MISSION STATMENT
As we all know, the barrage of information directed at us online on a
daily basis is staggering. Life just seems to move faster and faster--
so fast that it wasn't until recently that I realized just how negative and
judgmental and cold a lot of the net has become. It seems like every day
I get an e-mail or an IM that says, "Dude! You gotta check this out!".....
"Wait until you see this!" (I can always tell it's not going to be a link to
some kind of a self-help prayer, that's for sure.) Hey, I'll admit it. I check
it all out. It can be interesting and entertaining stuff. However, for the
most part, it's ends up being just a trivial shot of an actress looking bad
or some bizarre sex scene. Then there are the negative posters with whom
I have been known to argue, suggesting that they take their energy and
send it somewhere they could actually do some good. Along those lines,
I've decided to take my own advice.
One of the greatest experiences of my life has been giving to others
in need. Many of you know that I am a recovering addict and working
with the MusiCares/M.A.P. organization has been an awesome way to
make a difference. Cure Autism Now also holds a special place in my
heart as a very close family member suffers from this baffling disease.
As a show of support for the work of these and several other important
charities, and in an effort to raise their visibility and draw more resources
to them, 6767 invites you to check out the links to these charities on the
right and consider donating or volunteering your time.
Here's to the tireless angels behind these efforts and to being of service...
