SE Best Of/New Home!!!
Spread Entertainment is finally moving studios! We are currently in the process of getting into our permanent home here in LA. We are upgrading the set, the vibe and the look of the show... While keeping the same old "whatever" attitude. Since we will be set up for good, we won't have to break down the gear after every show which will mean less audio and video glitches on our end. That combined with the new ManiaTV site, everything will be running smooth and clear for all platforms. This week we are doing our first ever "Best Of" show. It's hard to believe that we have done over 25 shows so far. We will be running our favorite clips of past guests, performances and street pieces. Next Thursday we should be up and ready to go at the new venue! I am trying to figure out how to do the new program. Should it still be live? Should we have an audience? Since we have the new place, we may be able to do some live, some recorded and some with a live audience. This may offer a more flexible environment and allow us to book guests and have audiences at different times so we can work around schedules. 5:00pm makes it hard to book people sometimes as it is in the middle of LA rush hour.
I know I keep hassling you guys to vote for us with the TV Guide Online Awards, but the truth is that if we win this thing, we will gain more visibility which will allow us to book a wider range of guests... Both mainstream and avant garde. Thank you so much for your support!!!!

Hey! You sound bubbly and excited wicked to hear! Congrats on SE's move - do a mix of all, live, recorded and studio audience!! Flexible is where it's at - as for the voting, aw come on - you know we don't mind! We are 100% behind you, got your back. Have a great pumpkin night, or is that a great night, pumpkin? Oh the difference a comma and a word can make!
Much love,

Dave:
What is your experience with Miles Mangino from Planet of the Sound. The band (GBNE) I mentioned yesterday that plays The Whisky A Go Go on Nov 1st recorded with them and I saw you were on Planet of Sound Live. Do you consider going to see other up and coming acts? Is there time even for that? Live shows seem to build creativity in songwriters, if ya ask me.

I'm not as dedicated a voter as most on this site appear to be but I did just vote a few more times on your prompt...
Personally I like the live vibe to the shows, if I wasn't bothered I would be content with the re-runs. Watching SEs live is attractive enough for me to make the effort to stay up late when I can. I like the guarantee that what you are watching is really happening - warts and all - and is not a sanitised version put out for the masses ( I know SE is vetted very little, but you would have to if something truly bizarre happened!). I think it would depend on how much was pre-recorded and what it was. The live audience also adds to the experience for me, not sure how to explain it - perhaps just more of the 'live vibe'. (There is one thing that I must BEG you NOT to do, please, please, please NEVER put canned laughter over anything you do - that is just about the worst and most offensive invention on this planet.) On the other side of the argument, I can see why you may want to alter things to get other guests, ease of travel, etc. Basically, I guess my vote is for keeping the show mainly live with an audience....come to think of it, if I remember correctly Jay Leno's show is taped at 6pm (went to one 10 years ago!) and I doubt many guests refuse him - if SE becomes more visible perhaps the 5pm timing will become less of a hurdle?! With any format, you could "suck it and see" and ditch what doesn't work.
I've blabbed on long enough so I'll shut the f*** up. I assume the new venue location will be announced sometime in the future?
Oh yeah....(apparently NOT shutting the f up)....I read the Broken review you 'linked' ... it was very positive, but I'm still not drawn to that "order now" link. The description of the sex scenes was too hard core for my taste, probably the result of years of Catholic guilt imposed on me by nuns during my childhood - there are obviously two outcomes - old fart (me) or Marilyn Manson from over enthusiastic religious education...anyhow I digress....what impressed me was the detailed marking scheme the film reviewer had for his ratings!! The criteria were reasonable and fair for the most part - rare amongst reviewers I think.
Shutting the f up now....Happy Halloween everyone.......SB

Okay, Dave,
I voted several times for your TV show - so you better win it!
Now, I would like to ask, did you do anything special with you dad on his birthday?
Always,

Awww Dave…your not hassling us, sometimes we need a great kick in the ass. Remember “Out of Site Out of Mind”…Keep it out there; some of us like me for instance do most of the voting from work. You will find me voting in between paper work. and nagging the nurses to turn in their paper work and reminding them to vote. I wonder now if the nurses think I’m hassling them…Today we were going over patient care which we call “case conference” after case conference I was going to remind them not to forget to vote and one of the nurses stated…” Yeees, Miss Yoli we all know not to forget to vote for Daaave Navarroooo”. We all laughed and I responded with “Smart asses”...it was too funny.
Anyway enough of that…Good Luck in your new location and wow…over 25 shows already. Time flies when you enjoy what you’re watching. Stay with the live vibe Dave…So much more exciting and interesting, never know what your going to get, almost like a box of chocolates…lol Good Luck with what ever you decide to do, we support you know matter what. Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Be safe and God Bless.

Yay for a new venue! (Although I have totally enjoyed going to the Dragonfly on as many Thurs as I could. That's a cool place!)
I really hope the new venue will allow for a live audience...so to answer that question, HELL YES there should still be the live audience!! haha That would be a bummer if it didn't, no more fun "Dave days" for me...
Hope everyone enjoyed the premiere of N/T last night...this season should be interesting!
Love, Amber :)

Ummmm isn't hard to thrust your crotch in Nicole's face when your crotch is covered by a guitar? The Daily News are bunch of douchebags.
ANYWAY...
Good luck on the new digs however I like the "live" element of the show. If guest were "taped" that just leaves room for that dreaded word...."editing" (thought I know this isn't something you would do) The live spontaneity is what makes it fun!

would you ever consider having it broadcast over the radio waves for those who aren't behind the computer between 5 and 6pm? Then they can maybe call in like CFR :)
I just think it's cool when you get to hear the voices and get some of the personality behind the people asking questions instead having the questions/comments read off of IMs on the screen.

Why were the curse words bleeped out during the "best of"?
See, right there is an issue with taped vs live.
