Better Late Than Never

1. Dave, have you had a chance to watch your friend Brooke Burke on Dancing With The Stars?

No I haven't... I have never seen an episode of that show. Actually, I have been glued to MSNBC whenever I get a chance to turn the TV on. Once in a while I'll jump over to FOX News just to raise my blood pressure a little bit. By the way... Obama simply killed it last night.

2. Sometimes do you need to take a break from 6767/mySpace, etc. because it becomes a chore rather than a pleasure to keep up?

Nah... It's never a chore, but things have been really busy for me lately and I have been trying to bring some balance into my life. Between SpreadTV, Camp Freddy, DJ Skribble and various other projects and travel I have been trying to take advantage of my private time.

3. What made you so interested in politics this year? I know you were for Hillary at the start but seem to moved towards Obama.

Haha! Well, yeah... I have moved towards the only choice we have! At the start of this whole thing I was a Hilary supporter primarily due to the fact that she has a lot of experience and I know who she is... Not to mention the fact that I am a huge fan of her husband. Now that Obama has made himself known over the past few months, I am certain we have the right nominee. As for why the sudden change in my public political views... I'd say that a lot of it has to do with the fact that I am genuinely excited about our nominee and after the mess of our last election, it is impossible to keep quiet about the need for change.

4. The only question I ever have for you Dave is when you are filming SpreadTV so I can come down and watch the taping!

The problem we have with the live audience right now is that we never really know what day we shoot as it changes from week to week depending on everybody's schedule. Sometimes we do a couple in a day and sometimes we only do one. I know that Todd and I are trying to get back to the full hour format which would be better suited for a live audience. I will let you know as I get more information.

5. (RE: Z Rock) How much of your dialog was improvised?

For the most part all of it. I don't think I ever read a "script" of any kind. I knew what the episode was about and we discussed the beats for each scene before shooting them. Once in a while we would know a line or two we wanted to throw in to move the story along. To be honest, I don't do well with written dialogue and everything I have recently done where I am "playing a part" has been very loose and spontaneous.

I personally like "political Dave" :-)
Last night my friend and I were playing the debate bingo game (because the drinking game would have sent us in alcoholic poisoning with "reformer" alone) and we both lost because surprisingly enough she needed "God" mentioned and it wasn't (which was a shocker!) and I needed "Find Bin Laden" and it wasn't.
You right Obama killed! But I'm not sure which channel you watched but during CNN's post-debate analysis someone made the quote of the night-"Grumpy McNasty" to describe McCain's performance. PERFECT!

Ha, great to read the replies.
Have you read The Case Against Barack Obama by David Freddoso? Have a read and see if you feel the same.

Yes...David Freddoso who is employed by the National Review, which is a right wing bi-weekly magazine founded by the late William F Buckley has absolutely NO agenda against a democrat and is completely un-biased (insert sarcasm)

Yes and investigative journalism has no place at all in contemporay democracies when folk prefer blind faith and propaganda. (Insert applause.) Here's the thing, whatever the political agenda of the person who wrote the book FACT doesn't change. Obama's past speaks for itself, forget the fake smiles, have a good look beneath and start with how he came to his first significant victory in 1996 in Illinois. He got the other candidates ditched.
Good old politics.
And I live in a Country that didn't even elect its current P.M.

Posted by: vixen [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 16, 2008 10:00 AM

So your agreeing that Freddoso's book is right wing propaganda? A book written by a person who employed by a magazine who calls itself "America's most widely read and influential magazine and web site for Republican/conservative news, commentary, and opinion."?
Yes that would be fair and balanced journalism.

You're missing the thrust of the argument as you've fallen into the propaganda swamp perpetuated by Obama's publicity machine. Here, I'll throw you a life line... Freddoso's book, by use of factual evidence, demonstrates that Obama is quite clearly just "like all the rest of them in Washington."
And that my dear is the whole point.
You're expecting a messiah and what you're getting is pretty much the same as ever with a different wrapping.

Thanks for answering my question Dave, you should go to You Tube and watch her Samba!

Obama was great last night. I had to laugh as McCain tried to explain how Palin is qualified to be President.

I've been watching MSNBC a lot too, especially Hardball and Keith Olbermann. Unlike you, I avoid Fox!! Grrr............

Well, I don't think any of us are naive enough to expect a messiah...just trying to avoid the antichrist.

Give this a read and see what you think:

Vixen, do you actually believe that anyone here including Dave have not read the candidates platforms, read newspapers from all over the country via the internet, or that we haven't watched "Face the nation" or "Meet the Press", watch Keith Olbermann or Anderson Cooper (or Bill O'Reilly or Hannity & Colmes for shits and giggles) or have acted in any way Politcal whether it be volunteering for a candidate at a local office or even lobbied our State Representatives in our respective State Houses....all to make an informed decision that will affect our lives for the next 4 years?

Seriously.

Hey Dave! has this kept you busy too??

That made me smile!

it's a bit like this...
So justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter.
Isaiah 59:13-15 (in Context) Isaiah 59 (Whole Chapter)wot a goddamn predicament!

You know what... I think there's something different about this race... just this much ;). Of course previous elections... I didn't pay attention to them and was almost not there... I was in kiddie lala land but you know when I go to school and see nothing but Shepard Fairey Obama T-shirts and people coming in the morning asking each other if they watched the debate last night (including me) instead of so and so's party and the latest "happening," it's saying something. This school year (politically active speaking) has been something else; having Young Republican meetings, Young Democratic meetings and volunteering... young people are excited and are becoming more active because guess what, we ARE the future and this election plays a major part in it. No one is hoping for a Messiah... even I'm not that naive to and that's saying a lot when it comes to me haha. No, sadly I can't vote, but this year we made sure EVERYONE in our senior class registered to vote so all the adults or people worrying if the "young voters" will show up... you betcha :p.

Robin, nice article.... Dave... Jane's.... east coast!!!! :D

Oh yeah, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow is where it's at....

….I am Joe the Plumber and I approve of this message.... haha

i think the war in iraq has cost america taken it's toll just like the great war 1914-1919 did and as a result the economy collapsed in '29 it got rebooted by the 39-45 second one...that's how it works...ammo factories mean production mean money...my ex guy ran round my living room threatening me with a 1914 springfield arsenal sword used in some war with blood stains on the blade beneath it's hemp scabbard...i think palin is mad for promoting the war i think mccain is an ex soldier so he could be pro military and i think obama is prob your better tip in the race ...comes from a family lineage of oppression being black no doubt apparently it was a black man who carried christ's cross when he fell beneath it on the way to calvary so lending a hand again is just scripturally correct...i like it when scriptures cross time boundaries ha...so does perry i'm sure...i love the dancers you guys had in the 3 days dvd i love the way perry yelled out ''love is warm are you all feeling warm'' he's a very cool guy

Dave, thank you so much for answering my political question:) MSNBC is my "drug". Fox news is all about Obama's ASSOCIATIONS and smears. They are owned by a Republican. I turn past it mostly.

Vixen, Jerome Corsi and many other have written books assocating Obama with many things.

FIGHT THE SMEARS.COM is a very good site for all the lies posted.

I, for the life of me, cannot see when presented with a positive campaign, people believe in negativity.

Republicans have always done this in their campaigns. They have these charater assasinations, that is the only way they fight. McCain cannot run on anything other than the lies he has his running mate propel and You Tube videos.

I am for this race beccause Obama came to my "unpopular" state. In fact, he came to almost every state. He cared enough. He cares enough about the middle class to fight for them. He cares enough about health care to team up with Hillary to fight for that.

He cares enough about college education to fight for students who can't afford it to help with an incentive.

He cares enough about low wages to tackle that. I could go on and on......when I see someone who has a heart and wants to make things better for me and my children, I am going to vote for them!

Enuf of a rant! You got me started peeps>
OBAMA 08- ! Besos DN-Keep spreading the good word! Db

Right on Danni!!!! Seems like the right wing is afraid of change, they just want to wage war against those who have open minds and open hearts.

Hi Dave,

Nice to hear from you again. I think you have a lot of fans that miss you and your friendly, honest and generous spirit.

Please just keep us apprised of your upcoming live performances with Camp Freddy, DJ Skribble, etc., that are open to the public... especially Nov. 17 and 18, because I'll be in LA those evenings, and (again) the SF Bay Area. I'd love to see you play live again, and your new creative ventures are right up my alley. (The pun was not initially intended, but I wish I could go to the bowling fundraiser; sounds like a good, fun cause).

glad to hear that you feel that way 'bout obama- i got a lot of crap from friends of mine for being an obama supporter- instead of hill- i do have a lot of respect for her and i value her in our government- if obama hadn't running against her- i would have voted for hill. he beyond killed it in the debate- he killed some rumors as well- maybe- i think it's kind of funny and sad mccain is still trying to say obama hasn't described his associations w/ ayers.
a good point i have, i know a person who is considered an eco-terrorist and in jail for blowing up SUV's, do i agree w/ this persons course of action? no, of course not, do i think this did any good for what i believe in? no. so am i a eco-terrorist- well, no i'm not.
this is a very important election- the last eight years have sucked- especially the last 4, hangin' with friends at cozmic pizza in eugene we watched the election results big screen together, everybody was walikng out crying- to top it off in oregon that year measure 26 passed making marriage between gay couples illegal and one table down i saw 6 couples crying- then i needed to go home.
lets no repeat this disgust.
ps robin your awesome
vixen shut up and get your facts straight- messiah my ass- nobody is looking for that- or the antichrist by the way- we are looking for somebody to start cleaning up the mess the bush administration has made- obama is the right president to get us heading that way- it will take more then four years, but lets get the ball rolling. i'm sick of seeing young folks die of cancer because they didn't have health insurance to go to the doc to find out what was wrong before it was to late- don't get me started on medicad- very flawed we need obama's scaple.
the best and sorry for the rant,
amy

I totally agree with u about Big O killing it on Tuesday night...just loved his answer about how Joe the Plumber would in fact NOT pay higher taxes under an Obama Administration..damn, he was good that night!

And, I too, am so into MSNBC of late..Keith O. is truly a mensch! And lastly, about that FNC Channel..lol, yeah, that is what is so damn orgasmic about the good ole U.S. of A...ZERO censorship rocks!
