Sunday 10
1. Lukas Rossi has married Kendra Jade, and I hear you introduced the couple. Any truth to the rumor?
I would say, yes. Kendra is a dear friend of mine and Tommy's and I believe it was both of us who made that connection possible. Couldn't be happier for them! Congratulations you two!
2. How do you choose the guests for SE? Are there set criteria or do you go with what 'feels right'?
It really is a matter of what feels right. For the most part we want to have a well rounded show of human interest, humor and artistry. Even with the guests who are more main stream, we are more interested in talking to THEM as people and not focus on "what they have coming out". We look for duality and versatility. For instance, we had Tom Green, then a look into the minds of serial killers. Next week we have Janice, then a package about the Dimebag Tribute and Little Kids Rock charity. So far we have really appreciated all the time people have been giving us. Especially our friends outside of the show such as KHZ, Tom and Janice. It's a lot more comfortable to talk to someone you already know well.
3. Are you going to put up previous shows like Tom Green does for us foreigners who aren't dedicated enough to get up at 4am?
Yes, for sure. Since we are live, we may run into technical issues such as losing audio or clips or whatever. After the shows, we will correct and edit the tech issues, if or when they occur, then put the show online closer to the following Monday.
4. What was the best unexpected moment for you during the first live show? Worst?
I'd say the best unexpected moment was when we found ourselves short on time and we went to David Faustino who just happened to be in the audience. The worst was when our pre-taped clips went down, but what can you do? It's live! At least we can have the full episode online in a matter of days.
5. How long does it take you and Todd to edit the videos?
Well, it depends on the piece and how much footage there is to capture but for the most part we kick out stuff within a day. The Mams piece was finished the same day I recorded with him... Price is Right was done the following day... Vegas took longer only because there was three days worth of stuff to import. We love having full control of what content we make available. Sure, it takes a little more time, but it's much better that we do it than have someone who doesn't know us do it. Creatively, those days are long over, for the most part, in all areas... Visually and musically. The band always had the final word, but you would be surprised by how much energy and time it takes to even hear the "two cents" from all the outside agencies that have an investment in a particular project. Simply taking a phone conference to ultimately say no, takes the players away from their primary purpose.
6. So how long until the loft is ready?
That is taking a lot longer than anticipated, hence the broadcasting from The Dragonfly. As of now, it's looking like July. Once up and running I intend to have complete and separate stations... One for video editing and one for music recording. Plus, I am looking forward to getting all the booth art stuff finished. A lot to do, but I absolutely love it.
7. I was just wondering if Billy will ever make an appearance on SE?
Circus Diablo is already booked for July.
8. Will Siggy be a permanent replacement for Chris?
Well, you can never replace Chaney... He is the man! Siggy is also the man but his time for touring is a little more flexible. Chris is a family man with two kids and we totally respect that. When he declined to do our last tour, it was completely understood and there were no hard feelings at all. In fact, Perk, Chaney and I played together just the other night and had a killer time. I always jump at the chance to play with him. Plus, I luck out because Chris is a core member of Camp Freddy and I get to rock with him all the time. So Siggy is no replacement, but we will be moving forward with him as TPC, if that makes any sense.

Q-how long does it take you and Todd to edit the videos? And is one of you more of a perfectionist that the other (must make for interesting editing sessions)?

Dave, thanks for answering my question - just caught the answer on myspace. Handy to know the answer to 3 as well though I also caught it on CFR. SE is 1am for me which is kinda possible, but I've got work the next day....
Thanks again - have a good rest of Sunday - SB

Hey Dave! Do you see yourself doing fewer SRL's in the future due to SE taking up more of your time? (I hope not.)

Im confused.
When the loft is done and you are broadcasting from there, does that nix the whole live studio audience thing?
I'm assuming the open bar will be out...hahaha

playboy after dark used to feature a set that looked like someone's living room and the guests and the audience members would just be milling around chatting like a real party when in would walk the host. maybe it'll be sorta like that!
i'm looking forward to it all for sure.

Hey Dave! and 6767ers!!
I was just reading Dave's information in Wikipedia and it says that in 2002, MTV had a show called Carmen and Dave: An MTV Love Story, was there really such a show? Did any of you 6767ers see it?? ...just curious! :)

So what you're saying is ... Siggy isn't Chris' replacement. He's just picking up where he left off. I can dig that.
Would you ever get all of the TPC guys on SE once the four of you are in LA at once? Not so much as a "what we have coming out" segment, but more like an update as to where you stand in the process and what your separate projects are at the time? I miss you guys!

Hi, it's Snoskred here. I'm just dropping by to let you know that I read your blog with google reader whenever you update, and that I enjoy your blog. I'm re-doing my links on my blog, and I have linked to you in the sidebar.
That's great news about Lukas and Kendra, I've been looking around but can't seem to find anything on the wedding. Can you ask Lukas for a wedding pic to share with us by any chance? :)

I just hate it when someone beats me to my own name...lol!
I was unable to see the whole show, due to technical difficulties...can hardly wait for it to rerun.
Congrats again, Dave!

Just wanted to register (it worked!) and say hi.
Thx for everything, including the CFR, which was fun as usual. I really like the idea of a music industry summit/powwow. Hope it works out!
Peace and love to all. Have a good one.

Is Billy padding his resume if he actually only played on tour with the Cult but never really played on an album?

Whatever brand the razor was, it was electric. Do they sell specialised grooming razors for men and women's privates? Must admit it's not something I've ever shopped for - could make the perfect Christmas gift for that special someone...
What happened to the 67TV bit with the music videos, TDDUPs, etc.? Have these gone for good, in the process of being moved to Mania or temporarily suspended during the 67 revamp?
Just encountered a weird 6 degrees of separation type story. A group of us were talking about tattoos at work, who was the best tattooist nearby, who had what tattoos etc., etc. and apparently a local tattooist did all of Pantera's tattoos. This may be a complete bullshit story, but the timing was bizarre considering last Thursday's tribute and this week's SE tattoo guest. Not the most exciting story ever, but I can hear 'Twilight Zone' music in the background and I had to share.
Hi everybody..........SB

you can use any razor you want ..... if your really brave try Nair, just make sure your close to water when you use it .....
waxing is the best, it lasts the longest .... don't wax with out taking a few pain pills first ...

I finally watched the complete Vegas video, and you crack me up. I love your boyish laugh and charm. My favorite part was when you said Lance Henriksen, instead of Lance Armstrong. I loved Henriksen's TV series Millennium.

Hello Dave & 6767 Family!
Dave,
I love how you dressed up the page and am impressed with the new security log in. It's been a couple weeks since I've left a comment. Won't do that again... :p
Wow. Congrats to Lukas and Kendra! I hear they live in Toronto now. Awesome news! They make a great couple.
I've missed the new SE show. Can't wait to watch it.
Everything looks great Dave!
Good luck to you in all your endeavors.

Wow, fusciah you really know your razors, I didn't realise there was that much detail in the video! Perhaps I wasn't watching close enough, I was distracted by amazement that Dave actually committed it to film. However, having read this site for nearly a year now, I shouldn't be surprised by anything Dave does or records for posterity!
Where's Karen? Her type of madness is noticeable by its absence, Karen are you out there?
No stupid stories today.......SB
