The Day B4 The East Side
What's cooking everyone? Just checking in. It has been a slow period following the tour for the past couple weeks. Nothing much to report. Tomorrow I roll out to AC for a day or so then a stop off in Vegas, both trips are for simple party events and nothing more. It should be a great time because frankly, I miss the traveling and I am not really in the out and about mood in LA right now. Unfortunately, this means I will once again be out of the studio for this week's Camp Freddy Radio. Last night I finally saw Pan's Labyrinth and I must say that it is incredible. Check it out if you haven't already. It is almost two films in one... A perfect cocktail of fantasy and brutality. Lost. What can I say? I am three years invested and almost feel like I have a relationship with the characters, but the story lines are starting to become random and disconnected. I don't know why I can't bring myself to break away from it. I owe you guys 5 more so here they are:
1. Have you ever had any crazy insane fan or fans that you have had to get a restraining order on?
No, thank God... But I have had people get super crazy angry when I don't take a picture with them. Lord, they get nasty. You would be amazed! One day I will list some responses I have gotten including some e-mail that would blow your mind. As I have said before, I do them when it's appropriate and I am not just out there living my life: in an airport or eating or spending time with a friend. EVERYBODY has a digital camera now so it has gotten way worse. Once a flash goes off in a public place it gets out of control so I pretty much avoid pictures all together. Nobody wants to just say hello and shake hands anymore.
2. Do you love us as much as we love you?
Well, I love most of you as much, probably more, but there is always that very special once in a while where somebody shows up and posts that I'm not so sure I love all that much! I mean, I do in that "general love for humanity" kind of way, but unfortunately, humanity has produced some pretty fucked up people!
3. Can you avoid the places where the paparazzi hang? It seems as though they're everywhere these days.
Some cities have a rat or a cockroach problem, LA has it's own.
4. Nice link to Perez site. Notice the antennae he drew on Dave's hat? What's up with that?
Given the options of what he usually draws on people, I'll take the antennae any day!
5. Are you at all involved in the new show Paradise City?
No, not at all. In fact, I have never heard of it.

Pan's Labyrinth was amazing...an amazing look at how a child interprets the violence around her...and the visuals...taking Marilyn Manson videos to a new level. Que viva el cine mexicano!

Lost is starting to drive me crazy as well, but I love the "kinship" that is forming between Hurley and Sawyer.
Have a great time in AC and Vegas and be safe.
Much Love,

Hey Dave,
With the popularity of "Super Groups" in the 2000's...musicians joining forces to create bands like Velvet Revolver, Supernova, and Army of Anybody...I pose to you this question...have you ever thought of developing a Super Group of your own?...With Audioslave breaking up, that leaves Cris Cornell without a band...and one of the 90's most versatile singers!...In my opinion this would be an amazing line up....Cris Cornell:Vocals, Dave Navarro: Guitar, Pat Smear: Guitar, Chris Novoselic: Bass, Stephen Perkins: Drums!...This line up would not only sell records, (Nirvana, Soundgarden,Janes Addiction uniting)!...you would produce some amazing music, while selling out venues!..What do you think Dave?..Of this line up or your opinion on Super Groups?

what was the pictures on your t-shirt on the cover of the strays album?
their are promo pictures of you wearing the shirt with letters above it, im guessing motley crue but the album cover has the letters removed? it looks like an altered version of the Dr. Feelgood album, but whose the repeated picture in the corner?
it also looks as if there is some writing around the shirt...
on my strays cd dvd copy there are photos of chaney wearing the shirt and there looks like there is more to the picture than just the mot sword.
... i just read a book on Zep 4 if that clears up my questions...
thanx

hey dave,
I recently read about a court ruling that will require internet radio streamers to pay the artist for playing each individual song. Have you heard about this and what does this mean for the 'factory', SRL, and internet radio in general?

Hey Dave,
Good to see ya back. Been awhile. Had to numb my brain with hob nob Celebrity gossip over the last while. Thank goodness you are back.
I have two Questions for ya...
1) Are you interested in any sports, extreme or other...like snowboarding, golf, hockey, blah blah blah.
2) Do you ever catch Family Business? How many of the "actors" on that show have you met? Do you know Adam? If yes, You should totally have him and his cousin on your show...
Later

Pan's Labyrinth, yes, I loved that film.
I don't blame u for not wanting to go out and about in LA. Is it really worth it? I mean being a celebrity and having your pic taken all the time? Or can you avoid the places where the paparazzi hang? Do they wait for you outside your house? It seems as though they're everywhere these days. It's like americans are avoiding the real world or they're being diverted from the real issues by immersing themselves in the lives of stars.
Maybe you should bring your umbrella with you...

Are you at all involved in the new show Paradise City? I saw brief clips of you and Carmen on one of the commercials for the program and have been wondering.

Q. I bought a Robbie French belt buckle and just love it...so when some of the good photos I took at the Portland and Long Beach shows also turned out to be good photos of you wearing Robbie's buckle I though it might be nice to share them with her since she has a few celebrity photos posted on her site. Do you mind? BTW - they are nice HOT photos, nothing dopey. Missed U Fukker. ;-) Dawna

Hey Dave,
Loved Pan's Labyrinth. It's one of those movies that you have to see twice inorder to take it all in. I wasn't expecting it to be so gory but that just made the movie better.
QUESTION: What's the current status of SPREAD ENTERTAINMENT INC (ManiaTV)and the FX show with Neil ?
XOXO,

Thanks for answering my question!! I feel the same way! People are fucked up in one way or anyother. I always say everyone has thier own Jerry Springer story....but I have mad love for you son, and I can honestly say it is based on respect for you. Don't get me wrong, you're as sexy as they come.....I just respect the hell outta ya!!
For the record... Both times I've met you I was so happy just to meet you, it never even occurred to me to ask for a photo. They are moments I'll never forget, that's enough for me!! Have a great night!!

Dave, you have always been very kind to me. When you performed at Canes in San Diego, you took photos with a lot of people. I went to six Rock Star tapings, and you always said hi to me, even signed my ONe CD with a heart!

I saw Perkins play here in Sonoma County last night...Banyan totally killed it! I ended up helping out 'Tommy D' and selling some cd's for them! HAHAHA I got a chance to talk w/ Stephen for a while after the show, and he had some awesome things to say about TPC's next album. He seemed really, really excited about everything and I'm glad to hear you both are happy with the way things are going.
Thanks for the 5, have a good trip and hope to hear a new SRL soon!
Love, Amber :)

Great new post Dave!
I wondered. Is there one item that happened on this past tour that you can share with us - that was just incredible?
Making a post on some of the e-mails you have gotten will be quite interesting. I am amazed that people send nasty ones - why would they do that???? But I have lots of whys as to what people do.....
Have a safe and fun trip!
Always,

Hey Dave - what the hell is up with that Janet Charlton? Why is she always hating on you??? Stupid cow....I just wrote her an email to verbally bitch-slap her for being so ignorant to her. Someone needs to put a muzzle on that one....
Anyway - happy Friday, man! :)

Why do you slap the paparazzi when you clearly court publicity in so many other ways, e.g. organising a *marriage* just for the sake of public exposure, and hanging out at parties and public venues very noticeably? Also the way you dress doesn't exactly make you blend into the crowd....

What's going on in AC?
Lucky for me (and my date) I was able to get tix for the Bacardi event next weekend. Big up to Billy for posting the link. Really looking forward to it. I'll be in Miami anyway seeing friends, so it's an extra bonus to go to the show.
Is Lenny Kravitz joining you too?
