Testing Spread Entertainment Embed
So it appears we can embed the streaming show anywhere! Right now we just have a few videos and clips up, but eventually you can view the live show here or at Mania when we start our live broadcast on May 17th at the Dragonfly. Tomorrow, Todd and I are going to Vegas for a quick little road trip to capture some video and compile a little clip for the live show. (We know this doesn't work well in certain browsers. Safari seems to be trouble, but Mac users can launch Fire Fox and it should be fine.) Don't forget you can go to Mania TV and submit your own short films or clips for possible rotation. You can also grab the embed code there to throw around on any site you want.

Just a note...seems to work fine with my Safari, maybe the latest version/update is needed.

Look at that... cool deal. And wow... is it possible for Raiana to look any more perfect?
Have a great time in Vegas.

It works great on my computer. Duh.. I'm not sure what I'm using to pick it up. It starts automatically for me. Nice video, but intellectual?

Fuuuck! Is Internet Explorer one of the browsers that doesn't work well w/ this? I can't get it to video to play...the page just keeps loading and loading. :(
Posted by: Ambersonian at April 24, 2007 11:06 PM
Ambersonian, I have Internet explorer and it seems to be working ok here. Maybe you need to update something?
Hey wait, thats a different clip playing than before, good stuff =)

In Firefox it's playing automatically which is kindof annoying when I'm reading through a long list on my RSS feed. Maybe it should be set to pause by default?

What's the name of the first artist/opening song on this video? I'm interested in getting/listening to more of her stuff.

Hey
Just been on "Mania" site...looks very cool!!
Can't wait to see who you interview!
Just tried to sign up though and it told me to change user name. So I did, then it told me my Email adress was already in use!!
Tried to sign in with normal user name and pass word....still doesn't work!
Grrrrr!!
Anyone else having this problem?
Anyho,best of luck, take care
Lou xx

I concur, it hates Safari (well v 312.6). Maybe Safari RSS works better with Mania TV?? IE for Mac is crashing on me but I never really use it anyway so good riddance. Mozilla drags a bit but it will work.
Can't wait to see the show. Should be fun:)

How would someone go about getting tickets for this, if it is needed? If not, what's it take to get into the Dragonfly?
May 17 just happens to be the day we'll be leaving LV and heading to that area for a few days.
Thanks!

Hi Dave. :-) Cool, cool. :-) Hope you and Todd have an awesome time in Vegas (as if there is any danger of that not happening LOL ^^). :-) I'm looking forward to seeing what peeps send in for clips n' videos, too. :-) Not to mention the show launch on the 17th. :-) It'll have been well worth the wait, I'm sure. :-) Peace to you and all our peeps. :-)

Get my dream-I am at south by southwest in Austin, and I run into Perry F.(one of my friends saw him there for real and told me about it, i guess that's why i had this dream). Anyways, Perry and I hook up (no details or anything). But I was so pissed-of everyone in Jane's-he's in my sex dream. Not fair, you owe me:)

Err......I don't think I will be clicking on the Mania TV link again anytime soon, my computer went into meltdown. Threw up a huge error message, "dumped data to disk" and then was only rescued by the 'cure all' switch off and on again. Then as it rebooted it announced it had recovered from a major system error. Having virtually no knowledge of computers, especially when they go wrong, this reaction is somewhat off-putting. Is this covered under the description of "doesn't work well in certain browsers"? I'm using Microsoft Internet Explorer, I know from above that some people have been OK, but has anyone else experienced this over-dramatic computer hissy-fit?
Can computers sense fear?
Take care to all.......SB

Here's hoping you pick up some cool hitchikers along the way to Vegas. Who hitchikes these days, I wonder? I expect nothing less than a gonzo-style, [you know Hunter S. Thompson?] trip, well I suppose minus the trunk full of enhancers.

Hi Marivic, quit staying away so long!!!!
Hey Dave, hopefully when you're in Vegas, you can get some video of Criss Angel! BTW, what happened to the video that was here?
Posted by: Linda from San Diego at April 25, 2007 04:43 PM
Does anyone know how to rate SE TV? I did the first time I went there, but now I don't see anything to click on to add a rating.
Posted by: Linda from San Diego at April 25, 2007 05:00 PM
HEHE....Know what you mean Linda!! Site keeps changing!!!
SB I'm on MIE too and it seems to take years to even download the page!!! Hopefully might just be teething problems.... Or maybe computers can sense fear??!!

just found this.. very cool that a site that's usually commercialized and is a good example of showing the same pieces of info as everyone else posts a nice article about the new show.

Hey Dave,
Wow, it's been a while since I checked in here, so I've been reading up on your past entries as well.
Just checked out the "Mania tv" site briefly. Looks awesome!
Well, I've got at least 8 weeks left of study then I may consider a Degree paper.
Well, hope alls well :-)
Take care,
Nancy from New Zealand :-)

The embed is wickedly fantastic and I slapped it onto my profile page at myspace instantly. However is there a way to prevent it autostarting? Or if not that can someone please tell me how to stop the other video I have on there autostarting as having RHCP's Snow HEY HO at same time is ... DRIVING ME NUTS.
Thanks all.
Love
V.

It's so quiet here the past few days. What's up with that? Hopefully everyone is busy watching SE TV. I'm glad you put Rexall back up, great video!

It looks like Howard Stern had the same idea only he is going to charge after a "free" preview.Your machine seems much more compelling.
Posted by: saria at April 26, 2007 12:45 AM
the mania tv help section has a comment on how to adjust for ie, firefox to get clips to play
does this help anyone ?

Spread Entertainment TV is going to be soooooooooooo cool .... nice promo on Comcast .....
I'm looking so forward to the first show ..... can hardly wait to see the stream ......
Computers are great ..... Dave is very smart with the way he uses them and the internet to do his thing ....... your making history dude ....
Internet history : )
If Howard Stern can get people to pay for streams Dave could too .. especially since he's way easier on the eyes .....
and those people at MyPorno.com ... I mean
MySpace.com it seems would do just about anything to see, be with or be Dave ..... Oh the craziness !!!!! LOL
Posted by: fusciah at April 26, 2007 07:27 AM
VERY COOL STUFF....you are truly an innovator, Dave! We love all the effort you put into everything! Rumor mill working overtime....you and Kelly....true?
Posted by: babygirl at April 26, 2007 11:44 AM
I blogged on here awhile back that Myspace and Dave have changed the way 'we' listen to music, not H.S., Trump, Rosie or whomever....Dave is the 1.
Posted by: Anny at April 26, 2007 12:24 PM
Err..........version 2, braved Mania TV again and this time the computer did not throw its teddies out of the pram. Now Mania TV keeps telling me my user name or password is wrong. It also claims to have sent me an e-mail in acknowledgement, but it LIES!!....I'll check again tomorrow. I assume you have to sign in to get anything to play?
Perhaps computers don't sense fear, they just sense an idiot.
Hi everyone........SB (definitely an idiot)

Sarah,
I'm not signed up for ManiaTV but I can view the videos.
Posted by: Saria at April 26, 2007 03:12 PM
Sarah you dont need to be a member of ManiaTV to view the videos...trust me, I am one and still can't view them! haha Im hoping the resident computer genious Loop will be able to help us IE people out somehow...
Hope everyone is having a good week! Love, Amber
Posted by: Ambersonian at April 26, 2007 03:46 PM
oops! "genius" hahaha apparently I'm not one ;)

Sarah B,
Check your junk mail.
When I went to sign up it did the same thing. Took ages to load new pages, and I was getting sick of arguing with it!! So gave up and went to bed!
Next day I had a confirmation letter....in the junk mail.
Hope that helps
Lou

Sarah & Amber .... this may be a stupid question but ..... do you have the most recent updates on your computer for IE, WMP and you Version of Windowz ... ???
if not go here and have it scanned to find out what your missing and do all the downloads:
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
sometimes you can have a virus that will also make your computer do things it shouldn't do ....
some viruses aren't detected by virus software (scarry) they live on your HardDrive .... one day you restart after a boat load of stupid error messages and get the black screen of death .....
hopefully you don't have that but Sarah you shouldn't be getting the fatal error message ... that's not good ... it sounds like you have a virus ..... you should update your virus software anyway if you can ....
if all else fails .......
System Mechanic 7 is software that can sometimes fix your computer for you:
http://www.iolo.com/sm/7/std/default.aspx
if that doesn't work than it's up to the resident computer genious Loop : ) LOL
Posted by: fusciah at April 26, 2007 07:21 PM
Fusciah...I fuckin love you....Don't ask me why I never thought to update my Windows Media Player.
Now that I have WMP9 everything works beautifully....Thank you so much for the tip...as you have proven there are no stupid questions...just dumb asses like myself who clearly have no clue about computers. hahahaha :)
Bring on the SpreadTV!!!
xoxo

I've seen ads for the Howard Stern thing, I highly doubt it will be very thought provoking. What Dave has described is in a completely different league...from what I've seen and heard, anyway.
