Crossing The Border
It's close to 4 a.m. and I am all alone in the front lounge of the bus right now as our crew and the band are sound asleep in their bunks. We are about to cross the border into Canada and I figured, why not take the opportunity to have some quiet time, watch a movie and not have to be shaken awake once we reach the border in about an hour. Tomorrow is a day off anyway so I plan to lay in bed all day and then maybe hit some nightlife in Montreal. It's gonna be cold as fuck up there, but who cares. Speaking of sleep... Of course we uploaded the sleep video with Sean's approval and I must say he is very touched by your concern but he is totally fine. He is just a heavy sleeper. The shows have been going great. Two nights ago we played our own club show in Baltimore and went out after with some of our friends. It's been killer playing to the big houses with Supernova but at the same time, we really love the small intimate shows. We always go away with a really specific memory from the small shows because each has a different vibe and we get to be in contact with the hard-core fans. The arenas are always rad, but sooner or later all of the backstages start to blend together into one big memory. Of course, we do remember the shows, but the before and after hang time is a lot less interactive with the street. I'll probably hit up another Spread Radio Live from my room tomorrow.
If you want to throw a late Sunday 10 at me, go for it.

First?
I wish we were getting a small show here in Nor Cal, but I'll take TPC any way I can get them.
Hmmm..trying to think of a question...(My brain is slow this late/early!)
Ok, What's your favorite tour memory from your career and why?
Have a great time in Montreal!
Love,
Nicole XOXO

Sunday 10: In all, how many of you are currently making the tour bus your home? Do you know which bands have toured on that bus previously?
Posted by: Caffeinated Sue at January 22, 2007 01:32 AM
Wow...it must be close to getting "blue" outside...I used to hate that feeling when I was up after getting high all night. Blech!
Ok, so here are a couple possibilities to keep you entertained:
~ What movies have you watched thus far...you and Perkins got your Freeman marathon started yet?
~Can you explain the process of how TPC gets booked for those small club dates. Is there ANYTHING that we Agents can do (for future reference) to increase the possibilities of TPC's presence in our area, or is it all in the hands of Capital?
~Did LV hook you up w/ that guitar strap or did you have to buy it? It's hella nice.
That's all I've got! Have fun in Canada and enjoy not being under the jurisdiction of little Georgie. What a wonderful feeling that must be!
Love, Amber :)
PS. If you haven't seen the movie "Boondock Saints" yet then I highly recommend it. Willem Defoe is fantastic in it, plays a gay detective...dark comedy...you'd totally love it.

So I asked this once on your myspace, but I am really curious, and thought I'd try again. If a girl went to your pittsburgh show what's the likelihood she could meet you and spend some time on the bus,. :)

Sunday 10- How many hours does the bus move before the legal time limit of rest for the driver is reached?

Oh and a movie suggestion...
"The Devil's Backbone" if you haven't seen it...
I just saw it the other day on IFC... and it has promptly added Guillermo del Toro on my list of the modern day movie greats along with Quinten Tarantino, Pedro Almodovar and David Lynch!!!

Wow guys, what a show that was in Baltimore! I really enjoyed the jam at the end of She Won't Last!
Of course every song was pure magic, you guys are a true inspiration for me and countless others.. Stephen's drum solo was also a nice surprise.. i have seen Billy Kreutzmann, Hart, Peart, Tito Puente, etc.. but that solo for me was the greatest I have ever seen.. Siggy also surprised me, I like how he kept it simple and not too overpowering, I was expecting him to be all over the place but he did really well! Steve was the ultimate showman, it's like you were sitting on top of a volcano and then it just erupted! And of course Dave, once again your performance just completely shook my world and probably made all the ladies in the audience quiver for days! hahaha but seriously, thank you from the core of my being, that was what it's all about! My question is.. Is there anyway for a fan such as myself to get involved with Spread Entertainment and help get the word out about it?
All the best,
andrew

Dave, have you heard weather or not there will be a Rockstar 3? Loving the updates from the road.
Posted by: Shane at January 22, 2007 03:59 AM
Hi Dave!
I bet it does get hard to sleep with Sean's snoring - he's got sleep apnea and needs a c-pak!
So, when you are on the road like this, what do you do for meals?
How hard is it to find some personal time with such a busy schedule and tight quarters?
Is there any thing in particular you like about being on the road?
Who drives your tour bus?
Stay safe!!!
Always,
me

Hey, Dave. :-) Alright, I'm glad your boy Sean is okay. I'll be able to watch that video with guilt-free laughter, then, you crazy guys. ;-)
Welcome back to Canada! :-) You know we love you guys on this side of the border. :-) Hope my East Coast homies treat y'all right. I'm glad you're getting to do some more intimate club dates, for all the reasons you stated. But, pretty much every single fan review from the main tour specifically mentions how awesome you guys are for your RSSN shows. Cool, love listening to SRL. Hmmmm... questions. Let's see...
1) You mentioned getting some hang time with Gilby and 'talking shop' on guitars. Have you had a chance to see/talk to anyone like Toby and his JK boys or Johnny "Colt .45?" All very sweet, cool dudes. :-)
2) Loved your "touch it" anecdote about Lukas. LOL Do you have any more amusing recollections of "our boy" on the road, so far (that can be repeated in public LOL)? ^^ There is a video of his Norfolk "Buckley" performance circulating right now and, dude, seriously, it just blew me away. His voice on that tune is unbelievably beautiful. :-)
3) What have been your favorite moments/memories from the tour, so far? :-)
Thanks, man. I expect the Montreal and T.O. shows will be completely wild, since they're a 'homecoming' for Lukas. I’m sending positive energy, good thoughts, love and peace out to everyone. :-)

I have a question for you Dave. I am sure there are times on the road when tension is high and just like taking a trip with close friends conflict is bound to arise at some point. My questions is, does conflict occur on the bus / road and what sort of things do you all do to get space, chill out and work things out before the next show.
8/12" - nice

Hey Dave!
Saw you in Albany last night..fucking AMAZING show,i couldn't believe how much everyone who came from Rockstar has grown into these great performers and gave a rockin concert..i had gone to the blog to see how the shows were going and when you said tommy was loud..theres no way to describe that... it was LOUD (but perkins little drum solo should have tommy jealous)
anyway...you were absolutely amazing as always, i loved it so much i'm trying to get tickets to the NYC show as well..no luck on great seats so far..i like it wayyyy up front baby! kisses!

Sean needs to get a sleep study done. My husband has sleep apnea, and acutally sounded worse. Neighbors upstairs would pound on their floor because the noise woke them up. Fro years now, he has been wearing a cpap (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) when sleeping. It's given him a lot more energy during the day. Plus, going without one, can lead to heart problems.
I strongly encourage Sean to follow through with diagnosis and treatment... it will improve his quality of life!

Glad you get to have a little alone time.... best part of a road trip for me is when everybody else in the car falls asleep and I get to watch the sun come up by myself while driving / listening to my favorite CD's.
So, have you realized yet that you are going to be in Chicago on Superbowl weekend... and it will be CHAOS here? Are you or any of the other guys football fans? Let me know if you need a big screen to watch on....

Welcome back to Canada Dave! I am really hoping I get to come see you guys in T.O. just a few last minute things to arrange. I wish TPC was doing a small side show but it will be great to you see you rock out on the big stage! Get your toque ready it is cold!
Enjoy your visit, thanks for keeping us in the loop on the tour. It is so amazing that you continue to have this connection with your fans!

Baltimore was amazing...well worth the flight in from AZ. "Thank you, boys!!!"
Question:
What's it like to kiss a complete stranger in front of a room full of complete strangers??
Back in the day, summer of '91 Lollapalooza to be exact, you made my night with an intimate verbal thank you after I gave you a bracelet from the crowd, my own personal rockstar moment. :) I got to re-live it vicariously through the blond you brought up on stage Saturday at Sonar.
(Was this a question or a thank you?)
Posted by: k at January 22, 2007 06:51 AM
A while back my husband saw you coming out of the Ritz in phoenix and got your autograph. He said you thanked everyone and were so cool about being asked. In a world where some like you seem so put out by fans, you strive to stay so connected. What makes you different?

Hi Dave
so glad all is going well for you. love the pix here and the new one on myspace, you look happy and at peace. thanks for keeping in contact with us. love you.
do you like to take photos of the areas you tour or visit?

Hi Dave!!! Question.
When I hear the name Dave Navarro, a very specific vision comes to mind. It would appear that you have perfected your "look" to the point of perfection and you come off very comfortable where you are. So my question is, Do you still consider yourself a work in progress in terms of your image or are you satified?
Posted by: Ellen Levin at January 22, 2007 07:45 AM
Hey Dave, welcome to Canada! More importantly, welcome to Montreal! Be careful tonight. it's going to be -30ish with the wind chill. so make sure to cover your ears. any chance you might tell us, or me, where you'll be headed tonight?
Have Fun!

I've got a question:
There's some Satellite Party songs over at myspace.com/satelliteparty. What do ya think?

hi DN, that post was so mellow and sweet. really could hear the vibe flow through your words.
Q: have you any cute little rituals that you just gotta do before you go on stage?
enjoy Canada, totally looking forwards to SRL.

Hey Dave,
Great show in Albany last night!!! Loved the Panic Channel best of all (reason I went). I love how dynamic you are in concert -- never standing still for a moment. And Steve Isaacs too -- great front man. You guys jell nicely. Absolutely great. I keep thinking about it today and wishing you could have played for longer. I realize Supernova is the headliner, but not in this girl's book! Keep on rockin' and lookin' so sexy Mr. Guitar God. Come back and rock Albany again!!!! Just the Panic Channel. Love ya, Lynn

Question...Poker at the Borgata in Atlantic City on the 26th, before or after the show? I wasn't able to get tickets for the show but would love to join you for some no limit poker. The Borgata has a nice poker room and some World Poker tour events are going on at that time in the event center!
thanks

DAVE! Sunday 10 question
I like to wear tighter jeans (not real baggy) but I always wanted to know where do you put your wallet so you dont have this big buldge coming off of your leg? I figure famous rock people like you or Slash wouldn't even have to carry a wallet so what do you do? any suggestions?
Posted by: skullneck at January 22, 2007 10:03 AM
Damn baby your tits are looking real fine!!! Sorry for momentarily degrating you but they look so delicious I just had to mention it.
Glad the tour is going well for you all...how's canada???
see ya in a few weeks.

When you're up on stage with your shirt off...do you ever get cold? I imagine once you get started you warm up quick...but with so little body fat...aren't those big venues a little drafty at first?
D
Posted by: Dawna at January 22, 2007 10:23 AM
i'm trying to compose a sunday 10 ? but can't get it out. i'm trying to ask/comment on how the dynamic has changed for the fans and for you guys playing shows while maintaning the somewhat intimate connection going with the folks who read this blog. this medium takes following your favorite artist to a new level. i am new to this blog, so it's kinda cool keeping up with it and then going to the shows....i wonder what the blogs would have been like back in the day of janes. maybe we were all to high/young/drunk whatever to have even paid attention. anyway...thanks for your continued commitment to this it's really cool. looking forward to fri and next wed.
oh and is that Chanel Black Satin nail polish?

Posted by: BkSlice at January 22, 2007 10:47 AM
^^ Great question, BK. Often wondered that myself. ^^
Hope you're having a good time. I'll have to check out the sleep apnea vid later; at least now he knows he *might* possibly have a problem.
Montreal... I haven't been there in years, but from what I remember, it was a beautiful, beautiful city. Unbelievable churches/architecture. The nightlife is supposedly great as well - some of the best DJs in the world - not to mention other "entertainment" from what I hear - so enjoy whatever it is that floats your boat.
Be safe, be well, rock on.
4 more days...
All the best,

Hey Dave,
Does Sean have like a medicen to help with his breathing at night? Like an inhalor or somthing? Because it sounds serous. Has he gone to the doctor for this?
Speaking of medication, how do you all keep trake of all yours? I have like 11 meds to take in the morning. Talk to you soon.
Summer
Posted by: Summer at January 22, 2007 12:33 PM
Welcome back to the Great White North, Dave!
Hope you packed something warm 'cuz we wouldn't want you to get frost bitten.
Your dude Sean needs to get his butt to a sleep clinic ASAP. He'll most likely need either a C-PAP or BiPAP machine to treat his condition...added bonus, y'all will have quieter nights on the bus.
When you stop in T.O., check out Pan's Labyrinth @ the V.I.P. cinemas...awesome flick.
have a great time here.
much love,

See, Dave, I am not the only one that recognized Sean has sleep apnea!
Anyway, are you going to do 10?
Always,
me
Posted by: Angel at January 22, 2007 12:57 PM
It sure sounds like (he) has a sleep apnea. He needs a C-Pap machine. At the very least, BreatheRight strips (while on tour) to help keep his airway open.

What are the chances of getting the boys of Supernova to do some SRL with you? It would be especially great with you, Tommy, and Lukas. Three bad boys together...gotta be explosive.

Has TPC planned a follow up studio album to ONE yet? I know it's early, but what the hey...

you have such a good guitar sound on the jane's and deconstruction albums. do you come up with these tones by yourself or do you have a guitar tech or engineer help you out in the studio?
