Amazing choice. Go Lukas!!!!

Dave:

Could the RS:SN House Band actually become an entity of their own with say, Magni joining them? So many people have been mentioning this when they all felt Magni had a greater connection with them. Just wondering your thoughts on this.

Rock on Dave...

Wow I'm glad I didn't spend the money and arrange child care to see Lucas and the OomplaLoompa's in concert. I was all set to get reservations in Portland and everything. I'm just going to keep playing my old Metallica and Crue cd's. I guess I'm getting too old to see the draw of Lukas, but I know the younger rockers are all about him. Probably is a good move for SN to get someone to stimulate the little teen girl audience. To hell with that scary little leprechaun. I'm off to download The Panic Channel cd from WalMart. I recorded all the shows on my Dish, and watch them for the performances anyway. I can always fast forward through Lukas. I forgot all about "Starman" until Magni dialed it up again!

Well , it is all over.

But we are offended !
Did you ever check the spaces ?
We who where promoting our people ?

Worked hard , and got little visits ?
Was it just a joke , the spaces ?

Some of the spaces are pretty good and well done .
They should get a little mention and you might tell Supernova to have a look.

But thanks anyway for a great Rockstar show.

I was always for Dilana but would have been satisfied with Toby winning but skunk boy can’t sing worth shit... Now that T-Lee has been ordered to change the bands name by a judge, they should go ahead and change it to SuperDud.

The only thing T-Lee and the others proved is they have no balls to have a woman lead singer.. The big bang they had hoped for will just
fizzle out into obscurity

Posted by: jeff at September 13, 2006 02:19 PM

I am so proud of Lukas. If people don't like him because of his voice, download some of his music, it sounds totally different.

Posted by: Angie at September 13, 2006 02:19 PM

well, i guess i dont need to watch the show tonight then. ive seen lukas live here in toronto and i would not pay good money for that.

Posted by: estrojenn at September 13, 2006 02:19 PM

Just cancelled my Supernova tickets for New Years, phone LV if you want them. I heard the Supernova Tracks and thought they were poor, but might be ok with a good singer, now there is not a chance of that.

Sum Up, Tommy. Crue was cool in 1989, now lead singer is a fat drunk, group is a joke except for Nikki. Gilby, a replacement for Izzy in that group that used to Exist GNR. He was just part of the dog and pony show Axl turned GNR into with horns and backup singers.

Jason, vanished since running from Metallica. Metallica goes on, a bit of a joke now, but way less of a joke than Supernova will be with a lead singer with no range who should be back at Hooters burning wings.

Crap. Now do I get tickets and leave after the house band and Panic Channel?? My ears will bleed if I sit through Lukas without a remote to flip to another channel or mute!

Posted by: tracy at September 13, 2006 02:28 PM

Lukas would have been my last choice, but then again music is a very subjective thing. if the band felt he was right for them then i guess he was the right choice. although i definitely would have gone with toby :-) that is one sexy guy.
all that's left for me is to thank the show for re-sparking my passion for rock and inspiring me to do cool things of my own. sometimes we get stuck in the routine of life and forget what it feels like to be passionate about something and do it from the heart, and even though it was a tv show it did get me thinking...
storm was actually the most inspiring, she has a very healthy attitude towards life in general and seems like a person you could learn a lot from if you knew them.
and last but not least, DAVE, you are awesome for caring this much about what your fans think and feel and for letting everyone feel as if they are in a small way a part of your life.
you rock, dude.

Posted by: Tali at September 13, 2006 02:28 PM

Hi Dave,

Well, sorry we won't be able to see you on TV lookin as hot as ever. I have to say that I am so excited that Lukas won. He had me at Rebel Yell and I never looked back. He just has that something that the others did not. Keep rockin that body of yours.

Lovin you sexy
Peace

Posted by: Faith at September 13, 2006 02:29 PM

I'm not a big Lukas fan but I am happy for him. (My favorite is Magni). But I grew an appreciation for Lukas watching the webisodes on the SN site. Regardless of what anyone thinks, the top 4 (and Storm) can have remarkable careers provided they strike while the fire is hot -- like right now. My biggest fear for Magni is that now that he has international fans, I hope that he does not disappear only to be a bigger celeb in Iceland. I think all these should use this experience as their stepping stone...now.

Posted by: Andi at September 13, 2006 02:29 PM

Talk about signing the Supernova death warrant...no tickets for us for the Philly or Norfolk shows! There is no way I'd spend a dime to listen to that stumbling, bumbling jerk sing for two hours-he reminds me of someone convulsing into a gran mal seizure!
I hope Dilana tells you all to fuck off and goes on her own-screw the houseband and second place bullshit!
Hope you are happy too Dave-do you get a bonus from MB for knocking her hard enough that there was no way she'd come out on top? Had to know it was coming-you all are very transparent!

Posted by: ERIKA at September 13, 2006 02:32 PM

underwhelmed would be the word.

a album out of obligation and a small 3 month tour. then its back to real bidnet.

my biggest disappointment is how this SN has overshadowed TPC so much, its like the panic channel is a non-issue here.

whatever, congrats lukas and janet charlton i guess. i thought the real singer would take it, but in a world filled with whiny snivelers, lukas fits right in.

his oedipus complex kinda makes me go yuck...

Posted by: Blithercaster at September 13, 2006 02:33 PM

Whatever people think....SN believes they picked the best match. I have to agree with them. You need someone with a solid edge to get by in the music bus. Someone that stands out. There is lots of hate here...but I guess people are mad because their fav was not picked. Understandable...but still some people just need to grow up. Rock on Lukas.

Posted by: Candice at September 13, 2006 02:34 PM

Well, I take it that little cartoon chicken with eyebrows has won? I'm sorry for that. If a Smashing Pumpkins tribute band was ever in need of a singer, I'd say sign him up. I, for one, cannot tolerate his voice, nor that pecking-chicken thing he does.

Magni, Toby, Dilana, Storm & Ryan - hurry up and get CDs out there - I'll save the money I WON'T be spending on Supernova for those.

Posted by: rifer at September 13, 2006 02:34 PM

I’d like to thank Supernova for saving me some of my hard earned money. Now I don’t have to buy the album when it’s released or trek out to the shows once the tour starts! I thought they might have picked someone who can actually sing – too bad. Good luck to them!

Posted by: Skye at September 13, 2006 02:40 PM

Dave,

I enjoyed seeing you this morning at the last taping. Sniff, sniff. As the girl in the audience yelled out when Dilana was momentarily tongue-tied, you were HOT. Are always hot. The rest of us were envious of the girls you pulled up to your seats at the end. Lucky girls.

You have such a quick wit and are so entertaining. Your comment to Gilby about that guitar riff was hilarious.

Thanks for making this a memorable season both at the tapings and here on your blog. I will look forward to seeing you guys in concert and keeping an eye out for TV appearances.

And will remain a fan of your website. I am interested in seeing what is said once the SN nonsense has died down.

Peace, out

Posted by: Tustin at September 13, 2006 02:42 PM

Dave, I wish last night's show had some sort of "board room" moment like on The Apprentice, where the guys could make their case, and where the band could grill them on the tough questions about being their frontperson. I'd have liked to see Lukas discuss the music put out by Metallica/Voivod/Crue/MoM/GnR.... does he like any of it? He's been snobby enough musically to diss several other acts, including Nirvana. It would be good to know if he thinks he's "too good" to front Supernova.

Or they could have asked Dilana to produce some tracks she's written prior to being on Supernova... if she's even done much songwriting (ie is she an "empty suit"?).

It would have been good to learn how these personalities might mesh as a band w/ a little more non-singing insight, at least for the top 4.

Dave,
don't forget to tell your buddy Perkins happy freakin birthday today!!!

in a word, Awesome!

Posted by: blue-eyed devil at September 13, 2006 02:44 PM

SN might have lost some fans...but they will have sold out shows from all their new fans. Like him or not. Lukas is the one. Get over it. Bitching about it will not change anything. Signed sealed and delivered. So stop looking for the hate and accept the decision. Me for one..couldn't agree more with their decision. I had lots of singers that I enjoyed...but I knew that Lukas was the right match for them.

Posted by: Tonia at September 13, 2006 02:45 PM

Like Storm put it, it doesn't mean they don't rule, just that they were not the right fit with Supernova. I can see Toby, Magni, Storm, and Ryan Star going so much farther without Supernova. They are sell out arena material. I haven't seen the show yet. But the winner was always obvious. And I hope they all do well. It's been fun watching them. Dave has brought some great new musicians to the world this season. Good on ya for that!!! We needed them! And many people discovered SRL this season!!!

Posted by: New fan at September 13, 2006 02:45 PM

Not a surprise. He was the guy to beat from the beginning. The Chevy Nova songs haven't been great. Toby would have been a better pick to give those songs some life and energy.

Prefer to have the surprise now than tonight on TV.

Watching last night, it was clear that "Magni and the House Band" is the concert I'd buy a ticket to see.

Posted by: John at September 13, 2006 02:46 PM

And John, apparently you will get your wish as they said Magni and all of the non-winning final competitors will be on some part of the tour and be playing with the house band down the road.

Posted by: Tustin at September 13, 2006 02:49 PM

why is it people come here and bitch the fucking shit out of supernova ....if they think they were better -hell get up and do it!!!
Or better still if you dont like what ur seeing -dont watch...nobody is forcing you.

Posted by: Deb at September 13, 2006 02:51 PM

Dave, just got your solo album. I'm diggin' it. I love your voice. Will you please do a little more singing with Panic Channel. I think the switchup would be a nice addition. And I'm sure your fans would dig it.

Posted by: Dawna at September 13, 2006 02:51 PM

Well, if the outcome is what the spoiler buzz on the net is telling us (Lukas wins) then it just confirms a few things.

1: The show is just a celebrity circle jerk.

2: People in Hollywood, and the entertainment industry in general, are so far out of touch with the world outside of their celbrity circle jerk that its almost sad. Kind of like thinking Brokback Mountain would be seen by anyone other than people working in show biz. And yet it wins an Oscar.

The best thing that could happen would be for Johhny Rotton, Janis Japlin, Jimmy Hendrix and Joe Strummer to gather up some dead gods to come back from the grave and smack the crap out of everyone involved in this show.

Whats next? Are You going to tell me manufactured 'Boy Bands' are the new Rock and roll?

It's a sad day when all the industry can push on us is freeze dried pop tarts. Justin Timberlake types are not the new 'cool' in Rock music. It will never happen no matter how much advertising money and promotion spots you give them.

Posted by: Seeker at September 13, 2006 02:53 PM

I hope you all aren't right! I was ready to buy all their albums and see the concerts (only one here in Washington)if Dilana won, or even some of the albums and no concerts for Toby or Magni, but if you're right then "I got something stuck in my throat..it must be T-Lee" from Canada will never grace my ears...and Supernova will burn out like Lee's solo career! I will follow the other three though!

Posted by: Karlene at September 13, 2006 02:53 PM

Tickets on EBAY for VA show-I absolutley refuse to sit through 2 hours of someone mumbling like they just swallowed a bag of marbles!

I'm from Oz and now I will record over todays show, I'm not a fan of the skunk boy. I thought that Toby had it all going for him. What is it about us aussies, first MiG and now Toby????????

Dave, when you go on hols come down under for your bit of R & R, the weather is unreal at the moment, sun is shining, birds are singing and you couldn't want for anything else.

Upset that I won't be seeing you on the TV for two nights, but now that I know that your site exists I shall visit you more often. I'm only a new family member to the 6767's and I love it.

I'm glad that Dilana didn't win, but seriously... did it have to play out EXACTLY like Janet Charlton said it would? A tad too coincidental for my liking. And, in my opinion, the fact that she was right takes away from the integrity of the program. THAT is disappointing.

Good for the Lukas. I think that kid honestly just wanted to be in Supernova because he liked the guys, not because he was looking for a path to something better.

Hey guys, as for listening for GRUMBLE, go download some of Lukas's stuff---Definately no grumble there, ever think it may be the feedback from him being so close to the mike, no probably not, just can't admit when someone has some talent. Has anybody heard how many songs he has with the Canadian Song Writing Company, no probably not, as for the way most think on here, Lukas has no Talent.

Get over it people. And as for Janet C. knowing...hell I knew on the first episode. So if I put that on a website and say the contest was rigged..does that mean it was? Pleaseeeee.. The chick took an educated guess on what she saw and hoped that people believed her. I guess she got what she wanted. Why is whenever there is a contest people always thinks it rigged. And why bash Lukas when all he did was get on that stage and do his best. Yes, I think there is a lot of hate on here...but I believe the Dave and SN knows that there is also sooo much happiness for him from his fans. Hey, even most of the rockers that left the house said that he should get the gig...and at this point they should know better than any of us.

Them's fightin' words girl. This is Dave's board and obviously you don't really have an interest in Dave...so what are you doing here exactly?

Posted by: Just Me at September 13, 2006 03:04 PM

Hi Dave,

Thanks for all the fun this summer with Rockstar. I think you proved your point - the need to showcase rock & rock talent.

Your readers will probably roast me for saying so, but the amount of animosity and disbelief all over the internet at this point proves to me, anyway, just how right you were.

Very few kids grow up with classical musical training or exposure, and the vast majority of what they consider "music" just isn't. I love all music - even good Rap and Hip Hop is awesome - but so much of what I hear these days just plain sucks. I won't pick on the old folks, but many willingly admit their tastes are set in the past. Music is itching for a creative breakthrough, and I applaud your efforts - on every level - to make that happen.

I've been wondering latetly if the concept of musicality is just over people's heads? Well I'll leave it at that and say a thank you to "the powers that be" for Lukas, and a nod to you, Dave, for creating the opportunity.

-RoadDog (but NOT the one your guitar tech should contact!!)

Posted by: RoadDog at September 13, 2006 03:05 PM

I have had some good laughs over the past weeks. I was annoyed at how Tommy appeared to pick on Magni quite a bit. Maybe he's jealous of Magni's talent or his witty comebacks to his sarcastic remarks. Lukas wasn't my pick but I wanted the best singer to win. The guys picked the person they thought best fitted their band. Highlights of the show for me were Dave's make-up, Gilby's hair, Tommy's skinny frame and Magni, Toby and Dilana performing. I was too distracted by Lukas' appearance to judge his singing properly.

Posted by: Kiwibunz at September 13, 2006 03:05 PM

Wow, this sucks, just like lukas does. Whatever their name is going to be, they are going to tank big time, and they deserve to since they chose the biggest failure of all time to front the band. Not going to purchase anything put out by them, nor will I go see them live...i'll go see everyone else's projects though, and believe that the rest of the final four as well as many of the others dumped along the way will eclipse them with ease.

I am curious as to how some people have found out that Lukas won, thanks for the spoiler people!!!!

some of us do not live in LA and would have liked to have found out by watching the show, oh well, I guess when your bitter you want to ruin it for everyone else.

For all those who are disappointed that Lukas won,
oh well so sad, don't go, send me your tickets...rofl.

I don't think they will be all that torn up because a handful of you are bitter...lol.

Get over it! The fact remains, Canada produces the best singers- its all that fresh northern air.

Posted by: Noelle at September 13, 2006 03:07 PM

I am totally stoked that Lukas has been chosen to front the band...I have to say that I am not in the least surprised, I knew it would be him from early on because he is an UNREAL talent, he fits Supernova, and TLee loves him. Janet Charleton didn't have any inside sources that told her who the winner was...she wrote that on her site because she knew, like everyone else, that the answer was obvious.
**2 Canadians in a row, eh?

Hello Dave, I feel so bad for you that you have to read a lot of this negative crap. I really feel bad for Dilana. She was my choice even though I knew that Lukas would probably win. I believe that Dilana wanted this gig the most. I hope she took it alright and I wish her all the best. As for Lukas, Congats. It had to be one or the other. Good luck in everything you do. I have enjoyed reading your postings and I believe that you have a lot of class. It has been a pleasure. Bye until next ROCKSTAR??????

Posted by: Ronee at September 13, 2006 03:11 PM

Okay...we can all do the math here. It was a tight - close race between 4 people. So we can guess the fans were devided into almost four...so yes...we get the point that 3/4 of the people are not going to be happy. If Magni won - people would have been - "He is soo boring - why did you choose him?" If it was Toby - "Good singer, not the right fit for the band" and Dilana - "Good singer but watch you back for flying glass" Yadda Yadda Yadda. I say...congrats Lukas and the remaining 3. You all did great jobs...but only one of you is the total right fit for SN...That was Lukas. Do you really see the others fronting this band...I mean really. I love their voice...but none of them was right for the band. They are all good singers....but again and again..they were not the right fit.

Posted by: Okay at September 13, 2006 03:11 PM

alrighty.. now that all the fanfare is over and SN has lost the rights to the name SuperNova..

My thought is, all the shit that has been contracted to go along with their tour might be null and void because the name is gone?

Parties that really don't want to be associated with this circus might be able to back out without a bunch of shit hitting the fan.

New name thoughts?
The Tommy Lee Project?
(# of tour dates scheduled) days

The premise of this show isn't a bad thing.. getting rock and roll back on television is good. Including songs that are clearly not rock and roll (I will survive) in the offerings was bullshit.

This was the first reality show I ever got sucked in to. I didn't even see the first 3 episodes but I got hooked (TY Storm Large) and as anticlimatic as it will be, I will be turing it on tonight just to see the performances (mostly Magni)

I do hope to see you Dave, and Brooke next season.. maybe with a bit of a new twist. Put together another killer house band - prize being a 6 month tour with said band - and national exposure. Just weed out the crap songs from the selection. Revolving judges maybe...

any thoughts on another season people?

Posted by: Opal at September 13, 2006 03:13 PM

Im kinda shocked by people selling their tickets just cause skunky canuck won. You'd still get to see the house band and TPC, I'd pay just to see that, then leave. Im sure you wont be the only ones. Besides, go for the house band, and you get to see Storm.

Posted by: Justplainj at September 13, 2006 03:14 PM

Just wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed watching Rockstar this season...

You and Gilby are so well-spoken and SO COOL!!!

Can't wait to see you guys in concert.

My interest was never in SN to begin with! My reason for going to this site is I am and always will be a Dave Navarro fan. Kudos Dave,<. Keep on rocking in the free world ! <: Love Peaches

I am sooo buying tickets now...thank you SN. Oh and congrats to the remaining four. You all did a great job......oh and can you see that Lukas fans don't bash. Can we say the same for others. Get a life people. Yes, it is a contest...you all heard great singers and it is easy to fall in love with some of them. If they don't fit..they don't fit...maybe that is why Lukas has so many fans. He always took it like a man...and not a baby. Grow up and take it like a man. The show is over...you don't have to watch it...

Hey can anyone tell me if there was all this bad negative talk last year with Rockstar:Inxs?

Posted by: Angie at September 13, 2006 03:17 PM

Dave: If you are smart you will delete this thread unread. But then again if you did that you wouldn't be reading this post telling you to delete the thread. Ok, so if you are smart you are sitting on a beach right now watching the naked cavort in the waves while sipping a nice fruity drink and thinking about how to fit all those nice, young, firm, nubile female bodies into your bedroom.

And now to actually vent:

To everyone who thinks that Lukas mumbles: Did you ever stop to ask yourselves why Tommy, Jason or Gilby never called him out for it? Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, the sound was muddy, or improperly mixed? I would think that if Lukas was an incomprehensible as it seemed, and he sure seemed so on my tv, then SN *and* Dave would have said something. Obviously, then something was lost between what the studio heard and what came across on our tv's.

And about the songwriting. If all Lukas can write is one chorus and one verse, then who wrote the song he sang for the first clinic? It seemed a complete song to me. I don't remember him just singing one verse and one chorus over and over again. And I think they only had something like 48 hrs to do that? Hmmm. And since he has quite a catalogue of songs from his Cleavage and Rise Electric days, I wonder who wrote all of those? Maybe the other band members? And he did say he wanted to see how Gilby and he would work together bouncing ideas off each other. Oh, and before I forget...someone who was also accused of being lazy and unprofessional, JD Fortune. Gee, I wonder what ever happened to that guy.

And the jerky movements on stage. I guess you guys have never been totally lost in a moment where you aren't aware of how you are moving. It's called total abandonment, people. and that is what, for me anyway, a good performer does...abandons oneself to the music...becomes a conduit for the music. I don't care if he writhes on the floor pretending to masturbate, if he can bring the goods and take me along with him then that's all that matters to me. You want coreography? Go watch Backstreet Boys or Britney Spears.

As for not being able to sing. Ever hear of Lou Reed? Leonard Cohen? Bob Dylan? Patty Smith? Bob Geldof? Neil Young? Or even Bono? For fucks sake, half the old blues singers couldn't sing! And the blues is the basis for rock music. If you want someone who has a good voice and can sing the socks off of you go listen to Celine Dion. For me, the most important thing that elevates a person who can sing great into the realms of people who are great singers is passion and conviction. I would rather have Bob Dylan make my ears bleed than someone with a great voice bore me to death.

So get a grip people. Too bad, so sad that your favourite lost. But it wasn't you who lost. Why take it so personally? And I'm quite sure that Suave Porn aren't going to be up on stage all depressed because you decided not go to the show.

And Dave, I didn't get tickets to the Toronto show but if they add another one, and I hope they do, I'll be there with bells on. I just hope they don't clash with your music. What do you think, should I get small jingle bells or the larger bells that they use on horse's tack? Red bells, or green, or brass? Or maybe I should just get one big bell and wear it as a hat?

Posted by: PhanTim at September 13, 2006 03:17 PM

I wish I would have guessed and reported as fact from an inside source on my gossip blog that Lukas would win and suddenly become famous. It's a really fucked up situation for Dave, this bitch selects the guy who gets the most forum traffic and is assumed by everyone to be the favorite, and says he's already been picked as the winner. To prove her wrong, the band would have to pick someone they didn't like as much or pick Lucas and be accused of rigging the show.

Remind me to try this when the new season of 'American Idol' kicks off, though that probably won't be necessary, as Janet will roll the dice again with this tactic.

Posted by: jc at September 13, 2006 03:18 PM

WTF were you guys thinking? LUKAS?? bad choice, wouldnt pay $1 to see him sing! Dilana would have made you guys rise to the top.. You wont be around in 6 months.. Waste of my time watching your stupid show!

Posted by: SHAY at September 13, 2006 03:19 PM

I'm gonna' miss watchin' you Dave. You're cute.

Posted by: headrush67 at September 13, 2006 03:20 PM

Well, it's all said and done. People are reacting as if they actually think this is a serious band. Give it up! Be honest, they're not going to last.

You don't like who won? Oh well. For every person that is disappointed right now, there are an equal amount that are happy.

Beyond all that junk, looking forward to some normal here. Enjoy the vacay Dave.

Posted by: Ashley at September 13, 2006 03:21 PM

How much do you want to bet that Janet C. will say she knows who the winner is for next season. The nutcase made a good guess. I agree with JC in the above post. It put SN in a bad position...but obviously that said FU...we are still going with who we think the best is even if we get shit about it. Hats off SN...bravo and bravo on the selection

Posted by: ??? at September 13, 2006 03:22 PM

I couldn't help but look at the spoilers, I am so happy right now I know there are some pissed off people right now but what can you do, you can't please everybody But I am sure at the amount of haters there are right now you got double or triple the amount of lovers out there right now, and Dave now that the panic channel, the houseband and supernova or whatever their name will be by then I am definatly gonna go out and try to get tickets for your stop in Toronto thats gonna be one hell of a show. Hope you guys add more than 1 date here in Toronto cause your def gonna sell out. Can't wait to see the HomeTown Boy perform!! <3<3<3<3<3<3

Posted by: Dani at September 13, 2006 03:25 PM

Other than posts making fun of the band, no one has really commented on this aspect....

Picking a band name belonging to someone else is a monumental fuckup.

They've gotten millions of $$ in pub for a name they don't have rights to. Their only solid out is to pay big money to the rights holders.

Posted by: CCR at September 13, 2006 03:26 PM

Well I'm quite pissed that I know who won before tonight's airing (thanks a lot, spoiler assholes!!), but I'm not surprised by the choice. Disappointed? Totally!! SN should have thought this through a little more. The tracks they've produced so far are fairly contemporary - not the hard rock these guys all played in their previous lives - and of the singers they had to choose from, Toby has that voice of this generation of rock. ROCK. Not punk or grunge or emo or bands with front men who sound like they're singing with a mouth full of marbles and otherwise growl and whine a lot. Lucas just doesn't fit the style of what I've heard so far from SN and I think it will prove to be a bad choice when it's all said and done. And his original, 'Headspin' sucks! (Didn't he say his song was written for his mother? Weird!!) I have Magni as a close second to Toby but Toby wins on range, power, and the ability to soften/smooth it up. He's done a wonderful job refining his stage presence these past weeks, has a more dynamic (as opposed to spastic) energy than all the others, and perhaps more importantly, if SN were to use his original 'Throw It Away' it would hands down be the first and ultimately biggest single for the band. But that probably wouldn't have happened anyway. Think what happened to Mark Wahlberg's character in Rock Star - "we write the songs, you just show up and sing them." I'm betting also that Lukas doesn't have the type of voice to belt out 2 hours of straight-up rock every night. That would be my single greatest criticism of Dilana as well. I do like her voice but she's got that Stevie Nicks thing where she's going to lose her voice after half a set but there'll be no Christine McVie to bail her out. So Tommy, Gilby, and Justin, I think you blew it, but you know what? It doesn't matter. You guys made your money pimping the show and all that's left it laying down vocals (shitty vocals) to the songs, release the album, go on this tour then shut the whole thing down. Whether the band retains the Supernova name or not, my money says there will never be a followup album. What a huge disappointment guys.

"6767 is Dave's birthday. But nice try, Opal!

But you knew that..."

I really did not know that -- okiedokie.. another piece of information involving numbers that I probably won't remember long.. too much information, not enough brain cells left

------------------------------------------
Ever hear of Lou Reed? Leonard Cohen? Bob Dylan? Patty Smith? Bob Geldof? Neil Young?
------------------------------------------

I think this whole group would melvin Lukas, give him a swirly and giggle about it afterwards.

What I find interesting is that you mention Celine Dion. Now that is a performer I think Lukas has something in common with. A Fake, souless, manufactured musical celebrity. IE "pop Star".

I am still in a state of shock by all this. I feel like a bad joke has been played on me.

Posted by: Seeker at September 13, 2006 03:30 PM

RE: "The best thing that could happen would be for Johhny Rotton, Janis Japlin, Jimmy Hendrix and Joe Strummer to gather up some dead gods to come back from the grave and smack the crap out of everyone involved in this show."

I can't speak for the others, but Joe Strummer would have ADORED Lukas.

FYI.. that many industry people could see Lukas' talent from the beginning does not mean the show was rigged. It does not mean the other rockers weren't talented. Each had strengths and weaknesses. Would you have preferred it Week 1 if SN said wow, this guy is great, show over? Come on, you had fun with the show. So support the person you came to a&preciate - make sure that person has a music career now that the show is done.

Ya know, as much as I didn't want and don't care for Lukas in the least, I'm not going to sit here on Dave's site and gripe and grumble about it.

I for one, am going to miss seeing Dave on a weekly basis on my Television set. He just gets sexier every week in my book.

I do know that TLee has saved me some money though. So off I go to spend that money on Dave's projects... later taters!

Just waiting for someone to say the only reason Lukas won this year, and JD won last..is because MB is a from Canada as well...~shaking head~

Posted by: charm at September 13, 2006 03:32 PM

Thanks for the news about Lukas. I was going to miss the show tonight – live rock’s always better. I didn’t really care who won but it’s cool that Lukas is another Canadian. We rule! I like his Lou Reed/Johnny Rotten kind of vibe. Too bad Dilana did the oh so predictable self-destructive bytch routine though -- she can sing.

Thanks for bringing rock to TV, Dave. Can’t wait to see you and TPC in Vancouver in February.
peace,
Angela

Posted by: Angela at September 13, 2006 03:33 PM

Damn Dave you just can't win can you? Lukas won because SN decided they wanted him to front THEIR band.

I really don't like Lukas's singing style but he is the only performer that literally jumped out at me. It was obvious from the first show that certain members of the band where looking for showmanship first and the voice next. Lukas has the charisma and the arrogant swagger that frontmen like Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger have. That's what my 2 top choices Toby and Magni were missing. Toby is the fun party guy and Magni has a more intense and serious edge.
Toby and his band Juke Kartel have signed with Universal Australia already so hopefully we'll get to here something from them soon. I for one am going to give SN album a shot when it comes out and then if I still don't like it I'll just leave the Orlando concert after the HB and TPC perform.

Posted by: JMO at September 13, 2006 03:33 PM

well, SN just gave me a reason to save the money on seeing them live in western, NY or buying their CD.

hope you enjoy the one CD you guys record w/him which will totally tank.

Posted by: Cooper at September 13, 2006 03:33 PM

From the beginning it has been obvious that Lukas is a Rock Star. Rebel Yell on that first night was incredible and then they gave the encore to someone else!?

Think they have always tried to downplay Lukas' genius on the reality part and perhaps on the performance part too but Lukas is just too exuberant when he performs, so they could not hold him down.

I am so happy Lukas will be staying in the forefront of our lives. Have been trying to figure out what I would do without Lukas around to cheer me.

Dave promise me you will do something with Lukas and perhaps Toby after all the obligations to Supernova are complete.

Have really grown to respect your intelligence, witt, and sexy hotness.

Bisous, Rougette

Posted by: Rougette at September 13, 2006 03:33 PM

Yea...CCR, I agree. It's tough for people to buy to tickets to a show when they don't know the name of the band. Hmmm...let's try searching Ticketmaster for "the band formerly knows as supernova."

Better figure this out quick boys.

Posted by: Dawna at September 13, 2006 03:34 PM

Wow, I haven't seen the finale yet but it's pretty obvious that Lucas won. I am extremely dissapointed. Won't ever buy anything from Supernova now.

You still rock Dave and so does TPC.
Cheers.

there is so much hate in the world already. Is the hate posted on this board (towards Lukas and other rockers fans) really necessary?

Its amazing how vindictive and downright nasty people get when things don't go their way. Jesus internet immitates life.

Like everyone else on the show I think Lukas sang his heart out and proved every week that he has the talent to change things up, put a new twist on any kind of music and remain for the most part diplomatic in the process.

It was pretty cool to watch them all grow and become real rockstars.

I wish them all the best of luck. They will all go far and I'd be happy to buy any of their upcoming albums.

I didn't know until reading this board that he had won. I kind of spoiled my own anticipation of watching tonight by coming here.

I will still watch though because this show has just been alot of fun (for those that took it in that context).

Dave thanks for taking the time to bring this back for a second season <3

I hope, even though your blog has become a simmering cesspool of crap, that you bring us a third season of Rockstar and showcase the talent that's out there, that we may not see, and allow us to come back here and share our views with you. And that you continue to share your humorous views with us.

/cheers and much love :)

Posted by: Serafina at September 13, 2006 03:40 PM

Assuming the spoilers are true...

Well, unlike INXS, SN isn't looking for longevity; these guys have other irons in the fire. Therefore, they just need to pick whoever they think has enough of a fan base to generate the BEST ticket sales in the near term. Yeah, it's all about the money.

I think if it were about who fit best with the band *long term*, Toby might have been the right choice.

BTW, I think Dave was a bit disingenuous Tuesday, saying that he didn't know who was going to be picked... Because if "I'd definitely pay to hear Lukas sing for two hours" isn't intentional pimping, I don't know what is.

Posted by: my2cents at September 13, 2006 03:41 PM

Geez so much hate! It isn't good for you!

I am ECSTATIC Lukas won and I knew from week 1 it was between him and Dilana. I truly hope Dilana goes on to have a successful career, she deserves it - she has a ton of talent.

Toby gave karaoke performances. Magni will go on and have a huge career in Iceland.

Lukas showed to most range and took the most risks all season long.

Like someone said, you don't want your tickets because your crybabies? Send them this way!

PS- Dave you are so hot, I will miss seeing you twice a week on the TV

This is just like last year everyone hate JD and said INXS lost all their fans, boo hoo. But yet INXS is laughing all the way to the bank, and JD is stoked out of his mind. So your favorite did not win news flash it's not your band, if you do not like it don’t buy their music. Go support your favorite, in fact go support local musicians.

I personal think Lukas is the best thing to happen to music in a long time. I will support him and several other rockers. Overall the talent was so much better this year!!!

Go Lukas, go Rossi Possi.

Posted by: lukasfan at September 13, 2006 03:44 PM

OFF TOPIC BUT VERY IMPORTANT.

I wanted to let people know that there was another school shooting at a College in downtown Montreal. Reports are indicating that up to 13 are seriously wounded and some stations say 6 other stations are saying 7 are dead. The police shot one of the shooters but they think there was two of them and that one is on the loose.

I realize that this is not really the place to post such a message because it has nothing to do with rock, but it is one of those things that affects all of us in one way or another.

For myself, it makes the bickering over who won rockstar and whether or not they deserved it etc, kind of silly in comparison.

If people wouldn't mind, could you say a pray or whatever you personally do (take a moment) and think about those 20 students and the many more affected by this tragedy.

Sorry if this post is inapporiate Dave, or anyone else who may get thier nickers in a bunch, but I felt the need to ask you all for your support for these students and their families.

Noelle, You have a prayer from me, for what's it worth and why apologize?????...that was VERY appropriate to post that here. There's a lot more to get angry about in this world than over some t.v. show "reality" show (that is SO far from reality btw). It's sad how most people are so self-absorbed they can't see past themselves or their computer screens or their masked opinions to really know what the hell to be angry or depressed about. Maybe those people have been lucky enough to have never had to suffer tragedy or loss. I envy them if that's all they have to be angry about. I feel sorry for them if this is the only way they can let it go. Lucas won. Oh boy. Let's put it in perspective. Are we done now?

Wow, lots of hate. Well, here's some LOVE! I'm so happy Lukas won. I've loved him from BEFORE Supernova was even a gleam in Tommy and MB's wallets. I remember hearing him with his old band Cleavage. So, now my fave has won the big prize. I love it. It'll make following his career much easier.

Still disappointed in how poorly Marty's band has been promoted by their label. I was a huge Marty fan last year and it's been very discouraging to see the Lovehammers struggle still. So happy that Lukas will have less of a struggle to be heard now by his adoring fans, old and new!

Luke IS love! I'll be a fan forever, whether it be with SuperNoName, or a year later with whatever band Lukas decides to create beautiful music with. Today is a GREAT day to be a fan of great music!

go lucas go
although dilana was back to herself last night
can't wait!!

Posted by: kanoehead at September 13, 2006 04:06 PM

I'm praying that this isn't true. I'm hoping that Dave is going to laugh his ass off in his post later that everyone believed the rumors. Since when are tabloid writers credible?

My husband and I argued last night over who Supernova was going to pick. We both feel Dilana IS the best, but he guessed that LameAss LukASS would win. His theory was, Lukas is "modern rock" now that the "kids" are listening to The Killers, Panic At the Disco, etc. I argued Supernova would be stupid to let Dilana go. I still stand by that. I told my husband that if LukASS won, I will not buy any Supernova albums or tickets to any shows. I completely stand by that. I'll be waiting for Dilana's album to come out.

At this point I really don't give a shit who wins -- I'm really going to miss seeing Dave Navarro on t.v. twice a week! Hey man, please do another show.

Posted by: whitebird at September 13, 2006 04:11 PM

you know, for all of you that have posted the spoilers of tonight's show (if in fact you aren't just stirring the pot like a lot of you enjoy doing) you have just proved how selfish and childish you are. you have no respect for anyone. thank god this show is over. well, for most of us, it will be in a couple of hours.

Dave, is this shit over yet? Wake me when it's over.

What a bunch of sore losers. Instead of crying about whoever didn't get the gig, learn from it. Next time, wait until they declare the winner before you run out and buy tix. That's like buying a car and not knowing what model it is, even though you hate two of the three available.

We live in a global economy and news travels fast...

from the Sydney Morning Herald
Jano Gibson
September 13, 2006

Australian singer Toby Rand's free ticket to rock'n'roll glory has been pulled from him at the last minute after the outright favourite failed to win the US reality TV show Rockstar: Supernova.

Canadian rocker Lukas Rossi was crowned the winner this morning and has now earned the right to front drummer Tommy Lee's band, Supernova.

Rossi, who has similar looks to Australian Idol contenstant Lee Harding, is described on the Rockstar: Supernova website as a gifted singer with a "Jeff Buckley meets Freddie Mercury" style.

Rand had previously told media that if he didn't win the competition, he was still likely to get a record contract.

The 28-year-old from Melbourne was the outright favourite to win US reality TV show.

But it will be the Canadian contestant who will front Lee's new all-star band Supernova, featuring former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.

The newly formed supergroup will record an album and embark on a 28-city tour of the US and Canada.

Rand had impressed Lee during the first 10 weeks of the show by stripping naked and also exciting female fans during live performances.

When Rand recently sang the Billy Idol anthem, Rebel Yell, the surfer from St Kilda dragged eight women from the crowd on stage to dance with him.

"Grab those girls and let's go back to my dressing room," a joyous Lee told Rand after the performance.

Clips of Rand have proved popular on internet video site YouTube, with fans entreating viewers to get on the "Randwagon" and vote him through.

On a recent episode, Lee and his Supernova bandmates, rewarded Rand ahead of his rival contestants with a $US25,000 Honda Element car.

The prize was given after the contestants were asked to perform an original song, with Rand impressing Lee, Newsted and Clarke with a fast-paced, Australian Crawl-sounding song, Throw it Away.

Before his performance, Rand, holding an Australian flag, honoured his fallen countryman, Steve Irwin.

"I know you guys all loved him," Rand said.

"Everyone back in Australia loved him - The Crocodile Hunter.

"I dedicate this to that boy right there."

The last four contestants in Rockstar: Supernova came from all corners of the globe.

Rand is well known on the Melbourne pub circuit for his band, Juke Kartel.

The Rockstar: Supernova finale airs in Australia on Foxtel's FOX8 channel today at 10am and 8.30pm.

Love ya!

{ok ... did that at least get your attention?}

Crap, I read your blog before the show aired here, Im freaking pissed........

Posted by: Courtney at September 13, 2006 04:21 PM

NOELLE: My prayers are with those affected by this shooting. I just read an article that 20 people were shot - 6 are critical and that the police killed the shooter.

JEFF: Eh... To each his own at this point. No matter what we do, there's always going to be someone to post spoilers no matter where we go.

Totally forgot that TLee did say this was a one album gig before the show started. Wish I could find that article, but someone's post above reminded me of it.

Someone else mentioned mixing or the mic being too close to Lukas' mouth in another post. Just a thought... if it was a mixing issue, why was it just for Lukas? He is the only one where 90% of the season, I couldn't understand what he was singing.

I would think that if SN truly wanted to make big bucks and have a successful CD that they'd want people to be able to hear the lyrics to their songs.

Well, no matter now, eh? Doesn't matter who they would have chosen, there'd still be a bunch of people coming here to Dave's site getting their hate on.

I say get over it already... Let's get back to just Dave and his endeavors and those that wanna discuss SN and their pick to front the band go elsewhere. Alas, that's wishful thinkin, ain't it?

Posted by: Tamm at September 13, 2006 04:22 PM

Yes, I was going to suggest that Dave swing by and maybe "gas up" the Austin City Limits festival on his vacation...Please come but if you do, I probably won't go otherwise because I cannot afford it.

You know what is really crazy? I have been reading this for weeks, and loving Dave's intelligence. Plus, the way he carries himself is great. But, I think of him as "dave" rather than "dave navarro". Well, last night I went to my kids open house, at where? NAVARRO elementary, in Lockhart, TX!!!!!!!!!! I finally connected the two and was like-too cool! My kids go to the "rocking-est school around" because of the name:)

Posted by: SharonW. at September 13, 2006 04:23 PM

Lukas? I thought Supernova were after a singer? Guess not.

What a waste of time this has all proven to be.

Posted by: JR at September 13, 2006 04:24 PM

I think the lead singer Supernova is looking for did not show up for this competition, but everyone on there is amazing in their own way and I have really enjoyed watching them all, as last season. Can't wait for another...

Posted by: Sharon Roberts at September 13, 2006 04:24 PM

Well Rossi won well color me fucking shocked.BWAAAAHHH?Look to all you losers out there who think you know fucking music.Guess what you don't how many of you lot watch American Idol?If you do then you don't qualify to post anything anywhere about rock music or anything for that matter.

Rossi is heads and shoulders better than anyone on this show his only competition was JD Fortune.Wait wrong fucking season but JD's Money was a fucking thing of beauty.Bittersweet Symphony was one the best things done on the whole show if not the best thing done on the whole show no Tommy didn't say it was the best but it fucking was.I eagerly anticipate a longer version of it cause it is the bomb the way Lukas does it.

Posted by: Angie at September 13, 2006 03:17 PM

actually no there wasn't. last year, people were grownups. that was a good question angie. nice to see an actual question instead of all of the rest.

Tamm

I wonder if you have heard any of Lukas's stuff besides on Rockstar, I have some songs downloaded, and you can understand everyword, And you say that you had read before that this is just a 1 album deal, I never knew that, but then I didn't watch Rockstar wneh it first started, just happened to turn the channel one eveening and found it, Though I am disappointed that I did miss alot, and would loved to have seen last years show to.

Posted by: Angie at September 13, 2006 04:28 PM

Angie, no, I haven't heard his stuff other than rockstar... yet... someone suggested that I go over to YOU TUBE and find some of his stuff. I plan on doing that AFTER the finale tonight.

I must say I agree with AE about Tommy's comments to Magni, last night. DID he forget they told them to sing the same originals AGAIN? I mean come on, no it didn't have "oh,oh, oh, oh oh" but if you like heavier, guitar rock, YOU LOVED MAGNI's performance.

Thanks spoilers, you could have waited or posted a link. I will still watch but you could have respected us who wanted to wait and see.

Lukasfan,

Yes, thank you. I did mean Sid. I was all frenzied after stopping here and reading the spoiler. I got my bitch out of my system now, thank you.

I still am completely baffled how the guy the general public can't stand won. Oh well. I dont have to listen to it or buy it and I wont.

Those complaining about being 'spoiled' I think your in the same boat as me. If you really didnt want to know ahead of time you probably should not have been browsing the sites directly related to SN today (this one included). You knew the word was going to be all over the place and you know it was the topic of the hour.

Tomorrow Lukas and SN will be forgotten. Today the world is confused and talking about it.

I wish him well. Hope he makes a quick buck. I still think the whole thing has about as much rock integrity as Celine Dion Singing an AC/DC tune, though.

Posted by: Seeker at September 13, 2006 04:38 PM

DAVE if you didn't give up on the human race before getting to this post....amen to that.
I am also sad that I came here to be told after waiting all day with excitement for the big night. I am overjoyed. Anyone who doesn't see the unique talent Lukas has isn't blind, or deaf. They just have a different taste in music than I and millions of others do. Go watch him on youtube and see how many honors his videos have gotten in the past few months. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the boy is a one a million talent. I am thrilled I have tickets to see you Dave and now the bigger bonus is Super(whateveryournewnamewillbe)nova. Why would people have the nerve to disrespect you and your blog this way is beyond my adult way of thinking. I want to say I am sorry and ashamed at other human beings for such rude behavior. The internet breeds it. Hiding behind a screen name, when you do not have the balls to say such things in a public forum, where you would have to show yourself as the low life that you are. I for one thank you Dave for being a fellow music lover. A fellow internet music lover and promoting what I thought was the best damn show on TV all year. Hell all century! I enjoyed it every Tues/Weds nights. Best of luck with TPC and I sir, will see you in Chicago!!!! With bells on.

Posted by: Sue at September 13, 2006 04:39 PM

Wow, I guess Lukas was crowned, I haven't seen the show yet. I gotta admit , I like the kid. I liked the stuff I've seen on youtube. That's OK, we need some new blood out there. Somebody who can write a new song, new lyrics. I don't
understand all the hate. If you don't like it, don't listen, or watch. nobody is forcing you. Are you sitting there tied up with duct tape in front of the TV? Guess my age is showing, I'm a child of the sixties and always will be. My library goes from Janis and Jimmy to Tool and TPC. I listen to what I like, go to concerts that I want to hear and see. I'm FREEEEEEEEEE, as The Who song goes. I learned a long time ago to vote with my pocketbook and my feet. Gheesh,
leave poor Dave alone already. He needs a rest from all this stuff. Go Dave, Maybe I'll catch ya on the beach. Peace all,

Posted by: gloria at September 13, 2006 04:40 PM

Dave, when did you start looking like the artist formerly known as Prince (whatever the heck he's called now, who knows...) - I think you need a haircut also! Love anyway, Teresa

Posted by: Teresa at September 13, 2006 04:42 PM

I opened up your website at 4:20pm California time and I had no idea that the winner would have already been announced - the very first comment ruined the surprise for me...I could hardly wait to get back home watch it on TiVO tonight, now not only do I know what happened but my least favorite performer won - least favorite of the bottom 6...I would have bought tour tickets if it had been any of the other 5. Of course I have the dilemma of having to miss TPC & that fantastic house band; however, I am sure their play time will not be that long since Supernova is the headliner. You did a great job on the show, Dave, I really enjoyed every minute of it. Do you know what really makes me crazy? Is that Janet Charlton will be able to say she was right all along and that they had chosen the winner a long time ago.

Posted by: Leslie Sjolund at September 13, 2006 04:43 PM

DAVE!!!! I'm going to miss seeing you twice a week! You are so entertaining and well-spoken!

I am ecstatic that LUKAS won!!!!! I have been a fan since day 1! Each rocker has special talent but FOR ME, he has that something extra.

I understand that each person has their own taste in music but DAMN! Why does there have to be such negativity and downright hate? Is this how these people act in real life?! I hope not!

PEACE! Lovin' the new TPC cd!

FELLOW PUPPETS... please don't be so upset. Life goes on, for those of us lucky enough to have made it through the day without getting shot (that sucks, prayers to those involved in Montreal)...
YES, it was a done deal a long time ago and the show was built around Lukas... anybody ever heard of ZACK WERNER?
Yeah, the judge on that ultra lame Canadian Idol show... well, Zack is also a very connected music lawyer and runs his own record label among other things... Lukas and Cleavage have been under his wing since way back. (Zack co-produced my band's cd back in 1996, so I know him personally and professionally; not just blowing smoke up yer asses)
Is it SO bad that a bunch of very talented people were brought to our attention? HOW can this be such an emotional isssue for some people? It's Mark Burnett, damnit! Of COURSE he's going to give us a plate full of fake reality and pull our strings; it's part of the allure and, for ME, FUN...
Possibly rhetorical questions;
-the Supercoma cd will drop pretty quickly... don't you think it reasonable to assume that Lukas has been cutting tracks for some time now?
-Dilana came out of the gate unbelievably strong... doesn't that editing hatchet job look exactly like what it was? Yeah, she's a bit of a loose cannon, but they set her up and she dove in... unless (cue sinister orchestra) SHE WAS IN ON IT.
-Ryan rapidly gained support with the fans... oh fuck! Better give him an encore performance and a new vehicle! (we NEED those Ryan fans to spend their cash on Soup Or Nova's merch)
-Toby also picked up major impetus along the way... how many encores did he earn? Give him a car too and shut the fans up, get their dollars.
-Storm's class and popularity meant she had to get the tongue bath going away gift of the year, and also gets Dave to play guitar on her soon to be huge single. (no doubt BURNett is in for major points)
-Magni? He was great... what does HE get? Hmmm, no car... nothing but some cold comments from Schlongee Lee... maybe he gets more time with the killer House Band than anyone else?
-Janet Charlton MY ASS... just another carrion feeder... the writing was on the wall all along. Didn't the sudden appearance of Dilana's photo, prominently displayed on Schlongo's site, tip anyone off? The powers that be had to offset that leak about Lukas winning it... it's called damage control.
-the song Headspin... duh, how many times do you have to hear it to know that it will get a major make-over and push when Stoop And Blower releases their cd?
Oh, I could go on, but why bother? If you can't go with the game and enjoy the ride, that's your loss and I'm sorry you are pissed.
Lukas has enough going for him, just like the half dozen or so runners up, to have a shot at making a living in the shark infested waters of the music bizz.
Do all the Dave Navarro fans get pissed at him now, too?
sheeee - it.... I'm done. It's been a ride... I'll check back in when the poop mudslide subsides, in a few weeks.
Been nice meeting some of ya!
Peace, music, passion.

Didn't know this site was here until today. Makes me sad to see all the negativity about Lukas. It's a contest people...someone has to lose. Why be so mean to someone just because you don't like their music. Calling him names seems a bit pointless to me. No wonder there is so much crap in the world with mentality like that. I think all of the singers did a great job but I hope that Lukas did win. Can't wait to watch tonight and cant wait to get my tickets. Personally, I WOULD pay to watch Lukas sit and pick his nose. Love him. Thanks for the site Dave.

Posted by: jls at September 13, 2006 04:44 PM

Well I think the result was great. I was a Dilana fan at first but she soon lost her appeal . The rest were all great entertainers on a certain level and at different times but Lukas grew on me.
I find him fascinating and fun to watch..I even have downloaded much of his music and all the show videos as well. I even love the SN one, Shine On.
I am no where near a teeny bopper ( I am 54) and have very eclectic music tastes...from opera to jazz and have seen a alot of great acts in my time.....I like This guy and think he will do very well..
So my congrats to all for putting on a very enjoyable show this summer and also for ending up with the right choice...Lukas!!
....and by the way Brokeback mountain was a very good movie !!

We are thrilled for him. Why did his youtube performances get so many honors? Go see for yourself. No wait. Don't! Find music you do like and then support it with your dollars. I will be first inline for even one CD of Lukas and the boys. Turn the dial, change the channel, just don't come here to Dave's place and act stupid. Go watch Idol and yell at Simon and Paula for a bit and give Dave a much needed break. We love you Lukas!!!!!!!!!!! Funky Passion and Great Hair

Hi Dave,

Hope your day went well!! Let me just tell you a little something that happened today on ROCKSTAR website. It seems that your "MOD" doesn't like when people speak the truth! I was a bad girl and I was BANNED. EWW don't you just want to spank me!! This is what I said, do you think it is BAD!!!

"Listen, How can you sit and talk about spoilers when the whole show was rigged in the first place.

I sit at home and watch, then vote for my favorite from my computer. What about the people that spend money texting their vote in for a show that is rigged.

Dave Navarro, I HAD a lot of respect for you and your show until TODAY!!! I completely agreed with ALL of YOUR comments regarding the performances only to find out that it was rigged. YES you are right in what you said in your blog at www.6767.com, that the band has the right to pick whomever they want HOWEVER, you should then not be charging people for voting. I spent Hours, upon hours, of time voting, of which I can never get back, believing that my vote really counted, only to be disappointed to find out that it didn't really matter at all!

The winner was in fact posted on the internet on Aug. 27th, so what have we been doing for the last 3 weeks????

Why do we never see the numerical amount of votes for a particular person? We see them in every election in the United States. You want to differentiate yourself and your reality show from "AI" and being on the up and up, but yet we never see the true numerical vote, which even adds more suspicion to the legitimacy of your compaction.

Thank you "Rockstar" for the beginning of the end of reality TV shows. We can all sit back stop voting, and take it as an entertainment show for which it really is."

Hum....my only question for the night is should I record bones or watch it now instead of Rockstar? decisions!!!

Posted by: Felicia at September 13, 2006 05:01 PM

Yeah, daves so cool, he looks great falling all over Delina, like a high school freshman trying to pick up a girl for the first time. Dave, chill dude, all of america sees you working my man.

Since when did posting your opinion make you a stupid person? I agree some people get entirely too worked up, but I do have a right to disagree with the decision purely for personal reasons. And so do they. I was PERSONALLY excited to see what SN could become, now I'm absolutely disinterested with the direction taken. And I intend to demonstrate that by posting my opinion and withholding my entertainment dollars. Let the kids spend their allowance money. I'm so happy I didn't rush to buy tickets. I'm going to keep looking for that combination that lights me up. The Panic Channel is helping soothe the dissapointment. Love, Teresa

Posted by: Teresa at September 13, 2006 05:04 PM

"Someone else mentioned mixing'

Tamm: I was the one who mentioned the mixing and it wasn't just Lukas who suffered. Patrice's performaces also sounded muddy and across the board there seemed to be a loss in dynamics, a flattening of the highs and lows. At least that's the way it sounded to me.

The thing is: If you go to youtube and listen to Lukas' performances there, his voice is totally audible and I have no trouble making out what he is saying. His version of Hero is very different on youtube compared to what I heard on my tv. Why should that be? I would have thought that because these are copies the sound would be worse not better. Even the video of his live performances with Cleavage and Rise Electric sound better than the way they mixed him on Rockstar. And I still find it peculiar that no one called him for it on the show. They nitpicked on the littlest things but not tag him for poor enunciation? Something is fishy and it's not just the squid.

It's amazing how many people are so upset about Lucas. I'm with them. I feel like I was watching a slow car crash for 10 weeks. You have a bad feeling you know the outcome when it started, but you can't turn away, you can't not look and watch. Once the dust settles and what you feared most is true. You are just numb and sick to your stomach that you ever even watched in the first place. With Lucas as the singer there is an unfortunate possibility that the whole Supernova thing is just a publicity stunt with loaded agendas for the professional artists to further lauch their careers. Voivod has gotten more press in the last 10 weeks than they had in the last 10 years because of the show (including guests on Camp Freddy radio). Tommy got a recent shoot in GQ magazine that referenced supernova. And Gliby Clarke has just recently signed on for some studio musican gigs.

Posted by: Wade at September 13, 2006 05:17 PM

Well, they said right at the beginning that a chick could not front a rock band. Wankers, that chick that you just ditched is going to walk all over you and still be there in 10 years time. Im looking forward to her bringing back the era of rock super divas!

She should tell them all to get fucked in regards to the bullshit tour - is that supposed to be a consolation prize? In fact I think Magni and Toby should tell them to get fucked as well. Who would want to be part of that freaky circus after getting tossed aside for skunk boy.

Dilana, Magni and Toby - fuck the tour - you dont need to degrade yourselves any further. And you don't need any more exposure - get your arses into the studio and start laying down tracks.

My money that was going to go on a SN album is now sitting waiting for your albums.

Posted by: Kiwichick at September 13, 2006 05:17 PM

They announced Dilana got the most votes. These guys didn't have the balls to pick a Rock Star like Dilana. Dave, please form a band around you and Dilana, you guys seem to have a connection.

Posted by: polomontana at September 13, 2006 05:20 PM

FIRST - if you come to this site, why don't you edcuate yourself about Dave Navarro, it is HIS site not a fucking RS:SN site - so, quit asking questions like "what does 6767 mean" - the regular posters here and lurkers, like myself, know what it means because we are here for Dave number one and RS:SN only because we can't escape you cry baby assholes that won't just shut the fuck up!

TWO - you all should have know there'd be spoilers online - give me a break, they've been taking place all along - GET OVER IT

THREE - again, WHA WHA, conspiracy theorists - get a life - you are fucking ridiculous

FOUR - to those "I don't like Lukas" cryers - NO ONE FUCKING ASKED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE so go away

Everyone needs to shut up!

Can I just say Guys some of the name ideas for supernova are freakn funny this is making my day

I LOVE HATERS!!!!!

LUKAS SUCKS!!!!!!!! I will NOT be buying the CD!!!!!!! SuperDud!!!!!!!! Thank GOD I didn;t buy a ticket - they should have sent skunkboy back to Canada!!!!!!

Posted by: joker at September 13, 2006 05:22 PM

Lukas was the best rocker for the job by far!!! Plus I think he will only get better very multi-talented not just the same voice. Finaly can order those Tickets and Pre order the new CD

Posted by: Ed at September 13, 2006 05:23 PM

Dave, I'd love to cover a few things with you and sincerely hope you read this. Firstly, I have a deep respect for your talent and personality. Your presence and comments contribute so much to RS and keep me watching. I've unknowingly been a Navarro fan, loving every project you've been part of. Your articulate commentary shows you to be well-spoken on top of your other assets. Your talent as a musician and involvememt with social issues gains a great respect from me. Many of us want to change the world, but lose that idealism as we grow. At 35 I maintain that idealism but have yet to accomplish half of what you have. You also maintain the physique of a 20 year-old, dress impeccably (I always love what you're wearing) and have a face and voice that could make any girl melt.

Secondly, I'd love to hear Dilana sing "Ballroom Blitz". I think it's a great song to showcase her (or any female's) vocal range and talent in a true rock star style.

Lukas and Magny are very talented, but I feel that Toby would be the best front man for Supernova. All four deserve a recording contract, but as far as fronting Tommy Lee and the boys, it seems to me the Thunder from Down Under is the best fitting piece to the puzzle.

Keep living.

Posted by: Holly GoLightly at September 13, 2006 05:25 PM

Dave,
Did you really think that a woman had a chance of fronting this band......Honestly?? I know you love dilana, but was she really in with a chance with the SN guys? I think not. The core male audience of this band would never accept a female lead as readily as a male. I guess women audition for "RockStar" in order to gain exposure, certainly not for any real chance of winning.
We all knew last year that INXS would pick a male lead & we knew it this year as well. If "Rockstar" is to continue (& I don't know if there are plans for a third season), then they really have to do something to give women a legitimate 50/50 chance. How you do that I don't know.

Wade,

----------------------------------------------
I feel like I was watching a slow car crash for 10 weeks. You have a bad feeling you know the outcome when it started, but you can't turn away, you can't not look and watch. Once the dust settles and what you feared most is true. You are just numb and sick to your stomach that you ever even watched in the first place
----------------------------------------------

This is the best articualtion of how I feel. Brilliant.

Heres a nice link to hammer than nail right down.

deliria 05:25 PM Post -

Total Word.

Season three should have only female contestants. Because seriously, that's the only way a woman will ever win on this show.

BTW, RS:SN is on even as we speak. Lucas is singing Bittersweet Symphony; or I think he is--it's completely unintelligible mush on my TV...

Posted by: my2cents at September 13, 2006 05:36 PM

The boys made a HUGE mistake. My girl Dilana had the Grittiest voice to come out of nowhere since Tina Turner !!!. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY has as much potential as her. Her voice tops ANYTHING I have heard in 20 yrs. Get her singing blues or Joe Cocker style Rock and Roll and even us old 45-55 yr olds might have bought tickets,,,,,,,,, Skunk boy ? no POSSIBLE way they take ANY market other than the 14-22 yr olds.

fucking bullshit! so its fucking 830 where i am (ontario canada)..and cbs was airing the wrong fucking show..some stupid recap show..it just switched over ..and i missed magni gettin booted ..it cut in half way through lukas singing...i just called my friend and the same shit is going on for her..what the fuck CBS. sorry for dumping on your site Dave but im sure you've got more pull at CBS then some fan living in a small town between Ottawa and Toronto. help and fan out and give CBS shit will ya. Hey Dave - just got home and checking out the blogs. Last time I checked Johnny Rotten was still alive. If Lucas is the winner that is soo cool as I believe that he is the best choice. He is contraversial and has a style that keeps you guessing. If you believe that the show was fixed - change the channel!

I am near 45 and can't stand the little gnome. We all have our opinions. Luckily for us people like "Luckystarz" can TELL us to shut up, but can't MAKE us shut up. I'm sorry to put SuperNova behind me because I was excited about their possibilities... Love, Teresa

Posted by: Teresa at September 13, 2006 05:46 PM

I am from Australia, and it's 10:40am here, and I am at work, so I couldn't watch the live result. Am I right in believing that Lukas has won? While he was pretty good, I don't think he will last long in the public spotlight. People should get sick of him pretty quickly, I know I did over just the course of the RS:SN season. Anyway a bit upset my boy Toby didn't get the gig, but I am sure it's not the last of him...

A True Story
A little indian boy asks his father Father, how did your father name you? Well son my mother gave birth to me & my father came out of Tee Pee to see a big bear, so he named me Big Bear. The boy continued. So what of my two sisters names? Well son your first sister was born & I went out of Tee Pee to see a little white dove & I named her Little White Dove. Your second sister was born & I came out from Tee Pee to see a herd of deer running so I named her Running Deer. Oh, said the boy.
Why do you ask Two Dogs Fucking?

This is the story of Supernova, they (Mark Burnette - Indian Chief ) come up with this idea to promote a band and with INXS there seemed to be a degree of honesty in the process. Now with this rendition we are really exposed to nothing more than music insiders promoting them selves like Two Dogs Fucking. And we the fans end up being the pooch that gets screwed. The songs selection lies are first, then this bullshit about singing and bringing the darkness in the music. All horse shit. Now we have this pussy ass fag Navarro all tatted up and looking like some sort of bad-ass motherfucker. Yet, he goes for a pink cell phone and black nail polish. What kind of gay shit is that? I am looking at this and it dawns on me why the music business is in such a state of ruin. There are NO real men or women and the most real person in the room is herself screwed by the fake men of SuperBlowHards. Storm Large you are the real deal and from one Marine to the child of another you take names and keep on kicking ass. These faggot men only wish they had a dick as long and as hard as yours.

I hadn't planned on going to the show here in Sacramento(no one to babysit my one year old)...but to all of you saying that you are going to sell your tickets because you don't want to sit through two hours of Lucas singing. Well...what about Dave? Don't you guys still want to go and see TPC? Or the Rockstar House Band? How 'bout some of the other Rockstar contestants??? Obviously if you are here, hanging out on Dave's board, you support Dave right? So why don't you still want to go to the show anyhow????

Posted by: Bianca at September 13, 2006 05:47 PM

Bianca -

You're really going to brave the traffic and lines to get into Arco and then leave before the main act?? Just spent time with your baby - better idea. I couldn't listen to Lukas for 2 songs in a row, let alone a whole show. And my considerable entertainment dollars will be spent in a better forum. Still love The Panic Channel. Love, Teresa

Posted by: Teresa at September 13, 2006 05:52 PM

Yeah, I will go to a show, But I hope I dont get trampled in the stampede to the exits when it is time for Skunk boy to start singing.

Posted by: nezumii at September 13, 2006 05:53 PM

Yes! I am so happy. Lukas so deserved to win this.

Posted by: Rynalia at September 13, 2006 05:55 PM

I have lost all respect for Dave and Supernova after this. Janet Charlton nailed this one 2 weeks ago. She has a good track record in hollywood gossip and Dave was just trying to be a good PRODUCER and plug the leak before it impacted tv ratings. Pathetic!!

Lukas wasn't one of my favorites, but that is not what annoys me. His performances these last few weeks in no way compared to Toby's and Dilana's. Absolute bullshit. If Supernova had picked him from the start this was all a complete charade.

Storm in her radio interviews has already indicated how editing was used to rip Dilana to shreds. Other rockers made negative comments too but they were never shown. It was clear that it was a set-up to kill her huge momentum with the tv audience.

Dave have a look in the mirror. You're a blatant lier. No way I am buying any Supernova stuff or Panic Channel ever.

Posted by: Extratime at September 13, 2006 05:55 PM

Whats the deal? You say its not rigged. But why the Survivor commercial half way thru the show spotlighting Lukas? I sure didn't see one for Tobi or Dilana.

I lost a bit...... okay alot of respect for the show over that.

Posted by: Disgusted at September 13, 2006 05:56 PM

Spending time with my little one is what I had planned. I said I hadn't planned on going. I don't have anyone here to watch my baby unless my mother flies up from LA. lol. :)
Gettig into ARCO for concerts isn't bad. I've been to many shows there. Great place for concerts. Not a bad seat in the house.

"His theory was, Lukas is "modern rock" now that the "kids" are listening to The Killers, Panic At the Disco, etc."
Posted by: lisa at September 13, 2006 04:07 PM

Lisa - Im hearin' ya. Unfortunately I think your hubby is right, but the Killers etc etc are not what I call rock. In my book, they would fall into the pop/rock category.

I thought they would go for someone with a real rock voice too, especially when TLee is quoted as saying they want to do 'retro rock anthems' but obviously they don't want to do that.

HollyGoLightly - "I'd love to hear Dilana sing "Ballroom Blitz". Oh yeah! She would be awesome signing that.

The one I'd really like to hear her sing is Zeppelins 'Black Dog' - its a difficult song, but I think she could do serious justice to it.

Posted by: Kiwichick at September 13, 2006 05:59 PM

Awe, who the hell am I kidding... I know I'll end up buying whatever CD that Tommy, Gilby, Jason, and Lukas put out...

I'm such a suck up! ROFL...

Posted by: Tamm at September 13, 2006 06:00 PM

No way was this chosen beforehand. Charlton took a punt on who we all knew was going to win it.

Juke Kartel will be set now - and I'm happy for Toby in that sense.

But man are they going to be providing sub-titles on all their filmclips and at their shows because I have never understood a word Lukas has sung. If I wanted to listen to slurring words, I'd go to a pub.

Strip him of his makeup and piercings and do you think he would've won? Not a chance.

Posted by: Jenelle at September 13, 2006 06:01 PM

Kiwichick- Seems you are one of the only ones in here who remember that they were supposed to do retro rock anthems,,,,,,, Imagine Dilana on Comfortably numb ?,,,, Or Joe Cocker Feelin Alright ? or dozens of others.

Posted by: nezumii at September 13, 2006 06:02 PM

I think Super Nova made the wrong choice! I can not stand Lucas' voice. I can't understand him and he gets on my nerves. I won't be buying any of the music. I would have with almost any other of the singers.

Posted by: jeanne at September 13, 2006 06:03 PM

Are you there, Dave?

The show would lack spunk without you.

Posted by: Nicole at September 13, 2006 06:04 PM

DAVE! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER!

Is it true you'll produce Dilana's album? I read some spoilers and people told me you said you wanted to help her.

And I love you. In the beggining I thought you're just hot and nothing else, but now I think you're a really nice person and so cute! Thanks for presenting the show. Like you always says on the show, YOU'RE AWESOME, DUDE!

Kisses from Brazil!!!

Posted by: Samira at September 13, 2006 06:05 PM

shocking!! just like I thought:
first Magni, then Toby and Dilana and Lukus standing and Lukas becomes the man. Oh by the way Toby and Magni versions of the two songs SN did with Lucas were better than Lukas'.

Another season down - thanks Dave.

I look at it this way I don't have to like SN but I found 4 that I do in Dilana, Toby, Magni and Storm.

Posted by: Tim Continenza at September 13, 2006 06:05 PM

BTW who decided that they should all perform the originals *again* last night?

It made it so boring as it was seeing stuff we'd already seen. I thought last nights show was about the worst of the season - and I think only highlighted how great Storm was.

Posted by: Jenelle at September 13, 2006 06:06 PM

Hello Dave,
Well that was a complete loss. I would not spare a piss if they were on fire. Lucas doesn't rock, he doesn't even understand the concept! You rock, good luck, and too bad you are touring with Supernova or i might have seen ya. It's not your fault, and that's my opinion!!!

Dave, you know of coarse that CBS f-ed up during the show and show the winner ahead of time. You must restore your own credibility in this. Fans know now that the fix was in, and such pretence in not quickly forgiven.

A fan. Will

The singers last season were way better!
Good riddens...haha

Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at September 13, 2006 06:08 PM

What a fucking waste of an hour! I understand that the rest of the season has to go on even if they have made a decision, but fuck, find better actors!!! I gave no nevermind to the swirl of conspiracy surrounding this years show, but it was obvious that they had already made up their minds!! I can't even watch the end. Well I may come to the show, but at least I can see 2 bands and still get home at a decent hour!! Definately put in a word that they invite Magni back next season to reaudition for the House Band though, okay!! He looked and sounded great on stage with them!! Someone should maybe remind Gilby that it is called "A BAND" for a reason. But he is used to hiding behind a frontman anyway!!

Posted by: C- at September 13, 2006 06:08 PM

Nezumii - yep, she would tear it up allright. The impression I got from that quote was that they wanted to do new songs in the retro rock anthem style.

Now that was something I was looking forward to - still there are plenty of other bands out there giving us some good stuff. Rather partial to Audioslaves new one.

Posted by: Kiwichick at September 13, 2006 06:09 PM

That was the right fit.
No one else fit just right. I was pulling for toby, lukas or dilana. Honestly, i supported tommy lee pre supernova and I will after, same with jason and gilby.
If you want to bash on it fine, don't go see them live. be shits because your fav got runner up or 3rd.
but seriously think about it, theyre all walking away with a record deal.
every fucking one of them.

and if supernova DID make the wrong choice.
the only one to feel it will be lukas.

they need a new name...and i've just gotten through listening to Lukas singing "hey hey hey" and "ho ho ho" - and it all became clear.....

SANTANOVA!

just in time for the Christmas market! kinda like Satanova....only...cheerier, really...

Ummmm then why do I play his music everyday, its my Lukas fix. Puts a smile on my face as I head out the door to work. You think he can't sing. To some of us, his voice is gold. Then again I am a Rod Stewart fan from the beginning. Some would say his gravel voice isn't singing too. To me, its golden. Why would people bother to post negativity. Don't buy the music. Move along. If he had lost I would not be bashing the others. Each is unique and talented in their own ways. Something for everyone. That is art. And hell ya!!! We live in a free country where we can say what we like, and buy what we like and did I mention that we love you Dave. Thank you for the time you put into all this hoopla and what a fun ride its been. I will see Dave and TPC and now Lukas in Chicago in Feb. So glad I got those tickets before they sold out.

I have to give big props to all the ladies who made the top 15. They all busted their asses, especially Storm and Dilana, and gave 100% everynight to earn a job they must have deep down known wasn't going to be theirs.

How many men would try out for RS:'insert girl band here'?

Lukas deserved this beyond anyone else in this competition. I truly dont understand the people who go on and on about his voice, and hair! This guy is by far the most talented musician, he is level headed, and is so incredibly magnetic, with an amazing vocal range. Dave you are amazing too by the way!! I have come to be a big fan of you, through watching this show! You rock!

I didn't like Lukas at all until last night. He really sang the best I'd heard him all season. I thought "wow" that boy CAN sing. Anyway, I'm still disappointed that they picked Lukas, I really wanted it to be Dilana...but I guess it's a boy's club after all. :-(

Sigh, it should've been Dilana, or at least Toby. Oh well. At least it was the bottom three I was hoping for. I'm not going to this tour for them anyway. Well, I am, but I'm not as excited. Let's just say that I bought tickets like an hour after you announced that TPC is touring with them. If it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't give this tour a second thought.

Composite Dave!

Aaaaaaawwwwwwww ! Have been both looking forward to and dreading this night all summer long. The loser, the winner, the band, The End.

Yeah, yeah, an end is just another way of saying the beginning BUT! I didn't want R:SN to ever end. T'ankstoyou, Composite Dave. It's like it's been an awesome summer thanks to R:SN, and letmetellyou, I've been intimate w/ many a summer. Remember, y'know the way summers have a theme song? This summer's been my R:SN-abso-f-ing-tastic summer.

I'm thrilled for Lukas, proud of him even, he wanted the gig something bad and he worked for it. Typically, he wouldn't be a fellow I'd run into or meet in my circles, and I adore him. Dug his Verve performance both times, even better tonight, he's that passionate.

It's been a sensational, magical, ride, Dave, just one more night, one more song, see you play on "Suffragette City", say, "What's up you all?" again, another song, more talk from the couch, laughter, love and stuff . . .

XX,

I think that it is hilarious that people are so worked up over Lukas!!! Get over it - it is a TV show and a band - if you don't like them - don't listen to them. It's that easy...and remember what they say - negative attention is better than no attention - all you haters are actually doing him a favor - keep the buzz going - it'll do wonders for publicity purposes. I am over the moon that he won - he deserves it; he is a rock machine!!! Absolutely fck'n awesome!!!Love you Lukas!!!

ooooooooohhhhhhhh myyyyy gosh, i cannot believe that flat head alien won (lukas). DILANA should have won not lukas. dilana has that edge. dave, i bet if ya didn't have steve for lead singer, you would've picked dilana. i know because you even said that on supernova, and would even play for her new band. i know your glad not having to be on supernova and judging anymore. your back to your band and i am going to see you not supernova at the tour cause you are sooo much better than supernova. to be honest, supernova sucks, i only liked one song i've heard on the track, infact, i sort of liked it. be goood. love ya

Oh my gosh, our Canadian broadcaster either screwed up bigtime or the show was screwed up. We watched the finale and for the first 25 minutes is a recap and Brooke is still wearing the previous night clothing. 25 minutes of bullshit.

Then we come back from commercial and Brooke has a red dress on, Lukas is performing a song half finished. No one seen Magni get eliminated, or bottom 2 performances. We got roobed bigtime, what a total dissapointment.

Heya!! Thrilled!! Cannot wait till Vancouver!

Any bitter people out there dumping a ticket for Everett and/or Portland.. gimme a shout!

Bianca and Teresa - I live in Sac myself and I will deal with traffic and lines to see TPC and then leave before the main act. Then a few nights later, I will be flying to Phoenix to do the same thing there. Why? Because they are so totally worth it!!

Wow, I haven't read through too many comments, but I am so happy! My sweet Lukas Rossi won! I guess it helped voting for 4.5 hours. If anyone has tickets for San Diego or Long Beach contact me.

LUKAS ROSSI I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Linda from San Diego at September 13, 2006 06:17 PM

I don't think it's right for you people to be leaving comments about how much Lukas sucks! Obviously your not any better or you would have been up there instead of him. Lukas is a great performer and it's not up to you to judge him...nobody cares if you go to the fuckin concert so stop talking about selling your tickets...get a life haters.

Posted by: Barbara at September 13, 2006 06:17 PM

Dave, thanks for letting me vent my outraged spleen on here. I needed it.

Im just glad that by watching the show, I got to see some amazing voices at work and Im going to be waiting for Dilanas album - that chick can sure sing!

Posted by: Kiwichick at September 13, 2006 06:18 PM

I saw that Head Spin deal with the Survivor commerical also. I thought maybe CBS messed up like last week show overlayed the commerical....because what did that song have to do with survivor anyway? I am very satisfied. You know guys, if Tommy, Jason and Gilby just went out and auditioned singers and had chosen Lukas there would be no fuss. You would like it, buy it, or ignore it. If they did see the star in him (which Tommy did from Rebel Yell forward), what is wrong that he had a favorite like we all did? I don't get the conspiracy theory. I am the opposite of paranoid though. I see the glass half full! I just had my favorite win for once. Marty Casey lost. Then Chris Daughtery, so for once my favorite won. Can I relish in that for a moment before anyone else calls his great hair-skunk (don't you mean punk) or puts him down. Great make up, great clothes, cool moves. That is a star. Sorry, its what it is.

Congrats to Super Nova and Lukas & Dilana also.

Even if they knew the first minute they saw him, It was very improtant that they sent the rockers home in the correct order.

It would have really sucked if had not been done right. I think Tommy Lee made the Comment about Magni's Original to influence the voting because he wanted the final three to include Toby.

Lukas won because he fits the band not becuase he is better than Dilana.

The thing about Lukas is that he was already a rock star in his mind even when he was worknig at Hooters. I love it that he is such a pure rocker on and off the stage.

Rock On!

what the fuck?!?!

this is blowing my mind
Toby should have one

magni- needed to go home to his family
dilana- great voice, but the lryics are BAD
lukas- annoying as HELL, tried WAY to hard to be a badass, and is an emo-canadian

Posted by: natasha at September 13, 2006 06:21 PM

Dave, do yourself and TPC a favor, RUN, don't walk, away from this tour. Do you really want to be associated with this mess! Maybe you can set up a TPC/Houseband tour and leave SuperBlunder behind! Do you want to be associated with a group the general public (who didn't see the show but knew about it) is going to listen to and say "That's the best they could do?" We like you Dave! Please save yourself!

Posted by: Matt K at September 13, 2006 06:21 PM

Tracy I disagree with Lukas being the most talented musician, he is a horrible guitar player, does he play keys ? does he do anything but vocals ? but hey taste is in your mouth right ? Myself I thought Toby was the best fit for SN but I'm not in the band< I hope they have fun and Lukas can network.

Truth be told maybe dilanah got the best deal, Dave to play some tracks on her record and gilby's ear in the studio.

I was just happy to have rock on tv; my wife and I have a 17 month old little girl so our concert days are curtailed for a little while, some of the performers and performances on the show I'd pay to see but didn't have to or try to get a sitter, so cool, rock on tv.

If there is another one of these shows I think they should do an all girl band or a female fronted band , like the go-gos or hole or someshit, that would be cool.

Posted by: john at September 13, 2006 06:21 PM

And lets not forget the opportunities that lay ahead for all involved tonight. They have had the best exposure given to them. Some will make it, others will not. But if asked none I am sure would take back this chance they had.

Posted by: Sue at September 13, 2006 06:21 PM

Following up now that the show if over..

I'm disapointed. I really am. I really wanted Dilana to win. I am happy that she'll be with the house band and I'll buy whatever music she puts out. I really wanted to like Supernova but I just don't dig Lukas, I'm sorry but I just don't understand him when he's signing there were only one or two songs that I could understand, this isn't a bash to his fans because thats awesome that he has fans, smashing pumpkins had fans but I wasn't one of them and he reminds me of the lead singer of Smashing Pumpkins. I will go to the concert, Dave, you'll be there. Storm will be there. Dilana will be there and I'll get to leave early enough to beat traffic, its a win win win scenario :)

Thank you for a great season, thank you for standing behind a show that rekindled my love for music and all things music related. I've been downloading songs (legally) all summer and burning my own mix cd's and it helped bring me out of a dark place. Thank you and I look forward to the next SpreadRadio Live by you or BEe Jellyfish (only two I've lisened to)

THE QUARTET OF SUCKITUDE IS COMPLETE! INXS sold 325000 albums with JD, can Lukas help Super No Go break 3250? That's if all 325 Lukas fans with no life, spending 24/7 online voting, exert that energy to buy 10 CD's apiece. I've discovered how to predict the winner each year, it's the one I hate the most consistently through the season; so far I'm batting 1000.

NOW, just what IF.... little Lukas had a cock twice the size of Semper Fi's? Wouldn't THAT be a drag? All that anti-gay swill and inarticulate rage... oh the INJUSTICE that you lack the power to accept people for who they are! The helplessness you must feel that you couldn't get the result that you needed, you poor angry foreskin!!!
Hopefully one magical day, during your lifetime even, the whole planet will fall into line and conform to your World View; women will sleep with only men, masculine "cool" dudes will front rock bands, and guys who choose to look like Lukas will be banished to an island out in the middle of nowhere.
Choke on it; it happened and a lot of people LIKE it.

Oh my God - people - it was a talent contest. And Supernova had a right to pick who they wanted. Maybe they made their minds up a few weeks ago.....so what. When you audition you generally have an idea of who you like and who might work and who just won't - that's the purpose of call backs. So they let the show run it's course and they had time and opportunity to see if the guy they - the band - liked would work out. They probably had several favorites throughout the course of the show and changed their minds several times. It wouldn't me normal human behavior to not favor someone or another during this process. And just what's wrong with that????

In regards to Dilana - she's an amazing talent and personally I think will be better off on her own. She can make an amazing solo career out of this opportunity. There are few women on that list of legends in rock in roll - she's absolutely a legend in the making. And come on - the opportunities for the faves on the show are still there - hell - they're taking them on tour with them. Storm, Dilana, I bet you Ryan and Toby and Magni will be part of that too....I'm happy for all of them!!

and Dave - you rock! Thanks for being a part of something that supports aspiring musicians. Obviously, from reading this blog, you can't please everyone all the time - but what you guys are doing is making dreams come true. And for those who were paying attention, you're offering everyone a free rock-n-roll clinic. I've been working in the biz for a long time - and I've witnessed a lot of crazy behavior based on insecurity and ego, and I have to say it's nice to see guys as successful as the four of you, who are already standing on top, reaching down the mountain and helping others up. You make me believe in the power of a dream. Thank you Dave, that's an amazing gift to give.

****Seeker at September 13, 2006 02:53 PM****

Couldn't agree more with Seeker in that ^ post.

Dilana would have been much more enjoyable fronting this band. She can sing, you can understand her, she's unique .. she might just outshine the rest of the band though. Can't have that now can we?

Supernova or whatever they end up being called will do one tour and fade away ...

Nice of Gilby to offer his services to Dilana ... wonder what that all entails, eh? ... heh ... I'm thinking Dave's services will sell more records though.

The LEAST they could have done was give the runner up a freakin vehicle for craps sake ... bunch of stooges ... fuck 'em with barbed wire for being such idiots.

I thought it was pretty funny that the commercial right before they announced the winner had Lukas singing in the background and then showed him singing (for the new Survivor show). Hmmmm. Anyhow, I think Dilana and the others are better off; they aren't stuck with Supernova, Suave Porn or whatever they will be called during their 2 month tour. Thank goodness the HB, Dilana, and Dave will be there too. Are any of the others going on the tour?
Thanks DAVE!

Posted by: Whatever at September 13, 2006 06:24 PM

That was a blast! It is great to see that the finalists will all be winners. Lukas, while not my personal favourite, stood out from the get go. I wish them all the very best. As a marketer, I am intrigued and fascinated by the ability of a band to have a 'sell out' tour without any well-known original material and with a front man who has only had a couple of months exposure to the market. RS:SN has been a very interesting experiment. Now go and have a great vacation!

Posted by: Caroline69 at September 13, 2006 06:25 PM

So glad to hear that Rockstar will be back for another season. The DJ of the rock station I listen to had announced that the show was not being renewed. I'm happy she was wrong. Can't wait for next year. I'll miss you in the meantime! Hope to see you on the tour.

"""LINK TO LUKAS"S PREVIOUS MUSIC"""
Hey there, for everyone who would like to give Lukas a chance, if you haven't already heard his previous stuff this is the BEST link to download tons of songs. I guarantee you his voice is awesome on these, simply awesome.

http://www.lukas-rossi.com/?cat=4

"THE BEST LINK TO ALL ROCKSTAR VIDEO PERFORMANCES"

There is no doubt in my mind that for reasons too strange to fathom his performances on TV were muffled or something. The downloaded videos are way better than how it came across on TV. Here's a link,

http://idolforums.com/index.php?showtopic=440779

Just check out the music link above especially, you will be amazed, like all his fans were when we listened to his stuff. You will see he is a great choice for Tommy and the boys.

I'm disappointed that Toby didn't win, but I DO tend to look through myopic Aussie glasses:)

I hate reality tv shows, but I really have enjoyed Rockstar Supernova - and I'm OLD! (well relatively)

Congratz to Eden Gaha (sp?) on a top show as well.

People - don't whinge so much...

guess the family gig to see y'all ain't gonna happen - they might as well kept z. toby or dilana would have given these old farts a chance at a come back but luckas just needs to find a bottle of white or black hair color and decide who he isn't

Posted by: Elder53 at September 13, 2006 06:26 PM

Well Dave, I've converted into a Panic Channel fan due primarily to Rockstar. Love your band immensely. As for Supernova, well, Toby was my first choice, and Magni, like I said on MSN will always be in the music business, he is way to multitalented not to be. Let's just say I'm happy the boyz didn't choose Dilana. Lukas is young and moldable, he has time and the right teachers to learn from, so hopefully Supernova will add more cities to their tour, like perhaps London,Ontario..we are just mere 2hrs from Toronto...HA HA..we'd all buy tickets here, it's College Town Canada didn't you know. We have not one but four Colleges/Universities here....bring the lads to Ontario for a booty call would ya? Love you, Love Supernova,Love The Panic Channel....
signed with affection....Tracey xoxo

Yep, sounds like a FIX to me. Lukas gets played on a commercial during the show and none of the others did? Dave, if you say you have no clue what people are talking about or that we are wrong, then maybe they kept YOU in the dark too.

And I thought they were gonna bring back all the rockers on stage one last time. Phil went back to see the finale, and I thought for sure they would have had them all come back on one last time.

Posted by: T at September 13, 2006 06:26 PM

Maybe all the haters won't show up for the and Lukas all to myself. Ahhhhh one can dream can't they? Having rock on my TV all summer was the best. Thanks Dave for giving us a fun summer.

Posted by: Sue too at September 13, 2006 06:27 PM

supernova will find out as they begin their tour, that they made the wrong choice, maybe before, Lucas is a good singer, not as good as Dilana or Toby, mainly because is range is limited, I forsee performances not unique but pretty much the same, a good voice, but no real connection except to himself. By range I mean a connection with the band, the audience and something that keeps them both coming back for more. Dilana had that, I looked forward to her next performance and also with Toby but with Lucas I expected what I saw..................

Posted by: LuAnn at September 13, 2006 06:27 PM

WAs it me or did anyone else see the survior clips during the show featuring Lukas??? That was a give away to us that wait until show time to see what happens..........

Dave, as always... keep on keeping on!

Hellraiser

that just ticked me off tonight. What fucken botched job Global did.

I was sitting there wondering where Brooke had been since she was wearing the same clothing as yesterday 8|

Shoot to commercial and back again to half way through Lukas' song, then on to Dilana and Toby.

Where the fuck did Magni go? They didn't even have the decency to show his elimination

We got ripped off in TO!!!

Glad I watched tho. And I actually liked the last couple of songs :)

Posted by: Serafina at September 13, 2006 06:28 PM

If CBS messed up the commerical how is that a fix? The show was taped earlier. When they played the survivor commerical out of order is that a fix? They knew before tonight who won people. It was taped remember? It wasn't live for gosh sakes. I think that was a simple blunder by CBS. Am I right Dave?

Posted by: Sue at September 13, 2006 06:29 PM

The spleen venters should just fuck off and complain to anyone who gives a shit. I don't. Why even care when it's not your final decision. Besides, what do you think DN can do to help? Zip, zero, nought. As for the band, we'll all see what they come up with and I'll make my own judgement from there (and keep it to myself). Anyway, Dave, TPC is dope. Hope you guys can come to New Zealand at some stage. The Rock radio station plays plenty of your stuff so I can still get my fix at work!!! Keep crankin.

Okay I was in denial and like whatever about the spoiler and the BIG MOUTHS. Hey it's all good...Great show, great year, I was sucked in all the way.

Dilana has what it takes to make it and now with the help of Gilby. I hope that to be binding and rolls with this project on producing Dilana.

As far as the band...1 year, 1 album, then poof..gone.

Dave, chop chop and get this upcoming tour over with so you can take care of the antsy TPC clan.

Y'ALL ARE KILLING ME! 1st Velvet Revolver moving at a snails pace for the sophmore album and now waiting for The Panic Channel to come even near our cities (well mine that is)...stop the insanity! :P

Take it easy Dave and rest!

umm this was the most inticipated finale of the summer...and global completly fucked it up. im SO dissapointed and let down. Before the break there was the final 4, during a commercial the show pops on out of now where to Lukas performing and all of a sudden there are only 3...when the fuck did Magni get the boot? Its obvious someone, somewhere screwed up...and it was obvious part of the show was missing. NOT IMPRESSED with global right now. I don't know if I want to invest my time watching rockstar ever again.

oh. and Dilana should have won - it shouldn't have been based on votes, however: yay because Lukus is Canadian (and so am I)!

I am going to go buy my tickets now that LUKAS GOT THE GIG! I can't take my eyes off of him!

Posted by: Critic at September 13, 2006 06:30 PM

Dave,

I have to say I am disappointed in the final selection for the lead singer of SN. They better turn his microphone up really loud so he isn't drowned out by Tommy playing the drums. Lucas would have been my last choice out of all four of them but it was the band's decision. I think they were in a no win situation if they picked Lucas or Dilana after her melt down. I have to say I don't think I will be going to see SN concert unless I know for sure that TPC will be in the line up. I will probably stay for the house band and TPC then leave. BTW - my four year old son loves TPC cd. He was listening to it in the car with me while I took him to the doctor's. I had it kind of low and he was like Mommy turn the Rock n Roll up. It sounds better louder. Got to love him!

Enjoy your time off!

Hey Dave. :-) I am absolutely ecstatic. LOL I may never get this smile off my face, again. :-D I’m going to be seeing LUKAS and TPC in Vancouver on February 19th. How (happy blue streak) cool is that? LOL *dance, dance… bop, bop* Things couldn’t have turned out better. :-) I guess this means Lukas can afford to pay his cell phone bills, now. LOL *grin* This is just so freaking cool. Boooooooooooyah! :-D

"I am from Australia, and it's 10:40am here, and I am at work, so I couldn't watch the live result. Am I right in believing that Lukas has won? While he was pretty good, I don't think he will last long in the public spotlight. People should get sick of him pretty quickly, I know I did over just the course of the RS:SN season. Anyway a bit upset my boy Toby didn't get the gig, but I am sure it's not the last of him..."

No, Michael, the show hasn't aired yet, but has been filmed this morning. So, the people that attended the taping this morning already know who won, and felt compelled to open their big mouths and spoil the show for everybody. Worse yet, just because Dave opened this entry for comments, people still felt the need to spoil it further. Guess Dave should have left it closed so the children couldn't misbehave. So, now that we all know Lukas is the Crown Prince, I feel compelled to throw in my $0.02. And if y'all don't like my opinion, keep moving along to the next comment. I'm very glad Toby, Dilana and Magni didn't win because this means they can go on to establish successful careers without taking the time out to play with "The Band Previously Known As SN". I don't see the band being long term (a year, maybe?) I'm sorry, but I am just missing the "Lukas Love". Nothing personal, I'm sure he's a nice guy, I just don't like his singing style. As many pointed out, I can't understand 98% of what he's saying. Even if he was "selected" out of the starting gate.....meh. I've enjoyed the summer of Rock Star, the webisodes, Dave, etc. "BPKAS" ("Bupkus"??) has every right to pick whom they feel is the best singer for their slot, just as we have the right to not like the pick. This is corporate America, and if it weren't, there'd be no show. Best of luck to "BPKAS" and Lukas. I'm just pissed off that people had to spoil it before the show aired.

Posted by: electricladee at September 13, 2006 06:36 PM

Thanks Dave for this avenue. Wow, I can not believe what I have been reading here. Like someone said...IT"S TELEVISION...MOVE ON PEOPLE. And if anyone is surprised by the outcome how about what Dave said after the first performance that Lucas did, "why haven't I heard of you before" or something like that. Look at his performance last night/Sunday's taping. Did you not see the difference from that and the entire season of the show?
Looking forward to life after the show around this site. Enjoy your week off Dave.

Why is everyone so mad about ukas winning? Supernova knows what their doing, give them some credit.

Lukas rocks, he is perfect for the job, we all know it.

Well, we didn't have any problems watching the show. And while my pick didn't win....WHO CARES!!! Didn't we all have a great summer of watching some of the best performances with some great songs. THANK YOU DAVE for bring the ROCK to primetime TV. I just hope they bring it back next year.

Posted by: Shane at September 13, 2006 06:37 PM

I don't pay much attention to most television. I'll catch the occasional show here and there. But early on I saw the first episode of this show and had a mental image of the winner instantly. Kind've like a premonition or vision. I know it sounds weird but that's what happened.

In that vision I saw Lukas Rossi winning this. I knew all along the type of singer they would need to front this band, even though a few might've worked otherwise. And by the time it got down to 5 people, I knew ONE would win but ALL would tour!

I think Supernova sounded great and like they were supposed to immediately once they came together as a band. I really like most of the artists including Storm Large. She seems like a really great person. I hope everyone on the show that can does well. I know a few people have cd's out like Patrice Pike (here in Austin!) and this show just helped their national popularity and I think that's great. Many will use this show as a vehicle to go where they're going. They wouldn't have fit Supernova at all (Zayra comes to mind) but sounded excellent doing their own material.

I didn't watch the first season. But Rockstar is a great vehicle itself and it can be very interesting for years to come. And even if one season has a band that you don't care for, you can always check it out the following year and see who's in need of a new band member. There are many things that seperate this show from a show like American Idol. Bravo on far less cheese factor!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO <3 you Dave :)

Do people hate Lukas? What the hell did he ever do to you? I happen to think it was the right choice. If you don't want to listen to him, don't, plenty of people will. Go listen to Ryan Star's new CD. What a bunch of punks.

NOOOO!!! MY BEAUTIFUL ASS LOST!!!

That's it. That is IT! I want to move to Australia!

It was a great ride while it lasted though. See ya next summer, Dave! (Does Fuel still need a lead singer?)

Posted by: ALP IN FL at September 13, 2006 06:40 PM

Oh yeah, and I'm looking forward to the RNSN show. but mostly to see The Panic Channel!!!

Posted by: Shane at September 13, 2006 06:40 PM

Well...as someone mentioned about the singer "fitting" with the band. Absolutely, they picked the best one for the job. LOSER title that is!!! I liked Jeff's SUPERDUD for a new band name! They are all old f*cks and will only tour this once...then it'll be all over! At least Dilana, Toby, and Magni can go out on their own and make something of themselves! Skunk boy will rot with the rest of the farts!

Glad I didn't buy my TPC/SuperDud tickets yet!! I was on the fence about it! Wanted to see who won. Saw TPC once already...it was AWESOME!!! BUT, I can't sit through an hour of Skunk Boy giving a blow job to the mic just to see your pretty face Dave. I'm sorry!

Posted by: Ticked at September 13, 2006 06:40 PM

You know, if Dilana had won I would not be on here trash-talking her to Dave. I might express disapointment but I would be getting on with my life, shows over, nothing I can say would change it, etc.
Lukas won, get on with it. Trash-talking and insulting names will get you nowhere. Move on, check out his music from the link I posted a little earlier, see what all the hype has been about, educate yourself as to why so many love him. Then you can speak and people might want to listen.

Posted by: AngelEyes at September 13, 2006 06:42 PM

so I found out who won thanks to the ahole spoilers on this board but it eased the pain of seeing my man Toby get shafted to 3rd.
when I saw the decision and saw that the band was going to play I said..okay, I've hated Skunkboy all season but I'll give him a chance. I set my remote down and I listened. and was revolted by what I heard AND saw.
his singing is...barely singing. his prancing around the stage is so lame.
all SN or whatever they call themselves now can help to get from him are some sold out shows in Canada, maybe, and a contract from Maybelline.
All I can hope is poor Jason gets his ass back to Voivod where it belongs as his musical reputation hangs in the balance!
And Dave,..thanks for giving a real artist, performer and singer like Dilana such an amazing opportunity.
Just waiting on the Toby Rand CD now as well.

I think this was the first time a reality show made me feel old. As a music major, I do listen to all kinds of music. I could understand the commercial appeal of Lucas with the younger generation however I just could never get him musically. Believe me, I tried because I try to appreciate music as a whole. I guess when I was first listening to the tracks that SN was introducing, I got more of the old school classic stuff. I don't know if that made me think of having an older person to front the band or what. Dilana and Toby were my faves in the final four. Dilana just reminded me of a Stevie Nicks for this upcoming generation. Toby just oozed appeal with his talent. Looking back, Lucas is a good choice since SN deems him good. However Dilana gets a great deal in this with the talent of Dave on the album and Gilby helping with songwriting. We may still get a little Stevie (pre-pop). I just look forward to more of any project you touch, Dave. You are diverse and just brilliant to watch!

Posted by: stacerbell at September 13, 2006 06:44 PM

I'm happy SN picked Lukus, I am looking forward to hearing Dilana, Toby and Storm's albums..I will buy them in a heart beat...
When will the finale be posted on the RS:SN site...as Global fucked it up and cut half of it. For next season...try not to let it air on global!!!

WOW!!! It sounds like some of you have a bad taste in your mouth over Lukas winning. If I were given the choice between Dilana & him I would choose Lukas strictly because he can actually write a decent song and he isn't quite the drama queen Dilana is. Don't believe me DL some of his solo stuff. As far as many thinking he isn't a "great" singer look at the bands that the guys in Supernova came from. Personally I like Vince Neil, but I wouldn't call him a fantastic singer. Nor would I say the same for Hetfield or Axl Rose. Lukas has that "IT" factor that is vital to a band succeeding. He has a look and a strut and quite honestly he has the CONFIDENCE in himself to carry this off. I watched every episode and Lukas was cocky at points, but he never appeared nervous. Also he was unafraid to do songs that no one else wanted to. He gave his first choice away on many occasions including "Comfortably Numb" to Dilana which she never did anyway. Oh &one more reason I would never have used Dilana....How on earth can she call herself a Rockstar & claim to NEVER have heard either "Behind Blue Eyes" or " Won't Get Fooled Again" How do you play rock music and actually have the balls to say I have never heard that song.? I mean really.

Posted by: Tino at September 13, 2006 06:46 PM

Count me disappointed. I will not be buying a ticket to see Supernova. Even if they had subtitles so we could understand what Lukas was singing. Dave - you're a champ for offering to play on Dilana's album. She's such a talent. Way to go for supporting her.

Posted by: Wendy at September 13, 2006 06:48 PM

We got ripped off worse in my neck of the woods.
Had to watch 35 minutes of recap reality, commercial, then return to find Toby finishing his song, Magni nowhere to be seen, down to the final 3, never even saw Lukas or Dilana perform.
Biggest fuck-up of an editing job ever. I was so looking forward to Bittersweet Symphany again, that was one of my favorite performances, and Zombie. Still can't believe I didn't get to see any performance except the band at the end AND I still stand by my earlier opinions that HEY, HEY, Ho Ho song just has to go!

Posted by: AngelEyes at September 13, 2006 06:51 PM

Ok I am going to say it again - can people quit it right now with comparing Dilana to Stevie... there is NO comparison.

Do you think Dilana will be filling stadiums when she is nearly 60? I don't think so.

People forget Stevie Nicks is also an awesome songwriter which Dilana well... we all know about that.

So quit with the comparisons. Dilana is Dilana but she is no Stevie. It is kinda insulting actually. :(

Tsk, tsk...Definitely think they made the wrong choice. This punk rock performer just doesn't come across as being in the same league as the rest of the guys. I know I won't waste my money to see them now. I would lose interest after the first song.
Should have chosen Toby. Now that guy can rock the house upside down!

I have to admit I'm incredibly disappointed - I really wanted to see Dilana front Supernova. Add insult to injury, Lukas was the only one I didn't like at all. I really don't see how he fits with their music or style. Who knows, maybe they'll have to call Dilana to take over when Lukas' voice craps out during the tour!

By the way, Angie and PhanTin, if the mush coming out of Lukas' mouth all season was actually due to "bad mixing" and him being "too close to the mike", then why did everyone else sound good - every week? He was CONSISTENTLY bad, and that is due to his weak voice and horribly weird singing style. Nice try.

I'm not sure that I'll tune in if there is another season of Rock Star. I think it's inevitable that the band is going to have a favorite way before the end and our voting is worthless. It's a flawed concept. It's only worth it if the fans get the final say.

Posted by: MJ at September 13, 2006 06:55 PM

Hey Dave

I sure am going to miss that beautiful face of yours on my tv 2 nights a week. I only found this site during RS/SN, but have been a fan for a long, long time. I can't wait to see it after the fucking insane arguments of Dilana and Lukas are done. Enjoy your vacation! If you don't get to Atlantic Canada for a tour; you'll have to come this way for a vacation. We have many celebs that come to New Brunswick every year for their vacations because we respect their need for R & R, and even the reporters don't write about them when they're here. We've got the warmest waters north of the Carolinas, nature to beat all and something for every thrill seeker. Convinced yet?

Love your white ass!

Dave, since everyone seems to be complaining, just wanted to tell you thanks for a great summer of music. Shows over, not only can we see the new group with a lead singer, we can get a dose of the house band, and some great performances by The Panic Channel. Why does everyone have to whine? It's all about the music.

Much love.

Posted by: donnak at September 13, 2006 06:58 PM

hey what the hey, my nice little diddy on the show did not come through, another message pop up instead of mine..........to make it short and sweet, Supernova will be saddened when their revenues drop off because of their choice of Lucas, with Lucas I expect the performance I see, with Dilana, especially Dilana, or Toby I looked forward to their performance. Lucas is a cross of Adam Ant and Billy Idol without the name to sell and a voice that is limited, one that cannot grasp an audience time after time and want them wanting more........................Dilana and Toby made me want to watch, Lucas did not and yes I voted..............

Posted by: LuAnn at September 13, 2006 06:58 PM

It has been a fun show, but SN is not an interesting band and will probably not live for more than couple of months. I think it is a musical suicide for you to tour with this garbage, so please do not.

Posted by: Izzy at September 13, 2006 06:59 PM

BAD BAD MOVE!!!!!! Lukas just doesn't have the voice to cut through the music, his voice won't hold out for long, he mumbles the words, terrible!!!

They won't last anyway so I think the best person won because the others have more of a chance of making it without the band.
The crowd booing shows that the choice was a bad one.

Posted by: Me at September 13, 2006 06:59 PM

I agree with Semper Fi, I did not like the bands choice but it is however their choice. And I would go to see the show to see TPC cuz they rock and Dave is so awesome to watch playing guitar. Plus I hope to see Dilana rock with them. I do not think anything was "fixed" that's just the way the cookie crumbles. I am going to miss seeing Toby and Magni perform though, hope when the show comes to my town they are with the bands, and ready to rock.

Posted by: Michelle at September 13, 2006 06:59 PM

OMG!! This show is rigged! Supernova (or whatever their new name will be) actually chose the person they wanted. The nerve of them! No wonder every one is so filled with hate tonight. What were they thinking?

Posted by: melinda at September 13, 2006 06:59 PM

He's a good singer but he comes across as a bit of a dickhead.

Good on you for supporting Diliana she rocks!

Posted by: kel at September 13, 2006 07:00 PM

I'll be curious to see how much these venues empty out once TPC and Dilana/House Band leave the stage. You're cool and all Dave, but you gotta admit that Janet Charleton had it right. The fact that this was decided so long ago makes me feel like an ass for voting, but seeing Dilana every week was cool.

Posted by: Marcus at September 13, 2006 07:00 PM

PREDICTION

Lukas doesn't last the first tour.

OPINION

I would have rather seen Supernova (or: The Band In Question) as a trio than see Lukas stumbling around on stage like a buffoon.

Posted by: Cally at September 13, 2006 07:00 PM

OK I am Canadian but Dilana was still my fav., Lukas was my second choice though so it's all good. Yes a Canadian did it again....of course here in Ontario something got fucked up and Magni was just gone after a commercial break! Did he perform? Did anyone see what the reaction was when they sent him home first?

Posted by: Kim at September 13, 2006 07:01 PM

Hey Dave,
Nice job on the show. Guess that know nothing Charlton just got lucky huh? Seriously, you're right it's totally up to SN who they choose and why but what you don't seem to get is that when people call the thing rigged they don't mean that. The problem is if the choice was made prior to the show even starting. Let me put it this way: If SN had gone on stage week one and said...here's our new lead singer Lukas now we're gonna spend the next 12 weeks kicking these other guys off one by one...do you think you'd have gotten big ratings? Me neither. Misrepresenting the show as a "contest" if it's not is, for me a problem. I don't know if the fix was in or not, I noticed some weird stuff like Lukas getting vocal coaching instead of the standard critiques and JC's spoiler came out when there was like eight people left so...big coincidence but whatever. I am pretty sure about one thing though if there was a fix you would not have been told. No need for you to know and every reason not to. So I believe you completely that as far as you know no messing around occured, Mark Burnett on the other hand...him I trust not at all.

Posted by: partisan at September 13, 2006 07:01 PM

I know SN picked who they wanted and think will be the best for their band. I am disapointed, as is my husband. For some reason we just don't "get" lukas. We got the other singers and the final 6 were UNBELIEVABLE. we will not be buying or seeing SN. And we would have with any of the other 5 in the final 6. I loved the performances, and the house band!! So Rockstar did do it's job 95% for me, it really did entertain me!! I do feel let down with who SN picked. But I do wish them all the best of luck.
Hopefully toby, dilana, and magni will have cds out soon for us other fans of rockstar!!

Posted by: nutty at September 13, 2006 07:02 PM

Not too sure if anyone else caught this , but just before they announced the winner they went to commercial break. The commercial was for Survivor and they had Lucas singing his Head Spin in the back ground....ummm oops they just gave away the winner.

Posted by: Darkette at September 13, 2006 07:03 PM

At first I was upset that the tour isn't coming to Atlanta, but now I'm pissed that Lucas won and not Dilana. Lucas can't sing. I can't understand anything he says. Anyway, I could care less if SN comes to Atlanta, I would waste my time or money on Lucas. I am sorry that I won't get to see Panic Channel. Maybe on a different tour. Love you Dave!!

Posted by: Leigh at September 13, 2006 07:03 PM

Well....it will be a great day in America when Dilana sells more CD's than SN.

Is it just me or does anyone else think Lukas sounds like he has his balls in his mouth?

BUT, now I find myself checking out only his performances on YouTube. Or hearing his vocals after the show is over.

Great choice.

Also...Canada seems to be developing a trend. Interesting!

40% percent of the viewing public is apparently 2 year old children with dillusions of grandeur and quite narrowminded and tempermental. Luckily there are a lot of political slots to plug these winners into.

Congratulations Lukas. You were obviously the best for SN and even with MB leaving 90 percent of your compliments on the cutting room floor you still did shine through. Seeing how fans of some of the other rockers are conducting themselves I doubt we will see their favs in any meaningful way beyond the rockstars tour.

Enjoy our victory and pity the bitter ones.

This just proves the conspiracy theory. I think Dilana should have won.

Anyways, I think she is going to do a lot better than Supernova is going to do with Lukas on board. I think his singing is not that good and he was awful last night but Dilana rocked. Now, I have never been a Dilana fan, but she was far better than Lukas. I certainly won't be buying any records, and I know a lot of ppl agree with me.

And what were they talking about that he got the most votes last night. I belive I saw Dilana with the most votes....

Well anyways, I think she's better off without supernova (or what the hell they are going to name the band) So maybe this turned out for the best!

Lukas was a great choice. All the contestants were good. He just stood out. Grow up people...go cry in your soup and get a life. Everyone gets attached to who they want to win...but doesn't mean you have to bash who actually wins.

WHAT THE FUCK!! This show is rigged!

Looking back there's so many coincidences that have been contrived to led to this outcome.

FUCKING BULLSHIT!!

Supernova (or formerly Supernova) is the worst thing that could have happened to music. Pitiful!

I'll be seeing Tommy with Motley Crue & Aerosmith on the 21st! I'm sure that whole show will kick ass!!!
Congrats on another GREAT show! You know you're the only reason I watch!!

Passes some cheese to Shannyn. Here, you appear to need it.

The aftermath of a show called rockstars looks like a pack of pecking hens. I keep seeing a bunch of over the hill grannies chewing cud while sewing and gossiping. When did music become about that? Must be this american idol generation of voice critics. Oh well, being opinionated must fulfill people who have little else going on. Vent away couch critics.

Posted by: Freddy101 at September 13, 2006 07:14 PM

WOW, already 192 auctions on Ebay for Supernova tickets. It appears that the only ones that are selling are for the Vegas show. I'm won't be surprised if the number of auctions increase.

I didn't think this was rigged, but it now appears as though it was, and Janet C. was right.

Ok, so Storm and Dilana are touring with the house band, and Dilana is getting a record deal out of it. What is Toby and Magni going to get? Besides the car for Toby. I like Lukas, but my pick was Toby.

Posted by: Erica at September 13, 2006 07:16 PM

Amen baby!! If Lukas could not sing...he wouldn't have made it this far.

Posted by: Tom at September 13, 2006 07:16 PM

Yeah, why don't people here understand that if he can't sing, he wouldn't have won? Supernova is not a bunch of idiots, it was their choice, okay? Theres nothing you can do about, so stop trashing Lukas.

Posted by: Charli at September 13, 2006 07:17 PM

of all the supernova songs performed only lukas sounded good. dilana next the others sukt

LuCuss fans best develop some thick skins, it's only just begun babydolls ... heh

Posted by: Cally at September 13, 2006 07:18 PM

THANK GOD DILANA "LOST".

Here's the deal. SuperNova is not good. Very very not good. Lukas is unintelligible.

This is a fake band with a fake singer from a reality show. You gotta know the press is just gonna be drooling to pan this "Monkeys" act first chance they get.

And having Dilana open with the HB? Are they INSANE! Dilana and the Hb will make SN look like a garage band by comparison.

LOSING is the BEST THING that could have happened to Dilana. Face it, there was NO WAY Tommy was gonna pick a chick to lead his band.

Insiders have told me that Jason was actually crying because he wanted Dilana so badly and couldn't have her. Then after they played and were all satnding with Lukas, Jason looked like he wanted to puke.

He was thinking, Good lord, I had a chance to play with a Superstar singer and I get old prancing marble-mouth?

Ugh.

Posted by: Mitchell at September 13, 2006 07:18 PM

why do you people think dave gives two fucks if you're unhappy about who won?

the votes speak and that's bottom line. lukas may not be your cup of tea but clearly he's someone's.

Posted by: hot canadian taco at September 13, 2006 07:18 PM

Dave, if you read this...please know that some of the other rock websites are very positive. I am pretty sure what is being sold on ebay...will be snatched up quickly. Plus...I think people bought tickets just to sell once the winner was announced. Smart move on the sold out concerts

Posted by: dave at September 13, 2006 07:18 PM

You know, parts of the show were missing from the 8:00pm showing of the finale here in Toronto. It got pretty damned confusing. I guess Global TV realized that, because they are showing it again now when something else was scheduled. So I am now figuring out what the hell happened and am enjoying performances that weren't on earlier.

Posted by: arwen at September 13, 2006 07:19 PM

Well now, it looks like Miss Janet Charlton did have that inside information afterall. She stated on her blog two weeks ago or so that Lukas was the one to win. SuperNova dropped the ball to not have Dilana lead. She's got range and stage presence and IS about rock and roll. She did get kudos and way to go Dave for offering your efforts to be in her up and coming album!! Your stuff rocks Dave keep up the great work and passion for it;)

Posted by: doveink at September 13, 2006 07:19 PM

dilana should not be held back by that music anyway...she is too different..and talented for that

Posted by: benhed at September 13, 2006 07:19 PM

Can you imagine Lukas performing SN's "Lights On" song that Dilana sang with them? LOL! What are they thinking?????

Posted by: MJ at September 13, 2006 07:20 PM

Lukas is a Rockstar!!
Now get on with your life and leave Dave alone.

Posted by: Jonny at September 13, 2006 07:21 PM

Where the hell were the other rockers?? It would have been great to have been treated to a couple of encore performances. Nevertheless, they should have at least been invited and introduced. Perhaps they were and the show ran out of time...how bizarre is that? Certainly the show could have pulled equally great ratings with a 2 hour finale. Did you catch at the end how obviously there were a couple of other performances with Supernova that happened when the show was taped but were just eluded to in the finale. Overall, the finale was not a climax but a big letdown....

Posted by: Jan at September 13, 2006 07:21 PM

It's all markets! Look at last year's Rockstar. Mig should have been picked, but since INXS is from Austraila and so was Mig the market wouldn't have been big enough for big profit. Having the big markets make money is what they wanted. I am sorry but its true. Everyone is out to make money. It was funny that the final four came down to markets. Look Magni from Iceland small place came in 4th, Toby from Austraila a bit bigger place came in 3rd, Dilana from the US which is the biggest market, but that is where Supernova is from and there will only be one big market, and finally Lukas from Canada, Canada will back up one of their own just like JD and they can feast of 2 big markets to make lots money. That is just my opinion that's it.

Posted by: DCourvoisier at September 13, 2006 07:21 PM

dilana will make it farther without them.....grasp this concept

Posted by: benhed at September 13, 2006 07:22 PM

I think Lukas is a great fit for SN.

I heard that Magni, Toby, Dilana and Storm would tour with the Houseband. I sure hope that is true.

Magni is so fantastic with the Houseband. I would really want to see them make an album together.

Thanks for a great season. I loved this show.

I wish SN, Panic ch. and the Houseband would include Reykjavik on their tour.

Posted by: Iri at September 13, 2006 07:22 PM

Lemme get this straight.

SN wants to FUCKING FOLLOW Dilana and the HB? Are they insane? How does marble mouth follow golden-pipes?

The reviews will come in saying Dilana and the HB were insane and SN blew.

Posted by: Mitchell at September 13, 2006 07:22 PM

Chuckles. I just slotted this entire blog into a chat program and chose a high pitched female voice. LOL. You have to give that a try. Listening to the whiners with that voice is a flipping riot. [Passes the popcorn].

Come on Lukas fans, where are ya?

We're getting drowned out by these bashers over here, LEND YOUR SUPPORT!!!!! GO LUKAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bashers, beat it, go cry somewhere else, no one wants to sit here listening to you cry your eyes out cause your rocker lost. Boo hoo, get over it.

Posted by: Charli at September 13, 2006 07:23 PM

Fuck me that last tune It's All Love was great that shouldn't have been running through the credits the 5 cliche song should have been the incomplete song.

This is funny they made a big mistake yet you already bought tickets.HaHa!Who really made the big mistake?I don't know what fucking planet you are on Rossi was the number one overall vote getter by far. There are a bunch of easily downloaded programs that even an idiot can use to run popularity on the web and Rossi wasn't in the bottom 3 ever.Sorry that you are misinformed.Try thinking outside the box.I know it's hard to do but what the hell give it a shot.

Dave who gets the most stage time? How's that work?I really only want to see you and Lukas.Well also Magni and Dilana and Tommy.Oh and the house band and Storm. If you fucking bring Ryan on tour though I will not be fucking happy with that.I am a big Saturday Night Live fan or I was back in the day but if I want to see that shit I'll got to a taping of the show.

Posted by: KeithMoonLives at September 13, 2006 07:23 PM

Ok,I knew it.I just knew they were gonna pick Lucas.I knew Dilana would be there to the end as well. She is one rockin' bad ass chick.Gotta love her.Great performer, great voice and just so unique.Toby had the best (male) voice IMO,but he just wasn't the one for SN.He will be freakin' great with another band behind him.I will buy any CD's that Toby and Dilana put out.I think Dilana would have rocked the Hell outta SN,but I really think she was too good for them.I think Lucas is a great choice. He is also unique and with some fine tuning,he will be awesome.Head Spin is a killer song and I love it.I loved watching him perform it.I can see the general vote here is against Lucas, but I think he is a sexy little freak!!! As far as the other guys,Tommy is a great drummer.Gilby's guitar skills fail to impress me. No one can be DN-NO ONE.As far as JN,I think he is a little too full of himself. There are way better bass players out there.I wasn't very impressed with any of SN's songs, really.I remember at the very beginning of the season,I thought it sucked for the most part, but I got hooked on it.So,bla bla bla...everyone has an opinion, right? I really dig Lucas, and I hope they put out some killer shit.I can't wait to see what Dilana does-you rock babe!!! Finally, to Dave...when are you coming over??? I have a whip with your name all over it baby!!! =^.^= MEOW

Posted by: LunaWolf at September 13, 2006 07:23 PM

Yeah, how could they say that Lukas or Mr. Fungus I like to call him had the most votes. I thought Dilana was sitting down couse she had the most votes. This show is obviously bullshit. You did not reveal who really got the most votes. Assholes.

as for the results of the contest, i'm happy with the way it turned out. the last 4 rockers were the best. i think lukas and dilana had the most edge but lukas has better writing ability. i mostly wanted dilana to win so that i could hear lukas go on his own with his original stuff. i hope he gets a chance to do writing with supernova or whatever their name will be.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

My final comments on Supernova - YUCK!

I am glad I waited on buying tickets til after the finale cuz I ain't buying no fucking tickets to see them but would LOVE to see the house band - who are so much better IMO - and Panic Channel. How about Panic Channel goes on tour with the house band and loses Supernova somewhere? It's not just Lukas - SN doesn't impress me with their songs and music - and I didn't care for Lukas to begin with. I love Jason, Tommy & Gilby in their past works/bands/music - but not in Supernova. I am looking forward to Dilana's future CD. I woulda been happier with anyone fronting the band BUT Lukas. His performance always looks the same - likes he's having convulsions or seizures. His singing always reminds me of Billy Idol.

And as to what I think of Gilby's comment to Magni - being a lead singer is being part of the band, not just fronting the band. Ask Jason how he felt about his years with Metallica and how he was treated - he wasn't treated as part of the band. Gilby needs to sing in key with Lukas cuz they suck together.

Dave - thanks for a place to comment and vent about the show. I do hope you find some better talent for next summer's show. Somehow I can picture members of Supernova back looking for a new singer or other band members. Feel free to pass on my comments to Supernova.

Yeah, guess your right Freddy. I mean, I spent the hour after the show calling friends to talk about it, and listening to some of Lukas's music. lol, I had the volume cranked so loud my neighbours actually came over to complain. So I guess other fans are still celebrating.

you know...for all the people on here baggin' on Lukas, there were a ton more voting for him. He did get the most votes last night.
as for raggin' on Dave...whoa ! What the hell did Dave do ?!!!
I think Lukas fits well with the guys of SN, with the sound and the look of SN.
I for one wish them luck and I have my tickets to see all of em, HB, TPC and SN, in Montreal in January. Rock on Dave !!!!

Posted by: Jen at September 13, 2006 07:32 PM

The band's new name will be TOXIC WASTE, Lukas fits in well. Wooowww, his vocals on the last two songs of the night were so OFF. What the hell happened???????????? well nothing new maybe...

I think all the chemicals he is wearing are must be his eating up his vocal chords.

Best of luck though, it will be needed.

Word of advise for Dilana, don't accept Gilby's offer for help...

"In 1994, Gilby Clarke was let go from GNR as other members felt his songwriting skills were inadequate for their future projects." (This always gives me laughs hehehe, specially when Gilby was giving expert advise in the songwriting session).

It's just all too clear listening to their songs, they are so cheesy and cheap.

Best of this show..... The House Band, their pure talent shines thru.

Magni and Toby, you were both awesome, no doubt you will do well in whatever you will do.

Great show, watching the first hour of recap showed how much entertainment this, way to go Dave.

ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: RockON at September 13, 2006 07:33 PM

I don't understand why some people are surprised by Tommy Lee's choicec tonight. I mean you had to be blind and without a pulse not to see how they all fit together. Lukas is an AMAZING performer. Charismatic, emotional, yet raw and you can't help but be drawn by his incredible arrangement skills. I'm so glad my instinct served me right. Now those tickets I bought early on - running on faith - will serve me just right!

Posted by: Linda at September 13, 2006 07:34 PM

I think the guys didn't select Toby because who could stand cake in the face after every encore!

I liked Lukas best all season so I'm glad to see he won.

It's been fun.

I just payed double the price for tickets because I didn't want to buy before Lukas was official. Lol. I knew this would happen should have went with my gut instincts. Another 2-3 days and ticket prices are going to triple where I live. Demand is going out of control.

Disgusted...
I saw the Lucas commercial for Survivor halfway thru as well but remember both shows are Mark Burnett shows, and the RSSN was filmed earlier today. And, the "headspin" on the commercial was from last week so technically they could have added the footage after today's taping or they could have done one for each of the final four from last week...I just thought they tipped their hand a wee bit soon.
Rigged or not, I don't care I had Ryan, Lukas and Dilana as top 3 in week one. Toby came on over the last five weeks and took Ryan's spot...I mean remeber Tommy's comments on Week One? "Can you say Rockstar?" And the one a few weeks later...check please? Whether they wanted him from week one or not, I enjoyed the rock and the rockers.I will be a Dave fan...I will follow Ryan, Storm (dave any truth that ya'll did LADYLIKE today?), Magni (who totally rocked tonight's performance--anyone else even try Jimi Hendrix?), Toby and Dilani.
dave I do suggest something be done with the voting if there is a RS next year...one vote per person, show the vote numbers....that way there is none of this b.s.about the vote doesn't count...however, if they want their vote to count, go to AI...if they want ROCK, then come back to RS.

Posted by: SharonW. at September 13, 2006 07:39 PM

Well I gotta say we are disappointed. We would have been happy with Toby but really fell in love with Dilana the first night. We have never really liked Lucas's style. In my opinion he looks as though he is having a seizure on stage when he performs, I can't understand what he is singing 1/2 the time and he's got this holier than though attitude about himself. I'm hoping that supernova does something about his dancing and makes him sing so we can all sing along with him. I LOVE SUPERNOVA MUSIC that I have heard and it would be a very big disappointment for him to ruin it with not being able to understand him. I spent 2 hours online last night voting for dilana over and over and over.......2 LONG BORING HOURS....LOL....so where we're y'all? Sooooooo....now i'm going to go and listen to some Dilana music from her Wonderfool CD and then some Panic Channel....and go to bed...G'night All!

I pretty much agree with that. Dilana & the HB WILL blow SN off the stage. But I like Lukas. He'll help them a lot, IMO.

Good on 'em all. Hope Toby signs with someone spectacular. Haven't heard Juke Kartel yet -- maybe they're good enough to blow up on their own now.

whoa people...Lukas wasn't my first choice either but I'm willing to wait and see what the album sounds like. As for the show being 'rigged' or slanted towards Lukas, I pretty much figured he had the gig the first time I saw him. It sounds like things will work out positively for all of the final 4 which is cool.

I just hope i never have to see that self text-messaging piano humping Honda winning jack ass ever again. You know the one.

good season, kept us entertained and the blog blew up towards the end with lots of lurkers and such. Pretty predictable end with Dilana and Lucas being the last two standing, I think most people picked the two of them from the beginning anyway. Toby was pretty much dead on with his comments.

as for that lady who said the press photos had been taken..and she had the inside info. she put her money on the favorite anyway. it would be different if she had said that Magni was going to be the winner since he was a darkhorse, but picking dilana or lukas was hardly insider info. I could have gone on my site and put up there that insiders tell me that Navarro will have some kind of jacket with no shirt on and called it a skoop, thats how obvious her pick was.

im more curious now on how the name & lawsuit shakes up, as well as if we see a 5th member added to the group in Magni for rhythm guitar so Gilby can just shred

Posted by: EmpyreLounge at September 13, 2006 07:41 PM

Those of you who are bashing the "complainers", "haters", and "whiners":

Get over yourselves. This is a blog where opinions are welcome. People got pulled into this scam that is "Rock Star:----" and voted their hearts out, rooting for their favorite week after week. It's their right to bitch if they aren't happy with the outcome. Of course it doesn't change things, but at least people get to vent, and there is nothing wrong with that. I agree that some people are a little too intense, but that is what makes things interesting and REAL. If you don't like it, I suggest YOU leave. This isn't a "Love for Lukas" blog.

Posted by: Sharon in Austin at September 13, 2006 07:41 PM

what am I missing here - Lukas was in the bottom three but selected by the band on the most number of votes? Perhaps I missed something in the translation.

I'd also like to know why Dilana WASN'T selected. So much emphasis is placed on so many elements but we're left with a decision that wasn't justified at all.

Lukas - all the luck in the world to him but I cannot make out the words that guy sings - he's all mumble. Doubt I will be watching that space.

Dilana, despite her frailties and the intended focus on that, was an extraordinary performer. I never failed to get goosebumps. She never failed to deliver. I hope she rises above all this to the greatness she deserves.

We saw lots of promises last year with Rockstar INXS .... and we're still waiting for the outcome .... so Dave as EP of the show ... let's keep momentum on that mentoring.

Posted by: maverickchick at September 13, 2006 07:42 PM

I'm not too fussed Lukas won. IMO he was the third best (behind Dilana and Toby) but hey, good luck to him. I don't care much for the songs anyway, but the album should be interesting.

Loving the Panic Channel album though, you are the best axe man out there at the moment Dave!

When are you touring down under?

If you look back at the webisodes, you'll see that all the rockers made nasty comments about everyone in the mansion somewhere along the way and Lukas was one of the most obnoxious of the bunch right from the start. Hell ... I'd like to strangle my husband a few times a day and I love him. heh .. and I wouldn't hesitate to tell that to the New York Times.

Tommy must be fishing for an excuse to choose Lukas. I thought he was cool at the beginning but after last night show dissing Magni - He's just a punk!

I personally have no problem with lukas haters, whiners giving their opinions. They have been giving them all along after all. I'ts amusing HOW they give them and what those opinions are. There seems to be a lot of bigoted and incredibly narrow/simple mindedness afoot. Being upset your favourite lost is understandable. Being a moronic ass is another matter.

It was a great show this summer, but I can't listen to a whole concert of a mouthful of marbles. Forget it. Even with the offer of the rest of you on the ticket.

My hope is that by February, they realize the mistake, and change it up. I'll get the lawn tickets to see ya.

Lukas did'nt diss Magni, Tommy Lee dissed Magni's performance of When The Time Comes.

Posted by: Bloatation Device at September 13, 2006 07:58 PM

And another thing - Dave you are the shit for even putting up with these people. I don't know how you do it.

Keep rocking. Can't wait to see TPC this fall!

Posted by: Angela at September 13, 2006 08:00 PM

thats pretty funny, i didnt realize at the time that tommy said lucas got the most votes last night, maybe he ment throughout the show since he was in the bottom 3.

dave - did you hear Stern talking to Storm today. He told her you should put a shirt on since you have "man titties". I think that ass is still jealous that you got carmen and he didnt. stern sucks.

Posted by: EmpyreLounge at September 13, 2006 08:00 PM

Hi Dave,

Can't believe the boys picked Lukas, there is a lot of people out there that seem to think he won't cut it. When he sings you can not understand him.

Dissapointed that Toby, Magni didn't even get through.

Anyway, can't wait for your next round of Rockstar.

Posted by: Annie at September 13, 2006 08:00 PM

Dave, you must be so happy to have things return to normal soon. Seriously. No more bitching and griping. See, I love Lukas as a performer. Wanted him to win. But if he didn't I would have been happy for the others and supported Luke back in Toronto any way I could while he puts out an album.

But, some people bitch and mope and cry. That's ok. Britney will be on tour soon and they'll have plenty of tickets for them to scoop up.

Ciao bitches!

Be back here soon D. Can't wait for more SRL!

Posted by: Michael L at September 13, 2006 08:00 PM

Oh, yeah, it was Tommy.

Well, I think I've had enough of reading all the anti-Lukas comments. I think I've made my opinion heard, nothing else I can do but wait till ya'll cool down.

Posted by: Charli at September 13, 2006 08:00 PM

Gooooooooo.........Lukas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He wasn't my favorite from the beginning. I figured it would be Dilana or Magni. But he became one of my favorites and I picked him to win (but I knew it would be close w/ Dilana)
I'm looking forward to seeing SN and TPC in Orlando.
I love TPC and you Dave!!

YES.......I AM A LUKAS FAN!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Lisa at September 13, 2006 08:01 PM

Here is how it went, for those that haven't done the math yet.

Lukas was third from the audience voting. Then when the show was telecast, Lukas went right into the lead and held it for the rest of the voting. And he was 1st just like Tommy said. Dilana was first in audience and then fell to 2nd with the world vote.

Posted by: bajatango at September 13, 2006 08:02 PM

dude. I'm sure it's not your fault at all but LUCAS???? You can't even understand what the hell he's singing. You seemed bummed for real that D didn't win.

grr. Stupd T. Lee

Posted by: CarrieMonster at September 13, 2006 08:02 PM

Looking back at this season, I've come to the conclusion that Dilana was set-up to fail. That was a cruel what they did, but they acheived what they wanted in the end. Just brutal tactics, kind of makes me sick. I recall they always put Lukas in a nice light...no snarks..they gotta pimp their lead singer.

There was NO WAY Supernova would pick a woman to front the band. Boys will be boys...

Posted by: DeanCdn at September 13, 2006 08:03 PM

Freddy 101...I know what you mean..I don't care that people have their opinions and need to whine about their favorites not winning. The thing that makes me sick is all the wasted energy on hate...I can't stand that people come here and give Dave shit, calling him names like little babies..it just makes me sick. I guess I have to learn not to waste my energy on the haters!

Posted by: michelle n. at September 13, 2006 08:03 PM

Although I figured out weeks ago (Tommy Lee was so obvious) that Lukas would win, I'm still surprised he actually did. Aside from the utter insensitivity of the Lukas tune being used during a Survivor commercial (whose 'brilliant' idea was that? Burnett's? Almost enough to turn me off Survivor permanently) I'd hoped against hope that the band would have the cajones to want to be a truly unique band, fronted by someone with true stage presence and uniqueness. A band whose performance would have you leaving the venue shaking your head in disbelief that you just saw something really amazing. Instead they go the 'safe' route and pick a singer who will bring in the 13-15 year old crowd? What happens when they turn 16 and become much more discriminating in their musical taste? Though I wish Lukas well, I still can't fathom the band not chosing Dilana. Are they insane? She's good enough to get an offer to front the house band and get offers from you guys to work with her on her CD, but not good enough to be in Supernova? I hope she says no. I think she has a musical career that will see far longer longevity, and substance, than Supernova with Lukas.

Count me as one more person will will not buy a ticket for a Supernova show nor buy their album.

Saddened,

the pot calling the kettle black Freddy old mate

Posted by: aussiecherub at September 13, 2006 08:05 PM

One more thing. For all the haters. Everyone said the same shite about JD last year. He won't last. Being broke and being famous and rich the next second will go to his head. INXS will fade fast.
And ya know what? You were wrong then. You'll be wrong now.

Ciao bitches.

Posted by: Michael L at September 13, 2006 08:06 PM

I dont know how cruel it was for what they did to Dilana, i dont think they did anything to her more than anyone else. its editing and they needed a story and frankly their editing of her early to make her such a strong force probably kept her in the game longer and got her more of a chance to succeed.

in the end, lukas was the one that was the most dynamic on stage for what Supernova wanted to accomplish. nuff said

Posted by: EmpyreLounge at September 13, 2006 08:06 PM

I'm not sure I get why people think Dilana would win as the end of the show came around -- aside from her desperate pleas for acceptance, her original material was horribly WEAK and quite lame, and her timing with the band on the cheap trick song last week was utterly horrific. The house band ripped on her quite a bit behind the scenes apparently too.

I do believe she will be better off as a solo artist -- not because I enjoyed her as an artist -- but that way she will not be surrounded by musicians that can barely stand her.

The whole show did seem a little wierd to me though -- I didn't watch last year because I grew up with INXS having Michael Hutchence as a lead singer and prefer to keep that version of INXS in my mind. For this group -- only the top 7 seemed like they ever had a chance -- the other 8 just looked like fodder to make an actual show, or to make the cuts easier.

Is it really possible that out of ALL the people that auditioned for this show, THOSE were the top 15? yikes... I can think of FRIENDS of mine in bands who sound better..

Posted by: jKnox at September 13, 2006 08:06 PM

Talent, entertainment, fun...the show had these, sort of, this year. To Tommy I worked security Girls Girls Girls ehhm, Jason.. If I had my old Rickenbacker would love to jam with you, Gilby check out my bike building. Dave...Dave I have to say that when Lukas was kept when he should not have been I thought something was up, now I know it. Man I am old like these guys and was even there for some of the best Rock of my generation..I can sing better than him. Any time, Any where. Toby, Magni without a doubt the fronts for the band, Dilana girl your voice is solo material let it rock.

OK OK ENOUGH OF THE BADGERING!!!! PEOPLE
THE WAY I SEE IT IS THAT LUKAS HAS WHAT IS NOW IN, HE HAS THE WHOLE EMO ROCK GROOVE GOING. I FOR ONE WON THE BET I KNEW THAT FROM THE GETGO LUKAS WAS GOING TO WIN. HE TOOK DIRECTION WELL, HE DIDNT SELL OUT, HE KEPT TO HIMSELF AND TOOK CRITICISM ON HOW TO IMPROVE WITH GRACE. YES MANY OF YOU GUYS COMMENT ON HOW CAN THIS BE, THAT DILANA SHOULD OF WON, BUT I BELIEVE HER GREATEST DOWNFALL WAS BAGGING ON HER FELLOW CONTESTANTS....
WELL I'M JUST SAYING DONT BE SURPRISED THAT LUKA'S WON, CAUSE HE IS WHAT TODAY'S YOUTH DRESS, ACT, TALK, LIKE. AND TO BE HONEST IT IS WHAT IS HOT RIGHT NOW AND THAT MEANS MORE RECORDS BEING SOLD. SO DONT HATE!!!!!!!

Posted by: K-La at September 13, 2006 08:07 PM

Joined the fanclub and bought tickets as soon as it was announced. Can't wait to see TPC and Supernova(name change Rossi Posse, Rossi Rockstars, Lukatics, etc.?) Lukas Rocks! Boo-Yah!

Posted by: Ginger at September 13, 2006 08:08 PM

IMO, it was a great decision!! I came in my *thong* when Lukas sang Be Yourself. I guarantee that's something Dilana could NEVER do for me.XD

Posted by: RockON at September 13, 2006 08:10 PM

I just hope that SN is able to mold skunk boy uhm...I mean Lukas into something worth watching. If I buy concert tickets it will be to see The Panic Channel & Dilana with the best damn HB ever. Then Im outta there and I'll beat the traffic out of the parking lot!

Posted by: couture at September 13, 2006 08:10 PM

well I wasn't going to post any spoilers but seeing as everyone else has I don't see the point in not saying what I want to. I am not a fan of Lukas' I dont think he can sing he mumbles I can't understand what he s saying I was Dilana's fan the whole time even through all the bad publicity and I will NEVER buy a SN CD or anythng else they sell Dilana ROCKS!! and Dave love ya!! and please for the next rockstar can ya'll get a decent band?? becuase both bands have sucked but the show is AWESOME!! and so are you!

Posted by: Jessica at September 13, 2006 08:11 PM

also..
in response to the comments about not being able to understand lucas --- SO FUCKING WHAT?

can you seriously sit there and tell me you've understood every lyric that every artist you've ever heard has ever sung?

the fact that his style is UNIQUE is what sets him apart, and played into why the band ultimately chose him too I'm sure. If you think it sucks -- thats cool -- don't go to the show or buy the record -- plenty of other people will..

Posted by: jKnox at September 13, 2006 08:14 PM

Well said jKnox.

Posted by: Charli at September 13, 2006 08:15 PM

that was the most ridiculous choice ever. even magni would've been a better pick than emo-goth-i-can't-sing-so-i-scream boy. he's so freaking arrogant and so full of himself. THE GOOD NEWS! now i can make a profit out of my ticket and resell it for twice as much to some stupid 16y/o who OMG WANTZ TO SEE LUKAS SO BAD LOLOLOLOL OMG ROSSI POSSE!!111!

it's so much bullshit when the guys (tommy and the other two and dave, yeah, you dave) go "oh we love you so much, we're gonna back you up, yadda yadda". whatever happened to half the "loved" ones from the first season? haven't heard from them again. what's gonna happen to storm large and dilana? they're gonna disappear just as much. what salvages supernova with mukas in it is still tommy lee, because really, tommy lee is a titan in presence. way to go with the money-making. this has never been about music. it's been about getting idiots like us, internauts, to pay attention to something that would generate revenue and make an ass-kicking revenue out of it at our expense. it's hardly believable that our votes ever counted in the first place. audience reads in points and the more points, the more cash is invested into a channel. let's celebrate greediness and editing manipulation now. here's a thoughtful bird flipped at mukas for his 'winning'.

so, now everyone. let's go show janet carlson some love.

Posted by: opa at September 13, 2006 08:15 PM

Sorry, but Toby can't carry White Wedding. All his weakness' were brought up with his version of the song.

So happy for Lukas and the band. I hope it brings great things.

Lukas even made hey hey hey, ho ho ho sound cool. Way to go!

Posted by: Teamwork at September 13, 2006 08:17 PM

Go complain sonewhere else opa. Don't bash on Daves site, he didn't decide who won.

Posted by: Charli at September 13, 2006 08:17 PM

Yeah really ... we have a President that can't construct a complete sentence, why should they have a lead singer that's coherent?

Posted by: Cally at September 13, 2006 08:17 PM

I think once SN and Lukas actually start working together, SN will realize that it's a bad combination. And I think Lukas will, too. They just aren't right for each other. My prediction is that it will fall apart before too long.

Posted by: MJ at September 13, 2006 08:18 PM

HEY LUCAS...........Rocky Horror Picture Show called and wanted to know if you're done with their makeup yet?? Love, Teresa

Posted by: Teresa at September 13, 2006 08:18 PM

lukas won?? what a joke. dilana or tobey deserved to win!! lukas is not a rock star!! just because he wears the make up does not make him a star!! its a waste of time. the band and the world will regret it big time!! how pathetic.

Posted by: hayley at September 13, 2006 08:19 PM

I think that SN made the perfect choice for them. GO LUKAS!!! The bashers just have to get over it...it is done..finish...and there are many many happy fans.

Posted by: BN at September 13, 2006 08:20 PM

Why read the comments in a blog for discussing the finale if you don't want to be spoiled? You know it airs earlier on the east coast and you know there is a high possibility of spoilage in the discussions. IMO you only have yourself to blame if you got spoiled.

Posted by: Sonic Muse at September 13, 2006 08:22 PM

I agree BN, I'm one very very very happy fan except for one thing, I have to wait until they finish the album before I can buy it!:(

i don't think i bashed dave as much as i expressed my opinon on the matter. too bad you disagree, charli. booyah. i do think it's bullshit how they always say "oh we love you so much" and then you never hear from that person again. think suzie mcneil. think marty whatever his name was. they were "oh so loved" and where are they now? they've just been "ressuscitated" because of rs:sn, but before that, nobody was interested in them or whatever it is that they're doing.

oh wait. you might be one of the 16y/os. hey, wanna get a ticket?

Posted by: opa at September 13, 2006 08:25 PM

Yeah, I can not wait for Supernovas album. Its gonna be great. Lukas is a true artist, you can't deny that.

Posted by: Charli at September 13, 2006 08:25 PM

opa - a handful from last year has continued to guest during camp freddy shows...it isnt up to dave to help them get a career jump started...plus if i remember right, dave did play on marty & the lovehammers CD

Posted by: EmpyreLounge at September 13, 2006 08:26 PM

One more thought - although no car for Dilana (which REALLY sucks), you and Gilby at least made some offers to help. I hope you'll follow through on that, Dave. Although I'm reading lots of kudo's for her, it's tough for a rocker chick (vs. pop princess) to break through. Seriously - from Lithium to Roxanne she kicks ass. I'm sure you like your PC singer, but maybe bring her in to jam at some shows - or maybe with Camp Freddy. Help her get the exposure and give her some "name" backing. 'Cause now the show is over a 35 year old rock chick (no matter how fucking cool she is) singing with a bunch of musicians no one has ever heard of has has tough road... especially in her fucked up old truck!
Putting my money where my mouth is - I already bought Zayra's CD. Now going to order Dilana's old CD. Will also get the Storm single you just recorded with her when it comes out. And of course I bought PC's CD! Probably won't buy a Supernovaorwhatevertheyarecalled CD, but I will be at the show.

Posted by: LAmusing at September 13, 2006 08:27 PM

Opa, they pretty much have to say oh, we love you. What else are they gonna say? We hate you, never wanted you in our band, now go home? lol, it we funny, but not help their image.

Posted by: Charli at September 13, 2006 08:28 PM

wow - the finale was a bit "rushed". since MB produced last year's show and this years, i wonder why all the singers weren't brought back for the finale? they were all brought back last year. also why not mention that Storm is going to tour with them besides Dilana? Which other contestants are going to tour with them and how did Supernova decide which ones? anyone know?
