Vegas
This weekend was so much fun in Vegas. Perry invited me out to join him, Carl and Etty for a quick vacation and a few Jane's songs during their collection of Satellite Party songs and Perry's DJ Peretz set. We played hybrid versions of Pigs, Stop and closed with Jane Says. The party was an outdoor/open air, poolside, evening show at the Red Rock Hotel and Casino. We had a spectacular time! Perry and Co. have a really unique and fun thing going with a mixture of great songs, electronics and rock... housed in a nightclub and party environment. A lot of DJs play great music all night long, but these guys really give a performance... Something to watch! Their set combines the DJ ethic with live vocals and instruments, dazzling wardrobe and beautiful dancers all over the stage. Oh yeah... Perry is, of course, as captivating as ever. I can't thank them enough for including me in this event. I sure hope to do more shows with them in the future.

Yes, so roses are red; I made up the rest if you got some big fucking secret then why don't you sing me something?! ;-)
Nah, but I was watching some of the clips of you and Perry in Vegas from over the weekend on youtube this morning and it was cool to hear Pigs In Zen live again although it wasn't the complete band. It's also good to hear that you had a good time. Did you go swimming after the show like Perry had suggested to the crowd? Anyways, I'm not going to get to speculating about a full Jane's Addiction reunion or anything ;-). I see that you never get tired of making out with the dancers on stage do you? haha. A wiseman named Chad once said "Good time all the time." Again, cool to hear you had a good time. Can't wait for the new season of Spread...take care.
Much Love & Respect,
-Kirsten

Love the expression on your face... you look so serious and whatnot. Anyways, I hope that isn't the only part of the episode with you in it...

I'm glad it was such a great experience for you. I was thinking about you last night while I was watching the Miss Universe Pageant. I was wondering what you thought when, for the second year in a row, Miss U.S.A. took a tumble during the evening gown competition?

Hi, love the art! In 1687 or maybe 1688 it was OH so refreshing. And cheap too, lol. I think I paid something like 6.65 to see Jane's in a shitty bar. Yes, of course the Strays album is completely brilliant. But I'm ready for new stuff. New. :-)
Personally I think I got a little too wide. I threw a bunch of crap away, and simplified. But it's like a fresh cut hair, it grows.
Have a wonderful day!

Waitman

1687 or 1688; why in 1687 King James II of England issued the Declaration of Indulgence, suspending laws against Catholics and non-conformists. Meanwhile my ancestors were chilling in West Africa.

Hey you…Saw the YouTube Videos of Saturday’s performance in Vegas…Looks like you had a grand ol’time especially when you planted one on that beauty…Your such a STUD Dave Navarro…;)
Glad to see you back in action and having fun. Totally looking forward to SpreadTV this week. Seems like forever. What’s next on your agenda? Have you had any time to work on your solo? Just curious that’s all and of’ course waiting to purchase.

Nice little LA Times review of Saturdays festivities

You two are an old married couple in another life-you love each other, hate each other, love each other and completely co-dependent! But that's the way we like it!

Read the article mentioned above, I was surprised by Perry saying that you and he had "hated" each other for years. I knew you'd pissed each other off and slung a few words around but 'hate' is such a strong word and emotion that I was taken aback by it. Whatever the emotion, I'm glad you had a good time and managed to lock lips with yet another girl!

How funny...Just watched that "Buzzin" clip on youtube. I was at the Dragonfly when those guys were on your show. It was back in November I think. I had no clue who they were...in fact when I met them out back and they were bummin cigs from me I asked if they worked for SE! lol
They seemed like pretty cool guys...glad to see them doing well, and Im looking forward to seeing that episode where he offers to take a dip with ya! "Not so much" haha Classic.

As I mentioned on your "other" site, I loved the You Tube videos of Sat. Great JOB!
Maybe sometimes you should go on tour with Satriani,Vai, and Johnson! I think Satriani is joining Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony to form a new supergroup
Thanx Amber for your hard work with the KHZ videos and pics also:) At least I can live vicariously through the LA residents!
Keep rockin DN- Besos, Db

Do a Jane's Addiction tour Dave pleeeeeeease before you guys are too old. You don't want to to a reunion tour when you're too old like The Police and have it suck, the time is now Dave, rock on!

Let's fly to Spain, wanna?

Well Explicious, my mom always tells me to be careful who I talk to on the computer and whatnot but you know what? I've never been to Spain before so why not? Just know that I have to return back home safely before August 25th because that's when school starts again and I don't want to have a bad start for my junior year. Anyways, I hear that they have beautiful cathedrals in Spain. I want to go there first so I can take some pictures of me standing in front of them then I could put it on MySpace and caption the pic saying, "I'm in Spain bitches, check out the cathedrals!!" Let me know what you think of this plan and we can meet up… I promise I’m not Chris Hansen with dateline NBC.

Really ace youtubes of Saturday night. And yeah you and Perry pretty much are old marrieds like all best friends - you love each other and have great chemistry! It's the bumps in the road that add to the growing.

ok. perfect. 2015 it is. of course the mayans claimed the world sill stop functioning properly in 2012, which could potentially create a situation involving rain checks and alternate lives, if you believe in that sort of thing.

at July 16, 2008 01:40 PM
Yeah, we were discussing that at work the other day... 2012 being the end. Anyways, if that was to happen, then I'd be doing EVERYTHING (including going to Spain in this matter). However, I'm going to add 100 years to the prediction though... 2112. ;-)

at July 16, 2008 02:18 PM
oh, well i don't think it's a prediction - i think it's just the end of the mayan calendar. Sort of like an odometer going over 99,999 and resetting to zero. Fortunately most people are now using a calendar based on the Epoch, which practically has no limit.

Dave, comme il Belgium ! :)
What's the point in playing Jane's songs...in other bands than Jane's itself??
Me and my friends have been waiting for so long now .. :'( :-p
PS: DECONSTRUCTION is..... just WOOOOOW

Dave,
your guitar work has sometimes had an intriguing far eastern bent. "Of course", "Kettle Whistle" , the intro solo to "Up the beach", your solo in Venus In Furs(live w/Chili Peppers) are a few examples. Do you listen to Indian music? We would like to hear more of this type of playing pleaze, its brilliant.

at July 17, 2008 08:41 PM
does this mean crew were swimming in the pool whilst you were playing?perry does know how to pull a party together and incorporate theatrical elements...should have had esther williams water ballerinas...indian music? you could do a lil sitar piece i am sure;) done earth harps so why not...justin hawkins in his one way ticket to hell album used the sitar and george harrison usually did well on one but don't go tooo bollywood on me unless i get to be the exotic belly dancer or something ok
