CFR

Last night's Camp Freddy Radio with in studio guest, Dita Von Teese, is up.

1. Any chance you will have Dita on your TV show?

Absolutely! She has already been booked for July and will be appearing when she returns from her trips to the UK and Japan.

2. Is today the day of the Glaser kidsfest?

Yeah! I look forward to this event every year. The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation seeks to prevent pediatric HIV infection and to eradicate pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs. Today they are throwing their annual carnival for the kids where I will be manning the bean bag toss booth. Thank God, cause last year I did the dunk tank... Lemme tell you this. I got dunked! Hard! Over and over and over... It was well worth it to see the kids smiling and laughing.

3. Will you be inviting the public to come down when you start broadcasting from the loft or will there be some way to get tickets?

Actually we are looking into finding a full time studio that would be our permanent home. Once we are in somewhere, we will still be open to the public for sure. Having people in the room while we shoot makes for a better and more spontaneous show.

4. Do you think maybe that no matter what you all do, its always gonna be about Jane's?

Ultimately yes, but that is not a bad thing. I will always remain proud of what we did, who we were and will always be. I have the utmost respect for everyone I have had the honor of collaborating with and not only do I wish them all well, but I remain a fan.

DAVE!

Do you have any footage from the Hard Rock event you blogged about? Just curious to hear/see the comments made by you, others at what sounded like a pretty cool milestone in your career.

Thanks!

Hope you had a good show. Came home around 830pm only to find that I was not connected to the internet........cannot connect to the stream now:(

Yet, like you, I MUST figure out the problem.

I was thinking earlier as I searched high and low for the link to CFR's live feed, that you guys should put a permalink up on this page so people can just click to listen in on Saturday nights. You sometimes put the link in your posts, but its a bitch to scroll through all the old blogs to find an active one. Just a suggestion from the peanut gallery! :)~
I caught a bit of CFR tonight...looking forward to the podcast as always.
Have a good night everyone!

Hello Dave!

It was a great show - as much as I could listen too - we had a power outage last night! Any chance you will have Dita on your TV show?

Have a great Sunday!

Always,
me

Great CFR last night!
I wonder if you ever saw the documentary on HBO by Liz Goldwyn called "pretty things". She went back and interviewed the old stars of burlesque. What I found interesting were the elaborate "costumes" they wore and how they were made to peel off, layer by layer. Also they were never naked, the sheer clothes only made it look as they were nude.

It really was an elegant artform and I'm glad Dita is bring it back.

Hi Dave
is today the day of the Glaser kidsfest? well, be sure and give out big bear hugs for all of us. I remember when she was diagnosed with HIV, it was a scary and confusing time for everyone in the world. she fought the brave fight and her legacy lives on. a trailblazer. thank you for giving of your time and i know you have been doing this for many years and for many causes.
have fun, love and kisses for sure!

ok...here is a very tough, emotional, and thought provoking question.

what kind of pizza did you allow yourself to have on your 40th birday?

I asked this in another blog comments:

The UK is making a big to-do about Slash smoking on stage in Wales where smoking in public place recently was outlawed, it's been on every UK news wire. The thing I found funny was the 50 pound fine they keep mentioning, I think he can afford it.

Anyway-since recent bans on smoking have been popping up in almost every city BUT Vegas, have you ever gotten in trouble for smoking on stage while performing?

kids are sooooo cruel sometimes.

That was a BIG sacrifice for you to do the dunk tank because it would have messed up your hair.

V. wise of you to bag the beanbag toss this time.
However.. it is amazing what kids can get up to with a beanbag. One aimed directly at the nose can hurt pretty hard. And then they claim "it was an accident." Yeah right.

But, its all worth it to see the smiles on their little faces!!!!!!! Ha.

Is Geoff Bridges coming on your show?

Spread Entertainment is a WAAY radder show than that one program you did for two seasons.

Hehehe

CFR was NICE.

Speaking from a position of complete ignorance, 3/4 of Jane's Addiction stayed together and went off to do their own thing - and been gracious about it. Perry appears to have been less gracious, who does that reflect well on?

How does anyone look that good on a toilet? It's just not fair! The only way I'd look that good was if I had the toilet over my head and someone else was standing between me and the camera.

Hope you weren't bean-bagged. Those bags may look harmless, but looks are deceiving - one right in the nads would probably hurt.
Hope the carnival raised tonnes of money!

Off to download CFR, have a good rest of weekend....SB

Hi Dave

Do you feel there is some diliberate fanning of the flames to do with the Jane's issue,a kind of call and responce that will most likely make the rift between you guys more permanent and at the same time taking the publics focus away from current music projects that you are all doing?
Do ya think maybe that no matter what you all do,its always gonna be about Jane's.

I've noticed you've been inviting the public to come down to the Dragonfly for Spread Entertainment every thursday. Will you be inviting the public to come down when you start broadcasting from the loft or will there be some way to get tickets?

I really enjoy how you just keep doing what you do and let the gossip flush down the toilet with all of the other crap!!!

dude, you're awesome. props for your work at the Glaser event. It's really admirable.

You got dunked in a dunk tank??? Now that's a clip I'd love to find on youtube! ;)

Seriously, it's got to be a great way to spend the day. I do face painting every year for the school's field day, and there's nothing better than making 700 kids smile for a couple of seconds and watching them have a good time.

Spreading the love,
Deena

Dave,

You always take the high road when it comes to everything! You deserve all the respect that you get from all of your fans. It is always harder to do the right thing. Yeah, I am with the others in hoping your nutz didnt get beaned tonight or that gorgeous face of yours as far as that goes. Anywhere else on your bod, I think you could hold your own!!! Take care as always. Niki

Hi Dave= while up til the wee hrs I seen Perry Farrells Satellite Party new video. It was strange..... Have you seen it yet? Some dogstar title?

Now, listening to the CFR that I missed!

Question, when Jane's did videos were they mainly Perry's idea or did the whole band have a say in it? the dogstar was reminiscent of the just because video? Just curious.... your videos from TPC and your solo seem a little more grounded.

Thanx Dave-KISSES%hearts;Db

Hey Dave,

Just finishing up on assignments for these Diploma papers...aarrrhh...Today is a sad day as it's been 14 years since my Dad died!

I was wondering - Do you actually receive letters (fan mail) directly or do other people read letters that are sent to you?

Well, have a great evening/night!

Love,
Nancy :-)

BTW- I have a club here that you could have the SE show at-it isn't even cold now, 80 degrees.

An addition is, that is great what you are doing for the Elisabeth Glaser foundation:):)those kids are precious!

You're amazing. Getting dunked is awful.
As for Janes and 5) it's your starting point where some people will always tag you back to in some ways - you know in same way perhaps that your / anyone's family sometimes doesn't actually automatically see you / us as an adult? Despite how far you've come and what you've achieved some people's perspectives don't see the person immediately for who they are now. And there's all that gossip addiction too.
You're so classy though DN lol, what a response - love ya! xxxx

"That being said, I have the utmost respect for everyone I have had the honor of collaborating with and not only do I wish them all well, but I remain a fan."

So there! Ha! YOU win!

Conflicts are always interesting and sometimes.. amusing.

I do notice Perry Farrell has only nine friends on his myspace page as opposed to your three million...maybe thats why hes being all bitter and twisted. That being said i have always had a bit of a soft spot for twisted and bitter people...me being one myself (big time)!!!!!!!!!

Well must go, have so enjoyed coming to this blog but really now its high time to dealing with MY addiction.. that being the internet.

Hello, Dave,

I just want to thank you for answering my question. Do you know what kind of lift that gives us fans?

Another question on Mania TV - will you be posting or able to post a schedule of who will be on. Perhaps not just the week before? You know, your own little DavE-Guide.....

Always,
me

I asked this on another blog entry, but since it hasn't been answered and it is rather important to me...I'll ask it once more.

My 13-year-old son is just starting to learn to play guitar. I bought him a cheap acoustic to start with. My only problem with this is the fact that he seems to be trying to learn by playing by ear. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, wouldn't it be better for him to learn to read music also? What other advice can you give a young person just starting to learn?

I want to encourage him as much as I possibly can in this. He just lost his father a few weeks ago and has been having a hard time adjusting. This seems to be the one thing he enjoys lately. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Love ya!

Jane's Addiction was the pinnacle of alternative music during their musical reign in that realm! I was lucky enough to see Jane's Addiction live once the first time around, and remember it fondly as one of my greatest concert experiences of all time. It's up there with a New Years Eve concert of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers all on one stage (in that order)!!!!!!!!

I remember that you did the dunk tank last year, I believe Melissa Rivers did it with you, I commend you for your devotion to such a great cause.

I hate to admit my ignorance, but I was never a Jane's fan. If it weren't for Rock Star, I would never have come to know your amazing talent and awesome personality. Love ya baby bro, for who you are, not for what people expect you to be!!! xoxoxo

Dave,
I think Perry was talking about the show you did on MTV, not Rockstar.
