Afternoon, Dave. :-) I'm just dropping by with some hugs and a "good on ya, man" for making some very savvy, life-affirming choices and sticking with them. They definitely look--and sound--great on you. :-)

As for the "vulture press," the ironic thing is they generally bother you when you are doing something perfectly normal or responsible. How sad that they have to try and make a buck off of 'earthshattering' events like you visiting the gym or going out to dinner with friends. I think you muck with their radar because you're a good guy with a 'bad boy' image. You *look* like something they could sink their greedy little fangs into... But, they're left grasping at air and fabricating events when they try. The thing that bugs me is you're the type of person that already gives so much to everyone around you, I really wish folks would stay out of your personal and private life. Ah, well, 'if wishes were fishes,' hey? Peace to you and all the peeps. :-)

Hey Dave, glad you are back safe and sound. Seems like you are getting really good at the LA-Miami-Vegas circuit! I went from Seattle to Ft. Myers, Florida and back a few weeks ago and that trip almost killed me, haha. I rather enjoy travelling by car, but travelling by plane is just ridiculous anymore.

I'm trying to catch up! I've been really busy trying to put together enough work for a show (I paint).... DAVE....#1) Do you know why you weren't included in the VH1 Classic Poker Tourn. ? You would have been a better choice than the others! Moi! #2) I have been in love with the guitar all of my life and when I hear a solo that just rips I am overcome with sexual energy (it's really quite dangerous!) Do you feel the same way when you play?...Lastly, I saw RHCP here in Houston at the Toyota Center and I must say, the whole "stadium" thing just left me feeling so disconnected. Don't get me wrong, they jammed, but it didn't even feel like I was there. UNLIKE when TPC was here at the Meridian and I got to stand at your feet while you and your guitar twisted my insides, in a good way! You've ruined me for all others! I hope it won't be long before you come around this way again and even though I wish you "stadium-sized success" I hope you keep it personal...much love from Tejas!

I am trying to kick cigarettes - again. I had a very bad asthma attack a little over 2 weeks ago and have not smoked since. Really hard not to now that I am feeling better - that's the insanity of any addiction, huh? I feel for your manager. Trying to breathe is like sucking air through a coffee stirrer. Sugar has never been an issue but I am coming up on 3 years clean and sober - April 1 - April Fool's day - ha ha. Congratulations on your continued sobriety and how you stay that way. I believe that you are an enlightened soul and that you seem to strive for continued growth. And I hate to say it but if I saw you in public, I would probably scare you with my screech - ha ha. Dave -- Welcome back. Just for the record there are still some good guys out there with the cameras. My crew hate the fucking paparazzi as much as the celebrities. They give all photographers a bad name.
I make each of them sign a waiver in their contract that they cannot do any paparazzi style photography. Hopefully some laws will get passed soon before some on gets hurt and come on most the photos suck. Everybody deserves to have a life.

It's been been forever once again since I last posted a comment. Been following things around here, anyway. Damn, I've really missed you, the vibe and the Family!

Too bad about the MySpace thing, but I totally see your point. I mean, the whole Myspace experience is supposed to be a good thing, right?! Anything beyond that is a good reason to put the shit to rest.

One thing I also want to bring up as well is the TPC album. Having had enough time to LISTEN, evaluate and ponder, I finally think I'm able to give an objective view on some things. I mean, unsuccessful musicians always have to be really anal and ASSess those who they're inferior to.. hahaha. Anyhow, me and my bandmates have come to a conclusion that you show an unforeseen amount of versatility in your playing on this album. It really is great! Should I think it were crap, I probably wouldn't bring it up. I wonder what it is that's brought so much of range to your sound and the musical choices you've come up with? Any new toys on the pedalboard or other gear you haven't been using previously? I know that most of the time it's got nothing to do with the equipment you're using and I think Eric Avery gave me a good truth when I once asked him about the gear he was using at the time, by saying "i generally believe that once you get to a certain equipment brand and quality level it becomes more about the writer than the pen".

On to other subjects, I just realized it's three weeks until NIN plays a gig here in Helsinki. Having bought the tickets a good six months ago, it came as a small surpise, but it definitely gave me a mental hard-on.
