Busy!!!!!

Morning everyone! Been a long couple of days. Just got home from Orlando Florida where I performed with DJ Skribble, Slynkee and J Mello at the Blue Martini club. The addition of DJ Slynkee on drums and Mello with his live vocal stylings has really brought an entirely new dimension to our show. This week is super busy too! We have been taping back to back episodes over at SpreadTV so I can take a little break in June. Today is gonna be huge as we have Mary Carey, Daisy De LA Hoya, the music of Mt. Helium, Everest climber Tim Medvetz, Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof and the music of Steel Panther (formerly Metal Skool). Damn! That's a big day of shows! I will be sure to keep you all informed as to the airdates. Tomorrow is our fourth Camp Freddy show at the Roxy. Only one more after this so if you haven't been able to attend yet, there are two more shows to catch. Then on Friday, I will be filling in for Steve Jones on Indie 103.1FM from 12-2 on Jonsey's Jukebox. Saturday I am off to the East Coast for a stop in AC, a stop in Connecticut and then a stop in New York to meet the Camp Freddy guys... Then, we all fly back for our final CF show at the Roxy! Whew! Just writing it all down makes me fucking tired as hell... But I love it!

DN- Insanely great show at the Blue Martini, with big shots everywhere, including Tiger Woods and Patrick Ewing in the house.

Got a ton of pics (I was standing right in front of the bar), also have a pile of killer video that I will post to youtube. You were rightfully swarmed after the show, and since I don't have boobs so, I didn't stand a chance in getting through.

A ton of pics from the show are on a double secret page on my site, posted here:

Of course you can fill in for Jonesy. your a unofficial Sex Pistol now ;-)

Last Thursday's CF show was KILLER!! It was more than so worth flying 3000 miles for! Anyone who lives in the LA area and doesn't make these shows are fools!

AWESOME show, as Robin said--the three of us (with Kristen) were right in front of you with a perfect view of everything. Great guests (Inez, Cantrell, Budgie, CHAD SMITH!), great energy, setlist, everything. Corey Taylor kicked ass. Thanks.

Loved watching you and Chad interact, and when you were playing the drums during Antmusic--you could see how much fun you were having. Anyone within a day's trip should GET THEIR ASSES out there to see one of the last 2 shows, you have NO IDEA what you're missing.

WEHO was quite a trip too, let's just say our hotel was in a really interesting part of Santa Monica Blvd...

see you soon.

Damn! Pre-taping all the STV shows means no live audience for me. :( Hopefully that will happen sooner than later.

I called the Roxy to get a ticket for Thursday, but they are already sold out! The word is spreading all over LA that this is the hottest (literally and figuratively!) show in town.

Loved you on MadTV...

xoxo
Amber

PS. Sue, Peebs, Kristin and Uncle Creepy...it was an absolute pleasure to meet you all finally, and I hope it happens again soon!

Seriously, you've been to CT TWICE since I moved in February, yet the only stop I've known of before that was when TPC played with Supernova. I'm bitter ... but love ya anyway. Have fun!

Dave CALL ERIC!!!!!

from his blog:

"how do i talk about it all? how do i mention speculating without creating, at the very least, some wild speculation over the coming months. am i considering something with the boys of janes addiction? yes. do i think something of a deserving quality is possible? not as convinced. not yet at least. do i know what it would look like? i have absolutely no idea. would we play a few live shows? would we try to write something? i havent even spoken yet to dave, let alone any other band members, about any of this. but what has changed is that i am considering it all. and not only that, it feels good to consider it.

the other night at the nme was good fun. it felt pretty positive all around. i enjoyed playing those old bass lines (some of which i hadnt even privately played in sixteen or seventeen years). it was a pretty complete pleasure to do on a personal level. i was left with some concerns though musically. our ability as a foursome to focus, to challenge ourselves concerns me. can we bring the urgency to the songs that made them so dynamic in the first place? i dont know. how do we best do that? i am thinking about it. if i can become convinced that we can do that then i am open to trying. but until that point, i can only speculate. it is only the very beginning of a glimmer of a start to this process. it is an idea that could die on the vine, which is precisely why it has taken me this long to post anything, but it is also an idea that is pretty pregnant with possibility. that feeling of possibility in itself is a sea change for me. we will just have to see."

Holy EXCLAMATION points batman!!! You must be excited!
I have been reading very good reviews and hearing of sold out shows for the Roxy Residency. I love the fact that people are getting to experience a true rock band and all the other players in the rock scene. Too bad you can't play a CF show in Minn or ND with Ace Frehley or Bill's favorite Paul:)

Loved the Madtv clip, I was chatting with your fave gal Linda, so missed the show. That was HILARIOUS! You deadpan so well!

Enjoy your chaos, Besos, Db

hey dave,

if you could do it for a future spread show, it would be cool to see a interview with Bob Forrest.

Ode To Dave..

Do your thing Dave..
Dont' let anybody tell you that you've made a wrong move..
You're the funniest guitar hendrix in the sky, bless his soul
Congratulations Dave, you've kicked for tomorrow..
and you solo like no one else on earth..
"suffer some" mother fucker.."Three Days" mofo..
You are my guitar hero...
You will be my muse as long as i live..
I have found what i am looking for, but still am
suffering..
Everything that I need, I already have...
..but i still suffer..
But i am cool because I can hear you..
Remember in "White Men Can't Jump"..Do you really "hear" or just "listen"..hendrix!!!!
But songs are no substiture for love, right..and feeling right!

Dave, I heard your solo in "Loophole" and you were free..
You find freedom in song...
Your suffering comes through in song...
It never has to be complicated with your song..
Your muse is like a butterfly..
gently falling down the breeze sliding air magnificent..
NO ONE plays guitar like you homie!!

luv..zach

DN your schedule sounds hectic as hell nonstop flow, happy you're loving it and glad you're preparing for a little time off. How're you celebrating your birthday this year? I would have posted last night as I read this smiling my ass off but was gripped in the midst of (British) Football / Soccer frenzy, ahem.
So pissed that there's a 14+ hour flight between me and the Roxy. ps: Are you answering your DDD (Dear Doc Dave) mails at Mania tv?!
Enjoy your week sweetie!
Much love. x.x.x.x.x

Have fun at the Roxy tonight! I was gonna go but they're sold out...And as much as I absolutely adore you Dave, standing in the rain (yes, it's thundering in LA everyone who doesn't live here)for hours in the hopes of getting a "possibly released extra ticket" from the box office tonight, just isn't gonna happen.
I'll definitely be there next week though! Lori from Colorado is flying in and SweetMelis is coming out to hang for the evening...it's gonna be fun! :)

I loved the Mad TV clip, my favorite part was when you named all the women you had sex with. I wonder how many Kiefer could name in 24 hours?

Danni, you're a very funny girl....

May the best David win, and he did. Congratulations to David Cook!!!

Busy boy, the way we like it. Any chance of adding a date to do some stuff in the UK at some point, it would rock to have you over here. I think it may also make Vixen's day if you said yes. So what do I need to do to tempt you offer pretty girlies (we have loads over here), homecooking (I can do that), a good laugh (well I think you'd have that where ever you go but you know we'd show you a good time).

And...I just have to say oh Linda! They don't air the results show over here til tonight. Oh well, right result.

Cheers X

Been in and out of here for awhile now but I just thought I'd stop by and acknowledge the fact that I loved the MadTV clip in it's complete form and CFR and Spread are just amazing as ever. I loved how that one family called in to comment on Pink Berry and the little girl was like "HELLO!" and you were trying to have a conversation with them :p. Anyways, I hope that you remain safe in your travels wherver you may be heading. A break is well deserved in June as well... don't forget to do things for yourself here and there ;).

Take care and Much Love.
PS Call Eric!

Oh Dave, you have so much love to give don’t you?

So I just got around to watching last night's Spread and I’m just wondering where in the world do you find these bands/people?! M.A.S.S?! I thought they were AMAZING, cool, and unique. Not to mention that it was funny and cute to see you running around playing everything; the Earth harp, the drum cloud, the lead singer's hair (nice one) and the bass (nice slapping btw) sitar guitar instrument. You really are like a kid in the candy store... you’re a big kid but young at heart and I mean that in a good way not a bad way.

Belinda is always a great guest and I am completely with the idea of you and Todd bringing along the cameras and going “ghost hunting” (I guess that’s what you can call it) with Belinda somewhere in the future. That’d definitely be a great clip/video to see and what if you were to become possess? I’m kind of in the middle when it comes to ghosts and spirits, but I’d definitely be interested in seeing that happen. More than anything, I guess in a “twisted” way or whatever you’d like to call it, I’d love to see you be frightened like a baby. What exactly scares you anyway? Heights, enclosed places, feeling trapped and not being able to escape, what is it?

Sue Ling’s art approach is very simple but yet appealing. I loved how she was being so “pure” with her art and everything and you just couldn’t help but have suggestive thoughts when it came to her Dachshund Lover piece… a night at Dave’s haha. You’re such a flirt and then how she mentioned how she has been married for 19 years… way to go :p. She did roll well with it though. Love twins? I happen to be an older twin by six minutes but my twin is a boy and I’m just a kid but you do have to love those twins... they’re all in my family in fact and I just happen to be one set of them.

Spread does keep on getting better, but I don’t know if I’m too keen on the whole “cleaning up the show” idea because that’s what I love about the show. How raw it is, nevertheless, I will still love it though. I hate talking on the phone and stuff but I just might have to hit up Dr. Dave somewhere down the line…

Have a great/safe Memorial weekend...
-Kirsten
