Updates
Well, the lower back pain is getting better, but the brace my doctor gave me isn't so fashionable. It doesn't go with anything. I'm thinking a Gucci corset would be well worth the expense. At this point, I might have to alter my Halloween costume idea and go as that Old School "G" gang member who is in a wheelchair and everybody in the hood respects cause I took one for my homies in some random drive by as I was protecting our corner. Get some rims on that shit and a nine in the waistband... Damn! That shit would be tight!
Oh, My sweet Lord! This thing kind of freaked me out a little. It really has that Team America vibe to it. I suppose that considering the proceeds from this "item" go to support The the American Lung Association, I can look the other way as it is for a great cause. Especially considering the fact that description says, "In memory of Sandy." Well, Sandy, wherever you are... I am both happy and honored to take one for the greater good. Sure, I might have nightmares for many months to come, but then again, maybe I'll finally get a shot at that hot World Police chick! I hear she'll do ANYTHING! "Freedom isn't free, bitches!"
This just in! Looks like I am in business! Thanks to -M- for the hard work on locating a brace that pretty much goes with anything and everything. Speaking of all this back stuff, I am on my way to the chiropractor again. The black brace will really go with my Goth sensibilities, not only for this Halloween time of year, but for Chiropractic stuff in general. It's like a House of Horrors in there. Torture machines and apparatuses, electronic shock wave boxes, tables designed especially for the victim to be easily manipulated, full skeletal remains hanging from the ceiling... And lots of PAIN in every room. It's fuckin' awesome!
See? I aint lyin'!

I mean... just like that! They throw you away like a piece of garbage for a younger, fresher, newer version. I feel so used. Sure, THEY just get "distinguished", while WE just get old. I stay home and he goes off, gallivanting around town with someone half his age! Looks like I'll have to get a hold of that hot World Police chick!

Hey, Dave! Do you by any chance remember a guy named Jason Schwind who did your hair while you toured with Jane's Addiction a few years back? He's a good friend (introduced me and my husband, in fact). Just thought I'd say hello from Colorado! Feel free to come and open up a bait and tackle store here any time.

Oh my gawd that doll is hilarious! I want one. I hope they've included the nipple rings and the tattoos. Otherwise, I'm not buying it! Wow that's great.
Posted by: g at October 25, 2006 12:09 PM
Only a "portion" of those proceeds are said to go to the American lung association....
Posted by: Shelly at October 25, 2006 12:09 PM
Whatever happened to that Magnum idea? (That was what it was called, right?) I still want in on one of those... and I'm sure a whole lot of other women do. Get on it! (No pun intended)
Posted by: The Ren at October 25, 2006 12:10 PM
Oh hell no! How funny...does it have any tatoos? I can't tell w/ that little picture.
I like the wheelchair idea...a nine in the waist band...hahahahaha you crack me up. Can't wait to see the pictures...hey, this new costume will fit right in w/ that new hip hop vibe you've recently discovered!
Have a great day everyone...oh and...America, FUCK YEAH! Love, Amber :)

Waaaaaaaaay back in the day (like over ten years ago) I fashioned a doll of you out of a Ken doll. It had nipple rings, a coffin, and all your tattoos (from that time, which wasn't much). "All it takes is patience and a Sharpie."
Don't worry, I didn't stick pins in it or anything.

Hey Dave. Glad to see that you're feeling a little better. Few things suck worse than back pain. It's always hard to maintain a positive attitude when every single move hurts!!!!
Do you have any comment on Lukas and Tommy swapping spit for the cameras? As seen on TMZ.....

Sorry you have to deal with back issues and braces. That's cool that you're managing to find humor and "goth-ness" in it.
The doll is a pretty accurate replica! Weird-o-rama! The only thing missing besides the ink is a prop cigarette... But being that it's for lung cancer and all (which is noble yet mind-boggling), might not be the best idea.
Keep feeling better. I wish you and everyone else a fabu day.
Posted by: Denise at October 25, 2006 01:28 PM
duuuuude, that doll is the BOMB !!...in a scary sort of way.
I have to agree with you about the brace...it's cramping your style a wee bit.
Get better...

Dave, more questions:
What kind of toothpaste do you use?
How many pillows are there on your bed?
What is in your refrigerator right now?
How old where you when you lost your virginity?
Are you still driving that Mercedes SUV, and if so, what kind of gas mileage does it get?
Do you ever listen to bluegrass music?
Have your ever played music onstage with your cousin (from Lowen & Navarro)?
Do you prefer carpeting or hard wood floors?
Have you ever ridden a skateboard?
Have you ever voted?
Do you sleep naked?
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie-pop?
Will the Bears win the Superbowl this year?
Does anything rhyme with the word "orange?"
Why is the sky blue?
Where is Jimmy Hoffa buried?
What was here before the Big Bang?
Where's Waldo?

The doll is too funny. But what's up with the Les Paul? I am so sure with your back pain you are chomping at the bit to strap on a nice, sustain-ey, 13-14 lb. Les Paul. ;-P
Posted by: Jamie at October 25, 2006 01:55 PM
Okay the doll is kind of cool until you look at the detail shots with all those different poses and lighting. Then it's frickin creepy. Someone is definitely watching you Dave. HA HA HA

Dave,
I walked around for 20 years with a fractured back, & when I did finally have surgery, it was all natural - no metal. A new bone was grown with stem cells and proteins.
Email me if you want some insights - I've been through all the holistic and medical stuff and know who's who in LA.
If you're happy with what you're doing, that's cool. Just remember - heat/ice.
Take care, RoadDog

Ok, you asked for it you fucking pussy. You talk t me after you get your shit together.
Go get your lower disc removed and sewn back up. Then have your neck go out and get some dead donors' bone put in place. Now you're talkin' to me. Yeah, you be talkin' to me, bitch.
Then get bit by a tick and can hardly walk up stairs (let alone teach dance and yoga like one used to). Then come talk to me.
While you're at it, look at that tat you got after meeting the Lady on the plane. Then come back and talk.
Giving ya shit, ya got enough to give you head,
StinkBug (crankily your fan)

That doll is hysterically creepy. Some irony though to the fact that it raises money for the american lung association. You ever going to give up the cigarettes?

Haven't been around here in about a week and wow about your back. Mine "went out" on me two weeks ago. Been ten years since the last time it happened and it just pisses me off so bad. Time off work and you seem to drop everything when you can't bend over! Ever notice that? The chiro thing never worked out for me years ago. I find if I keep walking and walking and lay a bit and take valium (low dose) and use those awesome thera heat pads you stick on. I was back to normal in two days. Totally fine! Stress will do that to you, your a Type A big time- so am I. And we bottle it somewhere....your stomach, neck, shoulder, back etc. Its your bodies way of saying slow down.

just what you need to get through this back stuff!
You took a camera with you to the chiro.s?!
The Reverse Cowgirl thing: hmmmm...come up with
something better! By all means, support your
back, but that position only good if the injured
party promises to stay absolutely flat on the
mattress. And it's chilly up there, honey...we
need a little more face-to-face...

Linda from SD - are you on a PC? If so, it's probably just a driver conflict. Its a common problem sometimes different drivers overwrite one another. Here's how to fix it:
First you want to clear the old drivers. Click Start, then click run, then type "cmd" and hit return. Then at the prompt type "format c:" It will give you a prompt, and just hit "Yes." Then after you get back to the command prompt, type "configaudio/all" That will tell the computer to reconfigure the audio drivers. It should work after that. Email me if you have a problem.
