Welcome To Bangkok

1. Hey Dave, can you suggest any sexual positions for when you have a bad back?

I'm thinking The Reverse Cowgirl might do the trick.

2. Is Teresa Noreen as hot as she is in her PICS in 'real life'?

I would say she is even hotter, because she has a really sweet personality. When you combine crazy hot with sweetness, you get a devastating combination that will just melt your heart and keep you wide awake for months, just staring at the ceiling... Tossing and turning, not eating, weeping uncontrollably, writing poetry... I mean, you know... So I hear...

3. You seem like you are really good around kids, why do you say you don't want them?

I love kids but at this stage in my life, I couldn't even take care of a cat, let alone and actual human being. You never know, though... I could one day find the right partner, settle down, quit the business and raise a twerp or two.

4. Are you ever going to shave off your beard? Don't get me wrong, I love the facial hair but I know you have had it for years.

Yeah, that ties in with the whole disappearing plan one day. Let's say I DO have kids and want to settle down and leave the business... Or, just open that Bait & Tackle shop I always talk about. I'm thinking I could slide around fairly undetected if I shaved and maybe lost the tattoos on the hands.

5. Will you and the guys be doing Podcasts while on the road in January?

Of course we will. Staying connected to everyone online is one of the newer aspects of touring that we love so much.

6. Would you ever consider turning your "CE" tattoo into something else?

Hell no! She is still my closest friend and being married to her were some of the greatest years of my life. I stand behind it. I have plenty of tattoos that are just there for design. No way would I change something that actually means a great deal to me.

7. How do you deal with cameras and shit in your face when you just wanna go out and do what you want without being bothered?

Honestly, once in a while it's a pain but for the most part, living in LA makes it easy. Of course if you go to an event or a party or a show, it's to be expected, but not so much in the day to day life. This is a city where it's not uncommon to see Al Pacino walking down the street so people are pretty ambivalent when it comes to random recognizable people. Now when my divorce was fresh, that was another story as they were swarming us like flies. I wanted to fucking strangle those guys and came close on a few occasions. Too close on one particular day. Anyway, things have settled down and it is pretty back to normal. I can't imagine what the A List types like Brad Pitt go through. Did you ever see that Bjork video? That was awesome!

So does that mean that you will never have kids unless you quit the business? Like you can't have it both ways. You just wouldn't want to raise kids in your current lifestyle?

Do you like The Tragically Hip?
Their new CD "World Container" just came out.

Okay so I am bored at work and chilling listening SRL (NSFW however alone in the office)...

So anywho
This is prolly a stupid question, but my profession is Interior Decorating (yeah should be finishing up a decorating project but had a brain blog)...I have seen your home on MTV cribs, etc. and have you made any "decorating" changes to it lately? You can give us your own verion of "Navarro's Crib". Still feel inspired by death/morgue steel?

Hope you are feeling better...back to work.

Hi Mr Dave,
You have got to be one of the most intriguing famous people ever...I've been listening to you for years, reading your site, watching you on tv... you always manage to convey an aura of 'everyman-ness' (not a word, I know - but it fits, doesn't it?!) about you. It's a wonderful and refreshing thing - there is nothing worse than a celeb with their head so far up their own arse that they don't know when they last saw daylight...but you seem completely different. It's a really great thing! :) Also, you exhibit incredible class when discussing your relationship with Carmen - you're a good man, dude. :)

Another CD project I wonder if you would consider....have you heard the KIDZBOP stuff? How about a KIDZ that does Rock or Rap??? Can you imagine some of the songs out there - cleaned up for the kids.... could be good...

Love to you!

Thanks for sharing your life and thoughts with your fans. It's really great to be able to relate to you as another human being and not just a showbiz icon.

It truly makes all the difference to a fan. You put it all out there, good, bad, ugly, indifferent, irrelevant, funny, stupid, intelligent, sexy, not sexy...

Most people put up walls to protect themselves...you open yourself to millions of people. It's a rare thing.

And this ain't no tongue up your ass...I figure if you can put yourself out there like that, I can muster the courage to say something I really mean and give a little back.

Thanks Dave.

Love Ya,
D

Afternoon Dave. :-) I hope your back is starting to treat you better, today. I'm laughing at your response to question number 2. *heh* *stops laughing when starts thinking about own response to certain fellows... darn, must be a 'Gemini' trait* Such emotional, warm n' fuzzy, touchy-feely critters we are... when not reigning down destruction on civilization as we know it and kicking butts, never mind 'taking names.' LOL One of my friends sent me something on all the different signs, and part of the write up for Gemini was: "lover not a fighter, but will still punch your lights out." ;-P I can appreciate your sentiments about wee ones, too. I'm perfectly happy as 'Auntie Sandra.' I do have a few sad plants that desperately wave their fronds at me when they're in need of water. LOL And one of the largest and friendliest grizzly teddy bears on the planet. LOL That's about my speed. Can't imagine doing the 'husband, 2.3 kids and .3 dogs/cats per kid' thing. But, a person never does know. God does love that 'cosmic chuckle factor,' after all. As clever as you are with disguises like your Clark Kent "hey, where did Dave go--that's just spooky!" hats, I don't know if you could ever go completely 'undetected,' man. I do enjoy fishing, though. So, either way, it's all good. LOL I'm happy if the tabloids mostly leave you alone. I don't know how megastars cope either, having to employ bodyguards, high tech security and all those things. I guess, like anything else, however your life is, that's what you get used to... No way around it, there are just too many strange/kooky people in this world--dangerous ones, not harmless and sweet characters. And it isn't just 'stars' that have to deal with them. I've had a lot of regular friends that have had to change their lives because of stalkers and things like that.

Of all the things that I have come to learn about you in the past year or so I never thoght I would hear you say this.

"I love kids but at this stage in my life, I couldn't even take care of a cat, let alone and actual human being. You never know, though... I could one day find the right partner, settle down, quit the business and raise a twerp or two."

why do you feel like you have to give up your career and settle down to have children? I would think that a comprimise of sorts would be the route to go. Though I too am getting older and am so focused on my pursuing education that I doubt I will ever have children either. Than again, what you doing next Thurs, ha! just kidding.

have a great night

When you are in the mood to answer some questions again, my question is:

1. Have you ever contacted the Holocaust survivor, and or her family, since you last saw them at the airport?

Posted by: Linda from San Diego at October 24, 2006 08:11 PM

hi linda. how you doing

Posted by: Season at October 24, 2006 08:28 PM

Good Evening Dave ~

Love the Q & A!

Hope you're on the mend. In your honor, I ran an extra mile (for a total of 6 in 55 min.), followed by a large black coffee and a Newport on the drive home, I'm hopeless. Like you, I'll be 40 in 2007. There was a time I didn't think I'd make it past 25, that's when I got sober. How do you feel about hitting 40 in June? Do you feel as if life began once you got clean and sober? (Maybe that's in your book, which I intend to read once I'm through with textbooks!).

As for the kids . . . . I have three - planned on two, got twins. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but anyone in the world who thinks, that "one can adjust his/her lifestyle" or "they won't change who I am" is completely delusional. If you are content with the life you have - it's best to keep on keepin' on.

Best ~

H.

Hello "angel"-that was a cool crossfade on SRL last night. Thanx for answering the questions. Dave, I have two sons and I would HIGHLY recommend being a parent. It's the toughest job you will ever love. To teach and shape the mind of a part of your heart is nothing like you will ever know. Hope you get to experience someday.... I am sure a lil one would appreciate your heart and your sense of humor:)

Hope your back is healing.

Hope your back is feeling better. Back pain sucks.

Dave - you can shave your facial hair and get rid of your hand tats but people will still recognize you! You have a very unique look and there's just not that many men in the world who are physical perfection. Maybe if you gained a hundred pounds........nah, still wouldn't work. Hopefully folks who hang out at the bait & tackle will let you be, if it comes to that.

The fact that you're sentimental about your CE tattoo makes me want to feed you milk and cookies and maybe do your laundry. I mean that in a good way.

I feel for ya though, have known quite a few with back problems some severe. If ya get bored you can always catch me on myspace and get ahold of me. hey dave and family

dave, havent been here for for a day or 3, and i read the sunday ten, and saw the question and answer about meening of certain tats you have. i think that its awesome that with all the tats you have you still know the personal meening of each and everyone of them. and i think its awesome that you know the history/meening of a design before you get it inked on you. i think its well thought out. so it leads me to a question, one day when you die, why not get your skin and all its artwork framed?! hanging on a wall in an art museum? maybe?

Linda,

The reason you see a question mark and everyone else sees something else, is because Jesus is trying to tell you something. Its a personal message to you to stop wasting your life by lusting over a man half your age. Its sinful.

Hey Dave!

Love your Q & A bits. It's nice to see someone who's willing to open up like you do. As for the kids, I used to think that there was no way in hell that I could slow down long enough to have them, let alone raise them. When it's time, you'll definitely know! I now have two, 6 yrs apart because Mama here doesn't have a patient bone in her body to have two close together in age. You adjust some, give up some, but I'm still as busy, having fun and going strong as ever! By the way, reverse cowgirl is more like work than fun. There's many more possibilities out there, and this is from someone who injured her back 3 yrs ago at work (nursing at a veteran's hospital). The fun is in finding the right position!
