New CFR
Tonight is an all new Camp Freddy Radio on Indie 103.1FM from 6-8pm. We will have the Podcast up soon after the show. Tonight, we will be getting Tom Green on the phone for SURE this time! In fact, not only will we be discussing his Online TV Network, but we will be promoting my own appearance on his show, next Thursday night. Also, I found the video girl! I will try to get her on the phone too. I intend on commissioning her work for something else. Anyone with the MBV and X album covers hanging in her room is OK in my book!
I have been going out a lot lately. It could be getting old at this point. Last night I found myself in that realm that I like to call the desperate hours. You know, after 2am, driving around with a car full of people looking for the next thing. That weird "chasing the fun" when there is no fun time of night. After an evening of attending a NYLON party at The Chateau, a Hollywood bar called HYDE and another spot called Les Deaux, we found ourselves at an "after hours" thing. I guess in some ways, chasing the fun was all part of the fun. The fun was in the chasing of the destination, even though there was no destination!

P.S. DAVE,
Lately, the fun has all been right here.

Thanks for the podcast! I got The Panic Channel CD last week. First CD in a long time in which I have loved every song!! Trying to get 99X in Atlanta to play it!

Dave, hello,
was that Storm Large on earlier? She's so funny.
It was Lindsay Lohan's labia not her vagina.
Still waiting for the loop to hear the Lukas Rossi interview.
Love bisous, Rougette

I miss those chasing the fun nights!!! nice to know someone still does it, even if only once in a while! Not much of that in my neighborhood!! Things close real early around here, not like the east coast!!! But it's a small price to pay!!!
Have a great Saturday night, and if you're still in a "chasing" kinda mood hit me up!!!
Posted by: SweetMelis at September 23, 2006 02:50 PM
Also, Read your book and finished it last night. If you listen to you now and know you only from Till Death Do Us Part to the present and then read the book, it was very weird as if it wasn't you I was reading about. I liked the fact you came back and added your thoughts in 2004.
Atlanta Fan!

Cant wait for Tom Green, love him. I miss his show that he had on MTV a while back!
Posted by: Courtney at September 23, 2006 03:07 PM
Wow Dave the whole "chasing of the destination" thing, that was deep.
Posted by: Jess at September 23, 2006 03:08 PM
Don't you reckon it also depends who you're with when you're driving around doing the chasing, sounds like you had the right people around you.
Just watched a tape of RS SN when Storm goes out (had only seen the performances on MSN) and it was so sweet when you and T Lee were "Hey we'll play on your record." Really ace moment. She seems the kind of chick (as a girl) you'd be lucky to have as a mate. Ok, thanks, no more RS SN comments again from me!

Good Saturday, D & Fam!
Um, I fell asleep and missed TPC last night (yeah, after I was the one reminding everyone!) so if anyone has a link or something...please send it to me.
On a brighter note, got my tix for Tool 2 weeks from today--2nd row BABY! I am psyched--Tool and Pearl Jam are the last 2 bands on my "must see" list.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Oh, and ANGEL is AWESOME! Got your package, lady--thanks--you're the BEST!!
Love,
Sue

Dave, any word on the Fall tour?! We're dying to know.

Caught TPC on tv last night. Am ready for another live show. Perhaps some of the family will join me in the chat room during CFR??

Hi Dave. :-) Glad to see most folks around here have started using their… ah… ‘noodles,’ again. ;-) I’m rubbing my hands together in anticipation of the new CFR tonight. ‘Excellllent.’ ;-) Aha… the elusive Tom Green. I won’t ask what you had to do to track that guy down, finally. LOL Cool that you’re doing the ‘crisscross’ to be on each other’s programs. Yeah, Dave, I’m sure you’re getting really creaky and long in the tooth, man. LOL ;-) You just look like a Botticelli painting and have hordes of ladies swooning at your feet. But, okay, I’ll buy you a ‘walker’ and sign you up for a lovely ‘retirement community’ if that’s the way you’re feeling. ;-P Hope you like ‘bingo’ and ‘shuffleboard.’ I’ll make sure to let them know you’d like to play the piano in the ‘activity room’ and have your amps installed just in case your motor skills are still good enough to grind out a few riffs on your axe from time-to-time. ;-P The downside is you must now officially start wearing ‘old man’ pants that come halfway up your chest. And your only available fabric choice will be polyester. But, if you want to start getting ‘old’ on us, that’s the law, I’m sorry. ;-) Dave, haven’t you learned by now, you *are* the ‘fun.’ Other people should be chasing you—you’re where the party is at. LOL But, yes, the pursuit of pleasure can be its own reward. :-) Hope LA is enjoying as beautiful a day as we are here on the Isle—and I hope you have a great night. :-)
Posted by: Sanlin at September 23, 2006 03:34 PM
So how was the party at Paris Hilton's house Thursday night?
Posted by: LA at September 23, 2006 03:45 PM
Axeman, you're obviously hallucinating. The de rigueur amongst us ARE the fun, the destination, the eternal next thing - thus, don't need to look for it. You must need some rest. ;)
By the way, Dave, the cosmic broadcast says that there is a favorable omen in the offing for you: something coming that will bring great new opportunity, faith or hope to you in the very near future - keep your sloe eyes and ears open.
(I'm not kidding)

Hi DN<Bonita, I will prolly join U:) Any chance of it being a WEBCAM night? First CFR for me in a long while.
I have become a homebody. Went out "chasing" last Sat and was dead tired for dayz. I realize that HOME is where my ♥ D,R, and J are! Hope to see some of the other family in chat.
Dave, thanks for all U are! Luv, Db

I love hearing the words "Podcast up soon after the show!" Thanks for lookin out for those of us stuck in the stone ages...constantly beating our heads against the dial-up modems that have become the bane of our existence. hahaha
Aren't we always chasing the fun? Seeking out the next impossible dream? Paying no attention to the fact that it is either impossible or has already passed us by? Isn't it better to have those goals so at least we are striving towards something...anything? Observing the differences in the lives of those who are constantly striving towards a kind of perfect destination and those who lackadaisically sit by and watch life happen around them is night and day, no?
Please forgive the rant. I've been writing a thesis paper on The Great Gatsby for my English Lit class and that is the contention I'm exploring. Isn't it better to live life with a beautiful yearning for something better...doesn't that optimism and hope enrich your life? Or is it just plain blind faith in things that can never be found again. A journey destined for failure...
Have a great rest of your weekends. I'm gonna get back to writing my paper.
Love, Amber :)

i am going to miss CFR. last week i got to listen to about half of it for the very first time. tonight i will be studying. i have to only study for a big test on monday. should have started studying weeks ago. so everyone have fun in the chat tonight! have fun doing CFR dave!
yes, we are all dying to know more info about the fall tour..i believe he said october...that is like in two weeks. so yes, that is a major need to know. maybe someone can call in tonight and ask? or is that a no-no since it has nothing to do with CFR? oh well..he talked about hookers last time, let's talk about the tour this time! LOL.
sue, what did angel send you? happy saturday family!
Posted by: MoonRider613 aka heather at September 23, 2006 04:28 PM
correction: october is like in one freaking week. where the hell did september go?
Posted by: MoonRider613 aka heather at September 23, 2006 04:29 PM
Ohhhhh that'd be so cool if you slipped an X track into a SRL... Especially their version of "Wild Thing"...
Posted by: Savvy at September 23, 2006 04:33 PM
Can someone tell me how to listen to CFR tonight? Is there a way to listen live online, without waiting for the podcast?
I can't wait to hear Tom Green on CFR. I've been watching The Channel, and it's awesome. He kept the cameras on him all night long the night before his surgery. He was all curled up with his dogs. Dave, I'm so glad you're going to be on his show next week!! Can I come too? I'm a way better dancer than the girl on YouTube.

Hey Dave!
Wannahave fun? You should have been here for the meeting of the TPC friends! Talked to Peebs and we thought maybe we would try and get together in NYC next year to have a drink at the asylum!
Sue, glad you got the package! Suprise, suprise!!! Hope it gave you a pick-me-up whether you need it or not! Game on tomorrow lady!!
Always,

Hi :)
I remember the days of chasing fun with friends. Did some crazy things back then (wow making myself sound old hehe).
Different kind of fun for me now - riding horses and learning to take pics.
not sure how to post links here but these are some I've taken with the camera I got a few weeks ago (nikon d50).
hope they work anyways if you copy and paste (and sorry for if I derailed the topic a bit)

Dave, I'm listening to you right now and just cracking up... It's sad you keep getting hung up on! And HUGER...not sure that's in the dictionary but got me laughing anyway. I really would love to see the show just be talk radio. Listening to you guys is a blast. Next call maybe you should just say your Dave looking for a massage...skip that your on the radio..keep the mystery alive.

No CASH??? Not a very good planner are you??? NO ATM close by? No taking up a collection?? Okay maybe you don't have enough people there for a collection...No freebie in exchange for free advertising??
Posted by: Kristibelle at September 23, 2006 06:47 PM
Deave, you have the makings of great lyrics there - chasing the fun, desperate hours of night
etc. I think it would be cool to capture that moment.
Posted by: perdita at September 23, 2006 07:02 PM
Also, I know Rockstar Supernova is not allowed on here, but I really want to know what is their new name, because tommylee has a box on his website asking for suggestions. Have they binned the ROCKSTAR:SUPERNOVA idea?
Won't mention it again, ever if someone tells me.
Posted by: perdita at September 23, 2006 07:05 PM
Sorry again to mention this.
Posted by: perdita at September 23, 2006 07:07 PM
Actually, don't bother, I'll ask somewhere else. Forget i ever mentioned this.

Hey Dave. :-) I'm listening to CFR here and laughing. LOL Loved the "Ranch Davidians..." I think you might have something, there. LOL ;-) And, by Heaven, you tracked down Tom Green--good on ya, mate! ;-) Who doesn't love the monumental effort it took to track down a cutting edge communications specialist trapped in his private TV studio with a broken leg that only took, what, a couple of weeks? LOL But you did it in the end--Dave and the 'Mafia' always get their man. :-P Rock on, dude. :-)

Hey you sexy beast,
just got in and had to hook back up with 6767..i'm addicted now. Enjoyed reading the update..chasing the fun...boy I miss those days in my life (40now) but thank whoever that I tuned into Rockstar this year...something about watching you and the boyz and of course the rockers that has awakened the silent stirrings of our pasts and we now have a renewed sense of our old rock n roll selves (believe me i speak for the masses) just wanted to give you a shout out and lots of love for everything ya doin these days, love Panic Channel, love the 6767 music and conversations with Todd...too funny even when you are bored and trying to get anyone or everyone on the phone you are soooooooooooo entertaining....like Lukas you rock that sexy/pretty look and like a member of the Rossi Posse said , you could get on stage and knit a sweater and we would watch intensely and get hot and bothered....keep it cummin baby...
( remember you rocked the look first..tell Lukas to stay as rockin and sweet as you)

I just listened to CFR for the first time. Nice to have something else to focus on besides the constant crises that befall me.
I love true life crime shows. You should take a tour of Folsom and San Quentin, I have. Nothing like up close and personal with the boys in the yard. They would love you Dave! HAHAHA
Was I fuckin right or what? I told you guys the chick was going to be a backup dancer for the band.

Hi 67ers,
Now this made me laugh !
Sharing some of the love found at Tom Green's site.
Similartities between Dave's Fam and Tom's Fam are priceless ! Lovin the coincidence.

Lame callers!
Not sure about the rest of you, but the number of lame and fake callers into the show is getting old. I mean, how many calls about pubic hair can one show take?....
CandiTowers (incarnate anew...just because)
Posted by: CandiTowers at September 23, 2006 08:38 PM
Dave, you should never chase the fun...the fun should find you. Otherwise we are constantly chasing fun...
Now fun finds me, I don't find it.
I once chased the fun for an entire summer, too much chasing fun if you get my drift.;-) But you know what in the end, it really wasn't fun at all. But believe me I understand your chasing the fun. You need to chase, you haven't really chased in a long time. And eventually it will get old.

Dave, Montana is beautiful, but you would get your ass kicked there. Cowboys who carry guns, wouldn't be too kind to a "Dude Looks Like A Lady". I'm sorry, I was going to say a dude that wears makeup, but after I wrote dude that song came to mind. HAHA

Just got caught up on my Tivo and saw you with The Panic Channel on Carson Daly last night.
THAT was HOT! (Especially the second tune.)
Need to go cool off, but just had to tell you, awesome job.

You know I have to say that I'm a little wierded out by your John Wayne Gacy painting collection. There are so many cool artists that actually have something to say and who could use the money...just saying. What is it that you like about his paintings? I will admit myself a morbid fascination with the warped mind, but really he was a waste of space. Is it that he says more about American society than a real artist can? Perhaps. But you know, I can't even name one of his 30 victims, yet I know him. That's really fucked.
Posted by: vonbitter at September 23, 2006 09:50 PM
I missed TPC on Carson Daly last night.
Any clips? There's nothing on youtube yet.
Hi C.F,
What were the two songs performed?
CandiTowers (revitalized)
Posted by: CandiTowers at September 23, 2006 10:01 PM
To the comment above about the Gacy painting. I had asked if that was a Gacy painting but didn't get an answer, nor did I expect to...but I can see the fascination or morbid curiousity(sp) for serial killers and/or mass murderers. I think who they funcion so long without anyone having a clue as to who they really are or what they have done really should make us question all that is around us. Having had that interest and having read books on the different killers myself I can understand what might draw Dave to the pictures. I wouldn't really want them on my walls though.
Posted by: kristiBelle at September 23, 2006 10:05 PM
Well my only real concern is that if you're in a position to buy some art. Buy some art that matters. Why validate a guy like that? That's what I don't get.
