Dragonfly Tonight
Tonight, The Panic Channel will be doing a short five song acoustic set at LA's Dragonfly. It'll be more like The Relaxing Channel. We will be doing Outsider, Blue Briuises and Why Cry as well as a couple covers. The show benefits charity, with all door proceeds going to the ASACP (Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection) and FSC (Free Speech Coalition). For more info go to XFANZ. In addition to our short set and the worthy causes, it should just be a fun hang with lots of other acts including a burlesque show, comedians Skippy Green and Bert Kreisher and the musical stylings Kurt Lockwood & Porn City Punks. The cover is only $10.00 and VIP tables are also available. Make inquiries to Joetta Velasquez at joetta@xbiz.com or (323) 965-1944.
(Thanx to Wendybird for the images.) Last night's XFANZ party was a lot of fun. Chris was out on tour with Taylor Hawkins so it was just me, Perk & Isaacs. We did a couple cover songs at the end of the set: Pinball Wizard and Highway To Hell... Acoustic. A great time was had by all and it was killer to see our Asylum members hanging out with us right up front as always! Plus, we were able to do our thing for ASACP. Tonight I am joining Billy and the boys for a last minute Camp Freddy gig in Hollywood. Yeah, it's another private party, but we are doing a show in December that IS open to the public. I will be sure to post that information as soon as it's confirmed, but I think it's on December 7th in LA somewhere.

Where did the "Holy Shit" video that was up earlier go? Man...I wanted to show that to someone and now I can't find it. Does anyone know where I can find it?

A little off topic, probably better reserved for the Sunday 10, but just wondering about any experiences you've had with Acupuncture and your feeling's about it?
I tried it for the first time last night, and I'm sold. Went from the feeling like the Energizer bunny on crack, to feeling like I was slipped a few valiums in a matter of minutes... awesome technique, that I'll definitely be using again...

10 bucks?! That's IT?! Oh... and a plane ticket. You guys need to hit me with some weekend events! I would love to see you guys play an acoustic set.
Hopefully someone catches some of it on video.

Hey Dave, I have been feeling a little bad lately for asking you about your religous preferences. Religon is a touchy subject to a lot of people, and is actually a very personal thing. Considering the fact that I think too many people don't keep it personal, and like to push thier own beliefs onto other people, it was very inappropriate for me to ask. Anyway I do enjoy the Sunday 10 Thanks

Hey, Dave. I just saw a clip from your Hal Leonard instructional guitar DVD and was wondering if that was filmed during your unfortunate drug relapse towards the end of your Chili Peppers run. Thanks.

Here here on the acupuncture. My kid has alopecia (hair loss from a funky immune system, so no known cause or cure) and we did that as much as I could afford to. (Note: It's kids with alopecia actually that get hairpieces from that Locks of Love place, so anyone cutting their hair, 10 inches is all they need.) Anyway, the actupunture...can you flippin believe it got her hair to start growing and has been ever since. She's going to be 15 soon, isn't bald anymore, isn't a loner anymore, and for Christmas -- yes, she's already hitting me up -- can you believe - - for MORE acupuncture again. Maybe it will get her eyebrows going. She says it's like she leaves her body. Trippy. Just wish insurance covered it, or I actually received that child support, ha ha. Anyway...actupuncture, seems a bit freaky, but YES, you know it - - bring the freak on, cause it WORKS. Had to throw my three cents in the blog for that one. And sometimes I wish I still lived in Los Angeles just so I could go check out your shows Dave. Bummer. But after living in New Mexico for some years, I can't go back for good to L.A. (just a visit on a blue moon to see friends and the fam.) Too crowded and rushed for me. Need my open desert land and mesas and manana. Dang....can you tell I just drank some cafe mocha? Chatty me! Ha Ha. Peace and a boom chica boom from the Land of Enchantment Dave. Keep doing the good things that you do. Glad the back is better, but yeah, acupuncture - - rah rah.

I don't think I like the sound of the whole leaving the body thing but brilliant that your kid is healed. I was planning on making enquiries to find an accupuncturist tomorrow, that has freaked me out.
Hmm. So shit became unholy did it? Yay.
I do wish you would get your ass t'other side of the pond Dave mate. Can't you ask Billy really nicely to show you his old gaff and come with you?! :)

Afternoon Dave. :-) Cool, brother, hope you have a kickin’ great time tomorrow with your boys. As well, I hope your foot is recovered enough that you can rock out without it causing you any difficulties. I know all the peeps fortunate enough to catch your set for the two great causes involved will have a wonderful time. Too bad I’m stuck up a tree at the ‘ends of the Earth.’ ;-) As gorgeous as my Island home is, I always appreciate the comment from one of my friends who said: “If you live here long enough, you really do start believing the Earth is flat.” LOL Ah, well, the RSSN concert in February is getting closer every day. ;-) In fact, I will be posting initial details soon about some multiple fandom events we’re setting up to coincide with the Feb. 19th concert. We’re working on a Vancouver pre-concert meet/dinner for fans of all the performers and bands involved with the “Rock Star Supernova” concert and a post-concert afterparty. Since the show itself was something of a polarizing experience for many fans, we’re taking this opportunity to plan some events that embrace everyone and get all the ‘true blue’ fans we can gather together to celebrate the music we love and experiences we’ve enjoyed. To that end, we will be calling on everyone associated with Dave/TPC/SRL, the Brightsiders/Randwagoners, Dilana’s crew, the Rossi Posse, Lukatics and “Rock Star Supernova” fans to join us for a gathering of fun and friendship that I’m sure will go on long enough to make even this Night Owl blurry eyed… LOL We’ll be welcoming guests from several of the States and probably many of the Western Provinces. And, of course, a primary consideration is to provide a safe, secure public venue where we know people can ‘party like rockstars’ but do so in a comfortable and safeguarded environment. One note: due to the venue being considered, these events will be open to fans who are nineteen years of age or older. So, look for a future post from me detailing contact information for those who may be interested in participating. :-) And now back to our regularly scheduled Dave-ness… ;-) Hope you have a great day and tons of fun tomorrow, dude, and peace to all the peeps.

Hope you have a great time man, cool to see you take the time to support some great causes. Wish I could be there but now I will just have to listen via cd.

Hi, I wish I could be in LA to get some of that. I would love to hear you guys play that sound live. I'm waiting to hear it in Toronto and I'm going home to London UK for xmas so I'll be plugging TPC over there in the hopes that you get a UK gig some of these days. Have a good one for a good cause ( aw, that came out tacky like but you know what I mean)
Posted by: Caroline69 at November 14, 2006 06:30 PM
...and my question for (whenever) is...how often do you have to reapply nail polish? Playing guitar must chip it up quite a bit. Another more rhetorical question is: when will microsoft stop telling me this site has supsicious content? I know it has, that is why I am here!!!

Hey Dave! I just need to ask something.
I just paid $50.00 to put an ad in my school's yearbook to advertise Spread Radio Live, to get more people knowing about it. (I also created a Spread Radio Street team. We Spread the word about your station.) But I was just wondering... is this ok with you? Is there any copyright issues I should know about?
Thanks!

Posted by: leroy at November 15, 2006 07:10 AM
I didn't feel like I'd left my body, when I did acupuncuture, but maybe that's because of my experience with drugs that do literally make you feel that way, so i was able to differentiate the feeling i received. I would equate it best with just feeling totally relaxed, totally relieved of stress, and very comfortable within myself... that is absolute fantastic about your daughter!!! I recommend anyone with issues involving stress, or cravings of any kind, give it a shot...

Hey Dave darlin',
Great that you play for charity -- it says a lot about your character. Hope your foot holds out! Maybe because "The Relaxing Channel" will be unplugged, you'll get to "relax" on a stool??
Can't wait to see TPC in Albany, NY in January!

Adam, as an enthusiastic supporter of all holistic medicine, I'm with you on acupuncture! I actually host an men's message therapy group here in my studio once a week. We've also been experimenting with low-frequency noise therapy as well. You should stop by if you're ever in the neighborhood.

Haha! Thanks, Candi! I wanted to do something really cool for it, and since my school is selling yearbook ads, I thought where else could there be a better place than a yearbook, to capture the attention of not only 1200 kids at the school (provided if everyone buys one) and perhaps elsewhere around the school community? The flyers are working well too! ;)
Dave has already sent me a free hoodie before. I won it off Spread Radio Live. :P It was awesome! :) All I need is an ok from Dave and I'm set! :)

Good Evening Mr. Navarro!!! Glad to hear you’re mending nicely and also hope you have a great time at your show. I have a couple of questions for the Sunday 10…
I recently heard about an upcoming interview on FOX television network with the infamous O.J. Simpson. He supposedly has written a book entitled “If I Did It, Here’s How It Happened” where in which he hypothetically describes how he would’ve committed the murders.
So “hypothetically” here’s what I’m thinking. If he is innocent, did he title the book for some perverse publicity? I know that even negative publicity is still just that...publicity. If he is guilty, it makes me wonder if he is blatantly mocking the legal system and/or the victims or is this perhaps how he chose to deal with the guilt?
I was kind of wondering what you would ”hypothetically” think about this. What is your opinion about such a book? To whom do you think the profits of a book like that should go to? Would something like this influence your decision to work with a network like FOX?
I know these aren’t your typical rock-n-roll questions, but I was just wondering what you thought.

^^^ I thought "Relaxing Channel" was cute too.
In reality, I bet last night's acoustic set was both mellow AND intense... That's one of the (many) things that you do best. In any case, I hope all you lucky folks had a nice time. (Nice pix, Wendy.)
I'm still bummed that one of my posts got lost in cyberspace the other day as the blog was being updated and all entries were closed. It was all about Thanksgiving, tattoos, and trust (no one), but alas, it was not meant to be seen.
Anyway, just wanted to say 'hi' to everyone and send good thoughts your way.
Peace,

Morning Dave. :-) I'm looking forward to hearing your take on the Dragonfly show. Looks like everyone had fun. Cool, cool. :-)
Wendy, thank you for the photos... You have a talent for recording images of Dave when he's looking very happy/relaxed and that's always heartwarming to see. :-) It's great to see the rest of the lads in action, too. :-) LOL at that one photo of Steve... It looks like Lukas Rossi won't be the only guy with 'dangerous tongue action' on the upcoming RSSN tour. ;-)
Hope you have a fabulous day, Dave. We had some wild storms here on the Isle and Mainland last night--haven't seen anything like it in years. Sending out hugs and "Peace, peeps" to all our crew. :-)
