THINGS
Thanx for all the support and well wishes from all of you about the closing of Spread Radio... Well, from most of you! Wow! How quickly some people turn on you! Oh well, for the time being I need to get into the mindset of working on my own music. With CFR and SE, my hands are pretty full with extra curricular stuff. By the way, Todd Newman and I will be in this Saturday taking over the Camp Freddy Radio airwaves as Billy will be out of town. I have been rehearsing with DJ Skribble for some upcoming live mashup/remix shows. We have been taking elements of rock classics and hip hop jams and fusing them together. It's definitely fun and is gonna be great for clubs and parties, but I am also looking forward to getting super creative in this new space I have recently moved into. Winter is right around the corner and is always good for writing... Cold, overcast skies, rain, clouds... Sometimes it makes me look deeper inside... Even though I adore LA when it finally gets a hint of weather. There is something hypnotic about the rain for me. It's almost as if it quiets the mind a little bit.

you're got my full support dave and i appreciate all the inspiration and fun you provide. streamlining and focusing on spread ent on the internet and cf on the radio and music from itunes or whatever download it will come from, plus videos from special events: all good.
love you! looking forward to your future projects. my life has changed dramatically for the better in the past year and just feel that its because i have been exposed to so many new things as the result of all the stuff you and others bring up here and on myspace and on your links. so thank you. onward and upward.

Is Nicole considered an extra curricular activity? J/K
I am really sad that SRL is over, but I'm looking forward to hearing your new music. I'm not sure if this is for TPC, or your own album. I'm interested in seeing how your lyrics will differ from your mindset when you recorded "Trust No One".

oh and i agree on the weather: cloudy skys and the wind make me feel creative and productive indoors or taking a walk in the light rain and thinking about things. its like staying home from school when you're not sick! yeah: you and todd this weekend!

no one should give you a hard time for changing. you Todd do enough as 2 humans. i think the nay sayers just care in their own way. thank you for giving us such talent and fun.
one day can you get perez hilton back?
i love linda in san diego! us linda's are thebest. in nc when weather goes weird, snakes, turtles, lizards, frogs all kinds of stuff comes to greet me in my back yard. it makes for a new painting or picture to snap.
one time on my walk to a cemetaryin ohio. this storm came up and rained me out. ohio is not NC, NC is just dry and hot, lol. the ohio valley will rain for days.
this group of fawns were resting under a tree at this grave stone in total peace in all rain. could you imagine in the midst of life's storms total peace? very cool. ohio is family-land and there is not many gyms or tracks to work out in peace.
anyways, everyone stay well.

That sounds like good stuff, lots of fun. I dig how the music shit is taking the fore front, that's what I'm talking about! SRL was cool, SE is rad, ya yaa yet the tunes are why I stop by. Hopefully hard copies will be available somehow, I dig them over files.

Well, you are the artist, it's your thing, you've got to do what your gut instinct tells you is right no matter what others say. Enjoy!

i love Adam Goldberg, this will be fun! i am so loking forward, thank you for all you do. i love Kelly, there is sometihng satisfying about seeing a guy be a woman in that over reacted female voice
this 'my space page' stuff, all those requests, add ons its really too much work. the staff and Dave, dont wear yourself out.
as for business people, we are not that bad, i know corporate america can get bad rap, but we are all "just" people in every and any industry.

The rain does quiet the mind for me. The one thing i love about living in Kansas is thunderstorms. i love to watch them from my porch and i always feel so peaceful when they are over.
Lots of Love...

Enjoying the DN attention here, it's great to have regular postings to read, I get all happy when I see my homepage glistening with news.
Ignore anyone who turned on you re SRL. It was awesome and we loved it, you know it.
DN and Skribble sounds kickass. Can't wait. Will you release some as downloads? Or are you recording any of it at the liveshows? Go on go on you know you want to! :) PLEASE? Desperate to hear it!
The rain is hypnotic. Takes you somewhere inside yourself. You poet.
Lookin forwards to the creative energy...

I only caught about 2 hours of SRL in total, so I'm not as addicted as others. Every time I listened you seemed to be talking about women's bits and grumping because a fan had upset you - obviously a bad day! You did play Yello and The Damned together on the same show, so I don't care what mood you were in, you are pretty much reaching sainthood for that combination alone in my eyes. It was never on at a good time for me, so if there are any downloads or whatever, I'd be very interested!
There is so much Navarro stuff going on I'm having difficulty keeping up......the only really annoying/depressing thing about it is I have serious doubts that I will ever see Dave perform live/in the flesh. Dave can you clone yourself and send the clones off on tours? - nah too watered down. The live shows look great, it's just frustrating for us oceans away.
Scotland - rain - goes together most of the time, keeps things green which I have no complaint about. Not so keen when it drenches me through my clothes and underwear whilst cycling into work! Learnt to bring in spare clothes, my work colleague.....not so quick...I came into the office one morning to be greeted by his boxer shorts hanging in front of the fan heater. We worked closely together, but that was more than I really needed to know about him. He was wearing jeans, etc. but it was disturbing to know he was boxer-shortless all morning...not sure either of us recovered.
Got the props ready for my eyelids, so may make it to 1am for a live SE!!
Nicole, thanks for the comment, not heard that phrase before, almost worth seeing Dave be a judgemental ass-hat just to see what that looks like - thanks for making me laugh!
Be well everyone.............................SB

mmmm, the rain, I agree, I love the occasional cold and rainy day with a fire going, watching the rain on the skylights and windows.
Please D, come to NYC w/DJ Skribble, if you do, pls do a NIN mashup, that would be kickass.
Have a good day, all
Love,
Sue

(shaking head) dude nobody's turning on you....i was simply expressing my disappointment whilst speaking my mind....u oughtta kno by now....that if i don't agree with a certain course of action....i'm gonna let you know about it!....i luv ya big guy....but i won't kiss your ass about everything like most people will....when u do good....i'll give you praise....when u make a bad call....well lets just chalk up what i said to constructive critisism....the latter part of what i previously said was tongue-in-cheek or did you miss the =P at the end? i simply think it's unwise to say that SRL is forever gone....put it on hiatus....put it on the backburner whilst you dive into your new projects.....it just seems such a shame and a huge waste to say goodbye forever to what IMO was the best thing you've done since you were in janes. i'm not saying you shouldn't branch out and try new things....but when the dust settles....come back to SRL....that was real....that was down to earth....that was truely letting the fans connect with you....watching SE is entertaining....but it's cold & distant.....with SRL it felt like we could really connect....get inside your head.....your moods....your home....that was our "hang out with navarro time" ....just please don't say it's over forever.....that's all i was trying to get at....
you're still my hero big guy

UC13, I so admire what you just said. I would rather have someone tell me what they really think, than tell me what they think I want to hear. I felt more connected to Dave on SRL too. While I do really enjoy SE, for me, it doesn't seem as unique, personal, and uncensored as SRL was.

though i will miss srl i am all for progress. i certainly hope that you will continue promoting new bands and increase the frequency with which you do so. if it weren't for the "artist of the month" contests i would have never been exposed to the music of killola, kHz, the unknownn, etc. please keep that format in tact.
thx and good luck,

Wait, Dude, What? Sir DN...we love ya bro and I will just "INSERT QUOTE" on what UC said above. My addition...Just a knee jerk reaction because that's what, shall I say "popped the cherry" on your true personality. It is additive and just enjoy the gab of SRL and the music you brought upon us and what was collecting dust as well.
RIP SRL 09/05/2007 an end of an ERA!
Much respect and appreciation.

rock and hip hop sounds good allows for a lot of different interpretations and innovations i think those two genres mix up really well together...beats beats beats with a lil riff here and a lil riff there especially if it's you on the guitar... rainy days can be a very calming creative space it rained today and was so calm i fell asleep;)ha a lot of nashville songs have been written about the rain on the tin roof...keith urban wrote one and elvis kentucky rain just put that in the mix somewhere...didn't prince sing one about the clouds and her mixing all together yep raspberry beret well stormy weather makes me think about dave navarro under a doona looking deeper inside...you paint such eloquent pictures in my mind...ha xo

Is it Tracy from Alabama?? I caught up on 2 months of CFR recently and you were on almost as much as Dave and Billy!!
Just got back from the hairdressers and I'm gonna rant.......why is it that they do the exact ffing opposite of the 5 minute conversation you just had and agreed on?????? I don't want colour here because, blah, blah. Then I sit in the chair watching her put it everywhere we've agreed on not putting it going WTF, WTF, WTF, WTF??? to myself. Thinking, no we've talked about this, she's not doing the exact opposite, it must be my imagination and also being British, being too polite to challenge her. I pay an ffing fortune, come home, check it out and, yes, every ffing streak is exactly where I asked her not to put it!! (I've got long hair and can't be bothered doing the root retouch thing) Next time I'm going to section the hair off myself........end of rant.
I'm off to get the next installment of my tattoo, hopefully the last, this better go as discussed otherwise I will be seriously pissed off.
Not a chilled out, happy SB, hope everyone else is.....................SB

HAHA. Winter...in LA. What?!
the key word here is "HINT" (of weather)
for me, looking inward on the east coast can be a dangerous spiral into full blown S.A.D. disorder. by thanksgiving i begin to dream of a better life somewhere warm. i'll take the cold overcast LA sky anyday.
looking forward to the new stuff, and the mash ups! you guys better hit ny!
All the best...Slice x
