5 of 10
1. How do you work out while you are on the road? It is possible but must be more challenging.
Yeah it is possible but I simply don't. With all the travel and lack of sleep and irregular eating habits I usually just use the road as a means to take a break from it. Plus, our shows are very high in cardio so our heart rates get a daily kick in the ass regardless.
2. I like to wear tighter jeans (not real baggy) but I always wanted to know where do you put your wallet so you don't have this big bulge coming off of your leg?
No wallet... ID, cash, credit card... Back pocket or jacket.
3. Have you any cute little rituals that you just gotta do before you go on stage?
I don't know how "cute" it is, but the four of us do a four way pound thing (you can see it in the Teahouse video) to collectively loosen up on an emotional level and tighten up on a communicative level.
4. My questions is, does conflict occur on the bus / road and what sort of things do you all do to get space, chill out and work things out before the next show.
To be honest we really don't run into much conflict but when we do we are pretty good at just talking it out and getting past it. In fact, we usually talk things out before there is a conflict. Of course people get moody and when they do, they/we usually retire to the bunk or just chill in the room.
5. One bathroom and seven guys? Democratic scheduling?
Well, there is a universal rule about the bathroom on any bus. Liquids only! In that respect, nobody is ever in there for more than a minute or two.

hmmm...That was more than we needed to know on question five...
So, doesn't all that ice outside make you want to put on a pair of ice skates? Ever try it? We'd love to see that! Panic channel skating video!

Sorry I said cute! Thank you so much for answering - about to re-watch teahouse vid which is even on my myspace page and can't believe I am so unobservant, ouch, sorry.
(And oh-mi-god, series 4 nip/tuck, how many amazing special guests and wickedly delicious themes can there be).
Also thought the answer to Q 5 was pretty much a decent rule to adopt in any house if possible send the boys to their own loo! lol!
Have a great day.

ps: does that "ritual" change depending on who you're playing with then? (asked billy what he does and sounds like he pretty much rocks up and rocks out). thank u.

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions, once again you proven worthy of praise. I love the fact that you take time to communicate with us fans.
I know its fucking cold here in Canada, especially in Montreal right now because of the front that just went through. Having spent my entire life in this frigid climate here are a few tips to stay warm.
1)wool socks ( yeah they suck and make your feet itch if you don't have a buffer between the socks and your skin)but it works.
2) get the girls to stand on either side of you so that they can block the wind.
3) Don't go out ...lol just kidding though a hat might also be a good idea to stay warmer or maybe a funky scarf.

Have a good night off Dave. ;-)
Question: When you have a night off during the tour, does it make the next show you do a little more energetic/fun or does it break your consistency?

What up with the comment lockdowns Dave? I want to comment on older (but still recent) posts but I never can because everything is always "closed"... :s

6 - 10?
Looking into the crystal ball, what song on ONe might be the future direction of TPC's next album?
Personally speaking, I hope it's "Night One" - it has a much darker/edgier sound to it and like the transitions in it, especially near the end...
PS: I recently bought The Cult's, "Pheonix", and for some strange reason some of the riffs remind me of IP/CF's "I Wanna Be Your Dog". Different but similar?? Anyhow, not sure why I brought that up other than they're both killer tunes.

Hey Dave,
Are you most creative in the early morning? Or do you just have a hard time winding down after a show.
Hilarious video. My brother snores loud like that too. hehehe
Thanks for posting the Sunday 10. I wasn't sure if you'd do it while on tour.
I know how much you rave about Battle Star Galactica. Scifi channel had a marathon last Monday. I think they premiered a new episode. I am a big scifi fan. I think I'll give the show a second chance and try to watch it. I just couldn't get into it. I stopped watching after the third or fourth episode from the first season.
Hope you had the TiVo set for the season premiere.
I hope I don't miss your radio show tomorrow. Can you post the podcast for those that miss it. I'll most likely still be at work when you're on the air.
Try to stay warm. It's cold in Chi-town too. I doubt it will warm up come Feb 3rd when TPC rolls into town.
I didn't know Dave Matthews was a fan. LMAO!
Have a great night!

Hey, Dave. :-) Hope you and the boys enjoyed your day off in Montreal. "kHz" did a great show tonight for SRL. I'm happy they've started doing regular weekly programs, now. I think Raiana has picked up a bunch of your speech habits, though--she sounds exactly like you, sometimes. LOL I love how she can sing so sweetly, one moment, and then blow out speakers in kick butt rock chick mode. ;-) I must say, Pull is another dude with darn fine taste in music, too. Can't wait to see what other delightful surprises "Spread Entertainment" will bring us in coming months. Wishing y'all a great night and peace to you, the guys and all the peeps. :-) Hope you're ready for your next two RSSN shows, because they should be insane--especially the one at Massey Hall. :-)

Good Morning Dave and 6767 I just watched Teahouse three times back to back - thought I was tired last night but still can't see the 4 way pound thing in any detail unless you mean right at the start and that's what you and the boys are doing when the cam catches you all just before you hit stage. Never would have known if you hadn't said. DN it's a rockin hot vid, love it, sooooooooooooooooooooo sexy, easy to get distracted by the raw energy (great vocals and you with your shirt off....) If you mean anything else could you possibly explain one time or can "someone" as someone ALWAYS knows everything on here, let me know! THANKS.

My question; How come The Panic Channel aren't joining Supernova on their dates in Australia?
Posted by: Aussie at January 23, 2007 05:17 AM
re: smoking. when keith richards was here, we just respected our elders and let him smoke wherever he wanted, so i'm sure they'd let dave smoke anywhere - he's a rockstar bygod!

I was wondering what made you pick up guitar when you first started playing and what influenced you to keep playing and practicing as much as you did? Also, did you know even before you were even in Jane's Addiction that you were going to be playing guitar for a living?
