SpreadTV, Camp Freddy Contest & Dates

(I really have the best job in the world!) Stuff cranking over here. We are getting ready to re-launch SPREAD TV. Yes, the show went from Spread Entertainment to Spread and now to SPREAD TV. It was a necessary move as all of the "Spreads" get a little confusing to people. Now it should be clear that there is SPREAD TV, Spread Radio Live and The Spread Group. They all fall under The Spread Entertainment umbrella. Coming up on the next few episodes in April we have none other than Dave Mustaine form Megadeth, Margaret Cho and Shelly Sprague, the hot counselor from Celebrity Rehab. Shelly heard that I was considering relapsing just to check in and be counseled by her, so she agreed to be on the show to help me keep it together. Always giving back that Shelly! Dave Mustaine? Are you kidding? We have been trying to get him as a guest since we started up, so we couldn't be more pumped about his appearance. Margaret is a friend of the show and we can't wait to have her back. All this and new music, arts and issues... Plus, our set will be totally revamped. I know that some people have complained that we aren't over at The Dragonfly anymore, but hey... We don't own that place and they were kind enough to let us run the show from there for quite a long time.

Tomorrow Billy and I are back for an all new Camp Freddy Radio. As you know, Camp Freddy, the band, are doing a residency at LA's Roxy Theater during the month of May, every Thursday night. We have decided to do a contest to find our opening acts. DO NOT ask me directly via MySpace or 6767 as the decision is not mine alone to make. (Yes, I have been hit up about this already by many bands. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but we have to keep it fair!)

So here's the deal:
Send all submissions to RoxyContest@mac.com
You MUST include: three songs, 2 youtube videos, a myspace page or a website, a mini-bio and a photo. A radius clause will be in place so the bands performing cannot have anything booked for 30 days within a 30 mile radius. Bands must be available to play any of the five Thursdays in May.
Submission cut off is March 27th, 2008…and winners will be notified April 1st, 2008.

coribook, I'm not sure if Dave Mustaine is from Idaho, but as far as I know, he is living in Fallbrook California now.

I know this isn't a Q&A, but when do you think you'll have a live audience for Spread TV?

God, what I wouldn't give to live in LA this May!!

We're begining to think you don't like us. Hehehe.

Anyho, it's a big weekend on this side of the world. Have "Rock to Wellington" with Alice Copper, Kiss, Ozzy, Poison and Whitesnake. Couldn't go cos of family stuff.. but.. going to Smashing Pumpkins & Queens of the Stone age in Christchurch on Monday..Yay!!
Can't wait to see Billy, never seen them play before.
So that almost makes up for not seeing you play in LA. :)

What's your job again Dave? :p Well I know I can't wait for Spread's return, it seems like it just keeps on getting bigger and better. You guys really have some kicka$$ guests coming up on it and I'll be tuning in like always. Me being a fan of Celebrity Rehab, Shelly Sprague, (so, that's her name) being featured on the show should be a good one. She tells it like it is... Maybe you can have Dr. Drew on the show sometime to? "Dr. Drew touching lives everyday." It was so touching when all his patients were thanking him and his eyes watered up...

Megadeath/Dave Mustaine, well I'll be the one to say that the Guitar Hero series is what really turned me on/introduced me to Megadeath. Playing "Hangar 18" over and over on Expert, it won me over haha.

So I'm guessing the music is staying on the CFR podcasts (either way I love it even though I was on the "w/o music team"). For music themes, what about "grunge," just saying the word grunge... it makes me feel dirty :p. Wished I lived out in LA so I could catch you guys in May because my b-day happens to be in May and that'd be a wonderful present but it’s all good homes.

Just listening to an old SRL - one of the many I've missed - I wish you could just broadcast 24/7, you rarely play music I don't like........also wishing I could download the shows to the iPod.
