1. My very tech related question... Does guitar playing chip nail polish?

It does, which is actually a plus, cause one can acquire that perfectly chipped street whore junky look in the time it takes to play a set without having to shoot drugs, smoke crack or walk the streets selling sexual favors. Sure, these other methods are tried and true but they take days to accomplish what can be easily done in 60-90 minutes...

2. Have you ever thought about grabbing the mic at a CF show, and sing one of the songs yourself?

No. Part of what makes CF so much fun for me is the fact that I get to play guitar with some amazing musicians and singers. Also, as much as I enjoy recording and singing songs I have written, I do not enjoy the experience on stage as much as I love simply playing my instrument.

3. Have you always, even as a youngster, been open-minded and accepting towards gays and lesbians?

Yeah... Growing up in LA I was never really exposed to racism or prejudice till I was much older. In my home, people just were... There was no difference. My earliest memories regarding these issues are very simple... My parents basically said, "Oh, some people do this... Some people do that... Some are like this... Some are like that..." There was really never an implication as to which way or thing was right or wrong. It just was. It wasn't until elementary school and junior high that the poison taught to other kids reached me. By then, I was already immune. Kind of a cool way to be brought up now that I think of it. Thanks Mom and Dad! HAHA! I sound like Kelly's brother: "A car! And a computer! Thanx Mom and Dad!"

Well, sorry but WHILE I was writing this you closed the blog so here goes anyway.....Sorry,Dave. Have to address Sarah first. How to deal w/ assholes? Simple....carry a small but deadly blow dart gun w/ you.Ever see the movie, "Thoroughly Modern Millie"? Remember Mrs. Mears? Shooo-Show-Shooo-Show!!!! Love that movie. Ok....Dave....Hmmmm....ques. you say? CHRIST! Where do I start!? I listened to the previous week's show(3rd). Sorry told you I was behind. Can't BELIEVE you are STILL complaining about living at a MAJOR intersection on a parade route!! Gimme a break! Every yr. they have one so why not spend the day at your Dad's or w/ a friend or go out of town that day. Or get some equipment for a home gym. WAIT!!!! THAT'S a ques. ........WHY do you feel the need to work out at a public place? Trainers go to homes all the time. Don't need that much equipment and most fold up nice and neat nowadays. Cool pic. What kind of web cam do you have or is it built in? Nice window in the background. So you have a balcony. Ever spit over the edge or drop stuff on people for the heck of it? Would you be more apt to do that to stangers or friends? One more thing(or 2). To Dan....KUDOS BABE! For what you may ask? Standing up for your opinion. There are A LOT of people who would just go along w/ everyone else's opinion. Talking about you saying that you don't care for the Chilli Peppers after 'Mother's Milk'. Brave. Yep. Someday I hope to be that way. I don't go along w/ the crowd but I don't state my opinions sometimes or just avoid the ques. I've been DYING to say something lately but.... LIke I said.....someday. Um...Dave? I know this is being nit picky.....but I rememeber you played 'Imagine' by a Perfect Circle last Apr(5th to be exact). It's the only Camp Freddy that I transferred to a disc. Why? I haven't listened to it. It's when I called to talk to you. I was the one who had the list for Velvet Revolver(vocalist suggestions). When I called I told Jess how I was so nervous that I felt sick. She was really great at easing me(but I still was sick afterwards for over an Hr). Anyway, the song 'Imagine' was playing and I do remember saying to her that at least I had a great song to listen to while I waited. She agreed and said she liked it too. Maybe she had a brain fart. Even intelligent people get them too. Did have one more thing but....later. I have to word it just so that you won't get TOO upset. Take care.C PS:How 'bout some Puscifer tunes soon?

JEEEZ!!! Listening now to this past week's Dark Matter. Leave poor Todd alone. Once a Southerner, always a Southerner. Once an East Coaster, always an East Coaster. It's where your roots are from. A lot of city kids can't afford bats so they improvised, hence using the broomsticks instead of bats. For someone who seems to NOT like the majority of the East Coast, you got the accent down(Boston one). Hmmm....maybe you SHOULD continue to trash the East Coast. A gig could come up in say...Atlanta. Mmmm....wouldn't exactly get on a small plane there to get home. Or if a gig comes up in CT or RI, maybe take a car ride. You've heard of Kennedy, right? By the way, this how is your BEST show yet! As for 'Valkyrie', he always plays the guy who makes good. Interesting that from the previews that I've seen, he is the ONLY one who does NOT have a German accent. Will he EVER be a real actor and go w/ what is written and not just do what suits him? Picture Christian Bale saying that he'll play Batman but won't wear the suit. Cruise RUINED 'Interview....'!!!! Why did you say that Mark McGrath has a great oncologist? Oncology is a Cancer specialist. Is he ok? Don't remember hearing that he was sick. You could have sold that Vicadin and made some $$ for Pinkberry and Starbucks. Next time you're in Pinkberry and they ask for your name give them this...Beata Mahmeata. Hopefully the announcer will be a guy. Wouldn't be the same if it's a woman. Go more for later. Take care. C PS:Still say you should do the show dead. ZOMBIE DAVE IS COMIN' TO TOWN!

I found out about this show about 1 hour before the doors were set to open last night, by then the line was probably clear to the 405! Would've been an amazing show to see. Lucky people...

Hey guys,
Here in Oz we have so many races, we couldn't possibly be racially motivated, if you are white you obviously are not an Aussie as you are not aboriginal unless you come from way back..
It is great to live here as race issues are not that common.
They do exist and if i said they didn't i would be full of it, but it is not that common...
now here is a question: if i came to America and i was screaming out "Dave Navarro" down sunset boulavard would you come out to meet me???? This is a five year plan by the way......
Love and stuff S..xx

Dave,

I can't help but be impressed by your writing skills. Your response to the nail question is really funny!

Thanks Furian, hadn't thought of a blow-dart, the only problem with that is you have to bring that up to your face, too obvious. I was thinking of something slightly more subtle, a cattle prod or a stun-gun may be better.....

Good answers, unfortunately for me, I was introduced to racism, homophobia, etc. by my mother, but it had the opposite effect to what she probably intended, not sure why....my mother had 'issues' so a lot of what she said and I did I ignored - just as well really! However, like her, I am nuts.

Dave, thanks for answering my question. I wish there were more people as open-minded as your family. LA is definitely more liberal than North San Diego County is. Unfortunately, 70% of the people in my community voted yes on 8. I can't believe I live among so many narrow minded folks!

Hey man, very rad Dark Matter last week!

Cool to hear Todd's pontificating again. Glad he could stop by! It's all rad with the answers too, I love it all.

It is so professional that you make sure you are also up on technical issues and don't just leave all the answering of questions to your colleague. Anyway, I have another tech question , I was really wondering. Do "techs" get groupies like Rock Musicians? And you know how some groupies might pretend they are a bit more into rock music than they really are in the hope it might help them get off with a Rockstar, or failing that, at least some stand in drummer or something, well do "tech groupies" ( if they exist) pretend they are all into the technical stuff and take a great interest in wires and pedals and so forth in the hope it might get them off with a music stage tech? I was guilty of this kind of behaviour sometimes in my youth, not Rock music so much, but camping.

tiffany bean everybody knows the techs wait around for the scraps off the table of rockstars...can we have the rest of your rider dave if you ain't up 4 it:)wily they are...avoid that trap at all costs...ha the road crew the mixers the lighting guys all feed off the girls the ''rockstars''throw back into the moshpit it really is a waste of time to be a groupie if you have any self respect darling...truly the best way to ingratiate yourself with your fave rockstar would be to become his manager...the boss always has the key to his door and his financial future...haha or become his camera crew he really does want himself portrayed in a favourable light on the right angle in the right tone with the best pixels technology has to offer...you can blackmail him with bad footage if you are feeling vengeful that he slept with any groupies...ha have a good day dN getting my tatt done in 1/2 an hour flower power baby! k-boom!
