Morning... So, what's the deal with MRirian? I'm not really sure. I stumbled upon her page by accident and the only information I have is that she is awesome! I am currently trying to either get her on Spread or at least get her to do a, "Hi... You're watching Spread!" for us. I guess she kind of reminds me of a living Margaret Keane painting. I happen to own a Keane myself. Either way, I am a fan of MRirian. There is an avant garde innocence about her VBlogs that is both captivating and thought provoking. Go stare into a camera for 60 seconds. It is oddly somewhat challenging.
Gary announced that you were going to be on Howard Stern. Is that still going to happen?
I think so. I want to say the 11th? I'll be in NYC that week so I am pretty sure it's still on. That show is always fun. At the very least I'll have a chance to respond to some past topics of discussion.
Tomorrow Todd and I are going into the Mania studio to pretape the Whitley Strieber interview, so sadly it will not be live for discussion or messenger. If you have any questions for Whitley, you can ask them here and I will try to ask a few on the show. Agian on Wednesday, we are taping with John Walsh of America's Most Wanted. I am super looking forward to meeting him as well, considering I owe John and his show a lot! If it wasn't for John and AMW, my mother's murderer may have never been caught.

Those interviews should be awesome! I asked a few months ago if you would consider John Walsh - I can't wait to see this!
I wondered, Dave, is there an artist you would like to work with, but haven't had the honor yet? Who would that be?

I guess MRirian is somewhat avant garde in a voyeur sense but it's still a little creepy...little bit.
Soooooooooo NYC.........besides "Life" in CT got anything else going down? ;-)

Oh! Can't wait to see those shows, nice people to interview I bet it will be interesting!
About MRirian, I agree with Robin. A bit scary but in a good way. I like it!

MRirian is a pretty girl, innocent-looking and the video is sweet in its innocence, however, I'd be freaked out if I was her mother. There are so many perverts out there on the web, that that innocence is just going to draw them to her like flies to sh*t. I think what disturbs me is something so obviously sweet will be so easily and quickly tainted by others.
Sorry Dave, the Margaret Keane painting is just not my taste. I find that kind of distorted 'cute' imagery quite disturbing. It might stem from a childhood nightmare or image I saw, but I steer clear of that type of picture. I probably wouldn't let it in my house....sorry for totally dissing your picture!! Anyway its yours so as long as you like it, it doesn't matter what I think. I see the similarities between MRirian and the painting though.
I can't think of any intelligent questions as I know nothing about either of the guys. I hope the AMW section doesn't upset you. You mention your mother's death relatively often, but speaking as a distant observer, I'm not aware of you mentioning things she did when she was alive. I'm not sure what I am trying to say here, but I just hope the good memories you enjoyed with your mother, far outweigh the tragedy.
Take care and love to everyone.......................................SB

I can't believe anyone would exploit their child like that, putting her at risk of being stalked by predators!

It's been a long while since I have posted on here. Like 2 years long time. The video blog of this girl... creepy!
Glad to hear you are doing well dave.

To be completely honest, I don't see what's so "grabbing" about MRirian. I believe my baby cousins or any other little innocent pure kid could make video's just like her, not trying to diss your thoughts on her at all, because I respect your opinion. It's just not appealing to me; it's not my "thing." However, I guess I can see what it is that people like about her videos, her purity and innocence but if she was my kid, I wouldn't allow her to put video's up on youtube as already mentioned. It almost makes me wonder what she'll be doing 10 years from now.... sitting in front of the camera throwing up peace signs in the nude :-/.
Wow, I'm really looking forward to seeing John Walsh on Spread. I remember watching AMW and Unsolved Mysteries all the time and I swear I would see these people who were featured on the show when I was out. In a way I somewhat became paranoid, but that's what happens when you watch it as a little kid I guess. Anyways, AMW has helped out many people, including you, and it's very touching and inspiring. He's an ordinary guy that has an effect on so many people's life, in a way I would consider him a hero. "There goes my hero, he's ordinary." I'm completely with Sarah-B as well...

Jeez....just watched all of the MRirian videos on youtube. I can't tell how old she is and whether it is Japanese she is speaking, but the most depressing thing for me is I can't watch them without worrying about what 'others' may think of her. It is a shame that life experience has made me lose the ability to enjoy such innocence.

Dave, Thanks for the opportunity to ask questions for tomorrows interview…I’m totally stoked!!!
1. Waking up and finding yourself around different beings…what was going through your mind? Were you able to converse with them? What did they want? Did you feel as it were a dream?
2. What type of advice do you give to people who have claimed to have been abducted but can’t seem to understand what has happened or feel as they are having a mental breakdown?
3. Have the “visitors” given you any indication of when and or if they would make themselves known to the world?
4. Do you remain terrified of being abducted?
Regarding Mririan…She’s a cute little girl…I’m not sure what to think of it…I would love to know what she is saying…TRANSLATOR PLEASE…. Anyway thanks again!
Camp Freddy was hilarious…YAY!! Glad to hear you are spending time with your loved one…Give her our love.
Take Care Papa!!! YR

She is actually an intelligent woman (yes, woman) between the age of 21-25. She is very good with make-up and camera angles so that she is able to make herself look very young. (By nature, she probably looks young for her age anyway.) But as many youtubers have mentioned, her body is well-developed. She is totally obsessed with Japanese culture.
She used to post regularly on a message board at http://www.outpostnine.com/forum
Her original username was Mririan, but she has changed it to User345 and deleted some of her old posts. However, there are still some of her posts lying around where it is clear that she is an intelligent person capable of a good discussion (not the immature child you see on youtube). From the forum, she is referred to as Maggie and has stated that her middle name is Lillian (Ririan is obviously derived from this, and MRirian most likely stands for Maggie Lillian--whether this is her real name or not has not been determined.
As discussed on the forum, she says that she is white and part Cherokee. Board members also mention that her Japanese accent is not very good, but many youtubers believe that her Japanese is authentic. She lives somewhere in rural Pennsylvania near Amish country, but whether she is Amish herself is unknown.
Personally, I am thinking that this is some type of social experiment by Maggie to create some controversy or for her own personal amusement. Since she has been accepted into YouTube's Partnership Program, she is also getting revenue from all the hits she received from her videos.
Below are some normal pics of her outside of her usual setting. (The links are working at the time of this post, but may be deleted if she finds out.)
The first picture is of her in a car. The second picture of her is in Chinatown, Pennsylvania. The third picture of her is supposedly of her rescuing a dog she found in the snow.

I found that post on a Yahoo Q&A board. I feel better knowing she's probably 21.

For some reason those links aren't working, so here's and update:
Posted by: Linda from San Diego at January 28, 2008 03:57 PM
oops, an update, I hate looking stupid!!
Posted by: Linda from San Diego at January 28, 2008 03:58 PM
"but whether she is Amish herself is unknown"
If she were she wouldn't have a camera, computer or ELECTRICITY.
Sheeesh didn't any of those Quincy's over at Yahoo ever see the movie "Witness"?
Posted by: Robin at January 28, 2008 04:05 PM
well, all i can say is that it's amazing to me that someone doing basically nothing can stir so much conversation. It's so interesting how two people can perceive someones actions in such a different light. For me, at first i thought it was wierd, now I think it's brilliant. Some people are motivated by others reactions.....I think it's kinda cool. Thanks for stirring the pot today Dave! it's been fun
Posted by: SweetMelis at January 28, 2008 04:51 PM
I'd just like to say that I didn't mean to appear as being rude when I stated my opinion on MRirian's VBlogs. Now, that I know that she's a grown woman who decides to stare at the camera for 60 sec. doing absolutely nothing and she isn't a kid, my thoughts have somewhat changed. Each to their own.
Posted by: Kirsten at January 28, 2008 06:31 PM
hahaha Robin!! You crack me up.
Tripped out videos of that girl. I'm very much looking forward to the John Walsh interview segment. If you're taking questions for him, here's a couple possibilities:
~Do you ever get threats from people because of the work you do? (I'd imagine a lot of criminals and their loved ones would consider him the bain of their existence!)
~Is there any one particular case which you found especially heinous or disturbing...something you haven't been able to forget about or that stands out in your mind amongst the thousands of cases you've covered.
~What is his educational background?
Just a few to consider...thanks for the opportunity, per usual :) Love, Amber

MRirian: Dave honey, um - you spend a lot of time surfing!!
Really looking forwards to seeing this show. Seen AMW on TV here too.
Does AMW receive government funding and how did they get started and survive financially - completely amazing job John Walsh does. Hope that isn't cheeky.
Also, emotional for you. Hugs.
Have a good week.

What type of evidence have UFO's left behind?
I look at past civilizations like the Maya for instance and their advanced knowledge of mathematics and astronomy spook me out.I hope you can ask Whitley if there's any evidence to a connection between all of this.
Posted by: Winston77 at January 28, 2008 11:33 PM
sorry to burst your bubble Dave, but MRirian is a hoax of sorts... take a look here: http://www.jonathanseneris.com/?p=82
but she definitely does look like a breathing Keane painting! My old work place, Neal S. Blaisdell Center (Honolulu) has an original Keane painting that you would TOTALLY DIG! I'll see if I can get a pic of it - it's one of the early, dark, haunting paintings.

dave, whats the post break up of a long relationship like for you?..do you ever find someone else decent almost straight away but doesn't got for it coz you dont want to make it seem like a rebound?
Posted by: lovingthemari at January 29, 2008 01:32 AM
With AMW, what is the percentage of cases solved through the program? It's a great program and I wondered if they still highlight any of the older unsolved crimes.
In 1980, a police officer, Greg Adams, was shot and killed in Saxonburg, PA (I attended school there at the time). The man wanted in the killing was Donald Eugene Webb and he used to be on the FBI's most wanted list. The crime has never been solved. I just wondered if AMW still actively pursues old cases like this. It was on AMW in the 90's, I think.
But bless them for all the good work and all the bad guys they do get and hope they continue to keep getting them!

Well I just want to know if there was a full moon when he saw the wherewolves. Then I will know when to look out for them.
Also, me and my colleague put this pic of you on the cupboard on our room to cheer ourselves up, we have quite a few pics of good looking people on there now, along with our boring timetables etc, and several kids gathered round it and asked "Who's THAT?" So of course I answered "Oh thats my boyfriend," But they just laughed and went "HAHAHAHA no he is NOT!" I'd like to think the reason they know you are not my boyfriend is because they saw my real boyfriend picking me up from work, but I know the real reason they are so sure you are not my boyfriend is because you look like a cool attractive famous Rockstar and I am an uncool veering towards middle age poverty strcken teacher with greying hair and a gunt. Oh well!
I suppose one question you could ask Wesley is whether he believes in alternate or parallel existences, because I'm sincerely hoping I have another somewhere!! Well sometimes.

Also that mrrilian wouldn't be the first to play around with a camcorder on youtube, so I don't get all the complaints, I think her videos have her own style, very simple, unique, aesthetic, very cool. Well, must get a life and stop leaving comments on here.
Posted by: tiffanybean at January 29, 2008 10:09 AM
lol... check out the 'response' video... pretty classic.

I think MRirian is some what interesting artistically. Maybe our eyes look innocent too as we gaze into the various websites and message boards desperately trying to make contact. hahahhha.

You just love controversy don't ya baby bro? I would like to know who photoshopped the eyes from the Keane painting onto MRirian? You're twisted!! HaHa
Posted by: Linda from San Diego at January 30, 2008 07:52 AM
Wow.....someone on the internet appearing to be something they are not......fancy that!
She must be making a fortune from all the perverts hitting on her videos.
What's a 'gunt'?

I have a few requested questions for Whitley:
1. Where exactly did he live in Upstate NY? Where is his old house from the "Communion" days located, and does he ever visit? I live nearby and I've always wanted to hike in that forest. Could he "google earth" it for us? (or send me the link?) I swear I won't invade anyones privacy...just want to hike nearby.
2. What are his thoughts regarding humanities tendency to always have some end times prophesy looming in the not to distant future. What is that shit all about!? Where does he stand,..Does Whitley plan on selling books past 2012 or not?
Posted by: lhr at January 30, 2008 03:36 PM
Sarah...Look it up on Urban Dictionary.com or i'll drop it in your email. It's not exactly a "PC" word...
Still hysterically funny though
