CFR

Tonight is another edition of Camp Freddy Radio on Indie 103.1FM from 6pm-8pm PST. Click the link to listen live online. More than likely, I will have the webcast going during the show and you can access that by clicking the Webcast (when available) link on the right of this page.

In other Camp Freddy news, we will be playing a benefit show, "Indie 103.1's Wreck The Halls", on December 7th in Los Angeles at The Avalon. Also performing are Lily Allen and Drive A. Proceeds from this event will raise funds for MusiCares MAP, an organization which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment. For tickets go to the Indie site.

In case there is a Sunday 10.

Question:

Are you ever concerned that you may be receiving too much notoriety for your connection to the porn industry?

Posted by: Linda from San Diego at November 25, 2006 02:24 PM

Dave,

You really need to check with me before an event is scheduled - lol. Once again, I have to work Dec. 7 so can't make it. I could call in sick but they kinda frown on that since we are already short staffed (nurse). So have a great time to all who are able to go.

I had a dream about you last night, Dave. It was some sort of outdoor event and you walked up and I screamed OMG in that ear piercing scream that only dogs can hear. So I guess it's a good thing that I can't come Dec. 7 since you probably need your ears - lol

Posted by: KeriBelle at November 25, 2006 07:18 PM

dave u r a contradiction!!!
give it the big one about "internet this, internet music that"
when fans ask you a serious question about why urself and other alike who allready have fame and fortune dont go that route-when they allready have the money and fame-you take the piss...yeahy ur funny!

its allways nice when you talk 2 us like uneditucated pricks even tho we buy your music and line ur pocket.
thanks.

Posted by: paul at November 25, 2006 07:37 PM

They said (the crazy) last year on here Dave was mean, edit, etc and that he was not nice. Only the weak would be affected~ I was fucked up on crack b4 rehab in Arizona, home of Jenna Jameson. Did u know that Dave, 4 The Ten. Ty

Posted by: Maui Shores at November 25, 2006 07:44 PM

dave -im not only saying abou the panic channel im sayin about supernova aswell....you said it yourself!!!!
no record promotion...why do they do it!!!
that was my point!
maybe i dont get it -just wanted to ask, thats all.
and yes i do buy the records etc.
im only a fan not a no it all-just wanted to ask.

Posted by: paul at November 25, 2006 07:55 PM

Oh, ps. And about the above when on crack in Arizona I never used the N. word~

Posted by: Maui Shores at November 25, 2006 07:58 PM

this is good comunication!!!
thanks for your time dave-i do apprecate it.
thanks for explaining,i know you have a deal now i just wanted your opinion on how big bands should abandon the "pop music "industry and make a standtheres so many hard rock bands with hardcore fans thatcan make astand ie...GNR chinese democracy...

Posted by: paul at November 25, 2006 08:02 PM

ha ,it is just too good, maybe iv pushed buttons and pissed you off but maybe its been heard by the big wigs.
nothing can change that u can play guitar awesome dave ,awesome sense of humour and i love the banter

Posted by: paul at November 25, 2006 08:10 PM

Seems to me that the record label dropped the ball on RSSN. They had the perfect plum sitting right there with the show as a catapult, and they didn't take advantage of the momentum that the show created. Sad, really. Business-wise it was a stupid move. I think that the major problem is (& this is only my opinion), that they are too busy promoting tabloid popular people (i.e. Kevin Federline & Paris Hilton) instead of true talent.
I may not personally like the sound of RSSN with Lucas, but there is no denying that they are a talented band. Maybe they should throw up on stage or hang out with Britney Spears so they can get some air time.

Dave, I have just finished watching the first three seasons of Nip/Tuck. I had to see what the hype was about....NOW I KNOW!

Just curious...who do you identify more closely with, Sean McNamara or Christian Troy?

Posted by: michelle at November 25, 2006 09:28 PM

Evening Dave. :-) Cool about the upcoming CFR show for yet another wonderful cause. Good stuff. :-) Hope you enjoyed the holidays. Peace to you and all our peeps. Hope everyone has a safe, lovely night. :-)

Posted by: Sanlin at November 25, 2006 09:45 PM

My guess would be Dave identifies more with Jack Bauer, because he has many appointments within a 24 hour time frame! lol

Posted by: Linda from San Diego at November 25, 2006 09:45 PM

Dave, I was gonna go into this long thing about how listening to you on CFR just confirms what your book said about you being hard on people who try to challenge you, or who seem less articulate, but then I thought, hell, that's who you are, and who the hell am I to say that's right or wrong? It's your show and your personality, and I'm not your therapist, just a voyeur in this whole process. Live and let live, as a wise person once said. Out...

P.S. For the Sunday 10, what's your favorite "cry in your beer" song? A few from me:

November Rain

Layla (especially the coda)

The Wind Cries Mary

Midnight Train to Georgia (yeah, I'm serious)

Hey Dave whats wrong with the chatroom, no one can get in at all. Just wondering if you knew. Cant wait for the CF gig. Have an awsome day.

Posted by: heynow at November 26, 2006 08:49 AM

Dave,

You played with Jane's when they recorded "Don't Call Me Nigger" - how'd you pull it off without Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson getting all up in your hizzy?

Michael

Posted by: Michael Richards at November 26, 2006 09:03 AM

Dave

what do you mean when you say "something new and fresh" when refering to Supernova or any of the bands you promote on SRL - like KHZ, for instance? I mean, they can be CHRONOLOGICALLY new but aren´t they playing the same old formulaic rock and roll cliches in a new package?

sure it can be FUN - but original? I don´t think so.

peace
Justin.

Posted by: Justin at November 26, 2006 10:05 AM

Dave,

you think you could ever get TOM MORELLO or Chris Cornell to jam with CAMP FREDDY? Are you friends with the audioslave guys? What tune would you like to play with them?

thank you for your time.

all da best
K.

Dave, by the way,I totally agree with you on "Lady Vengeance." I've been a fan of that director for a while, he's awesome, and the movie was way too cool for school. That's all, I'm out...have a great Sunday, and hope you can answer my Sunday 10. Fingers are crossed...

In case of a Sunday 10, there's something that I wonder ...

I've heard and seen ads that announce the band as 'Dave Navarro and The Panic Channel,' or something to that effect. Does that ever bother you?

Anywho, hope you had a great weekend and an even better Thanksgiving.
