Dark Matter Tonight

Tonight is a new episode of Dark Matter on Indie Online. 10pm-12am PST Feel free to call us at the studio to chime in on anything we may be discussing at 1-877-900-1031. You can listen here. As promised on Twitter earlier today when I was doing a random Q&A, tonight's show will be NINJA heavy to celebrate the upcoming tour. I will of course, be keeping track of you on Twitter.

Also tonight between 10:30-11:00 Erin Cummings and Julia Voth will be in the studio to promote their film, Bitch Slap.

Here is last night's Dark Matter, thanks to our friend Chase.

Looking forward to it!

Twitter makes me dizzy -- can't decide whether to join the conversation or not.

So much for answering our ques. HERE. Do ya think next time you could give us a heads up before going all 'twitty'? I checked out the site for "Bitch Slap". Very cool. Movie reminds me of a couple of previous releases(not to worry, good ones). Hey, I know it may sound corny but do you think Trent would object to calling the tour "NINJA'S Rock!"? "NINJA's Parade"? Ok....I'll stop.

Sorry. Just perused the previous blog comments. Amber: SO SORRY to here about your camera. I don't know what I'd do w/out mine. MIss your great shots. JUST SOME DUDE: BRAVO!!!!for speaking your mind and not being hesitant to disagree/criticize an artist you admire.

Damn, I guess I called at the wrong moment... I had a NINJA question, but I was told you guys were only taking questions for the girls now.

My questions was; What was it like to be in the studio with Trent, is he as intimidating as he seems?

I had my shit together this time to... I wasn't as nervous :'( lol.

Cool show. Kirsten, know how you feel. Sometimes get tired of the 'censoring' when you call. Dave, PHILADELPHIA is the birthplace of America!!! Everybody MUST check out the Bitch Slap site!!!! VERY COOL!!! Hope the movie does well. Women are gorgeous. Uh Dave, we all know how you got your 'special' rock. On ManiaTV(Spread Show). The guy who gives those tours in LA. What's the secret?

I know Q&A time is over, but I feel this is something you should confirm or deny ASAP.. should the fans be expecting this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFLGRidfFo4 as the opening of the upcoming tour?!

Dave all this Jane's news is silly with radness! I'm realy stoked that Stephen, Perry, Eric and yourself are having such a great time and playing together in a serious way once again. It's all so beautiful, haha! I'm hoping that there will be a show I can get too, sooner or later.

Looking forward to the Dark Matter podcast too man, missed not having the last couple up in full.

All the best as always!

Dave,

I must confess: I got all comfy in bed so I could listen to last nite's Dark Matter and subsequently fell asleep an hour before it came on. Please post it as soon as you can.

Thanks!

Dave, you don't seem to be playing three days much these days. Any particular reason?

Posted by: edlong [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 19, 2009 05:39 AM

pocket, those photos are really good, thanks for sharing them with everyone. were you the guy with the big camera? i think we chatted briefly at the end, if so. i'll link them elsewhere, since lots of people should see them.

yeah, i'm curious why trip away wasn't played too.

eugenie, glad you liked the pictures, and yes i was the one with the big camera, right over by eric the whole set.

and you are welcome to link my pictures elsewhere, thats the joy of the internet, getting to share pictures of an experience like that with the world.

Actually Dave, I called the show not once, not twice, but three times last night. I got an answering machine saying "Thank you for calling Indie. State your name and where your from and you might hear your voice on Indie... leave the message at the beep" twice. I actually left a message once (don't know why) anyways... I felt completely rejected by you, my hero...(sarcasm) :P. Anyways, I went to school with about a hour of sleep under my belt but since I am very excited about the "NINJA tour," I thought it was worth it.... just wish I could have got through to you, it's all good though.

Much Love and Respect,
-Kirsten

Yo Pocket thanks for the PM's yesterday, we'll have to hook up on the polo field just for the hell of it!!!

OMG, Dave, I haven't gotten to dark matter yet but while checking my morning boards with my tripple shot espresso frap I checked into the Jane's site and read Eric's post. What beautiful honesty and raw expression he chose to share with us!!! It brought chills to my body and slight tears to my eye to read the challanges and intense passionionate music cultivation you are all in the midst of creating. Jane's has been my first and life long musical all time favorite, Lolla was one of many eyeopeners to life experiences. I want to say thank you for the many great years of contribution and all the emotional uplifts Jane's music has given me. I'd also like to express my encouragement and support for the chalange that the 4 of you face and the surrounding possible pressure of the whole experience in it self!!! For the 4 of you I send you wishes 7 prayers of strength, endurance, the ability to keep your hearts open & the freedom to let frustrations & obstacles serve as fuel to ignite the fire but to keep you all warm and not destroy the Beauty & Magic of what is currently happening between you 4!!!

All my Love & Support...

Kisses
Chrissy~

Dave,

Question for the Sunday 10, if you feels so inclined at having 1, and thus answering my pick, here goes:

Of the 3 shows Jane's has played in and around the Silverlake area lately, which one would you choose to be your fave? Not the one u think the audience would enjoy, but the one U liked best..

Gratzi,

Yo,

I've been taken to learn and be a part of Mesoamerican wisdom, or the Red Road if you want to call it that, since 1986.

So I've been in the Aztec Calendar for a while now learning about it, and in fact we have a studio in Mexico City on the hill where the Aztec calendar New Fire ceremony is/has been performed for hundreds of years.

The long and short of it is that just for fun I look up the birthdays of people I like, for example Bruce Lee, jimi Hendrix, bands,, artists etc, and of course have checked out hundreds of students and many friends.

So I looked up pthe original 4 of JA about 4 months ago for kicks and found some rally cool interesting stuff. It's kinda like an explanation of the chemistry between these people and their strengths and social dynamics.

All this stuff is free as it always shoud be, so if someone would like me to send them the read, or post it, send me a message.
A super quick note on this:
Dave-miquiztli
Perry-ocelotl
Stephen-cuetzpallin
Eric-acatl

DAVE, did you know that Edward james Olmos was actually set to be in the Zapatista movie that Oliver Stone was planning back in 1994?

For SPREAD TV I'd love to see the painter MANUEL OCAMPO on and I think there would be a great vibe between Dave and Manuel.

Excellent work Dave and your crew, excellent work JANES ADDICTION keep up the good work and take good care of yourselves and loved ones.

I was hoping that you might be at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas over the Valentine's Day weekend. Saw your guitar and clothes, but they were in a case and you were are nowhere to be seen. Are you glad to be going out on tour?
