Dark Matter
Here is the thing! Get out and vote today... Sure Obama is in the lead, but you never know! Dems have a history of not turning out at the polls. I know that I have been guilty of that in the past.
Tomorrow night is the premiere of my new radio show on Indie 103.1FM... Dark Matter... 12am-2am - Of course the phones will be open and I will have my friend and sometimes partner J Mello in to talk about what he is up to. More to come...

12am?? Shit that's 3am EST! :-o I hope you'll be podcasting this show!
Since registering to vote a gozillion years ago or so it seems I have not missed an election, not even local. Even in the years where the choices were so shitty I actually wrote in a vote....So I will be hitting my polling place on my way home from work (I don't do mornings well) GO OBAMA!!

Can't wait for the show, just wish I didn't have to be at Fox so damn early...ce la vie~

That's what I'm talking about Dave!! :p Nah, but I feel that this race is going to be closer than what people expect and that it is important to go vote and to not assume that Obama already has it.
Sadly, I can't vote because I'm a convicted felon (not really) and I'm still a minor but I do know that all my friends and family that are able to do so, did go out and rock the vote. It's good to see how enthusiastic people are, especially my crazy cousins... if you guys only knew, it's odd to hear them talk about politics haha. Congrats on the new show by the way... can't wait to hear it and hopefully it'll be available for download like CFR was because I'm on the east coast as well and I have school so I can't be up to hear it. Dark Matter should be some good stuff though I'm sure of it.

Dang- 3am! What's a workin' gal like me to do?! I guess I'll have to pick Wednesday as my night to have insomnia. How did UK Paul do it all those Saturdays!? This time it's great for the UK peeps to catch the show at a decent hour.
Looking forward to it- sounds cool.

Holey moley, I may actually get to listen to Dark Matter live........well, i could if I didn't work!! That's 8 to 10am for me. Fantastic...but I'll probably end up listening to the podcasts, if there are any.
From a long distance observer of your elections - GO VOTE, if you don't vote and the person you don't like gets in - then it's partially your fault for doing NOTHING...and you have no right to complain. People have and are dying around the world for a democratic voting system, so make the most of it!
Getting off my soapbox........happy voting everyone.......................SB

Hey Dave,
I am Sonni from Australia, good luck with your preference of president. We here in oz have to vote no matter what, at the age of 18 we have to register with the government to vote and that way we all have a say.
We hope that Obama gets i, changes need to be made!!!!
Good luck and let the best man win....

Hi Dave,
It was fun to see you play up and close in San Jose. (I was the girl with the big smile in the blue Renaissance garb up in front). J-Mello was cool too, and that last song you did together is stuck in my head. I was disappointed, however, that you only played about four songs. I drove two hours to see you. But after what I've been through the last couple years, I should know better than to have high expectations.
Oh well. I hung out with the artist who painted your portrait, Reyes, and his girlfriend. They were great. It was amazing to see your image magically come to life. I hope you get a chance to see it.
I'll be in LA Nov. 17 and 18. If you aren't playing anywhere, does any of the 6767 crew have any suggestions for good live rock and roll -- new or old?
I not only voted, but I read my voter pamphlet (mostly). It's important to vote, but it's more important to be an educated voter. Listening to ads is not going to do it. The devil always dances in the details. The reason we have the electoral college is because some of the Founding Fathers didn't trust the intelligence of the masses. Let's not give that train of thought any more merit. Still, go vote what you know and stay informed.
Here's to Peace, Hope, and Change,

This race means so much more than someone's race..... black, white, hispanic, and so forth. Just 50 years ago, SEGREGATION existed.... the civil rights moment, women rights, etc.
My grandparents and even my parents..... just in their lifetime, so much has changed. With a black (or mixed) president, it has show how much we have progressed.... and we still have a long way to come, but I feel we can honestly call this the UNITED States Of America. Change has come.... history has been made.
Those who didn't get to live to see what has happened today.... Martin, John F. Kennedy, and SOOOO much more...... words really can't even explain.
No more excuses, a black man has become president.... anything is possible in America.
We still have a long way to go but this is a great start.....

Such a historic moment. I haven't felt this happy since JFK was elected, and I was only 10 then. I feel privileged to have grown up in the 60's, when people spoke out against the war, and marched for civil rights. Now, with Obama leading the way, I feel America has been revitalized.

martin luther king said i have a dream that a man shall not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the ''CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER''been making me think :)i have a dream that a female will be judged by the content of her character not her bust size/hair colour/size of her bank balance or buttocks DN so whaddaya think bout that haha really i have trouble trusting the intelligence of the masses lately too along with the founding fathers i thought do they need silicone implants in their cerebral cortex?i think a lot just voted for obama cos he was black not for his political content the bias can swing both ways but it is kinda cool if he's nobody's fool:)i was thinking bout how many 18-25 year olds are uneducated and uninterested in the political agenda buying tix for music festivals feature a lot higher on their list of things to do and focus on they are trying to sort out accomodation...transport...carreers...relationships etc it can get hectic without having to preview campaigners and then they just go to a polling booth scribble woteva!very random!and head back to their mates...i missed a local election once and got fined cos i was unaware we were voting had been watching cable tv not local tv just mtv, channel[v],VH1 and they forgot to inform me damn!but i got to see and listen to some great music like i knew lisa left eye lopez died in mexico and that flea likes to run around naked a lot...but then the only local candidate we have had here gets in every year anyway burnt the aboriginal flag on australia day...rascist black/white deep south town in australia mate ha we are way more behind in social reform than america i think...you have to be in it to win it if you want a better lifestyle you should vote and after that you should keep a close eye on them to keep them honest...protocol that movie with goldie hawn is classic she says i'll be watching you like a hawk...have a great week dave

WARNING: ATTENTION SEEKING COMMENT COMING UP WARNING: ATTENTION SEEKING COMMENT COMING UP
Well, interesting day, was having this argument with someone, she saying that the election results celebration should not be so much about race, but I disagree, I think it is a great achievment for African Americans considering all they had to overcome and rise above, and it would not have been possible without their hardship, suffering and sacrifice. So that should be celebrated. Don't get me started on racism in Australia. They are way behind and if United Nations could get in to some of the more remote places there it would open a giant can of worms.
Interestingly, this very day, this man I'd never met before(very camp) who was just sitting, while I was getting coffee, came out and said to me ..."Excuse me...I just LOVE your outfit!" He was even more impressed when I told him I got my top and skirt from a charity shop for about six quid, and actually found the shoes in a bin. (Not a bin outside). I asked him where he came from and he said... of all places..TEXAS! Of course, I did not initally believe him, as he was not wearing a white sparkly cowboy hat and did not say "y'all" or "Yeeeehaw!" once. But yes indeed...he came from TEXAS! I should have asked him whether he knew lil lunatic (sorry spelling error)...lil luna!

DAVE: As far as I know, you have not starred in a porn film yet. I'm NOT saying I think you should, but I just wondered why, seeing how involved you are in the adult film world, you haven't done one. Word on the street is you definitely have the right equipment!
Much love from TEXAS bitches!!

I cried watching Obama's speech to Amber... it was beautiful to see EVERYONE celebrating together despite the color of each other's skin, culture, gender, or background. When Obama's family came out.... when all of the families came out, damn, that was something. We ALL need to come together now. It always seems like it takes a tragedy for people to truly come together i.e. 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, etc. but why wait till a tragedy comes? People may look at me like I'm stupid/delusional, whatever you'd like to call it but when I went to school today, whenever I acknowledged someone I'd say "how are you doing my brother/sister?" Yeah, I know it sounds stupid, but what happened last night, no doubt about it, it was a historic moment to see an African-American (biracial) be elected president, but to see the entire Human race celebrating together... the power of equality, the fact that we're all the same... we're all God's children (or whatever you decide to believe in) is one of the strongest things. Of course I feel racism is always going to exist, you'll always have that one person and so forth but when we come together for a good cause, NOTHING can stop us.
It was touching to see everyone celebrating worldwide as well.... Africa, Japan, India, Pakistan, Palestine.
Now me being black, of course it felt good to be black today. What happened last night shows that anything is almost possible if you believe in it. It was even more meaningful when I think of those who helped paved the road to Obama's victory or those who suffered for our rights but wasn't able to see what happened last night; John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Emmitt Till, the Little Rock Nine, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, W. E. B. Du Bois, and so many more unsung heroes. At times, I wondered what the hell we are doing as a culture; the gangbanging, admiring the “gangsta lifestyle,” degrading our women, to name a few but I sometimes feel as if we are not living up to our ancestor’s dreams, Martin’s dreams, and so forth. I hate when I hear people say ignorant things like nigga this, nigga that, even today I heard "Obama, my nigga crushed McCain and so forth." If anything, I feel as if we have something to prove to OURSELVES, we are capable of doing so much but we our victims to ourselves (mentally) when we hold ourselves back because of the color of our skin, where we were born, coming from an underprivileged background, etc. And Obama’s story showcases this… anything is possible TODAY here in the United States. The story of coming from nothing to having something, to being someone besides a rapper, All-star athlete and so forth and we need to keep on breaking those racial barriers…
Obama said it best (although I’ve said this before in my blogs… maybe he stole it from me but maybe he has just a little bit more power than me now haha); Black, white, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native American, Muslim, Christian, Gay, Straight….. It’s our time!!
May God look over Obama and his family and God Bless America!!
-Kirsten
Like John said, you can call me a dreamer... haha :p (Now I'm going to really write)

Isn't that true haha...
"Forty-five years ago Martin Luther King had a dream of an America where men and women would be judged not on the colour of their skin but on the content of their character.
"Today what America has done is turn that dream into a reality."
No, I'm not expecting a miracle, a messiah, and everything to change as soon as Obama steps into the White House but the fact that we have so many who actually believe in Obama or the fact that he has inspired so many..... I have a lot of hope. America has a lot of hope....

Hope is indeed the word. I am still processing last night's exciting event and what it will mean for the US and for the world.
Although I am never one to blindly follow leaders and 'drink the Kool-Aid', I am VERY happy with America's choice. It feels right. And it's inspiring to see so many people finally caring about politics and voting.
To be able to bring so many diverse people together and win their admiration and trust, even their love, says a lot about Obama's character and charisma. When was the last time you saw so many Americans cheering enthusiastically for a PRESIDENT? I've never seen it. It's a first.
A dream has been realized, and that is a beautiful thing. Hopefully today is the dawning of a new day, a new era of healing. God bless America.
PS... Good luck w/ the new Indie show. It'd be great if you could podcast it like you did with CFR. (CRF never failed to put a smile on my face in one way or another.) We'd love to hear it!

YES WE DID! it felt so good to cry my eyes out from happiness last night as voters is this country made history... kirsten, that was beautifully put, you have got a lot of wisdom for being a minor!
here in pdx people were setting off fireworks and so happy w/ joy it was amazing. i thought obama would pull this off, but didn't excpect it so early... a few people in my nursing class skipped class today- one texting me w/ sheer joy trying to get me out to the barstill way late- but i was good and slept to make it to my 730 class- was very hard though ;)
my state was off course blue and we are still waiting for our senate results, trying to de-seat gordon smith- can't stand him- and replace him w/ merekley- tied 47% to 47%...
still an amazing historic night and i am very proud to be an american today! i will admit mccain bowed out very gracefully- i wish more of his speeches had been that good throughout the election...
the best, amy

My heart goes out J-Mello…That song…geeze…I think I might have shed a tear, so powerful. Your so silly with the “hot” comments…(should’ve known)..lol
Can’t wait to hear what in store for next week! God Bless Pa and have fun on Friday…say Hi to Miss Riss for us..
Oh wait totally cracked me up when you told J-Mello…something about “HE” should've been excited about the outcome of the Presidency..LMFAO…silly, silly, silly man…
Good Night

"starve the cat?!".....some quaint Texan expression? Based on what tradition? I am hoping people do not really starve their cats in texas, as here in England we regard this as cruel.
Now, I going to say something nice, which is really hard for me. It goes against the grain. It actually hurts to do this. But, I think Dark Matter is such a great name for a radio show! It has so many different connotations! Like the dark matter in the universe....or the dark matter of the brain! Or....a dark matter..as in affair.
Actually, I said something nice because I am hoping Dave Navarro will then find me more attractive...but my psychic instincts are telling me... this will never be the case. Yes, an obsessive compulsive, porn film directing, hot blonde bikini model loving rockstar with er (bats) tattooed on his shoulders doesn't find me attractive. SHUCKS DAMN!!!!
