Four
1. Whatever happened to using Skype for the SE shows?
Oh yeah! Well, after my appearance on Tom Green's show I decided to scrap the whole Skype thing all together. It was a disaster. Audio and video problems, people trying to fuck with the show... I realized that it would simply be better to stick to IMs for now and even that is hard to get to. We are, trying to incorporate them more these days by having fewer guests and creating a looser environment.
2. I was checking out the SRL page in hopes to find a rebroadcasting of the September show and to my surprise I saw “Dave Navarro Welcomes Metal Sanaz” that is so fucking cool.
Yeah she is pretty amazing. Thanx to the tireless efforts of Loop, Pull, Messy and the whole SRL crew, it looks like SRL will be around for a while.
3. Re censorship, do you edit/censor your sites much or do you tolerate the mudslinging.
Well, I do not edit all that much but every once in a while I will kill a comment or ban someone for just being a complete jackass. The Internet has become so full of hate and judgment and fear and negativity that I do what I can to keep it out of here. Sure, the Internet is a source of free speech and anyone can create a site and say whatever they like. This site (6767), however, is maintained and paid for by yours truly and is subject to weeding out the bullshit.
4. I really miss the old posts where you made fun of the gossip rags, told stories about shit that went down, things like that.
Yeah, I do too. I am sure I will get back into doing that in the future... The problem is that so many other bloggers can't find their own content so they come to other sites, pick up a line or two and reprint it with their own spin. I suppose they have the right to and I have certainly done it myself, but in this day and age, one has to be super specific before spewing out a bunch of random stream of consciousness opinion and ideals. Personal artist communication is just one more thing that the media is starting to destroy. I suppose that the next obvious question is: Then why do you do so much press and media related events if you have such a problem with it? The answer is multi-parted: I love to work and I do think it is necessary to get information out to the people who DO care. I don't think that ALL media is evil but it really is a crap shoot as to how something you say or do is going to come across or be spun. (I kind of enjoy the challenge.) Also, I am not about to live in a box and avoid the things I love to do out of some kind of fear of how an action may or may not be perceived. I guess I do, to a degree, take some consideration before speaking, but even then... I get screwed. So, in conclusion... I guess it is what it is and just about everybody who lives publicly goes through it. There are many outlets that are still around that cover stories in a very professional way... The tabloid stuff is so massive right now that even the most earth shattering stories seem to fade away in about five minutes anyway.

AMEN BRUTHA!
People tend to forget that this is a privately owned wedsite and think they can spew whatever shit they like.
Actually people think the entire internet is a public domain. Sheesh.
But a small comment about the current "media" environment we are subjected to. Just look at the local morning news shows. No longer do we have real "journalists", we have copy readers. Stiff people who look good with perfect hair and teeth that can read copy off the teleprompter.
AND they can't even do that right half the time. So now anyone can call themselves a "journalist" though they either don't check facts or don't even bother. Nothing is original anymore, everything is just "copy/paste"!

DN you are ACE! Sorry in American, you ROCK.
Reading your replies made me laugh and once again slams home that you're such a decent guy.
Also so glad that 6767 this summer wasn't the cess pit of hatred it was last year, thanks for doing all you have towards making the air in here sweet and fresh.
Sorry you still get screwed by the media.
Have a wicked week.
Love,

Very interesting Q/A, esp. #4. I too miss some of the candor & openness of the past. Yet I can totally respect your ambivalence with regards to blogging your heart and soul out. In this (very disposable) day and age and culture, our words (and actions and situations and photographs) could easily vanish into cyberspace forever. Or simply get forgotten. Or they could be archived somewhere forever, misconstrued, and held over our heads (and against us) one day. It's a scary, strange, disconcerting thought. I don't blame you for questioning it.
I guess at the end of the day, none of this should matter as long as you mean and believe in what you say.
And besides, when all of this fades away, all this media/internet/tabloid nonsense - and it probably will... What WILL remain is the works of art you've created, and the many people who have been moved by your words, music, and actions.
All the best,

Thanks Dave for answering my question, though as I said it was partially ripped off from someone else - well they got there first..
I didn't realise you were getting shit for printing your views on subjects - I can see why that would put you off. I learnt long ago, especially at work, not to commit anything to record unless I was prepared to back it up and stand by it. Bitchiness always bites you in the ass eventually. You also have the problem of stuff just being made up......you couldn't pay me enough to be a 'celebrity', I'm just too private.
I also missed out on the hate vibes of last year - must have been just before I discovered 6767. What's the point?? If you have a criticism, fine, but why be nasty? It is just so sapping to be that poisonous all the time. I'm not a karma type of person, but you get more positive feedback in life if you try to help/be positive to others...........that sounds trite, but I can't express what I mean properly. As I've said before, I'm not an instant fan of everything you do Dave - the jury is out with me over the porn film. Porn does nothing for me, what I've seen is sordid, obvious, clinical and lacks imagination (apart from method). I find films that show some sensuality, intensity, etc. far more erotic....perhaps that's just a female thing. Anyhow, I'm not going to bitch or be nasty about it - I probably won't watch it...unless it's good! I'll concentrate on something I do like.
I find this site and the off-shoots massively entertaining/interesting partially because you Dave live a completely different life to my own - so different we might as well live on different planets - and I also find the comments interesting as well. However, I understand that everyone has a life, a career, a right to some privacy and so I don't get pissed off if you don't blog for a while.
I've warbled on for too long so I'll give it a rest. Take care everyone.................SB

plagiarism...the bane of any creative person or artist is rife throughout the internet why i shut my myspace blog down occasionally for only friends viewing... think i was supplying the local radio station and the australian free to air tv stations with ideas for their shows ...fuck them come up with your own fucking ideas...so i totally see where you're coming from it's stealing really...copy/paste...unless you have the author's permission...i wa sreading this article about myspace and how redstone this american billionaire who owns paramount pictures and MTV and CNBC wanted to buy it but rupert murdoch nipped in and got it for $580 million so all the contents of our diaries become their personal possession and you are basically writing the scripts for tv and movies and current affairs programs if you half a brain to bless yourself with and write something intelligible...i have my own creative agendas for the future and i'm not a fishing ground for feeding piranhas and neither are you...ha show me the money as tom cruise would say...anyway have a nice week i love your rose tattoo it's very nicely done...i love communicating with other artists but cannot stand the media sharks...profiteering from gossip and other's misfortunes and meddling not my style...xxo

Hey Dave and all
Hope all's well with you and your's?
Can see why at time's you need to do a bit of "weeding", although...you did "weed" one of my comments once :( (not that I was being nasty...just replying to someone that particularly was!)
But that was nothing on last year....
Anyho, if your still taking questions, mine is,
do you ever wonder what has happened to long term posters that just disapear?
It's not my site and I wonder.
I even wonder what happened to Paul?? hehe
Anyway, looking forward to the show tomorrow,
Take care
Lou xxx
BTW, Bird Vaczine, did you find anyone from here to go with? I would, but with massive amounts of water and dirt between me and LA....
Debating whether to buy a ticket to LA or London to see the Sex Pistol!!

You did used to write a lot more, and even the people who were rude obviously found it quite entertaining because they went to all the effort of writing rude comments and blogging about it...so you got a reaction. Whatever you write someone's going to pick holes.
There are not many other celebrities laying themselves open like you do...hence people projecting their shit at YOU. Unfortunately, acts of giving and generosity, e.g in your case interacting with your readers and opening up your blog, are often received with ingratitude, and slaps back in the face. Sad but true fact of life. But good people (like Jesus) keep giving.
Do you ever want to ask your fans questions? For one Sunday then would you ever consider reversing it and just writing a list of ten random questions and your fans have to answer them?
