Hey Dave. Really looking forward to the show. I'm in West Hollywood and can definitely make it if #1 & 2 on that list fall thru.

So I have a tech related question if Dan's around to offer his expertise. Actually, it may even be a not so technical question that anyone on here could answer, and if so please help me out! :)
Does DN use active or passive pick-ups on his guitar and what is the difference as far as sound goes?
I've googled this question and it's a bunch of stuff that's over my head...I'm just interested in what kind of difference it makes in the tone - if any in layman terms...

almost everyone used passive pickups in electric guitars.. active pickups are much more common in bass guitars. typically only a heavy metal freak would want active pickups, which provide more gain & output, and less noise. active pickups are also used by some strat players for an extra little boost. this is usually experimental the strat player then switches back to real pickups because they sound better. some jazz players might want active pickups, simply to be weird. anyone who's into real tone or anything relating to vintage gear or wood (which produce the best tones) would almost certainly frown upon or make a weird face when it comes to active pickups in a guitar.
hope that helps,
dan's future replacement

on a side note, one of the black fender custom shop strats made for dave when he joined RHCP had some weird EMG active configuration (which was removed). i only know because i owned that guitar for a short while before i flipped it to some collector.

Just out of curiosity, if you were one of the lucky people who did receive an invite, what day and time did you sign up for the mailing list?

CrouchingPanda, I signed up 2/7 8am.
Dave, thanks a LOT for getting me to waste more time online, now on Twitter, just what I needed. You can make it up by sending a jet out to bring all your NY area 67'ers out to LA for Monday. I CAN'T FIND A REASONABLE FLIGHT!!!
Happy VD everyone.

Dave, can you help me out? Pretty please with a cherry on top.
What's a girl to do? I purchased my airline tix but did not receive an email. (I was practicing "The Secret". lol)
I signed up my best friend, her husband and myself on Sunday morning. She just had surgery on her leg and this would be the best thing to cheer her up.
Plus I've never seen the Old School Jane's. I was suppose to go to the show in Hawaii back in 91 but couldn't make it.
Help a girl's dream come true.
Always your loyal unicorn.

Those of us who weren't lucky enough to somehow catch the leak of the show last week, I think it's pretty much a guarantee that anyone who signed up for the mailing list this week isn't going to make the list. I signed up on Wednesday 2/11 at ~2:45pm Pacific, and I didn't make it.
What a bummer that Eric's excitement led to that inadvertent slip. It looks like someone over at http://xiola.org/ saw Eric's post before it got pulled, and posted about it on the 6th. So basically, people have been signing up for this show since last Friday. What a tremendous buzzkill.
