Monday
Happy Monday everybody! Just got home from Arizona with DJ Skribble and we had an amazing time. The show was awesome, even though we lost power at one point. Oddly, it is the spontaneous moments like that we crave. It gave us an opportunity to just go with the flow and have fun. Today, we are going down to the Spread studio to do some taping. The beautiful thing about the studio is that if we find a guest who can't do the live show, we can always go in and tape that segment another day. Today, we are shooting an upcoming segment with Edward James Olmos. Todd and I are huge EJO fans to begin with... But Battlestar? Come on now! That's amazing! We are also doing a segment with our in house psychic Belinda Bentley. Our plan for now, is to run these on Thanksgiving but you know that they will be up in rotation either way. Next Thursday on the live show we have Don LaFontaine coming in. He is the movie trailer voice over guy: "In a world where Internet TV and voice over meet..." You know who I mean.
A lot of people have been asking if we still plan on having a live audience. The answer is yes, we are just dialing in everything down there before we make a public invitation. We will be open soon enough! Probably in December which is only a few weeks away.
P.S. The online voting for Spread is ending on November 15th, so I'm told, so anything you guys can do to help support us would be greatly appreciated! Once again, here is the link. Thank you in advance!
If you want to throw out some questions I can always get to them this week.

EJO, my favorite movie he did is American Me, pretty powerful storyline.
Do you ever cry in front of others? Do you feel if a man cries it shows his strength or weakness?

I like the new Spread logo! Very nice. And of course I love the fact that I'll be able to come see more tapings come December! YAY! :)
Well, the only questions I can think of are these (which you're probably sick of hearing...sorry in advance!)
~Any word on when/if TPC will be playing on SE anytime soon? (...hopefully after the public can come! haha)
~Can you recommend any movies you've seen either on Netflix or in the theater lately?
Have a great week everyone! Love, Amber

Awhile back, you identified the scent Miss Marisa (and surpised Ms. Jameson & me).
As you're into scents, wondering if you have ever purchased from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab? If yes, which scents do you enjoy? If not... why not? "[They] specialize in formulating body and household blends with a dark, romantic Gothic tone." Sounds right up (y)our alley. Plus their HQ is in LA and open every full moon (11-24 & 11-23 2007). Just wondering. b.

Happy Monday to you too!
Arizona sounds fun. Wish could download you and Skribble.
Glad you're doing S R L - love it!!
Up in arms about DN doing porn? Hey lemme at them! Who's being shitty? So you're gonna do some more porn - wicked, glad. Do what you wanna do! We're behind you!
Q: Any ideas for more ink? :) Do you get urges or is it only when there is something you'd like to commemorate or a design you see - what inspires you to have a new one?
2) Plans for thanksgiving?
3) Spread Ents is amazing, hope it's going as you want it to - is it evolving the way you'd like? Does it surprise you?
HAVE A GREAT WEEK
Much love and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Heyyyy the logo looks nice, the lights on the building look so pretty.
EJO is one amazing actor, Stand and Deliver is one of my favorite movies to date and Mar’s is American Me. We’re totally opposite. I think that’s why we’ve been together for over 23 years and we’re only in our mid 30’s so yah we were young-ins….
Only a few more dates to vote huh…Looks like I’m going to have to create a flyer and pass it around the office one last time and I think I will give one to the Administrators this time…they have time to fuck around... Yah I think I will…I may have to suck up for a few days…but what the fuck…why not…right…right. Okay…
Mar is totally freaking out because she learned this morning that you would be performing with Skribble in Houston. So I’m assuming she is trying to find out what time you will be performing and all the details because Julian starts playoffs this weekend.
I’m also thinking she in the process of making arrangements to drive out there after the games Satuday she wouldn't miss this for the world. We’re totally excited… Julian’s going to be bummed … he totally loves hearing you rip on that guitar…he has an electric guitar and sometimes says…Do I sound like Dave Navarro…and we respond with; “of’ course you do baby …keep rockin”… what are we suppose say…lol (don’t want to discourage him) Guitar lessons are in the works right after baseball…hummm…Any on-line lessons Dave? lol
Looking forward to Thursday’s show...Hope you and Nicole have a great week, take care and God Bless you both!
Love
Yoli
P.S. I promise to stop writing a fuking book…my fingers don’t stop typing…lmao

I was trying to listen real low in my cubical but unfortunately what I LOVE about SRL is what makes in not "office appropriate" ;-)
Q-you and Billy had the whole art convo on CFR last week. Do you pick art to purchase by certain artists you love, a certain art style you like or just because you think it looks fucking cool?

New logo? Spent a couple of minutes looking for it on Mania, wondering why everyone was commenting when it looked the same.......and then discovered it at the top of this post - what a twerp!!!
Battlestar Galactica, yep I have to agree it is essential viewing. It is rare for me to get fanatical over TV, but that is one programme that can lead to divorce if my husband messes with the HDD DVD settings. I don't understand why it is being killed off in the 4th season when it has received such high praise and other mindless sitcom/soap opera crap runs on for decades!? On the other hand, better to end on a high than fizzle out in a non event. The realism of the latest version appeals to me, the 2000s Galactica looks like it smells of BO, cabbage, sweaty socks and machine oil - probably accurate for a machine that's been floating in space for years with no fresh air - the 70's Galactica looked like it smelled of candy floss, cheap perfume and hairspray!
In the UK we have a tonne of celebrity reality shows - as do most countries - just starting is one where they dump a couple of A/B list celebrities along with a load of Z-list celebrities in the Australian jungle and then torture them for 3 weeks feeding them maggots, etc. Previous notable contestants were John Lydon and Jordan's breasts, anyhow Janice Dickinson is in the latest version!! I can't stand these shows, but I'm curious to see how she stands it and how popular she turns out to be.
A couple of slightly silly questions in the theme of above....
Do you have a favourite character/episode of Battlestar and why?
Would a reality game show ever tempt you? I know there was TDDUP, but I mean a contest, UK examples I can think of are circus performing, hairdressing, horse show-jumping, cooking, ballroom dancing, ice skating, Big Brother......a jungle maggot perhaps?!!
Slowly catching up on missed SEs, sometimes they play OK, others not at all. Very curious to see the new shows and I'm glad to hear a live audience will be a feature!
I'm keeping Yoli company in the book writing dept! Take care everyone.........................SB

I'm excited that you and Todd are realizing your dream of mainstreaming off beat artistic endeavors. I love being able to tune in and see people that creep me out, excite me or make me run away from the monitor. I'm sick of the "tra la la let's talk to Disney people". It's much more fun to be totally surprised by what you guys show and I now have something to fill primetime Wednesday (I'm in Michigan so you're 5pm show is my 8pm). Do you ever think that it will work out that Todd sits on the couch interviewing for the majority of the show so that you hang out with the girls? Will his ADORABLE son ever be in the studio?
Also, I'm currently applying for college entrance in the fall. In my journey of wading through the college mail, I came across the University of Arizona. I've always been a good student but I've heard that it's a hard partying school. What are your thoughts about an 18 yr old girl from Michigan relocating to Tuscon, Arizona (and closer to you)?

Hey Dave;
In the book "Whores" you cousin is quoted as saying you used anti-depression drugs to help quit hard drugs. Is that true? Also, my wife picked up a hag-mag that reports that you were drinking some kind of gin at a party. I thought you'd given up all drugs except nicotine? What is the dileo?

Hey Dave and family.
Dave, a quick music question...
I've been listening to a lot of the albums you've played on lately, and I'm listening to how your soloing has evolved from early days till now. How would you describe how your guitar playing style has changed over the years?

Mmmmmmm...interesting range of questions.............I wanted to mention something..... with the EJO interview, I would have been interested in sending a couple of questions via IM if the interview had been live on SE. If you are doing any other pre-tapes in the future, would you consider asking for potential questions for your guests from your viewers in advance?
I got Friday off, getting the eyelid props ready for a live SE!!! Happy Tuesday all....................SB

HEY…Mr. Man,
I thought I would keep you updated with the flyer I sent out to the office and administrator’s yesterday… okay picture this…CEO is about 78 years old and the CFO, which is his son, is probably in late fifties.
This morning when they arrived Sr. had the flyer in his hand walked by my office and asked in his usual mean deep voice “Who is this Dave Navarro you want us to vote for on our spare time”? Jr. comes in right after him and tells him as he rolling his eyes at me as if not to pay papa no mind… and I quote…”Dad, I already told you who he was yesterday remember… Linda (Jr’s wife and a nurse) votes every chance she gets at home. She even kicks the boys off the computer on the weekend and salivates at the computer on how handsome this guy is, THANKS YOLI…Laughter set in the office…. When the administrators were leaving for the day, Sr. came and sat in my office for a while telling me when he was a youngster he always had dreamed of being a guitar player a ROCKSTAR just like Elvis……AWWWW it was so cute!!
And I don’t have to kiss ass!! YAY!!1
GOOD LUCK to SE!!…NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS…. You’re still NUMERO UNO IN OUR EYES…FUCK EM & FUCK EM ALL DAVE! …………….lol
God Bless
Yoli
