How It Works

(Eric, Dave, Stephen and Perry... via NIN.com) Robert and I upgraded the site for now adding links to MySpace, Twitter, YouTube, Jane's and the Podcast. All of our digital worlds collide here. Should make finding out different versions of the same information much easier! Tomorrow is our show at Echoplex. I understand that everyone didn't get confirmed and there are a few questions as to how it all works for those who did. I am looking into that as I type. As for transfers of names etc... My understanding is that the name used to register is the name on the list and I.D. will be required to collect the tickets which will be $10 at the door. This is to avoid issues like the guy on EBay trying to sell his confirmation. If any new information comes my way I will let you know. I am seeing the guys today at rehearsal and we will discuss.

Hey Dave, I'm glad you're addressing this. I didn't get confirmed but I plan to be there at 6 am rain or shine anyhow. I'd also like to say, with all due respect, as I'm sure the band had nothing to do with this but... there has been so much scamming and sneakiness associated with "sign up and get an invite" type systems that it's really not the best idea to implement them. There are going to be so many people screwed over come tomorrow, probably me included. People from all around the country could have emailed and might not have even had any intentions of showing up. Plus, a person could have confirmed 20 emails for themselves and then hurt the other people legitimately trying to get into the show. Anyhow, I hope you guys rock tomorrow night... if anything I'll be in the alley listening.

Well done on the digital information collision, that will be much easier.
Hope you have a kick ass gig tomorrow night and all those going have a blast.
Much love.

ahhh all the confusion, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I know that I, along with several others, couldn't make the show and gave fellow Jane's fans' names in the RSVP. I hope this doesn't screw things up for you, them, us...other that that asshat on Ebay I know this was done purely out of fans trying to help others.

Wow DN- are you busy enough? I have not seen you post this much in awhile, not that anyone is complaining!! Sure a nice change from the last month when we wondered how you were?

Have a great show tomorrow=I imagine you now as Linda Blair in the EXORCIST with your head spinning round and round at your Twitter, MS,FB,6767 can you keep up?

I know you answered a few of the questions in the Sunday ten,but another- are you watching Andy Dick on Sober House? I am hoping he can keep up with it this time. He really cares about his son and being a responsible father.

Other than the butt-head on ebay, the Jane's community has really come together to help out us locals who didn't get the confirmation. Its all been out of love and is a tribute to show how passionate JA fans can be. Can't wait for tomorrow

Ha. No one has helped me out, and I'm gonna be the one getting screwed because people RSVPd x 20. It's not even those peoples fault per se.. it's whoever's idea it was to use the "email for an invite" system. Oh well.

For those of you who aren't on the "list" I'm sure (seeing that there is an 8:30 cut off time for rsvps to arrive) they will start letting the people in who are not on the list, once the rsvps are in. Since a lot of people signed up and aren't coming, one would think that there will be plenty of spots available. Hopefully, all will be admitted...

MAN Im gettin so fuckin excited!!

I really feel for you guys in the area AND agree that this method that was used this time should NOT be used again w/out some tinkering. Have fun anyway to those who do make it. To Amber: LOTS of pix, babe, PLEASE!? Hey Dave- how 'bout making Amber your 'official' photog.? Of course you'd have to negotiate a fair price for her services and NO PAYING HER IN T-SHIRTS!!! Later, guys! Have a GREAT show, Dave!!

Well here's my take on the situation...
When I signed up at the NEW Jane's site (just as I was at the old one) it was for email updates etc...not thinking I was getting a invite because my zip code (which they asked for besides my phone # and email address) is 3000 miles away from the Los Angeles area.
Much to my surprise I received one because I was one of the "first 500". Instead of wasting a perfectly good invite I offered it to a fellow Jane's fan over at Xiola who didn't recieve one ans was able to attend. I RSVP'd with his name. Because we're all fans and one fan should help another. Gratis.
So at no time when I signed up did they ask for my name.

Yes, what Robin said.

I think this was a pretty good idea on the band's part to eliminate people waiting in line and not getting in.

If you had been paying attention to the Jane's Addiction website which has been hinting at all the other shows you would have seen the post last Friday the 6th which first said to sign up for the website and you would get invited. I myself have been checking the website and Dave's website every day for the shows. I told a friend about it a full 24 hours later. he signed up and got invited.

So had you been diligent and dedicated to finding out about the next show by simply checking Jane's website once a day you would have been able to get a ticket.

Tell me how many other shows of this importance and magnitude you could say that about.

Dave you guys are the coolest for doing these shows so cheaply and thinking about the fans and trying to make it easier for them to get in.

So is that NIN picture of everyone doing chip away mean you're finally doing a studio version of chip away or just rehearsing for the set?

If you are doing studio versions of old songs. Please consider studio versions of 1%, Whores, My Time, City and Trip away. Hell throw in Slow Divers and Maceo. maybe even a version of kettle whistle and suffer some with eric and you can do a whole album and not even have to write new material.

No disrespect to those who have the time, but some people may actually have a lot going on in their lives and cannot sit by the computer 24 hours a day waiting for someone to post a blog. Again, I'll be there anyway... lets all rock out and enjoy ourselves.

Yeah, my friend and I are in LA and really wanted to go but neither of us got an invite. Def looking forward to hearing about it though

Posting a list of just who has been confirmed for a ticket (or emailing a confirmation to the RSVP email) would help clear up any confusion, I'd think. Regardless, have a great show!

ah you have a chandelier it's all good then...it's like perry's crowning glory there course i know i'm invited but as i have been in a self inflicted depression for a few days i have no way of crossing the pacific ocean unless i build a raft out of old misused and abused guitars lying round my place...you all look absolutely ready to fire up those drums i can feel that somnolent energy about to be let loose:)it's all still tribal even in a digital world...those drum beats are primitive the venues are primal and the fans want to drag you off to their cave if you don't let them in as V.I.P....WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE:)baby!

Hi Dave. You lickable thing you.

Hi People, how are you all?
It has been a while since i wrote, as it has been very hectic down here. with the bush fires and all...
I have checked in now and again but not much has been written by you dave, I am sure someone has written about that...
I have lost quite a few friends in the bush fires and also some friends have lost their houses but have survived.. It has been quite horrendous.
I don't understand people who willingly go out and light a fire especially at this time knowing that the winds are hard and fast and already alot of people have suffered... and still they are out there lighting fires..
What has amazed me is the giving and compassion of all Australians in this case... over 100 million dollars has been raised by all and also the amount of giving at this time is incredible, it just goes to show the humanity in people far out weighs the shitty non thinking thugs out there...
The paper the other day had the youngest people that have died and i was crying looking at a beautiful 8 month old with the biggest blue eyes... It is just so sad...
I am sorry to heap this upon you lovely people but life right now is not that nice here and i wish i could get away from it and have some fun..... I am sure that will be with us soon...
take care
write soon.
forever the loyal Sonia...
love and stuff S..xxx

what Robin said x2.

ShindaiLovers you don't need to be online 24/7, see the little orange XML button under the archive links? you can sign up for update alerts if you click it.

but seriously, back in the day all I had to do was check my email and nin.com and 6767.com, now there's myspace, fb, twitter...TMI flowing, my brain hurts.

Hi,

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to see you. Once again, I feel like I was so close, and yet so far.

Since you are trying to get the details worked out... do you need to put your zip code in?

I didn't. I registered on Feb. 11 and got the initial confirm email. But I did not receive an invitation to go to the show. I couldn't have gone anyway, unfortunately. And maybe I wasn't one of the first 500. But I don't want to miss out when you come to the SF Bay Area.

Thanks for trying to be good to your fans. Have a lovely day.
