I watched clip 2 then clip 1, clearly a stupid day. You're gonna end up funding a soup kitchen and feeding all the kids by Xmas. One of the things that gets to me the most is it's so fucked up that the chase and need for "freedom" or escape comes down to living on the streets, world over.
We don't have 'hooters' here - LOL - um well actually I do since I'm a chick :)) but it means something different!
Had to go to bed last night and missed Spread Ents, gotta wait for the catch up now.
Have a great weekend DN.

lindapolver checkin in. rockin NC every day.
i saw the new vids, man on the street piece; Dave you have a heart of gold. those kids would not ask you for anything but you offered to help them? awesome Dave.
business/our industry Dave is so cold and ruthless. we are just souls in bodies getting thru life for good or badtimes. either way we will be fine. we dont need gov-co, we dont need a "leader", we dont need regulation. freedom and happiness is all in our heads/mindset. we'll make it. the human condition has complexities, duh.
anyways, there was a post about Ruppie Murdoch. dont worry fans; i know what he owns and how he operates media. have a great weekend ya all.

Oh my God, those homeless kids just broke my heart! They were so sweet. Don't imagine you got much sleep that night - such is the reality of Hollywood. Good piece.

Dave,
You sir, … are such an inspiration to humanity. When you provided those kids with some money to buy food totally brought tears to my eyes. You are such a sincere and caring guy. The whole street vibe thing totally rocks. Margaret and I have never been to LA but seems to be the place to be..uhu? The nightlife seems to be crazy (fun) there.
Here in Corpus Christi, TX, were the slowest of the slows, nothing really happens here except hurricane scares, feces in our water scares (ya, gross I know) and maybe… maybe a few great concerts here and there. Margaret and I always have to travel to San Antonio or Dallas to see to a decent concert. Let’s see what am I getting at…Shit…I don’t know. I totally lost my train of thought. LMAO!
I just wanted to comment on how nice it was to see you interviewing in your neighborhood…you are an awesome guy. Great Show! Bummbed to hear about the YOUTUBE thing was loving the "G-thang video"
Caught the SRL show yesterday… Sanaz Rocks!
Peace & Love

Dave. You need to be doing more of these. I'm sure you're busy. The man on the street thing is all you. Head over to Boys Town. I would love to see that one. Those guys would eat you alive.

Well you won't be lacking entertainment in that neighbourhood! Another good film piece, thankfully it's only visual and doesn't include smell. Hopefully those kids did use that money for food. A couple of weeks ago I had to go photograph an alleyway down the side of a disused building for my work - don't ask why, but it was a silly reason. I stumbled upon 5 junkies shooting up.....thankfully everybody was friendly and laid back and I gave them a couple of minutes to clear up and clear out.....and man, they looked ROUGH. Got back home that evening and told my husband - he went ape-shit and proceeded to tell me all the possible scenarios of me being murdered in an alleyway by 5 junkies - just never crossed my mind at the time. Street culture has a very dark side to it, some kids are sweet but some are downright evil. You hope you don't meet the evil ones.
What's this about Youtube?? Once again my crap Internet provider is preventing me from keeping up, damn, damn, damn, damn. I'm hoping that the situation will be resolved in the next 2 weeks.... Dave, the Internet is obviously not the place of free speech/programme content that you hoped it would be! What video clip got booted?
Happy weekend everyone........................SB

Dave,
It is so sexy how u own your own issues and choices in life! Sometimes, I am weak and I want to blame others, but u are so inspirational 2 me cuz u own 100% of your mistakes..I have to keep reminding myself, it's my brain, my choice, my life. Cheers sexy.

wow. though i missed lastnight's spread i'm glad i caught this. i can't tell you how many times i've caught the very same vibe when i've found myself in the very same place, at the very same time on hollywood blvd. around the kodak.
and if i were single, and if i were still in music...i would have a loft there too.
good for you. have fun...oh, and watch where you step.

Hollywood Blvd...gotta love it. Have spend a couple nights trolling the streets there (not alone...it can get pretty dicey)
Really funny stuff, Dave. You always make me laugh out loud when I watch those 'man on the street' vids. Looking forward to coming down for next weeks SE show. Had to miss tonights to train for my new job. Booo!
Hope everyone is well...Im finally starting to feel settled here in LA. It rained today so that made it feel a little more like home. :)
Love, Amber

Hey Amber, glad you're doing well up in LA. I don't know how you can stand the traffic! That's why I rarely go up there. Hope to meet you soon. I know Dave has missed me since Rock Star wasn't renewed! HaHa

benji and joel madden often used to wear misfits tshirts supporting their fave band y'know early on in the gc saga long after the jane's addiction saga...it's not really a reference to not fitting into a constitution directly but yeah hooters we don't have them either but we have bars all across australia with topless girls working in lingerie and topless in most country towns and cities actually more popular in the country areas...kenneth cole does an advert for menswear stating the homeless of america could have been all housed instead of evicting saddam such is the cost of the iraq war...do you wear kenneth cole menswear?and i just raed an article about this Petit family that were murdered and raped in a home invasion in connecticut on july 22nd so i guess crime has no geographical boundaries just like hooters has no geographical boundaries just like freedom should have no geographical boundaries...the hollywood boulevarde looks identical to kings cross i played in the park as a child in the middle of kings cross and was completely safe it's known as the sinbed of sydney for prostitution and heroin and stripclubs...homeless kids pimpin themselves...i think australia has 105000 every night out homeless that's our stat what's america's...and i was highly amused at dave scared of AIDS honey if you ain't got it yet you 're immune...xx

Those videos are great, you are good at interviewing, particularly random people. But I can't really get the sound properly...thats your neighbourhood? I thought celebrities lived in big houses with swimming pools with a massive garden and a big wall...Hollywood Boulevard brought back some great memories of our first big trip abroad....we were SOOO excited when we saw those stars in the ground...and then we saw MICHAEL J FOX in a cafe with big high chairs...thats youth for you...an impressionable vulnerable time...so its sad to see kids on the street being exposed to so much so young...
so, when are you going to get YOUR star in the ground? If I was you I'd put one in the ground myself outside your loft and make it bigger and a better colour than those other run of the mill
manky ones. HA!

throcks? remember those from a few weeks ago? thos thongy sock-y's for men? gotta wear those :)
sunday 10; throcks...and do you tune to key of C or do you ever tune the guitars down?
Dad comes to see me in NC we jam and he tunes us to C for his voice.
man on the street work topic. Dave, its up to us, our people to do what we do; whether its music, art, business, being a mom or dad, taking control of our culture and taking control of our times for the better.
i am looking forward to the years to come. these old farts in media will die off and the new more progressive minds can start and stay in media. i really want to swear and rant but i am behaving today. society just irks me.
now, the noise...I bet $20, Dave has sound proof windows or noise cancelling head phones.
lastly, the "conspiracy" theory i see, or have experienced, is that the jobs are not there for the kids. i know the street kids would be working if the work was there. and if the application process was less regulated and complicated, they'd be working and eating vs homeless. but is the street life what punk music portrayed? so is system been set up against us? i circumvent, work around it. in my work i refuse to do anything illegal or unethical. by the grace of God.
down south its still hot, so hot you dont need hot water or blankets. even with the a/c on its feels warm. i bet the homeless dont have hot water. my water heater gas thing is still unfixed or undone. big deal. i can do with out it in honor of those who dont have their needs met either. b/c i am praying for these kids on the video today. next time i write i'll be more succint, just felt like writing today. thanks for letting me be here.
