6-9
6. What's the biggest difference between the porn industry and the music industry?
Ha! In porn, the performers go into the business KNOWING that they are going to get fucked!
7. With the development of the Spread Group and subsequent artist signings, do you worry you may be starting to slide down the slippery slope to the corporate behavior you have tried so hard to escape from?
The whole point with our firm is to offer a place that is the antithesis of the corporate self serving structures out there. We do what's best for our artists, keeping their wishes and needs at the forefront of our focus. We don't lock anyone into a contract of any kind.
8. Do you ever really respond to e-mails or comments?
Not often. I DO read them all but the truth is that I get so many comments, questions, suggestions and requests that it would be impossible to answer everybody. So, if a question, comment or e-mail doesn't illicit a response... Know that it has not fallen on deaf ears.
9. Do you have any idea when the shows will be live and accepting IM's?
It really varies. Lately we have been having to pre-tape some shows in order to accommodate our guest's schedules. For instance, next week I have a full hour dedicated to Whitley Strieber, author of Communion. As it turns out, he is not available on a Thursday so we will have to tape that show. As soon as we have a live show I will let you know through posts and bulletins. Obviously, if we are live the IM's will be active.

Wicked snip of that youtube..
Loved the answers, thanks for making me giggle on this cold evening in the UK.
I like the fact there is hope with the emails lol - so you may actually one day respond! And on that day I would hit the deck so hard I'd wake up and think I'd dreamt it!
Have a sexy week.

Yay! Thanks for answering my 'corporate' question...reading it back I thought it may have sounded a bit cheeky, but that wasn't the intent. I was curious because I've heard so many people bitching at work over the years about crap managers and crap management....then when the loudest complainers claw their way up the management ladder they act like bigger bastards than the people they bitched about. It' a depressingly regular occurrence - just curious as to how you were going to get around it.
Thanks. Take care...........................SB

Ha.....just realised my comment above inferred I thought you were going to become a 'bigger bastard'. I'm typing bollocks because I'm tired, that was not my meaning at all!! It was just a badly explained random story..................SB

I like that answer, they go into the business knowing they're going to get fucked. That's how I feel about marriage!
On another note, I am saddened and shocked that Heath Ledger died today. They found sleeping pills scattered around his bed. They are not sure if it was accidental, or intentional. He's only 28, reminds me of my son. How devastating for his family!!

You know.....
That angle never worked for me at clubs.
Maybe next time I'll try it while dressed like Princess Leia.

Ah! Whitley Strieber! Author of "Wolfen"!
This is a credible guy.."Communion" was the
book that launched him into the "He wrote
THAT?!" category in the literary critics world.
The reviews were mixed. Hey, if you don't
like the book, close the cover. But "Communion"
was pretty cool.
Love to you, busy soul! xx a.wolf

Linda from SD, I'm fucking shocked as hell about Heath Ledger's death as well. It kind of reminds me of River Phoenix's death, he was so young and talent but you're so stunned about it, you really don't know what to say. I'm really hoping that it was a accidental overdose and it wasn't suicide because he had a 2 year-old daughter that he was apparently really close with and he was a good father, so if it was suicide, how fucking selfish :(. His performances in Lords Of Dogtown as Skip and his performance in the indie film Candie were exceptional. I don't know about seeing him in Batman's The Dark Night now.... sheesh, R.I.P.

On a lighter note, nice one Dave! They know that they're going to get fucked hahaha. Well, even though I'm underage, I now have 2 ways to sneak into the club now. I can get a fake I.D. and my new name will be McLovin' or I can use the force and say that I'm Dave Navarro's friend.

Dave, I was thinking it'd be a great idea if you would send out a bulletin on MySpace and even better, also a post here letting SRL fans know that 8mm is hosting SRL on Tuesday nights. Just a suggestion. Juliette is great and has great musical taste.
I'd mentioned 8mm to you a LONG time ago and was excited when I saw their bulletin about hosting SRL's. Small world. Anyhow, I think fans liked when Pull hosted shows and I'm sure they'll love it all the same with Juliette.
Anyhow, just a suggestion I hope you consider.
Your answer to question 6... That's our Dave.

On Heath's death, it kind of seems more and more like an suicide. He made a comment late last year saying that he no longer had to live because he could live on in his child, yet his family said he wasn't depressed or suicidal. At the scene there were pills found surrounding him and he actually had a appointment planned, that's how they found his body. It's just sketchy. The thoughts of the papparazi and TMZ rushing to the apartment and trying to get pictures of him disgusts me!

Hahahaha! Dude, was that Dunngeon stuff for real?? That was one of the funniest, weirdest things I've seen in forever. I don't think I've ever seen you look uncomfortable like that, Dave. How bad was it really?

Went to get the train, everyone reading paper on train, all that was on the covers was a pic of Heath Ledger, so sad, he was so young and leaves behind a two year old daughter, the whole jourrney to work I had tears in the back of my eyes. I never even saw BrokeBack mountain before.

Hola - Checking in to say "hi" and congrats on the recent awards (so awesome) and other activities. Sounds like there are many exciting, promising things on the horizon. I applaud your ability to be so flexible and creative and open-minded, and to embrace a variety of cultures and experiences.
The answer to #6 is, of course, funny and insightful. I think there's a certain level of screwing that goes on in any field or area of life. It's human nature. IMO, the key is to make sure you're getting as much as you can out of it. And if you're in the position to call the shots to some extent... even better. (All of which makes DN a smart man!)
Quickine regarding Heath Ledger... It's very, very sad and unfortunate. He had a lot of talent and promise, so much to live for. RIP. Whether he OD'd deliberately or not, he was certainly flirting with the idea of death and had to know that. In some strange way, I kinda respect that he kept it on the DL and didn't belabor it, drag it out, and make a big, huge, ridiculous media spectacle of it all. But that's a whole other convo for another time and place...
Love to all,

hello linda polver checking in.
Can you work in another issue-question??
its about making eye contact. so many higer ups (at work)i work with DO not make eye contact and ask me to remind my staff to NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT. why? i have my own theories but what are yours? i am shy at times and waer a hat or sunglassess, but i look folks in the eye. i mean this is the southern nicey-nice culture in charlotte nc.
then Whitley Strieber??!!!! oh la la, my fave!cool! thank you!!!!!!!!! i cannot wait to see the interview. you will need a 2nd hour, lol. he does some radio on coast to coast radio, i adore coast radio.
one day can you get some one on ;string theory, synchronicity and singularity?
and we know you read all we say, we do not need replies or personal comments from you. Dave and Todd does enough.
the old vs new business models? are you seeing any business trends in your industry??
ok, enough from linda, everyone take care, peace, blessings. rock on 6767!

Not sure I have the desire or energy to embrace insulting Dave every time I type on 6767, K-Nicole!! Though, unintentionally calling him a big bastard is one of my more memorable posts....anyway I would start getting abuse from nitwits.
Regarding unintentional comments, just spent a couple of days interviewing people....when answering the 'politically correct behaviour' question one of them declared that "There was no place in Scotland for bigamy".........I think they meant to say 'bigotry'. So if you're a bigamist....don't come to Scotland, there ain't no room for ya.
Linda P that's a weird one about eye contact, I wouldn't be impressed if someone wouldn't make eye contact with me - I'd think they were concealing something or lying to me. It's also rude unless someone is very obviously shy and can't help it.
Happy Wednesday everyone.....................SB

DN honey -
I have one last question, it's not serious but it has been niggling at me lol..
When 6767 comes up in my browser whether it's internet explorer or mozilla - there is this REALLY cute little icon that looks a bit like you. Is it meant to? Did you design it? (Do you have a clue what on earth I'm talking about!)
Thanks.
Much love
