Some Answers

1. Did you guys get any video footage of your JA experience for a future segment on STV?

A lot of people have asked if Todd filmed the Jane's event at the NME Awards. The show was an exclusive NME event so we did not bring our cameras.

2. When someone's really annoying you, how do you normally deal with it, walk away, suppress your anger or just go for it and say what you think?

Sometimes I'm really good at just walking away and not getting into it, but then again, sometimes I have a hard time biting my tongue and have a tendency to make matters worse by saying what I think... Usually to the point where I am the one who ends up owing the apology... More times than not I can walk away, but actual suppression? Not so good at that!

3. Listened to Saturday's Camp Freddy and not one Jane's mention and you took no calls. Are you avoiding the Jane's question?

That show was taped about a week or so before the event. I was in New York last Saturday. When we do a pre-taped show for CF we are unable to take calls because, well, we are not live.

4. Do you ever feel overwhelmed doing so many things at once? And how do you cope with the stress?

YES! I do... However, when I have two consecutive days off, I start to go a little batty so I try to keep that in mind when I feel like I have taken on too much. As for the stress... Just got to walk through it sometimes.

5. Has Jane's recent activity forced you to put other current projects on hold or be delayed?

No, not at all. We all have lots of stuff going on. Perry has DJ gigs, Satellite Party, Lolla... Eric has his new album, "Help Wanted", Perk has Hellride and Banyan... Nothing has had to be put on hold for anyone but as for personal priorities... Jane's related gatherings are at the top of my list.

Comments

Thanks for the answers DN! Sort of feel like a kid - am wailing - mainly since we know Todd and you would have done such a great job on an NME montage!!! Nevermind.
Damn I can relate to no 2. Well someone once said to me that I had a better relationship with my soul cos of the honesty / not suppressing things. Maybe they were being sweet!! Or maybe you have a healthy soul too :)
Have a great week. xoxox

Hey Dave,

I just had to write and say how damn entertaining CFR was last week! Taped or live, it was a classic! Loved, loved, loved the yogurt bit!

peace-

Not to be greedy, but whilst "some answers" are good (and appreciated), the ones to the meatier questions are glaring in their absence....

Needless to say, there may well be good reason for that (one hopes), but it also adds fuel to rapidly burning fires.

Cheers,

Ali

"...as for personal priorities... Jane's related gatherings are at the top of my list."

That last quote made me smile....Thanx for the answers, Dave. I'm still sooo curious about that fox.com quote...I mean, it comes from Fox so it stands to reason that it's probably total bullshit...but one never really knows, unless it comes straight from your blog! :)

Happy Monday everyone. Love, Amber

Today my mom and I were discussing music in a jokingly serious matter. Anyways, she was trying to be "up-to-date/cool" or whatever she likes to call it when I was listening to the CFR podcast and she overheard it and made a comment asking me, "isn't that Navarro guy dead right? Wasn't he the drummer of that one band but committed suicide?" She went on to tell me a story about you being dead and being a drummer and she was being dead serious! However, I didn't have the heart to tell her that what she was saying was REALLY off/ wrong so I went along with it. The best part though was when she said the band’s name was Navar or something and that’s when I realized that she had mistaken your name for Nirvana and Cobain (although he wasn’t even a drummer). Anyways, I don’t know where she gets her information from or how she made that mistake but good times! Funniest thing I’ve heard today and I even told her that I was going to write to you on your “memorial page.” So, here you go…

In the real world, aside from that, I hope you have a wonderful week wherever you are and I'm loving the q&a's.

Much Love,
-Kirsten

I think all of us, most of all Dave I suspect, are immensely glad that Dave is not in fact dead..... or possibly a drummer. Not easy to be cool, ripped and shirtless when you're hidden behind a drum kit...restricted opportunity for interaction with girlies in the audience too...

Anyhow, thanks Dave for answering, made a shitty day much better. I'm not good at the anger suppression thing either, my smart mouth runs away with me and then I don't look so smart...

There are lots of comments about the latest CFR..any chance it'll be up on iTunes soon? I checked tonight and it's not on. Thanks.

I was saved from the glare of white and pink flesh in town today...torrential rain...made them all stay at home.....and I got soaked to the underwear on the bike.

Take care everyone..............................SB

Anyone who doesn't think there's a cool, ripped, shirtless drummer hasn't seen Brad Wilk (Rage/Audioslave)
Or Sean Kinney (AIC)

**Has visions of Sarah-B in a wet panties contest**

**giggles**

The last sentence you typed makes me smile so big my cheeks hurt, Dave.

hey dave,

this is a pretty odd post to write out but I felt the need to tell you how much Janes has meant to me in recent weeks. YOu see I had a friend die recently, she felt down some steps after a night out on the town, was put into a coma and died a week alter from her injuries. She was a 'mum' to me. The reason Janes has got me through a lot of things that have happened since is because we bonded over that music. She thought it was amazing that a 'young' person even knew who JA was, and I just wanted to steal all her cd's. Subsequently, we've been friends ever since and I miss her dearly. My mixed tape in dedication to her ahas a lot of your music on it.

Thank you
-Lani

I didn't intend to say there were no cool, ripped shirtless drummers - just that Dave so obviously loves attention and being up front that having a drum kit in HIS way would restrict his and our view!!!

K-Nicole, me in wet underwear is NOT hot and I would not be winning any contests, unless, possibly, if was a Bridget Jones type of underwear contest - or a most colourfully tattooed hips on a 42yr old contest - but most likely a "for f**k's sake woman cover that up" contest.

This comment sounds a bit flippant after the serious one above - I hope you come out the other side Lani and remember only good things rather than the loss.

That's it, take care all.......................SB
