Sunday
The first person in the LA area to post their full name below will be given a pair of tickets to attend the show at El Cid on November 20th. I will be giving out another pair on Wednesday evening live on Dark Matter - Indie 103.1FM (12a-2a). Other than that, not a whole lot going on today. Just got back from Mexico City where Skribble, Slynkee and I played our set, but sadly, J Mello was unable to attend... He was certainly missed, but we pushed through and had a terrific time. Sunday usually means question time so if you have them throw them at me.
Looks like Christopher David Lisk and a guest! Chris... Will you for sure be able to make this show?

Congratulations Charles. I have been spending the last few minutes cursing the fact that I won't be in LA on Thursday.
Anything for me Monday or Tuesday, Dave?

Dave. You really are a doll. Congrats Christopher! Take loads of video!
Q-How are you guys deciding on the set lists for these little shows? And will it be completely different from the La Cita show?

Maybe I should ring in from the UK on Thurs...perhaps not, can't justify the expense of a plane fare to LA. Maybe in another life......
Here's a silly one -
How many days of music do you have on your iPod?
Just curious because I have 10.2 days, 3509 songs.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone...........SB

Hi Dave.,
First time caller, but long time supporter of your creative endeavours. Well, I’ve got a little situation. My best friend’s birthday is next week and coincidentally his favorite band of all time, this ragtag quartet from Hollywood, is gracing the city with its presence once again on Thursday evening. Together we’ve been to every Camp Freddy show that we could afford and seen Janes play live in several incarnations, but due to parental restrictions we never got to see you play with Eric. And although my friend always says that your performance at Coachella is the show he’ll “take to the grave,” I know seeing the original line-up in a forum like Scream and Lingerie would be the new crown jewel of his concert catalogue.
Provided you’ve heard a zillion sad stories from fans who didn’t get into your last show, here’s one that’s more unfortunate than sad. My friend Jordan and I were on the front lines that day outside La Cita. We even saw you cruise up in a Cadalac while we eagerly waited. Long story short, the twelve people before us in the RSVP line entered the venue and then the hammer came crashing down right in front of us. I kept looking out for Ashton Kutcher to come out and say “you’ve been punked.” But after over nine hours of waiting in line, all we heard was the club owner say “you’re not getting in until all the VIP’s get in” or “fire marshal said we’re at capacity” while he pulled every girl he wanted to perform cunnilingus on inside.
We listened to a few songs creep through the brick walls, but all the air was out of the balloon by that point. I had only seen my friend more depressed once in our multi-year friendship, and that was when his kid brother died after an auto accident six years earlier. I’m not trying to sugar coat the Splenda, I’m just letting you know.
I was wondering if there is anything I could possibly do to insure that he gets to see his most prized band in its original glory on his 27th birthday?
Like most of the companies in America, the people we work for are in a bit of a crisis and asking for a day off is like issuing your own pink slip, or else we would get in line again at 1PM.
I’m willing to clean your pool if you have one, give you an ear lobe, or some free art work, or work for a charity of your choice when I have some available time. I don’t even need to get a ticket. This far more about my friend’s enjoyment than mine. If not, no worries. Just giving it a shot.
Keep Up The Good Work,
Adam Mars

Damn, I can't believe it took 40 freakin miutes! If I had been awake I would've been on it lol...although winning a spot on your guest list twice in a row probably isn't too fair is it?! haha I'll be there...lined up early with a book and bagged lunch! Hopefully I'll be able to get in.
S10:
~It's been a while, do you have any Netflix recommendations? (did you hear that they are partnering w/ Tivo to downloaded your ordered movies directly to your dvr box?! Rad!)
Oh, and will you pretty please find out how many people (fans not on the list) will be let into El Cid and post that info sometime before the show? Just so we all know whether or not to wait it out after a certain point in the line.
As always, thanks for lookin out! :)

Hi Dave!!!
Only one little question...
What's the size of your electric guitar strings?
I mean if you play on d'Addario, it's probably 9-42 (spaghetti lol), 10-46, maybe more...
Thanx!
(I'm on 10-46 on a Stratocaster)

Hi DN,
Hope you're having a good weekend. Gig sounds wicked fun, so glad to see that you're enjoying hooking up and playing together, and you're so kind to do that re tickets.
It's my birthday Tuesday 18th and I'm wishing the stitches in my mouth would heal (oral surgery 2 days ago) cos I'd quite like to be able to eat something that isn't mashed and want to stop wailing about the pain, I've had enough now (and I think so has anyone else in the vicinity lol)!
Looking forwards to catching the show this week. How're your plans for Thanksgiving shaping up?
And what's the most memorable present that you gave anyone? Anyone gave you?
Have a great week all.
Love,
Racheal. x.x.x

Dave,
We are all really happy about these shows, but there is definitely a better way to handle the El Cid show than having all of your most loyal fans waiting outside for hours like La Cita. I can think of 3 off the top of my head:
1) Hand out some sort of marked number while taking names and checking ID's early in the day so people can come by, get a number, and return later at a more reasonable time.
2) Take email requests for tickets and hold a lottery for a conservative number of the available tickets to the public so that all lottery winners are guaranteed entrance to the best of your ability.
3) Sell virtual tickets starting at a designated time sometime this week.
All of this is predicated on you or your management company inviting the fire marshal IN ADVANCE to the venue to assess the capacity. This action alone would most likely reduce fan frustration.
Thank you for reading.

On the subject of depression, do you have any particular favourite mood boosting foods? Also on the subject of exersise, do you have any quick sort of exersises that don't take up too much time of your time in the morning (apart from sex) which help to get you going before rushing off to the gym?
Which is your favourite Terminator film (if you have seen them all?).
Do you believe in the theory men are like rubber bands? E.G. they are all over you one minute then they suddenly need to retreat to their cave to think things through, then they come back out when THEY feel like it? This is a theory written in some book about relationships somewhere. Apparantly, it is due to men's innate need to feel strong and independent. Do you have any theories on this?
I LOVE those dresses on that El Cid poster. Have you ever worn a dress?

wow.I'm shocked. You actually left a posting 'open' longer than 24hrs. I'm impressed. Is there ANYthing in porn nowadays that just COMPLETELY turns you off(or grosses you out)? Do you prefer gonzo or movies? Do you watch it just as much if you are in a relationship? Some guys I know don't. They prefer to 'make their own' w/ their hunnies. Is there a difference between 'regular' women vs. those in porn? I'm talking about in the bedrm. or even in relationships(not sure if you've had one w/ a porn chick). Well...that's all for now. Thanks for the post. Forgot how much easier this is vs. MySpace. The people are more funky, too. In a good way. Take care, Damone. ;} C PS-Do ya think you could give poor Rissa a BREAK! She was at the station w/ you for the 2nd show, right? She needs a life! Sheesh!

Sorry to post twice(at least they go through here). Adam Mars: THANK YOU for sharing your story! CALL EARLY on Wed. for Dave's show. Tell Jess what you wrote here(short version). Hopefully you'll get them that way. And additional thanks for saying what REALLY happened for the first ElCid show. Sorry to be a bitch but I honestly hope those SKANKS weren't pulled in for Dave. Aren't fans more important? Would the skanks still be there if he wasn't so popular due to fan support? Hmmmm?

Just got around to listening to last week's DM. Wow, Bill O' Reilly actually said that the people who voted for Obama a.k.a black people (although it showed Obama got just as much as the educated white vote and even more) was responsible for prop 8 being passed because we're such devout Christians.... haha. That's a hideous comment but "in your face Bill O' Reilly" is exactly what I'm saying when it showed he was WRONG.
Anyways, talking about relationships/marriage... my grandparents were together for more than 60 years and were married for 52 of them. They were childhood sweethearts and went on to marry each other until my grandmother passed away last week. Now she had been sick for awhile but no matter what, you really can't "prepare yourself" for someone's passing, I tried but I learned you couldn't. It was crazy for me, because the last day I spoke to her, last Sunday, she seemed to be doing better and we talked and I told her goodnight and not less than 24 hours later... she was gone, I was called out of school.
They say to surround yourself with loved ones when something like this happens, but all I wanted to do was to be alone. I know people only mean good, but I didn't like being around people... I was mad at one point but I was more sad than anything and I really don't talk about it. A lot of my friends didn't even know until today. I'm not keeping anything "bottled inside" but that's the way I am. But my main point is, my grandfather's life revolved around my grandmother's life... his daily routine and everything so now that she isn't here, it seems like he's lost. OF COURSE, he's hurting... I can't imagine being with someone that long and then one day they're not here anymore but I wish I could find someway to comfort him. We go over there and everything but it seems like nothing helps… maybe it does but he definitely isn’t the upbeat person he was.
^^ Anyways, I felt a sense of closure after the funeral... I wrote her a letter and put it in the coffin with her to feel better and everything, but all this goes back to my original question (above).
Yeah.... I'm ranting.

strenuous exercise or sexercise i spose would be dave's fix 4 depression ha watching his own porn film perhaps...google endorphins...they do say the nerve ganglia surrounding the g-spot is the most complex in the body too so do wot u have to do:)to get that release ha but being creative and doing your art gets alpha brain waves happening which alters perception usually makes it easy to relieve depression you kind of force yourself to get creative if depressed because there is that self sabotaging complex that doesn't want you to access the healing what killed kurt cobain and a lot of other artists y'know van gogh cut off his ear for a prostitute he was in love with at the time...artists are more prone to bouts of depression because they are more receptive...open to the auras of others and sensitive...they are like satellites transmitting and receiving aren't they lou reed:)satellites of love...surfing 4 dave maybe thinking bout that jane's addiction clip oceansize saltwater cleanses the aura of a person alleviating negativity and there are endorphins being produced and feeling at one with nature...i have felt butterflies to be a very healing element lately there are hundreds where i am living floating round me all day they represent metamorphosis the life/death/life cycle which is useful to acknowledge if someone you loved has died...it's like that lao tzu quote i dreamed i was a butterfly but when i woke up i thought perhaps i am a butterfly dreaming that i am a man/woman...at least i wouldn't have to give a f**K about porn or obama...fly on my zephyr with lil hallucinogenic wingz:)in a kaleidoscope of colour as anthony kiedus sings...reality is a nice place to visit but i wouldn't want 2 live there...imagination is probably your best transportation to a better place...i was reading bout the avoidance-approach response in relationships psychological lab tests on rats in the 1950s and 60s that prove that men and women retreat and approach their lover in some love-hate syndrome...i thought press the goddamn lever for more pleasure rats and get some balls about you but no retreat and advance /retreat and advance same in politics and religion and economics i'm off to be a goddamn butterfly haha is steven isaacs still next to the painting of that caterpillar smoking a hookah pipe in alice in wonderland i wonder...oh i think i could be ranting but no less than obama or bush and probably you've garnered more here on your bodily functions then in any of their speeches...i just saw all 3 of carmen's strip to get fit dvds at the store in town rent one it should alleviate depression...again endoprphins plus cute lil outfits including boots and fishnet stockings or the baywatch babes getting naked i would have rented that but i was with my daughter and there was this guy lurking surreptitiously close he might have got off on me choosing that one and stalked us all the way home...heaven forbid:)anyway yeah question did you ever get jealous of your girl posing nude or were you proud of her accomplishment in having a finely tuned body just asking cos guys i have lived with have been out of control with their jealousy it's like you wear a muslim djellabah outside the house and crutchless lingerie inside such overly posessive behaviour indicates an inferiority complex with feelings of inadequacy i can't imagine you dave would care if carmen did a red carpet movie premiere naked...probablly be delighted nad charmed like marilyn manson when he was with rose macgowan in that mesh dress that was barely there...liberated males you gotta love them as long as they don not exxxploit you...

have you had any vocal coaching...for trust no one maybe...would you consider vocal coaching for another solo album or do you like to develop it on your own strength instinctively...do you think vocal coaching is an important element in ''rock'' music...have had some girl on myspace called danielle varanelli contact me to advertise she says she has had coaching from mick jagger's vocal coach...ha i thought he just wiggled his hips and the sound just came out:)just been reading an old blog by billy morrison bout circus diablo...the human instrument can be more easily damaged than d'addarios...plenty of concerts cancelled due to hoarseness and lead singers losing their voices justin hawkins in cleveland in 04 damn that falsetto ball blasting stuff ...the pine oil can be gargled in a glass of water for that too:)judging rockstar and getting amateurs to a professional status you would have to recognise the vocalist's plight and someone say like kHZ who def is not singing some mellow ballad in an easy vocal range would have to exercise to develop...just like any other body part needs to be carefully developed or it breaks down...am interested in your vocals dave you have such a serene voice what ya gonna do wid it besides host ...when ya gonna sing us a song eh!where's my lullaby honey...xo
