Open

Let's open this up today...

Comments

I liked the letter towards the end in the previous entry, but it was closed before I could leave a comment. They had some really good points and their post was very well-written. It brought me out of lurking. I hope Jane's will play some more shows in the future. Thanks. Have a great Sunday Dave.

Hi DN - how's your weekend going?
Hope all is great!
1) Did playing the gug on Thursday 'open' any possibility of doing more?
2) Is it something you feel you guys can plan cos of everyones ongoing committments or if you do decide to go ahead will it be spontaneous?
3) How much planning was there for Thursday's?
4) Wondered if you directed your second adult movie? What happened with that?
5) What're you upto this week? :)

Dave,

Prior to NME Awards and La Cita gig, how long had it been since the 4 original Jane's members were in the same room together?

What can you tell us about the healing process between and among the 4 of you?

Hey Dave!

The only question i have is still the same...what's now going on with JA? Any projects like tour, new music or sthg?

Thank you so much for answering me,

Still waiting for Jane's in Belgium :) (would be one of my dreams come true)

Just in case you wanna throw up a S10:

~Have you thought about having Jane's perform on STV? Good way for those who are overseas to get a little love!

~At several points during the show you gave Eric wide eyed looks and at one point mouthed "WOW!" What was running through your mind during that set?

~Honestly now...cause you know how we looove to speculate ad nauseum. What are the chances of JA playing any more shows together? Have you guys even talked about it yet?

~Any word on when the "Majestic King" will be released!? HAHAHAHA

Enjoy the final hours of your weekend everyone!
xoxo

1) 17 years in the making, what changes occurred over the past years that made it possible for you guys, the original Jane's be able to put all the tensions you guys had for each other behind you, enough to the point you guys were able to get back together as friends/brothers and be able to play shows as the original band once again...

2) The new season of Celebrity Rehab started this Thursday, so I don't know if you seen the 1st episode yet since you was kicking ass with Jane's Thursday, so it might be a bit too early but I was going to ask you what did you think of it so far. Poor Shelley, when they were showing the preview for the season, they made it look like she just broke down and left. But then they also made it look like Dr. Drew had passed out or something had happened to him because Steven was standing over top of him shaking him.

Should be a good season....

Anyways, speaking of Steven Adler... I really feel bad for the guy but I wouldn't be surprised if he was to turn up dead soon if he isn't able to get his shit together because I read, right after the taping of Celebrity Rehab, he went out on a drug binge and was arrested. Shooting up in his neck... "Catching the dragon," crazy. I guess he really feels abandoned by Slash and his friends because that's ALL he talked about, it was almost like Slash was his girlfriend :p.

Gary Busey don’t even get me started on him...

Hello DN- Sounds like a really exciting week for you and a bunch of fans:) Congrats to all who have witnessed the re-birth. Happy for you Dave! Must have been tremendous!

KISS being my favorite band, I remember how terribly excited I was when they reunited, and it was exceptional because I finally got to see the orignal members, missing them in their heydey!

Celebrity rehab looks good. Steven Adler I feel bad for.

Dave, if you are answering a Sunday ten, how do you feel you have evolved as a person since Jane's first stepped on stage? Obviously, drug use, but in other ways?

Have a GREAT WEEK!Db

Well, talking about Celebrity Rehab... Jeff Conaway definitely needs to lose that girlfriend of his... she's nothing but negative energy and that's something he doesn't need or any addict trying to get clean needs. Hell, maybe that's the only way she's portrayed on the show and she isn't like that but I can't stand her... didn't like her first season, don't like her now. Even when her and Jeff pulled up to the rehab, there was a black cat sitting out there when she stepped out of the car, which I took as being symbolic in one way or another. Her "dramatic breakdown" when she told Drew and Bob Forrest she needed help... talk about fake or maybe it wasn't but her being surpised that Drew and Bob wasn't going to let her be in the same section as Jeff... dumbass. She's that "girlfriend," that none of your friends approve of at all and they tell you that she isn't worth your time but instead she's draining you but you continue to deny that and tell your friends that they don't know her at all and that she's a wonderful person and you never see that side of her. Yeah, stay around... if Jeff was to die, of course she would be heart broken and be very dramatic but whatever money he has left would fix that....

Your are right Kristen, Conaway's girl is a big enabler and actress:( Seems like she changed her tune pretty fast.

I love shows like this and INTERVENTION to see the circumstances behind the drug use.

I see Rodney King, Conaway, and Adler in serious shape. Hope Drew can help!

Someone might have already ask you this but...

what is your workout menu?

Hello Dave

I've got a question regarding Mountain Song for you. I'm not a guitarist so I cannot explain exactly what I mean, but I'll try.

When I listen to any version of Mountain Song that was recorded after 86-91 era, you seem to somehow copy the basslines with your guitar as opposed to NS or Kettle Whistle versions where the guitar riff is a lot more stretched out.

Do you find it better sounding that way ?

Cause I personally prefer the NS/Kettle Whistle versions as they sound a lot more psychedelic to me.

P.S Latest news about you guys playing have made me so exited. Last year I got to see Zappa plays Zappa gig so now there remains only one band that I'm dying to witness live.

You know which one it is by now ;)
I'll be waiting here in Europe patiently.

Be well.

what are you opening up for? A sale? Well...it would be good of you dished on some really bad arguments you had they are often amusing in hindsight, but lets face it conflicts do give rise to greater achievements for some reason, if everyone was all nicey nicey and boring it would..all be pretty boring and you'd be singing songs about flowers and little puppy dogs and be playing tennis with Cliff Richards and Olivia Newton John. I bet the two Ronnies hated eachother really. Did you ever see REAL Demons in your darker times? I saw some wierd demons. tHe best was this woman who used to spiral round in a rocking chair and age sort of rapidly until she turned into a grinning rotting skeleton. And then the woman behind the desk at the psychiatrists would go...excuse me... why are you staring at me strangely? J/king! errr Kind of.

Dave, Thanks for Spread TV and all other entertainment outlets you have blessed my life with. I know you do not have live audiences and we all keep bugging you but I want to go to LA soon and was wondering if you knew when this may happen if it will ever happen? Thanks :) I think seeing you in your element would be awesome! Keep Rockin Homie! Much Love

I have to say those 2 posters Shepard Fairey did for the gig are off the hook! It's a shame some gready fuckers are selling them for ton of cash on ebay. I really would want one but not at a current bid of $91!

Two benefits of stomach flu I've just encountered....weight loss and lack of ability to do anything else but sit in front of the computer and catch up on 3 months of Spread TV I've missed. So there are good sides to being glued to the toilet for 24 hours and feeling like I've been beaten up by Mike Tyson!! Anyhow, moving on...not sure if you are asking for questions but..

Do you see yourself going over to Europe or anywhere else for any of your projects?

I can always hope!

Not wishing stomach flu on anyone, happy Monday ....SB

Hey Miss Vixen! Thanks, better enough to go back to work unfortunately. I got off lighter than my husband but I won't go into gruesome details......sounded like something Dave said he got a few months back...........moving on again...

Just seen "Burn After Reading"...weird, not quite sure whether I enjoyed it or not. One of those films you leave feeling uncomfortable and confused.....but that's the Cohen Brothers for you

All in all, everyone here must admit how fu**ing cool the boys were to throw together a show like the one @ La Cita, right?!

Damn, sure wish I would've been there, but ppl in Iraq want clean water, too.

!Viva Jane's!!

Posted by: Carly [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 27, 2008 02:30 PM

Oh yeah, Dave I forgot to ask...

1) Prior to the NME gig, was there any chance of Jane's getting back together or did the NME honor bring you all back together?

2) When's the last time you've listened to a Jane's album completely through... when's the last time you've listen to your OWN CD completely through?

Did you notice that Trust No One was one hell of a CD and there's not one bad song on there?! :)

Seems like people think this is a Sunday 10, so I guess I'll try one. I don't know who runs the myspace page Dave at Spread TV, but I was wondering why no one has checked in since August 21?

i thought trust no one was subtle and deep...had resonance and soul listened to ''you oughta know'' yesterday to check out which guitar pieces were yours and fleas...it's amusing how you worked on kickass female empowering songs like xtinas fighter and you oughta know it shows that these lady artists sought you out because you have an affinity for that kind of girlpower as well as your exceptional skill on an instrument...one of the other reasons i really like you world could do with more guys who co-operate at this level...bravo baby!xxx

Well I just had to comment that stomach flu is a problem in uk, a lot of referrals to casualty. Flu is a problem. You know, i was just so pissed off with the general cruelty and nasitiness of human nature today, I squandered six pounds on two glasses of red wine, and four pounds on two slices of chocolate cake with cherries and cream that would have been better spent on lentils, onions, veg and rice which could have have been cooked up and lasted me a week.

I believe this should be the first lesson in school. Humans get nasty, human nature is cruel, life is cruel, and to make chocolate cake is cheaper than buying, than buying so learn!! Because you are going to want to eat a lot of it in life! With cream. God .....Australians are particularly offensive.....English people are so much nicer, What is it with Australians? There is thsi girl at work and all she ever complains about is toilet paper.

When I first heard Celebrity Rehab was going to be airing, I posted my thoughts on this train wreck of a show. I'll admit, I have watched it a few times, more so in the first season. I maintain that it is sad and these poor people are being exploited. They appear to have serious problems that need serious treatment and this show is no more than tabloid t.v. ....

Politics: I wonder how many people are voting for Obama just because he's black. How many people that wouldn't normally vote in a presidential election are voting just because a black man is running, regardless of what his policies are?You know what I mean? Nothing against Obama, I just wonder, is all.

Now,I saw Jane's in Houston at the Verizon which while not a stadium, is not "intimate" either,on your Strays tour. Great show! I also saw TPC at the Meridian. Now THAT was freakin' awesome!! I would love to see Jane's at the Meridian. It is the perfect size for a show. I was literally worshiping at your (DAVE's) feet! PLEEZE come back to TEXAS soon. Would you do it for a "DOUBLE DOSE"? ;) For the record, I think Mr.Dave gets hotter and hotter with each passing year. That's all I gotta say!

Much love from Tejas

And this girl makes stange squeaking noises when she walks past you, and well....is nasty to everyone and foul. EVery time I look at her i have strong and valid doubts about moving back to Aus. Aha! I know! Maybe I'll start up an English Cream tea Business in Los Angeles instead....but.. perhaps people are just as foul there... also.

AHHHH tiddly winky winky winky winky ahh tiddly winky wooooooo!

Posted by: tiffanybean [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 28, 2008 08:43 AM

You see, bitches, that is why America is AMERICA....people are allowed to express their thoughts and opinions freely! I never attacked anyone or got personal in any way and people that do are the foul ones. You SHOULD keep your foul, tight ass out of TEXAS.....people here are too friendly for your kind!!

Posted by: Lil' Luna [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 28, 2008 09:08 AM

In answer to your question Lil Luna, I am voting for Obama because he has the ideas and personality I want in a president. Race had NOTHING to do with it.

I voted for John Kerry in 04 and wish he would have made it.

We need to get out of Iraq, which is costing millions, provide affordable healthcare, initiate more with the education system, help the middle class get back on their feet, care for our Vetrans coming home, look at the pay-scale of millions of Americans.

Those are examples of what Obama has proposed.

I guess looking at him when I decided he was my candidate, race never even entered my mind, but then, I was raised not to be prejudiced. I am raising my sons the same way!

RANT OVER! Happy Tue- Db

Posted by: Danni from ND [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 28, 2008 09:21 AM

Lil Luna... you are right! I will NEVER venture to Texas again! If people from there refer to my ass as "tight and foul" they are indeed... way too friendly for my kind!!! Actually I lived with this girl from Texas once and she was quite nice. But she was a bit foul. The accent. The accent.

Posted by: tiffanybean [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 28, 2008 09:22 AM

I never asked anyone why they were voting for either Obama or McCain or why they aren't. All I said was I wonder how many people are basing their vote on the idea of having a first minority president PERIOD. It was not meant as a racist comment as I myself am considered a minority and am not racist....simply pondering human motive. Didn't mean to offend anyone. And Tiffanybean, I've never had words with anyone at '67 in all the years I've posted..but you, you can kiss my accent.

Posted by: Lil' Luna [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 28, 2008 09:32 AM

Lil luna, I did not mean to be rude, the texan accent can be quite charming... in small doses, but for those of us who were brought up where English is spoken properly.. that is not as if people are trying to avoid flies getting into their mouths, well...it can be quite painful to have to listen to it for several hours a day, particularly if the person has "passively inhaled" a lot of drugs in the past. Mind you we gre up watching Dallas and The Rockford files so I suppose we'd be used to it. Do you live on a cattle ranch, and wear a white sparkly cowboy hat, and sing ach breaky heart at wedding functions?

Posted by: tiffanybean [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 28, 2008 09:42 AM

You didn't mean to be rude, you just can't help yourself. Talk about pompous! Sounds like someone needs attention. Well, you won't get anymore of mine! I'm glad not all English people are like you. Peace love and VIVA TEXAS YA'LL!
