Dave Navarro's Spread Entertainment
Today Todd, Larissa and I had a meeting with the Mania TV people about our Internet program, Dave Navarro's Spread Entertainment, which launches in May. S.E. is a live weekly online show, shot in front of a studio audience. I have been describing it as an "Internet talk show which focusses on the arts and the human condition." Sure, we will have music, but it is not a music show. We will be featuring artists of all kinds... Actors, musicians, everyday people struggling to overcome personal issues, doctors, comedians... You name it. As long as their story is compelling, we are open to them. The show is going to be an hour long and interspersed with comedy, but for the most part we intend to delve into matters of a more intellectual nature. The original plan was to have the show take place at my new loft but we have decided to change locations and use The Dragonfly here in Hollywood as an initial home. This way, we can invite an audience for participation in a more comfortable nightclub atmosphere. Yes, the bar will be open! Think Donahue combined with the arts and nightlife.
Listen for a chance to win a pair of tickets on SRL or CFR in the next few weeks.

This is gonna be so great. I'm going to plan a trip down to see the show...any bay area family members wanna take a little road trip?!
Are tickets to the show gonna be on sale and open to the public, or do we need to win tix to attend?

Hey Baby,
I got chills when read this: what a fantastic premise for a show.
Paying it forward w/music/art/information/fun.
I can't wait!
Dave, you have SO much to offer from your own life.
I wish you all of life's best to you and yours in this new chapter.
Be well. Be real. Live strong.

Hi Dave!
How exciting! What day of the week do you plan on taping and when will it air - or will this be live? I love the different aspects of what you are bringing into it - not just the music - a different side of Dave!
Will you be taking calls? Or will this be strictly interview/dialect.....
Always,
me

Tom Green's living room set always reminds me of the movie "King of Comedy". Too Rupertish.
So if the loft isn't ready yet I guess the Dragonfly is better than your living room.
Besides, it gives me another excuse to visit LA.

Dave,
Congrats on your new project! Just may have to take a trip to LA to catch a show sometime. Couple of questions though. Will you still be doing SRL as well and in your previous post you said you have done a couple of new ones, will those air on the old SRL link or only on your myspace page? I am hoping it is the old way because myspace is blocked where I work and that is when I listen (makes the day go by a little faster and better!). Enjoy CFR tonight. Take care. Niki

Dave, this is such cool news! So I guess all of us that were hoping you would do another Rock Star aren't so worried anymore! I love it. Congratulations~ ps, tell your buddy Tom he was hilarious on "Thank God You're Here". Happy weekend every1.

Even thought it's not Sunday yet...
Will the material be censored to an extent like CFR, or is your content/language going to be able to be free-flowing like on SRL? I'm guessing the latter, but I'm not sure.
Either way I'm really looking forward to it. It sounds like it's going to be really awesome.
Spreading the love,
Deena

Love your description of the project and approach. Can't wait to see how everything unfolds and evolves.
So much of today's media has taken the sensationalized slant -- finally, something with substance!
