Keeping It Over Here!
(Photo: Deena - Me and Riss, my friend and manager... In that order.) Well, I finally did it! After weeks of going back and forth on the issue I decided to delete the MySpace profile. I have a new one that is in place for personal friends and family... People I see on a regular basis, but that's it. I only have a handful of friends and it is manageable now. I was a lot happier over here with the real family. Plus, it just got to a point where I was getting nothing but spam anyway. I ended up not checking it for days, deleting pages at a time and missing out on actual mail. So now we are back to square one. The funny thing is, I have already received hate mail from people who are pissed that I deleted the MS page. I remember when people were pissed that I ever signed up to begin with. I guess you can never win. It was fun while it lasted but it was so clearly time to move on.
Having said that, on to other things. Riss and I had a great time in Atlantic City, and Vegas last week, except for when Riss had an asthma attack and we had to get her to the hotel doctor right away. She quickly recovered after a dose of oxygen and off we went. A little scare that proved to be nothing more. In AC, we hit a party then had dinner with Deena and her friend. In the Las Vegas airport, I finally met Biinstinctual and she was really kind, helping us out of a miserable line/zone mess. This week Camp Freddy is doing that thing in Miami and then I am going back to Vegas for a couple more days. Then, my travel will be finished for a while and I can get back to writing music, working on the new loft space and finally getting that photo art show together. Whew! It already feels way more mellow just working on this site alone. Thanx for sticking around.
How about a ten? Awwwww!!!! I missed it here.

Dave, I'm glad you got rid of MySpace for my own selfish reasons, but happy none the less. This means we get more here.
Happy travels!
P.S. Pull's doing a great job on SRL and he's a cool cat.

Oooh! I have to geek out and say FIRST. Only 'cause I've never been.
See guys, you've all said you hate my new schedule, but it has its perks. (The board will live without my post whore-ness.)

Hi Dave, I am pleased you finally made a decision. Your true fans will not have a problem with you leaving Myspace. There has and always will be 6767.com, what else could Dave Navarro fans want?! But I did get a shock when I saw you were not in my top eight anymore.... I headed straight over here to see what was up.
Much Respect

Oh I thought I was first hehe.
I think it's AWESOME you got rid of MYSPACE (although I was friend number 335689 hahaha). I felt kind of cheated in a way when i saw you had MYSPACE and copied stuff from here to there.
I think that your true fans are 67'rs - no myspacers :o)))
On a light note i'm off to RockStar Supernova Concert in Auckland NZ Vector Arena next Saturday. Funny really cause I thought when SkunkBoy won i'd not support them... but "the rand" going on tour swayed me enought to spend a "hundy" on a ticket.
Have a good one :o))))

Hahah! You're a dork. That's why we got nothing but love for you.
Why can't I find your book anywhere?? It's driving me nuts. I don't remember where I got it when I got it as a gift and I don't want to wait for it if I order it online.
Posted by: Jenn at March 15, 2007 03:18 AM
Hey Dave, welcome back, I hope AC was a good trip.
In case you do another ten, here's my question.
If you could form an all-star band with people that are in the spirit realm (not including living people who travel outside their body hehe), who would you choose to jam with?
Looking forward to seeing more Camp Freddy and of course The Panic Channel!
i'm gonna go jam with my new rotovibe now :)
Posted by: Andrew at March 15, 2007 03:27 AM
Welcome back D!
Good thing for myspace, when it gets to that point, thats the best thing to do.
Hey, do you follow the whole Year Zero promo with fake sites/Usb sticks hidden at shows, leaked songs from NIN (Trent actually)?
Year Zero is set to be something!
What about the live recording of the last panic channel tour? the soundboard recording gotta be somewhere, no? :p
Take good care!

Many successful people do. This is not a snarky comment.
If so, how do you overcome it?

Posted by: Juliana at March 15, 2007 04:27 AM
YAY! Now we get you all to ourselves again. That may be selfish but I don't care. Although, I do hope you keep the SRL page up, sometimes that's the only way I know you're "goin live!" (speaking of which, a new show would be fantastic)
Can't think of any questions, maybe tomorrow. It's well after 4am. Great pic though...Riss is so fuckin cute.
Lots of love to you Dave, and of course to the fam.

Hey, Dave. :-) As long as you're the one that deleted your 'space, that's cool, dude. My only concern, initially, was whether or not your account had been hacked. I'm glad that's not the case. I completely understand and respect your decision. The amount of spam huge accounts like yours can get on MySpace is boggling. Good on ya, man, for 'taking it back,' same as you always do. :-)
I'm glad Larissa is okay. {{{Larissa}}}
I'm happy you're doing all the things you enjoy... traveling, spending time with friends and loved ones, having fun and working on projects. Can't wait to hear some new tunes from you and the boys. Not to mention all the other cool projects you have in the works.
Hey, it's all good. :-) I'm glad you came to a decision that's resulting in a more peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable vibe for you. It's good to see you back in action and peace to all our peeps. :-)

I am glad to here you had a great trip. I just got your book, I am absolutley hooked. I will be ignoring my children for a few more days until I am finished. :)
I was reading some questions people ask you, what do you think of all the advice people ask you. Sorry my f****** question mark button is not working.
Someone asked were they can get your book, in a question up above, I ordered it online.

Hey Dave! Hey family! It makes me happy that you deleted your myspace. We missed you here. I've visited 6767 every day for a few years now, but I think I may have been to your myspace two or three times total....too much rif raff. To be honest, I didn't even notice you were gone until someone at the asylum pointed it out.

After your years of sobriety, are you still ever tempted (particularly on tour)or are those urges pretty much "out of your system"?

Hi DN, missed you!
So funny, I stared at my myspace profile page last night for a while (at least 5 mins) and was totally pissed that some one in my top few had deleted me and I couldn't remember who it was!! All I knew was that I had Tom's inane features grinning at me. By the time I realised that it was you I was just dropping by here to see if we had any new DN posts and there it was the confirmation that you'd gone. I hated commenting there anyway, love it here.
Sunday / Thursday 10.
1) Any new pets? (Or any new pet-medics?)
2) Do you miss the dogs?
3) I still wanna know what was the funniest moment in the whole tour for you?
4)Can you ride a bike?
5)What's the newest thing /skill you've learnt to do?
6) Do you like cooking? What's your fave dish?! I remember the kitchen in the vids and the book and it was so anorexic, wondered if you've since / ever developed some love for the culinary arts!
7)Have you decided on touring Europe this year?
8) Chocolate or vanilla ice cream?
9) Last book you read?
10)Do you eat your five fruit and veg a day? ;) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey Davey Baby!
Glad to have you back and hear you had a stellar trip. I myself am overdue for my bi-yearly trip to the Sin City and grow antsy.
My 2007 wouldn't be complete without over priced caesar salad at the Steakhouse in Caesar's Palace. Have you ever had one there? It's like 3 leaves of lettuce tied with a cheese bow and 4 crutons.
Very disappointing haha.
Do you find that you eat dinner 3 times a night when you're there due to everything being open so late and sleep being few and far between?
I know whenever I go, it's a constant smorgasbord, Hard Rock Cafe, then maybe Rainforest Cafe, then a little buffet action.
Oh food.

for the 10...
Dave, being a great musician like you are, have you ever been interested in the works of genius composers like those classical dudes, you know, your Mozarts & Beethovens and what nots?
cos I find it very hard to get into that stuff even though I know I "should" at least check it out and even like it, being a fan of music...
you see, I´m a "rock" guy, but I can go as far as Miles Davis, the great soul singers, even bossa nova classicas and shit... but classical music I just don´t "get" . i doesn´t move me as much! Any thoughts on the subject? do you ver listen to Bach and shit? and what is it like to you? pure "research" or totally moving??
thanks a lot!!

Dave, just tell the haters to eat a dick, as usual. They'll go away eventually. The people that actually care about you know the deal and will deal with it accordingly.
It blows my mind that you're getting hate mail for getting rid of a burden that was out of control anyway. Whatever. I am just glad you're keeping 6767 up and running. YOU KNOW WHO'S GOT YOUR BACK...just remember that when you deal with the people who contribute nothing but negativity.
No questions, have a safe trip for the CF show.
Glad you're back. Sometimes the way things start is the way they're supposed to be.

Wow. I start to wonder exact where the time has gone. Gosh, I remember getting to this place and see it was up and running again back in 04, and I loved to read your posts. But I guess life caught up with me or something because I've not been here in years. The reason I checked back now was because about a month ago a friend gave me a link to TPCs myspacepage and I fell of the chair! I remember you mentioning a new project and I remember when you gave out the name but I had no idea it actually went to this! Anyway, I listened to the songs and I really liked them so I ordered the CD and I gotta say I love it. It's been in my mp3player for some time now and I just love the songs and your guitarplaying. It still gives me goosepimples. You are inspiration Dave, now as well as you were when I discovered you as a kiddo about ten years ago and your playing made me want to learn to play guitar. I hope to hear more from the band, I'm looking forward to it, and I am gonna try to find time to stop by here more often than once every two, tree years or whatever it's been..

Was surprised by the deleted myspace page, but not really effected by it (I mean, who would be, really? It's just a myspace page). Sucks about the hate mail. I got a bulletin from one of your "fans" who was quite upset. I guess the cyber world sometimes makes people believe they are closer than they really are.
So, I question:
You have been around many moons....Do you think that the internet makes the fans feel more entitled or have more of a relationship with you than they really do?
Posted by: Saria at March 15, 2007 09:18 AM
Aw, what a pleasant surprise to see a new post! And what a wonderful post this is. I'm so glad to hear that 6767 is here to stay. It's become such a nice part of so many of our lives, as you can clearly see. :)
Congrats on liberating yourself from MySpace if that's what you truly wanted to do. MySpace has its plusses, but I can see how it can evolve into an all-consuming, soul-sucking vortex of spam, greed, artifice, and false promises. Not to mention a job in and of itself.
Glad you're enjoy your newfound "Dave time". Have a safe, fun trip to Miami and best of luck with all the projects. (Looking forward to them.) Stay cool, stay focused, stay as wonderful as you are. :)

Totally understandable regarding MySpace. It shouldn't be a popularity contest on how many friends one can rack up but rather used as a real interaction space with those who matter.
On another note, "Pan's Labyrinth" is an amazing movie, and if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend "The Devil's Backbone", it's just as good.

Great pic. MySpace reminds me of that Judd Nelson line from The Breakfast Club..."So it's kinda social...demented and sad...but social."
Have a great time with Camp Freddy this weekend.

Hi Dave. Hope things are going well. I can see why you deleted your "myspace". When things get to the point that they are uncontrollable and annoying then it is time to move on and do something else. Writing new songs is a great place to start. Can't wait to hear them when they are done! Your "true" friends are here. At home. Thanks for keeping us posted!

I don't blame you for deleting your myspace page at all. I had one for a bit and I couldn't stand all of the garbage that goes along with having one. Glad you are focusing you talents in a more finite way. Good luck with things.

Hi Dave! Don't blame you one bit for deleting the myspace page. Leaves a gaping hole in my Top 24, but that's okay. Looking forward to your photo art show - it's the photo booth images, right?
