Merry Christ-Mass Text
Holiday mass texts? Are you kidding me? This is becoming an epidemic. I have about two or three close friends and my family. That's about it and I like it that way. I talk to them often and rarely have a need to text them with the exception of once in a while. However, because of the nature of my work and the fact that I have been alive for 40 years, I have about 1000 numbers in my phone. As a result, holidays have become a cellular nightmare. Every two or three minutes another mass holiday text comes in with some little cute play on words or sexual innuendo in the spirit of whatever holiday it is. So annoying! No, it doesn't make me feel special or that they were thinking of me or how sweet it is that they are in the spirit... They may as well just write, "Hey everyone! Don't forget about me!!! Notice me! Attention! I want attention!!!!" I woke up this morning with about 40 holiday texts from people I haven't heard from in years with the exception of Thanksgiving and Halloween! Plus, I am the kind of guy who thinks that every time the phone rings, it COULD be that one call that's going to change everything. The million dollar idea, the girl that got away finally came to her senses, the creative dream that's about to come true... You get the idea. It's kind of like a continual buzzing and beeping let down all day long. Even worse... When one comes in from someone you would actually love to hear from and you're like, "Hey! So and so sent me a text!" Then you realize they just sent it to everyone. :( It may as well just say, "HI! I wasn't thinking of you... I'm just making sure that I come off as really giving and loving this time of year. Basically, I am just making it all about me! Yay for me!" BZZZZZZZZZZ "If Santa had mistletoe on Thanksgiving instead of a cat we'd be blah, blah, blah..." Now, I never mind the personal holiday texts. "Dave, blah, blah, blah" That's fine. I think it's the "send all" feature that gets to me. What's the thinking anyway? "Oh, we aren't doing cards this year, we are mass texting!" I was even going to send one out to make a point that read, "Hey everyone. Don't feel so special. I am not necessarily thinking of you, this is just a mass text." You know, my own little bitter play on the whole thing... But then I realized, "Replies! I'd be inundated with replies. Can't have that!" As I was writing this little rant I received a personal text. I was so moved that I wrote back, "Wow! Was that just sent to me? God bless you for not mass texting me." A tear almost came to my eye. Anyway, to anyone reading this today, I wish you a very happy holiday. After all, you came here!

Miami
It has been a minute since I have checked in. Primarily because there really isn't much going on. I'm getting ready to fly to Miami tonight as I have a Skribble gig tomorrow and then I am turning around and coming straight home for the holidays. Incidentally, here is a really nice article by Liz Kelly that ran in the Washington Post. Thank you Liz, for actually printing what I said. Not a lot of journalists do that anymore. They look to squeeze out the sensationalism. It's a straight up interview and I appreciate Liz's approach.
The Gina Gershon/Ben Lee show is now up on ManiaTV and the Hal Sparks/Verena Mei episode is soon to be up in a couple days. Next week we have Mellowdrone and a fashion show from Frederick's of Hollywood. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. xoxoxo

Monday Morning
Lots of rumblings here about music and future possibilities and so forth. The conversation I had with Billy on Camp Freddy Radio was merely that. A conversation. There are no plans for a reunion or anything like that. I was just thinking about how so many bands have managed to put their differences aside and get to playing. I know I am probably on my own with this one but with things the way they are in the industry, it's hard to ignore the fact that certain combinations and chemistries work musically. At the same time, they may not work so well personally. Sometimes I wonder if they really have to. So, I guess I was just thinking out loud on the phone with Billy. As for future musical projects, I am currently waiting for the new year to start putting together some new music. Do I miss it? Of course I do. What I don't miss is the industry. The good news is that there is no label in place and a new year approaches. As for all the other stuff I do such as the radio show once a week and the internet show once a week, I truly enjoy those things. After all, they only take two days out of each week to do. Not into it? That's totally cool. I'm sure everyone has plenty to do during the three hours I spend on outside interests. Sure, I do a lot of writing about where I am going and what I have been up to. If I didn't, I wouldn't have been able to meet so many of the amazing people here and have faces and personalities to go with the screen names.
Speaking of Spread, this week we have Hal Sparks in the studio.

At Last
Good morning... It's good to be home. I went to Vegas last weekend for the Spike Video Game Awards. The awards were a lot of fun as I got to give an award to Matt Groening and the team from The Simpsons. I only stayed a little while cause I was needed over at The Palms for a private bachelor party. I have been to a few of these things, in fact, I have even had my own... But I have never seen one this over the top in my life. It was honestly like out of a movie. The groom spared no expense and I wish him the best of luck in his new life.
Then I was in North Carolina for a party at Cans nightclub. When I got home yesterday, I fell asleep for something like 16 hours. God I love that! I needed it because tonight I am doing another party at Area, here in LA. Lots of travel and celebrations this time of year. I have been away so much that I even forgot to promote this week's Spread featuring Ben Lee and Gina Gershon. It was one of my favorite shows so far and it will be up in a day or two on demand style. It was pre-taped so if you tried to IM us, we weren't able to answer. Sometimes our guests can't get there on Thursdays or I am not in town. When this happens, we tape ahead of time.

Debbie Harry To Reschedule :(
Sad news. Debbie Harry is down with a cold and is unable to come in to the studio tomorrow. She has promised to reschedule. I always thought that a reschedule was really a pass but Elvira actually rescheduled and made up her appearance. So, it looks good... I'll keep you informed.
1) Did you find that making / being involved in an adult ent flick altered how you saw or felt about sex itself?
Well, before I made the film, I really enjoyed sex. Now that it's behind me, I still enjoy sex.
2) What do you think about Dr. Drew's new reality show CELEBRITY REHAB that's set to air on VH1 this January? Dr. D says he's trying to show people that the disease of addiction is serious and ugly, etc. Your thoughts?
Well, I don't think that there is anyone who isn't aware that the disease of addiction is serious and ugly. I was asked to participate in the show but I passed because I believe that people may tend to agree to be on TV while under the influence. After they clean up... They could be like, "I agreed to do what?" It's a double edged sword because as much as I find the whole concept in bad taste, I can't wait to watch every one! I guess I don't mind watching the poor decisions of others, provided I didn't help them make those poor decisions.
3) Just saw Broken. Any chance you might reprise your directorial role?
Absolutely. At first, I thought this would be a one time thing, but the truth is that it was a fun experience and I had nothing but support from TeraVison and their entire team. Kind of like the opposite of what the music industry is today!

Shop 13/Spread
We are currently cleaning house over at Shop 13 and getting ready for the new line of Spread Merch. Everything must go! HAHA... We have dropped the prices for the holidays.
Next Thursday on Spread we have the amazing Debbie Harry in the studio. You won't want to miss this as not only is she a living legend, but you will also get to watch me squirm uncomfortably. Talk about intimidating! Perhaps I can switch gears and go from intimidating to intimate! Seriously, we couldn't be more excited about having Debbie on as a guest.
What else can I tell you? Nothing much really... Going through the never ending saga of interior design. Today they come to do tile work in the kitchen, electrical upgrades and art hanging. Frankly, it will never end. Once the tile is done, I'll want to change the counter top. Then I'll want to paint... Ad infinitum. Apart from that, I'll probably hit the gym upstairs and lay relatively low. Having said that, now would be a good time for me to get to some questions.
Upcoming Dates:
12/13 Can's bar and Cantina in Charlotte NC - Hosting
NYE- Rain at The Palms - With DJ Skribble
