Last Night

What a night at the Viper Room last night! The bottom line? We helped raise a lot of money for our good friend Scott P so he can receive the medical treatment he needs. Thank you to everyone who sent in donations, bid on items in during the auction and came to the show to help support this very important cause. We, Camp Freddy, thank you and I know that Scott thanks you! We had an amazing line up featuring Abby from Slunt, Warren DiMartini, Terri Nunn, Corey Parks, Cory Taylor, Billy Duffy, Dave Kushner, Mark McGrath, Stephen Perkins and Chrissie Hynde! Yes, THE Chrissie Hynde. She got up with us for a totally unexpected version of Brass In Pocket and a version of Suffragette City. I think she even threw some Elvis in there if I am not mistaken. So, this is where I'd expect the press to make a big deal out of the performance, but let me tell you this... She turned in what rock is partly all about... Not giving a fuck and having a great time not giving a fuck! Sure, I had to coax her into doing Brass... But once we got there... It was magical! We have done Brass in Pocket many times as a band but doing it with Chrissie was absolutely a highlight in my career. Sure... Making out with her during the song didn't suck either!

Incidentally, here is a clip from last night's episode of The Gong Show. A very rare beardless Dave Navarro made an appearance. I wasn't about to join in for the midget wrestling!!!! You can catch more clips from the show over at the Comedy Central website:

Ok...IF ANYONE knows you they know swapping spit with Chrissy is 1: no big deal, you will kiss anyone ;-) 2: it fufills your older woman obsession.

anyway after all these years do you really care what blogs/internet trash talkers say?

Saw the new Gong show, it cut into my Swingtown time. It was pretty funny. I know how much you love watching the strange and bizarre...

Glad the CF show raised a lot of dough for Scott!! Wish I could have been there but sent a little sumthin sumthin in my absence!

Looks like a blast! Glad it raised a lot of money. Sending wishes for your friend Scott to be well. As for the press and the internet trash talkers well hope they surprise you with: "That was a KICK ASS gig last night by Camp Freddy in aid of a really good cause." But honestly who gives a fuck what they say! You had a great time, seems Chrissy definitely did too. And 'Beardless Navarro' mmmmmm damn sexy :) Have a sweet weekend everyone. xoxox

It's great to hear that you guys had a wonderful night; your smile in that video says it all (you should smile more). However, most importantly, it's great to know that you guys were able to raise a lot of money for your friend. My grandmother was diagnosed with cancer in 2001 so she has been battling with it for the past 8 years and if her diagnosis has taught me anything, its faith. Faith, support, and being optimistic are the strongest thing you can have. So, with friends like you (and all of Camp Freddy) supporting him, I’m sure Scott will prevail and my well wishes do go out to him.

Anyways, on a lighter note, LOL at that midget fighting clip. When the guy hit the other one with the chair; your reaction….OH MY GOD! You were doing a lil bit of drumming on your lap to, showing some excitement weren't you haha. Good times!!

I'll have to check out last night's SpreadTV today or something because I had to work till closing last night and wasn't able to see it but anyways I hope you have a good weekend and take care!

Yo Dave read about the meetings you'll be having with Perry, Eric, and Stephen about a Jane's reunion soon! You guys should tour in the fall and then release an album in 2009. I'm a-ok if you get to work on the album immediately though :-).

Good to hear about the Camp Freddy show and it was cool to see you on The Who Rock Honors!

PS: Seeing DN as a judge on a reality show makes me really miss RSSN. It was one of my favorite summer guilty pleasure...um, i mean show.
