Miami

It has been a minute since I have checked in. Primarily because there really isn't much going on. I'm getting ready to fly to Miami tonight as I have a Skribble gig tomorrow and then I am turning around and coming straight home for the holidays. Incidentally, here is a really nice article by Liz Kelly that ran in the Washington Post. Thank you Liz, for actually printing what I said. Not a lot of journalists do that anymore. They look to squeeze out the sensationalism. It's a straight up interview and I appreciate Liz's approach.

The Gina Gershon/Ben Lee show is now up on ManiaTV and the Hal Sparks/Verena Mei episode is soon to be up in a couple days. Next week we have Mellowdrone and a fashion show from Frederick's of Hollywood. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. xoxoxo

I know two cute chicks down in Miami that love to dance.

Unfortunately one is 22 months and the other is 3 years old. Well their Mami is quite a looker too. I told her about it. Maybe she'll show up. Have a great time!
I did watch last night and another great show! I only wish it were live because I had a few questions for Hal Sparks.

Have a fantastic Holiday!

Damn good article/interview! Yeah, when I was messed up, I didn't go out either. Gr8 minds think alike. No dui's, etc. etc. It's like, man, there are so many ppl in L.A. and a shortage of cops, so really, if you are getting dui's in L.A. or L.A. county, 1 is pretty fucked up, trust me! Now, if you are in some butt f'd state with less ppl and more cops, of course u should just stay indoors...;) Being clean is the most fun, I have ever had, with my clothes on....peace~

P.S. I love my Washingtonpost.com update emails! Best paper/online edition around, bar none! Cheers.

I loved the interview. Your response to this question was pure class:

You've navigated your career pretty well. I know you've been through some darker times and struggled with some addictions and you seem to have come out the other end of that okay. What do you say to someone like Amy Winehouse, who seems to really be having a hard time holding it together?

"Anything I'd have to say to Amy Winehouse, I would say it to her."

I really do respect your response, but I have to fuck with you and ask would you have been so diplomatic if the question had been about Russell Crowe? HaHa

Hi again, sorry for triple post. Great interview!
Appreciate your vibe on music, industry, flexibility and artistry, it's a theme lately - hope it gets through to everyone else out there and they stop tryin to slap a restrictive label on your forehead.
Alternate reality Xmas, hahaha!!

A good interview, but then you tend to be sharp and articulate. I thought the comments after the article were good too, you impressed a few people who appeared to think you were brainless!!

Yeah, Amy Winehouse...not having a good time of it with the tabloids recently. 6 months ago it was Pete Doherty and Kate Moss, now it's Amy. I'd rather see pictures of her doing well than looking a bit like shit.

Is no-one working next week? I have to go in on Monday, but we should be able to leave early. It seems that everyone else has packed up for the holidays already and I'm feeling left out!!

I hope everyone has a great holiday and a good time with family and friends. I send my love to all you 6767ers out there and you especially Dave. Take care................................SB

PS KansasNicole, re your last post.....I don't know what you mean!! A crude time indeed, I'm way too British for that (this all has to be read in a haughty Queen's English accent!). I was last in the US in 2005, so may be a while before I go again......also I am a lot more interesting on the internet than in person - I think you'd be massively disappointed! Happy holidays!!.....SB

Great Interview!…Dave, you are one smart cookie. I was telling Margaret the other day when I read your blog I tend to pick up new words, such as; Ad infinitum and juxtaposition just to name a few, recent…keep them coming... I’ve used them in conversation with friends and they give me this look like “huh”…lol Then I get to explain what it means, because by then I already looked it up…

Have fun in Miami and have a Wonderful & Blessed Christmas with your family & friends... Take Care and God Bless.

Lots of Love
Yoli

Have a wonderful Holiday everyone and God Bless!

Great interview Dave. Just wondering what you think. If a reality show causes stress, and a lot of stress forces growth, both good and bad, which in turn causes people to change. How they handle that change is a reflection of that growth. So do you think its possible for two people, in a relationship, to go through a lot of stress, change, grow, and still come out the other side togeather? I'm not really thinking about you and CE but me and mine. We've had a really stressfull year and it seems to be driving us apart, even though we still care about each other.

Awesome interview Dave. I wish Amy would pull her act together quickly. She's very talented.

Have a very Merry Christmas!!!!!!!

Sarah-B...Queen's English my ass...LOL Have a GREAT holiday and I am sure you would be fascinating in person.

Posted by: KansasNicole [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 22, 2007 12:27 PM

I think it's the Queen's English because she's the only one who speaks it. Who else would complain about their year being "annus horriblus" (spelling?) in their televised annual Christmas speech after half their castle burnt down?....And it wasn't her only castle...she has others. There you are Yoli - more Latin for you, though I think you may be struggling to fit that in a sentence for your friends - sounds more like a digestive disorder than a 'bad year'

On that note, I think I better get some sleep............SB

For all of my lovely '67er's stateside, or wherever one may be found, always remember, when desperately needing a restroom, never forget the magic word, "Starbucks!" Where the coffee is overpriced, and underwhelming. :) Starbux, we do coffee badly, just for u!! Seriously, I never fret about finding a clean place to wee wee any longer! They are everywhere...make the negative work 4 u! Feliz Navidad, to everyone reading this~

Hi DN (again.)
Just got asked to write a review for Broken. Hope you're ok with what I wrote. xxx

"'Broken' - written and directed by Dave Navarro is his directorial debut into the Adult film world. A brilliant Musician, Navarro really showcases the fact he is a talented artist, moving between mediums with ease.
Broken is hot and sexy. Sleek with an edge. If you like your films stylistic with a director who actually has a presence, then this is for you. The story of a girl in an abusive relationship, a surreal sexy trip through various scenes and couplings. The film starts with some of the best camera work and footage I've ever seen in an Adult film.
Sex is not always sweet. 'Broken' is aptly named and beautifully shot. The DVD extra's are fantastic - there is plenty to explore and discover, revelation being seductive as ever. The behind the scenes making of is insightful and wickedly delicious, the personal touch, which Navarro is so great at, 'including' his audience and letting them in on the direction he's taking. He's easy on the eye, relaxed infront of the camera and super-talented behind. Enjoy!"

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to all!!

Thx for sharing the WP article. It was refreshingly in-depth... If only they could all be that way, right? Hopefully we'll see more coverage like that again in the future; delving into the mind of an artist and treating someone as a human with feelings rather than a mere product.

At the end of the day, though, this media stuff is all smoke and mirrors anyway. What matters is how you feel inside when you do what you do. If something feels right, that's all that matters.

Wishing you continued joy, passion, love, and inspiration now and always!

Cheers,

Merry Christmas to all 67ers! Dave, have a great holiday with your family!

Where there is light,
there is hope.
Where there is friendship -
peace and truth.
Christmas is a time
for celebrating the special people
in our lives.
When I cannot find my way,
I light a flame.
And at Christmas . . .

I think of you

To all the 67ers,Deez Nutz, and Panic Agents:)

p.s. thanx for the great interview, Liz did a great job!
