Get In The Zone ~ Auto Zone!
This is funny. Any gamblers out there? If so, I can help you with the odds. This is one ZONE you can safely bet that I will be avoiding. Tonight is another edition of Camp Freddy Radio on Indie 103.1FM from 6pm-8pm PST. Click the link to listen live online. More than likely, I will have the webcast going during the show and you can access that by clicking the Webcast (when available) link on the right of this page. Also, during this holiday week, I will be doing more Spread Radio Live shows from home, not to mention taking some questions for the Sunday 10.
Here is the Camp Freddy Radio Podcast!

Hey kid, looking forward to SRL!
What is one thing your fans would be surprised to learn about you?
For instance, I can start up a conversation with just about anyone. I am very outgoing, so people are surprised that I get extremely nervous talking in front of a group.
Posted by: Linda from San Diego at November 18, 2006 01:23 PM
I just enlarged that photo of you and Scott, you look like you're having an orgasm? HAHAHA

Hey DN> At least with Brit, you would have a self -made family?
Am looking forward to the CFR and the SRL. Haven't heard he famous DN laugh for awhile. Could you do another voice like you did on Halloween? THe scary voice? I need a good LAUGH!!
Kwestion? Was watching the cribs episode you had on MTV last night. I wondered if you have kept any of the odd paintings? Do you still collect them? The Barbara Bush one?
Thanx for all U are, Db

Thank you for a wonderful week, D. I had a lot of personal shit going on and you and the boys turned it right around. Take care of that foot, brotha.
Here's a question: Over the years you've talked a lot about things you'd like to do with Spread Entertainment. With the upcoming new digs, can you give us a little teaser of what it will consist of?
Posted by: Theresa at November 18, 2006 03:00 PM
Hey Dave, I have an URGENT Sunday 10 question!
Now, I posted it in the last comment section, but it might have been missed.
I just paid $50.00 to put an ad in my school's yearbook to advertise Spread Radio Live, to get more people knowing about it. (I also created a Spread Radio Street team. We Spread the word about your station.) But I was just wondering... is this ok with you? Is there any copyright issues I should know about?
It would be greatly appreciated if this could be answered, ASAP. :) You rock man!
Posted by: Shannon at November 18, 2006 03:00 PM
1. When was SRL's birthday? I could have sworn it was a year ago this week that I heard you live from your bedroom.
2. As a fellow Celebreality buff, what's your favorite...Run's House or House of Carters? I totally identify with Leslie's middle child sensitivity, but Aaron's "I need to get to my MUSIC" is REALLY getting on my nerves.
3. So, who's cooking your turkey this year?
4. Stuffing, inside or outside of the bird?
5. What happened to Rokbar Hollywood? Any plans to open a similar nightspot, maybe as part of Spread Entertainment?
love to all my fam!
jezzi(odds I will hook up with Brittney...even)

When does entertainment become art? Such as music, do you consider your work as art or as a way of using media as entertainment?
PS, when are you guys coming to the UK? Surely you guys are due?

Right now I'm writing a paper on "Julius Caesar" for my English class and I wanted to know have ever read it? Did you like it? Or what was something you read in school?

Afternoon, Dave. :-) Thanks for literally making me laugh out loud. LOL That “Zone” link caught me off guard. The thought of you and B.S. is well… B.S. ;-) I “pity the fool” who ‘boldly goes where K-Fed has gone before…’ Ah, me… *sigh* I couldn’t care less about all that stuff, but that’s just rib-tickling amusing, that one. I’m sure you’ll have fun with the guys for CFR, tonight. The high jinx never end when you boys get together. :-) And, huzzah, thanks for spoiling us with upcoming SRLs. Sunday Ten, too… That’s just a pleasurable embarrassment of riches, thanks. I’m glad I dropped by… it suddenly feels like Christmas has come early. Hugs and peace to all our peeps—hope everyone has a safe, fabulous night. :-)

I have a couple questions for you Dave.
I am sure some know the answers already but I don't!
1. Where did you grow up?
2. Did you take guitar lessons or are you self taught?
And thanks for the B.S. chuckle. If you ventured that way I might have to slap some sense into you! Class has nothing to do with money. You have had class, don't go there!

Questions for the Sunday 10:
Do you do anything special to ground yourself before going on stage? How did you ever get used to performing in front of a bunch of people? Did you or do you still get jitters before you go on stage or were you always one of those people that thrived in front of an audience? What drew you to performing in the first place?
Oh, and one other question. Do you enjoy the occassional glass of wine or are you off that stuff too?
Posted by: mrs.bigglesworth at November 18, 2006 05:28 PM
hey dave, here's a question:
What do you think of the Supernova album? You can hear tracks online for free here:
I think Lukas's Headspin is the best track on it. Really intense and heavy. But also sounds great on the ballad, track 5.
Posted by: hendrixfan at November 18, 2006 05:34 PM
Have you ever tried the search engine msdewey.com?
It is really entertaining, but don't take too long to type your question, she gets impatient.

Curious to know the answer to this...what was the first album you ever owned? Was it a gift or did you buy it yourself? Do you still own the album? I remember getting my first album (Bruce Springsteen's The River) from my Dad for Christmas one year. I thought he was the coolest Dad in the whole world. I also remember saving my $$ to purchase an album for the first time like it was yesterday...hard to believe it was really over 25 years ago. I remember walking up & down the narrow aisles of the local hole in the wall record store, flipping through all my choices until I found just the right one. Anyway, I was wondering if your "first" holds an equally powerful memory for you.

Dave and Britney -- pul-leeesh. They could compare tattos and belly rings? It's such a good laugh. I just had my early '70's Lyle Tuttle buttefly tattoo covered and enlarged. The tattoo artist didn't want to mess too much with the integrity of this "vintage" Tuttle work of art. Came out o.k. The butterly got recolored and is now sitting on a huge work of green scrolling vines with an abstract flower on top. I told the guy to just go with it and go with it he did! He said women deal with the pain much better than guys. I was too busy listening to the BBC music show to pay attention to the work at hand (hip).

happy holidays to all who celebrate thanksgiving.
it was my birthday yesterday. i got an electric shock and spent 4 hours having an ecg in hospital instead. my arm is fucked temporarily but will resume normal service in a few days when it's stopped glowing and is no longer mistaken for a brick. infact the whole day was a total disaster and the evening worse. yes i know i'm not meant to write about anyone other than dave on dave's blog, i tried that with the first comment of hmmm - that was in relation to britney spears as the new Missus Navarro, there really is nothing else to say about from hmmm to that one.
sunday 10: worse birthday story?
i still want to know how you write - what inspires you and if you pick your guitar up alone just for yourself and jam.
looking forwards to srl. it's been too long!

This may sound strange, but how do you keep your ego in control and keep yourself so humble? You are the coolest guy on the planet.

I'm on the hunt for something new to listen to and I was wondering do you have a top 10 list of bands people probably havent heard of? (not necessarily from the present) thanks.

What advice would you give an fan who is addict having a hard time staying clean or sober?Especially cause usualy Thanksgiving and christmas are drinking occassions.I myself sober 10 months, don't even think of the stuff anymore like i used to,but curious what advice youd give your fans who may still be struggling?
Posted by: JewlCanadainGirl at November 19, 2006 08:05 AM
Hi Dave! How is your foot?
Curious about something. We out here in the
"regular" world have health plans (with killer
deductibles, I might add). But many musicians
that I know work about three other "day" jobs
with no benefits. Can an independent musician
join a co-op plan of some sort, in order to
get health insurance at a rate that will still
allow you to have heat and electricity??
Sending love and keeping you close in heart,

Do you ever feel inspired by other artist that are unsigned and want to use there music ideas along with yours?

JewelCanadainGirl, I don't know if Dave will answer your question, but I thought I may make a few suggestions. I have been clean and sober for almost three years now. I know the holidays are difficult. Where I live, they have marathon AA meetings during the holidays for people who need extra support. Hopefully your friends and family support your sobriety. Stay clear of friends you used to drink or use with and places that are slippery for you. Remember times when you wanted to drink, but was able to overcome it. I don't know what your substance abuse problem consists of, but remember the damage it has done to your life and others. My son died of a drug overdose, so I try to be an example to others. I am not saying this to boast, but I made it through two car accidents, my fathers suicide and the death of my son, clean and sober. I am telling you this so you know you can stay clean and sober even when life seems unfair and unbearable.
Good luck, you do have the strength to make it!

1. Who was your guitar hero when you were growing up?
2. What sports (if any) do you do when you're not playing guitar?

I agree with your poition about "taking it back" and really admire what your accomplishing with SRL because of "crap" forced to be played by the media, however you seem to back and even enjoy many of the artists that are heard on the radio. Is your beef less to do with the music that is played and more about the controls they use to decide what is played and lack of variety?
Blessings of healing to the foot! and thanks for laugh about the Britney thing! That was truly classic.

Linda from San Diego,
I agree with you completely with your advice about staying clean and sober not only through the holidays but any day. Lots of phone calls, lots of meetings, staying in touch with a higher power- staying connected with those that are making it one day at a time. I also have almost 3 years clean and sober and have made it through some amazing circumstances. I think it helps to want to stay clean almost more than breathing. Thanks for your E, S, & H.
You can do it JewlCanadainGirl - you really can.
Sorry to hijack your blog, Dave.
