Grace & Manners, Echoes De Luxe
Some of you may have heard Grace & Manners when they appeared on Dark Matter a couple of weeks ago. They have just released a new acoustic record and it is available for free download HERE. Feel free to download and enjoy. Grace & Manners is Dan Cleary's (my friend and guitar tech) band. They are a hard rock power trio but this record is a one take live acoustic recording of some of their songs. Another band you may wish to check into is Echoes De Luxe. They are currently looking for a drummer so if you are interested or have a recommendation, feel free to hit them up on their MySpace page. Listen for an in studio appearance from Echoes De Luxe on an upcoming Dark Matter.

It is slightly freaky when I sign in to comment on one blog bit then find it has shut in those few seconds and another one opened....anyhow, about the 'journalism' from before-
...it sounded like the fictional bollocks the Enquirer writes. Although, the flirting with girls bit is believable and I doubt you would turn down 3 girls if you were 'free' at that moment or your partner was into it! The journo probably only wrote that because "sober, polite rock guitar God spends time with fans and leaves with date for quiet drink in hotel bar before retiring quietly to room" won't sell as many copies or create quite the same stir!! It was entertaining though...
Where did the holidays go? Take everyone...........SB

Was very sad to hear of the passing of Ron Asheton yesterday. I know a lot of Stooges fans visit this site and will be mourning/celebrating him. Apparently it was natural causes but he was only 60! He left his mark though and I guess that's all any of us could hope for.
Sorry if I've bummed you all out...I'm off to celebrate Ron...

Hey Baby,
Going through some photos, I came across an exceptional shot of you from the Paramount show. You, great lighting, with the Camp Freddy logo visible. It is bad. You'll love it. How can I send this to you?

Thanks for the download Dave, sometimes we wouldn't get to hear stuff like this if it wasn't for people like yourself that promote it.
Hope your enjoying the New Year so far Dave and any idea when you will be back at spread T.V for some more shows??
Can't wait.

Hey Dave – It’s great to hear that Dan and his crew busted out a one-take acoustic album (I will be downloading it shortly).
How about you try something similar? Just sit down with an electric guitar, a few pedals, an amp and a recording device and noodle around for 45 minutes or so. Afterwards, you could post it for download. No over dubs, redos, or ProTools needed. I assure you that everybody that visits this site regularly will find it to be a brilliant, raw, and inspiring treasure. Since I’m being pushy, title it “For Reed”, my 2-year old daughter and I’ll forever be in your debt.
Thanks for even considering it.

I have not been here for a little while, so sorry if this is old news. I just saw the 100 best hard rock songs on VH-1, and they had a lot of your comments on the show. Do they play the songs for you, or just ask you comments based on your memory of the songs? I watched the whole thing on a blizzardy (I know that's not a word) day. Cori

Thank you for the free music. Sadly, the songs hit a little close to home. But Grace & Manners are good. I love the name. Would like to hear their harder stuff. I guess I need to get caught up on my Dark Matter.

And P.S., I gotta type this one last part concerning the L.V. strap..the very first time I saw it was when mi amigo and I stumbled in on the Kimmel show way back in '03. (He was from out of town, and we were doing the touristy thing.) Anyhow, I TOTALLY THOUGHT IT WAS LEGIT BACK THEN. ;)
We luv ya, D.N.!

LOL @ Karen's quips about needles/medicine and the bass. Although I would obviously never wish drug addition on anyone, I almost envy some peoples' ability to be so nonchalant and skilled with regards to needles. Me? I could barely stand to get bloodwork done. Apparently my veins "roll," so the nurses have to keep trying and trying. The secret seems to be using the small needles. Whatever.
As for the bass, IMO it IS relatively easy to play if you are at all musically inclined. That's what makes it so great. I picked it up fairly quickly not-too-long ago and am having a blast. It's like what they used to say about the game Othello... "A minute to learn, a lifetime to master." (Talk about addiction.) So I say to karen... go for it! Or you can apply to be Courtney's copy-editor. :-)
Thx so much for the music dl. It will be nice to have something pleasant to listen to this afternoon!
Love to all and a happy 2009!

unaccompanied minors was this dvd i rented last week in which the kids get stuck in a snowstorm in an american airport they get to the unclaimed baggage area and go wild of course the cutest preppiest girl grabs the louis vuitton bag first while the young boy grabs an unclaimed electric guitar and starts doing air riffs...two iconic things that have featured simultaneously on film before dave...LV and guitars all in the one scene...c'est magnifique n'est ce pas...that browny beige thing with the LV is the traditional more demure classic look of LV then you have the rainbow section LV with all the colours...

where was i going with this...mmm it just seems a lil strange that you'd be sooo impressed with a louis vuitton anything...thought you said you didn't like ''stuff''...ha has the allure of gifts from strangers never perished dave...do you like ''freebies'' like those giftbags they give out at award ceremonies to celebs actors and musos mainly with rolex watches and diamond studded cafe espresso machines for the already ludicrously wealthy...wrapped in louis vuitton giftwrap paper of course:)i found a black gucci bag once i got it for free and it totally made my week month year decade ;)
