At Last

Good morning... It's good to be home. I went to Vegas last weekend for the Spike Video Game Awards. The awards were a lot of fun as I got to give an award to Matt Groening and the team from The Simpsons. I only stayed a little while cause I was needed over at The Palms for a private bachelor party. I have been to a few of these things, in fact, I have even had my own... But I have never seen one this over the top in my life. It was honestly like out of a movie. The groom spared no expense and I wish him the best of luck in his new life.

Then I was in North Carolina for a party at Cans nightclub. When I got home yesterday, I fell asleep for something like 16 hours. God I love that! I needed it because tonight I am doing another party at Area, here in LA. Lots of travel and celebrations this time of year. I have been away so much that I even forgot to promote this week's Spread featuring Ben Lee and Gina Gershon. It was one of my favorite shows so far and it will be up in a day or two on demand style. It was pre-taped so if you tried to IM us, we weren't able to answer. Sometimes our guests can't get there on Thursdays or I am not in town. When this happens, we tape ahead of time.

Welcome home baby bro! The show was taped, now I understand why you didn't sign into AIM. I wanted to ask Gina a question, maybe next time. Take care...xoxo

Geeez that must be some serious money spent if a guy hires You and Skribble for a private party!
I'll have to keep this in mind if I ever win the lottery and decide to finally throw myself that long overdue Bat Mitzvah. Though the Rabbi might have issues with all my tattoos.
Well that and the fact I also eat ham.

Enjoy your saturday...CFR tonight?

Good Morning Sunshine! How the hell are you? Busy, busy I read. It so funny how this blog thing is so addicting or should I say you sir, are addicting. You were definitely missed. Glad to see you back on. WOW…16 hrs of sleep, very much needed.

Oh, btw...The show was great! Pre-taped; bummer, but you looked nice, loved the shirt.

Ben Lee was great! I’ve never heard of him before…Your show is so diverse that I learn about someone different almost all the time which is very, very cool. It has broadened my record collection…lol Have a great weekend, Take Care and God Bless!
Lots of Love!

Welcome back DN - ace to hear from you.
Couldn't watch Thursday for some reason it wasn't playing, I waited but nothing happened here, was a lil bit dismayed. Will have to see it on re-run.
(What is the email address from 2 weeks ago to see the pics please??)
The private party sounds nuts lol.
Have a great weekend - enjoy tonight.

Yay...you're back! I've been waiting since Thursday to say how much I really, really enjoyed your conversation with that Ben Lee guy. I think that it was the best I've seen so far. Was completely natural and like 2 new friends just talking and getting to know each other. That is the goal of all talk show hosts, and you have absolutely nailed it DN! :) Not to mention the topic was of particular interest to me, esp the part about how insignificant and minute we are in the grand scope of the universe. Good shit...been learning/thinking about that for a while ever since studing Astronomy.

Glad you had fun in Vegas (like you wouldn't! haha) and have great time at Area tonight. It's not a performance w/ Skribble is it? I'd want to see that...

Dave, don't you ever miss playing guitar and writing music? I mean, no offense, but I could care less about the amount of parties you go to, or your radio and tv show or whatever fuck it is (I have zero interest in them), but I am such a huge fan of your music! And I don't mean the Panic Channel. It was generic and mediocore at best, and I say that because I truly believe that you are capable of writing much more awe-inspring music than that. Maybe I'm missing something and music has become second to all your other ventures (being a celebrity?) but you are still a musician aren't you? I know Jane's will never be again, but we still love you, and don't want to see your unbelievable talent go to waste.

Hey LifeisLoud, if u did listen 2 Dave's radio show he is part of on Indie 103.1, not only would u have heard pure magic yesterday concerning Jane's Addiction, u would realize how foolish your post sounded. -peace

I can sort of get Life is Loud's point. I don't really watch the tv show or listen to the radio show, i am sure they are good, but i don't know sometimes people think too much about things instead of just getting on, going with the flow and doing.

I didn't mean that negatively, who am i to say, I don't know anything about music,I'm not a rock star, all I am saying is that I think DN has a lot of talent. Anyway I always turn up to read this blog so i must secretly like reading about parties. Maybe because I don't go to many!!!

Damn It ! Bird vaczine I missed CFR Saturday. Guess I have to wait for the pod cast! But I read something about this in an article on the web about perhaps maybe getting Jane's back up.

LifeIsLoud have you ever watched SE or listened to SRL cause if not, you don’t know what your missing. I'm talking about pure Entertainment! Dave is more then "just" a musician. He is an artist and excels in all the avenues he has ventured into. OMFG you dont like the Panic Channel? The Panic Channel fucking rocks. Well you’re entitled to your own opinion but most of us support Dave no matter what he does! We love you Dave!

XOXOXO

I miss the Panic Channel.

Wow, really didn't expect so many responses.

As I said, the Panic Channel isn't a horribly bad band, they are average and nothing else. I say this becasue I truly believe Dave is capable of writing a much more beautiful, interesting, and striking album than TPC's album (I can't even remember what it was called). If he just wrote an album from the heart, and ignored his surroundings, I think he could write the most kick ass album ever. And for the record, Dave seems like a great, very likeable and down-to-earth guy, but I still have no interest in listening or watching him talk about nonsense.

You do realize that with one compliment your also handing Dave a few insults.

Dave, where's the CFR podcast?? I missed it Saturday night!

Okay, last comment, i agree with life is loud, i reckon he is capable too, if it was from the heart, and he didn't spoil it by thinking TOO much if you get what i mean, but who am i to comment anyway. I don't even know Jane's Addiction. Are they american?

DAVE....I love the many artistic sides of you and avidly support and anxiously await anything you put out there! I am a humongous JA fan, though. I was lucky enough to see the Strays tour (and it was mind blowing!) and TPC (up close!) Gimme some more of BIG D and his magical music machine!
QUESTION: FAN Etiquette...does it bother you when fans touch you while you play or scream during a song?
Much love from Tejas!
