This is a one camera video of Blue Bruises shot by Todd Newman at The Long Beach Arena, last date of the Supernova tour.
Highlights from yesterday's Spread Entertainment are up on ManiaTV.com. Both Mickey Avalon and Perez Hilton were amazing guests and had so much to say! Sunday 10?

I go on Perez Hiltons's web site for laughs, and yesterday afternoon he still had not mentioned that he would be on your show. I emailed him twice. asking if he didn't want to promote your show or what, and after the second email he posted about the show. Kind of funny...

I read about Dita on Billy's blog (I heart her!! this is going to be a GREAT show!) but he said it was going to be him and Dono. Are you gonna be doing CFR with Billy instead?

If you had to give guitar players one practice advice what would it be?

Hi Dave and happy belated birthday. My 13-year-old son is just starting to learn to play guitar. I bought him a cheap acoustic to start with. My only problem with this is the fact that he seems to be trying to learn by playing by ear. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, wouldn't it be better for him to learn to read music also? What other advice can you give a young person just starting to learn?
I want to encourage him as much as I possibly can in this. He just lost his father a few weeks ago and has been having a hard time adjusting. This seems to be the one thing he enjoys lately. Thanks for any advice you can give.
Love ya!

Happy belated birthday Dave from another 6767 babe! I wanted to post 40th birthday wishes to you on our mutual birthday, but the day escaped me before I had the opportunity to do so. I am glad to know you appreciate the greatness of 6767 as much as I do. It is an honor to share "my" day with you. May our paths cross one day, so we can celebrate our special day together! Cheers!

dave
i've heard you go on about the state of the record business and how tough it is for a rock band to make it these days. your former bandmate's record only sold 7600 the first week with a ton of promotion. without major label support and radio support how can an up and coming rock band make it these days? are we going to see the end of rock music? what's the answer?

To Allan above, sometimes Mania TV gives me real problems. I've watched one show live and it was fine except when Windows IE asked me for a time-out, I told it 'no' and nothing bad happened. I have most trouble watching the archived shows and clips, the sound is fine but the picture freezes. The only time Mania TV has been OK has been 10pm UK time on a Friday - am I the only saddo on a computer at this time? Perhaps why it works! If you are using WMP and IE, try and get the most up-to-date versions you possibly can, viewing may be easier then.
Here's a Sunday ten question:-
In an ideal world where anything is possible, is there anyone in particular you would love to have as a guest/s on SE, either famous/unknown or living/dead, and why?
Another out of date comment of mine on something that was posted days ago, I meant to comment on the Metal Sanaz clip on myspace. I have no idea who she is or what she does, I'd only seen the 'friend' photos on Dave's myspace before that clip, but I was amazed by how beautiful she is! I think she has the classic beauty of someone from a glamorous 40s film. That image is kinda shattered when she says 'motherf**kers', but then it's not the 40s anymore! If it was possible to go and get a completely new face design (and I don't mean plastic surgery), I would chose hers.
Looking forward to CFR and SE4. Have a great weekend everyone.........SB

Awww I miss seeing you guys live. I loved watching the evolution of TPC. I still remember the excitement of the first show and how each and every show got better and better. I remember thinking damn that was a fucken great show, but then the next one would come and would blow out the other one out of the water. Maybe that’s why every time I listen to TPC I get artistically inspired.

Kudos to Todd!! Awesome video!
Q-Seems the Welsh are making a big deal out of Scott and Slash smoking during their recent show in Wales. They apparently have a strict non-smoking policy there but so does 95% of the cities in the US. Have you ever been given a hard time by a venue or threatened with a fine for smoking on stage at any shows?
Shit, I enacted something I call "The Slash rule"-if I'm at a VR show and Slash lights up...I am too. Actually it also applies in any club or bar. I see one person smoke, I yell out "SLASH RULE" and we all light up.

So below is an item about something Perry said about you in an interview. While I'm not asking you to get into any mud-slinging, I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts on this, as one of the Sunday ten.
(Please note, by my memory, as someone who had tickets to the New Year's Eve show you guys did not play, as the band broke apart, some eight months before the tv show ever aired, it seems that there's some timeline problems with the quote, but anyway. Just curious for yr thoughts.)
Launch Radio Networks reports: Former JANE'S ADDICTION frontman Perry Farrell's new project, the SATELLITE PARTY, released its debut disc on Tuesday (May 29), titled "Ultra Payloaded". The CD is a loose concept record about an organization called "the Solutionists" that wants to use music to change the world for the better. Farrell told Launch that the idea came to him after JANE'S ADDICTION began falling apart while guitarist Dave Navarro started hosting the "Rock Star" reality series. "My band broke up basically over reality TV, and I just couldn't believe it," he said. "So I thought, like, rock and roll has never been about kissing ass and a contest. You know, rock and roll is self-expression. It's defiance. It's freedom. So I started to write about a group of people, they call themselves the Solutionists, that take matters into their own hands in this do-it-yourself world where basically the media has given up on the future."

Will you have any professional poker players on your show to share their success stories?

Hi Dave
just wanted to say that you and Todd are doing a fantastic job on SE, i love the shows (have missed every single one live but catch up on mania) and really liked the arrest video, you are so funny and talented. I'm glad Verizon is a sponsor of your show so they can continue to help fund your work, so we can all enjoy it!!
I just listed a house for sale today for $2.1M so i am feeling EXCITED!
look forward to hearing Dita as i read she has been a solid businesswoman since her teens when she started working in retail shops. Does she exercise, maybe ask her (she's beautiful)
hope you had a fab bday, to me it seemed like a national holiday with hundreds of people wishing you love. my favorite comment was when someone on myspace called you their Guitar Hero.

You know Dave, I just had to write you a quick comment to say how much I really, really enjoyed your segment w/ Perez on Thursday. I just got stuck watching the teasers from that interview again, and I had the biggest, stupidest smile on my face the whole time. You guys really flowed, it was funny and interesting and off the wall...he should definitely be on again and again.
Love you and loved the show! ~Amber

Great vid, don't suppose Todd is available for lessons? (I just got started and boy the results so far are hilariously bad.)
Spread Ents TV on the otherhand is completely awesome, loving it.
Looking forwards to CFR and grumpy since I missed SRL!
Also wanted to say about your birthday, so ace of you to include us all and the whole laid back come on down to Vegas if you're around vibe - you're just so lovely! (And I am so stuck in the UK.)
Sunday top 3:
1) Birthday pressies - Sweetest / best / most appreciated or unexpected - the top ones which put the icing sugar in your dimples?!
2)What's your most recently acquired slice of rock memorabilia?
3)Behind the scenes at Spread Ents! Is it all going as beautifully behind the cams as it is upfront!
Have a great week.
Love ya. xxxxxxxxx

Great Allan, glad to hear you're up and running!
Looking forward to the rest of SE4, though I'd have to disagree with Perez about everyone wanting to see vagina - it's not in my top ten of things I really want to see, ESPECIALLY NOT Joan Rivers'!!!
There's an arrest video? I thought the interrogation video was funny, an arrest one should be funnier!
I don't think I have ever managed to catch a whole SRL, I just don't have time to sit at the computer and listen. I know it's been mentioned before, but a podcast would be extremely welcome - but I don't know how easy those are to do, etc. etc, maybe that's why there aren't any!
Smoking - the authorities would have to do something otherwise it'd look like it's OK for bands, etc. but not OK for the rest of us. Not aware of the story, so don't know how big a fuss it was. A smoking ban ain't such a bad thing, when the Scottish one came into effect a lot of heavy smokers I knew quit.
Take care all.........SB

Dude! You should have Jeff Bridges on CFR or SRL. He has his own record label, RAMP. He's got a blog too. Oh yeah, he's an actor, anti-hunger activist, and photographer too. But y'all already knew that. That man kicks ass!
