Monday Morning

Here is last week's Camp Freddy Radio. This Podcast has all the music included, which seemed like a great idea, but listening back, I'm not sure anymore. Thoughts? The shows have been captured by our friend Chase and he gets the audio from the Indie stream online. As a result the music sounds a little sketchy to me. So... Music or no music? If you wish to subscribe to the Podcast of CFR, just search Dave Navarro on iTunes and you can subscribe for free. Wake up and the show will be loaded in your iPod.

For old time's sake, here is a high bandwidth and unedited version of our trip to Vegas last year. This originally ran on SpreadTV but it came out dark and YouTube won't let us load it without deleting our account. If you decide to view this, be warned that it is for adults and has some colorful moments that some may find offensive.

Speaking of SpreadTV, we are just a few short weeks away from being back in full force. We are currently enabling the ability to embed the shows wherever we want... Other pages, MySpace, 6767, etc. In fact, you will be able to as well!

My vote:
No music. And not that don't adore your or Billy's choices (especially the theme weeks) but I like the "readers digest" version of just you guys shooting the shit. Which is WHY I tune in live stream or listen to the podcast off itunes.
Just my opinion.

And are you telling me you tube will cancel your account because of a little ass or a little shaving of the nuts? Oh for crying out loud, they apparently having been around the Navarro camp. Ain't nothing we haven't already seen.
Speaking of which...some of the old CFR webcam stuff...CLASSIC! :-p

I thought the music was a great idea to, but now I'm leaning towards no music. I think its better that way as well, so there's my vote. I really tune in to CFR to hear you and "governor's" commentary really anyways. You guys are priceless and always make me laugh so save the music for SRL (don't mean to seem harsh). I would subscribe to CFR, but my iPod has reached its limit, but it'd be great to have Billy and Dave to listen to on the way home…. I need to delete some old shows and replace them with new ones...

The Vegas video, can’t say I haven’t been warned haha. On the other hand, I can't wait for Spread to return and cheers on being able to embed the shows anywhere!
Good day gov!

Much Love,
-Kirsten

PS, I'll probably be done with Beautiful Children by next week, so in my own little world/head, I can say that I whooped Dave Navarro's ass in a "read off" :p.

I remember that video..... can't open it up here at work..... gives a new meaning to the term buzzcut....

Have you been able to reschedule John Walsh?

Any thought on bringing on a hypno-therapist?

How about getting back to the Sunday 10?

Lova ya and miss ya, Dave!

Always,
me

I must say I agree with previous posters.. I thought music would be awesome, but found out that all I was waiting for was the witty banter.
But.. maybe there should be music on the themed shows? Just a thought..

Subscribtion sounds good.. but I don't have an Ipod. Yep.. daaamn... I guess I'll just keep doing what I always do, get them from here.

The Vegas video is epic! It's been on my computer for a long time though..! It's always something that put a smile on my face whenever I need it.

Much love
Aggie

My vote is for no music. I just love hearing you guys shoot the shit.

Hope everyone is doing well. Sarah-B...you still alive???

Take Care, Dave...

Not watched the Vegas clip this time round, but I seem to remember an almost subliminal gratuitous vagina shot in the middle of it! Has that survived?!!

Anyhow...CFR, I haven't listened to the 'with music' version yet, but in principle I'm all for it. Some of the old stuff you play reminds me of my teenage years and it's great to hear, also I'm curious to hear other stuff I'd not normally listen too. I listen to it on iPod so I think if I didn't like the music, I'd fast forward. I appear to be in the minority though, I'll have to listen and come back with a more informed opinion.

Apparently it's not St. Patrick's Day today, the Church 'owns' it and for some reason it is not allowed to be within a week of a religious holiday, i.e. Easter - St. P's day was allegedly last Fri or Sat - does the Church 'own' St. Patrick's day in America?? Sounds nuts to me, but hey-ho....

Happy whatever day it is........................SB

PS - K-Nicole, I'm still waiting for the medical tests to come back regarding that - I think I have pulse but there's a question mark over brain activity.....just feeling uninspired! How's the love life?! Take care, X

I remember watching this video on SE, and my favorite part is all the phone calls to Riss about the chicks in the magazines. The video is clearer now, in more ways than one!

dave, i'm with you. i thought the music would be cool, but i skipped through most of it. i say delete it.

curt

ps: definitely watch breaking bad. you will love it. if you don't, i'll give you your money back.

NO MUSIC.

Posted by: Six7Six7 [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 17, 2008 04:16 PM

I remember the video and it was a delight to see it in full clearly. Youtube can be asssssssssss hooooooles at times. The pump made me laugh, you were definitely attached to it, cute. I was really confused what it was for til a moment of clarity.

Music on CFR - the quality doesn't sound the same as yours and Billy's vocal interludes, don't get what changes if they're both captured the same way? It's annoying because of the quality. Loved hearing the whole show though - I guess it's just a question of familiarity and what people are used to. It's bugged me for ages that I never got to hear the songs - I have to say I loved the whole episode, but then I hate feeling like I'm missing anything!! And either way, it's you and Billy which light my i-pod or rock the speakers.

Suggestions for themed shows - Disco Grunge - electronica! How about gay death metal :))

Sarah...

Love life is AWESOME..thanks for asking. I'm so completely blissfully happy it's really rather nauseating at times. LOL

Well, my vote is FOR music in the podcast...a lot of songs I've never heard and its one of my main ways of being turned on to "new" shit. People who don't want to hear the songs can always just skip ahead...kinda like taking a topping off a pizza that you dont like...don't deprive everyone else of what they may want! haahaha

Looks like I'm vastly outnumbered on that, but I just had to throw my thoughts in there anyways. :)

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone! xoxo

Hi Dave. Happy Easter.

Keep the music. Yes, those not into it can forward through it. When it comes down to it I do listen for your keen insights, but I HAVE to have the music, too. I HATE hearing the opening bar of some killer track that you took all that time(!) choosing and realizing that's IT - it's cut.

No question, THE MUSIC HAS TO STAY!!! The sound was OK with me until the last 15 minutes when it was buggered. I come from an age of scratchy records and AM radio so the show sounded great on the iPod. There was stuff on the show that I wouldn't normally hear - can't believe you played Gary Glitter, blast form the past that! Don't hear him on UK radio, can't think why............. Also that Cranberries cover was probably the gayest thing you've ever played...also loving the Black Light Burns track more every time I hear it. Yep, the music has to stay, music is such an integral part of what you and Billy do and why many of us come here that to cut out your personal choice of music is just not right!!! There is the fast forward button...

K-Nicole, lucky you...........................SB

Please keep the music!!! CFR is the best show I've ever heard. You rarely play a song I don't like. It sucks to listen to you guys talk about all of these awesome tracks and then not get to hear them. Especially when you premiere a new CF or Diablo track or something like that. The people who only listen to the talking shouldn't be listening anyway, they are obviously poseurtoolhagbitches! flame on!

Posted by: bailorgana [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 18, 2008 05:40 PM

Keep the music! I download the podcast much more often than listening live and nothing is worse than when you and Billy start laughing after a song (especially gay jam songs) and I don't know what you are talking about.
If people don't like the music then why can't they just download Billy's podcast instead? See...we can all be happy.

I agree with keeping the music:) I DEARLY miss SRL, so I love the hearing the music you play. I am always interested in the different genres of music. I think it goes with your belief in exposing different artists to people.

You KNOW they won't hear some of this stuff on the fluffy stations!!

Kudos to you! Happy Wednesday:) Besos, Db

Although I've found the themed shows massively entertaining without the music, I reckon it'd help to hear the tunes you're talking about (having been a hair-metal hater back in the day - dirty riffs 'n' bedheads, not widdley solos 'n' hairspray). Not really fussed otherwise. I can always skip past the tunes if I'm not in the mood. Can NOT listen live though as the ads drive me nuts.
I'm sure that didn't help.

No music on Podcast hon, just you and Billy or whoever is with you on the broadcast.

Congrats on your Spread Entertainment Live being on Gene Simmons Family Jewels not only once, but twice. Loved seeing you and your show being featured and getting a MAD PLUG! WOOT!

Hey Dave--The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
It's spring big guy. Have a blast. Hasta luego!

I vote to keep the music. I have SO missed being able to listen to newly archived shows all the time on the SRL website - they helped me expand my music horizons. Putting the music into the CFR podcasts will help fill that void I think.

love to hear your vocals actually... a lullaby ?..ha one that rocks that bed of course...was it cold in chicago?

Posted by: karen [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 20, 2008 12:56 AM

I say stay with the tunes. I'm in the UK so the podcast is my only way to listen (8 time zones) Saves me writing down the tunes to find them later. I think it adds context. Love it.

Well finally listened to the radio show, I vote keep the music!! It was funny about Billy talking about getting the ferry turned back, reminded me I once got a whole liner ship on course from Aus to England redirected as a child, but not due to drugs, only phanton appendicitis. Anyway I like the music!!!
