Usually there is a "podcast" link over in the red to the right of the blog...but it's not there right now. Maybe it's being updated or something. I am completely computer stupid, so I have no clue if thats how things work! Im sure it will show up soon...but you can subscribe to 6767 podcasts by going to your iTunes and searching Dave Navarro in the music store.

It says, "I have one but not by choice" from the holocaust survivor that Dave met on the plane. I think that's great. She had that big of an impact on you.

Great tat, Dave - it's great to see how much that conversation with the holocaust-survivor meant to you. My grandparents were survivors as well, but I was too small and sort of intimidated to really talk to them about the war... It is often part of school-education here in Germany to talk to survivors, though, and I know a lot of people who were different (in a good way) after those conversations. It helps us to remember what's really important in life, which perhaps should happen more often to all of us...

Thanks for the podcast, I'm gonna listen to it on my way to work tomorrow...

Posted by: Eline at September 17, 2006 01:45 AM

Thanks for the podcast - listening to it now and laughing out loud about the magical envelope - I can sooo relate to that. so here I am at 5:29am laughing hysterically because it kills me seeing that envelope and waiting to open it - I feel like I am looking for the golden ticket in Willy Wonka

thanks for the laughs

Eline - my in=laws were survivors too, but not survivors of the holocaust. They were survivors of living under a Nazi regime.

Ive had many talks with them about it - they were only 10 years old and being raised in Nazi Germany. They were terrified of the Nazis and had many atrocities committed against them as well. It really put things in perspective for me because we are often falsely lead to believe the German people were all collaborators in this dark era of history.

I made a point when I visited Germany of visiting Dachu and Plotenzee prison and was so very shocked to find out the real extent of the horrors both against the Jewish community and also the Germans themselves. It affected me very deeply and still does and I swore I would never visit another concentration camp ever again.

Posted by: Mrs Meat at September 17, 2006 04:49 AM

Ive often wondered why Ive never seen any documentaries about the terrible things that took place at Plotenzee.

Morning Dave...Morning All!

The new tat is simply gorgeous! I know that its obviously inspired by the conversation you had with the survivor on the plane back from Vegas, but my question is this...what purpose does it hold for you personally? Do you just not want to ever forget the effect she had on you? or maybe its a reminder to yourself (and others) how lucky we are to have the rights we do?...Im curious

Have a good day all!

Gorgeous tat, Dave :)

I can't see it well or understand it, but it looks lovely :)

Posted by: Soph at September 17, 2006 07:47 AM

Davd I love your new tattoo and that the woman you met on the plane inspired you to have that done.

I remember as a little girl I went to my grandma's seamstress and she had a holocaust tattoo as well. I was young, didn't ask to many questions but I was fascinated by it and that she had managed to make it out safely.

Tattoos are such a personal thing (I have two myself) and to think about having one forced upon you and for the reasons behind it like the ones both the woman you met and the one I met, are overwhelming.

I am going to a Darfur rally today in TO. Our world really needs to find some peace and harmony there is just to much craziness going on lately :(

have a wonderful day all <3

Posted by: Serafina at September 17, 2006 08:00 AM

Mrs Meat,
of course you're right - not every German was a collaborateur and not even everyone who feigned to be a Nazi was a bad person (famous examples are Oskar Schindler, Hans Calmeyer, etc.). The simple and horrible truth is that it was almost impossible during the Nazi-regime to be "different" in any way - people very soon started to dread even thinking "differently" in case someone might hear. On the other hand Nazi-Germany offered great rewards for "Arians" that were willing to collaborate within the system, so it's no wonder most people bowed their heads and many believed it all.
By the way - Ploetzensee wasn't the only prison in which countless people were executed for various reasons by the Nazis, they existed all over the German "Reich", sadly enough.

The important thing is never to forget how very easily all of it started and turned into the biggest and most expertly schemed mass-murder in the history of mankind. All of us should always keep an eye on something like that never happening again, no matter where on earth.
Dave got exactly the right tattoo, for that matter... ;)

Morning Dave. :-) Thanks for the CFR podcast. Only you could have a Night Owl like me laughing at 7 am on a Sunday morning. LOL I loved the “sexual Vader and “flying toaster comments. LOL Awesome tat, dude, and *taps heart* for the reason behind it. You’re definitely counted among my list of folks like the comedian Robin Williams where I say it’s lovely to see what’s possible with a person when the lights are on and someone *is* ‘home.’ You’re mentally alert, ‘switched on’ and you ‘get it,’ man. The eclectic mix of your humor, perspicacity and artistic gifts is a dynamite combination and a pleasure to behold. :-) Thanks just for being you, lad—you truly rock on all imaginable levels. *flicks Bic lighter in general ‘appreciation of Dave’* LOL ;-) I had a great time at the beach yesterday. No squid encounters LOL but I did snap some photos I’ll get up on my blog eventually. And, although I *am* ‘happy to see you,’ yes, those really *are* ‘rocks in my pocket.’ LOL I acquired some new pebbles and I’ve been ‘beaking’ them around my ‘nest’ into suitably aesthetic arrangements. ;-)

I loved what Elie Wiesel said in his book Night "to remain silent and indifferent is the greatest sin of all". I'm inspired by you. Sharing your story, the impact your experience has on you and finding your own way to humbly recognise and honor the life lesson your learned is beautiful. Bless you!

Loved your CFR! still rocking on the CD. Looking forward to your next project!

CONFESSIONS TO DAVE FROM A FAN OF HIS WORK;
-I dig the blog, and appreciate the gesture.
-The blog is addictive, but a large part of that stemmed from the interesting and often quite hilarious comments posted during the debacle that was ____ ____ _________.
-Initially my posts were serious in nature, but as other comments became increasingly humorous and irreverent, I became one of the major contributors to the irreverence. (irreverence=ART C.)
-I have had the honor of being contacted by over a dozen of your visitors, all telling me that they appreciated the humour and that it was "much needed" at times. I now have a few very cool email buddies, so thanks for that, Dave.
-I have been consistently tongue-in-cheek from day one, but on three or four occasions took the liberty of "coming to your aid" (though you hardly require that) when assorted posters made disparaging remarks about drug use, or your being a bad influence on their children etc.... I realized at the time that even THOSE posts were likely meant to be humorous, but couldn't resist the urge to fire back.
-I have been "guilty" of multiple posting on previous threads, but much of my reasoning was that the debacle of ____ ____ _________ created extenuating circumstances that would allow for a few days of general mayhem. (no disrespect intended)
-I was mildly surprised at the reactions of many of the regulars here (Family) who longed for it all to be over and to "get back to normal"... although I fully understand that sentiment, it carried the aroma of CENSORSHIP. I don't know about you, Dave, but CENSORSHIP scares the hell out of me. Once entrenched, the entire concept can very quickly extend into our personal zones... for instance, perhaps one day people such as yourself will not be allowed to have more than two tattoos, or to have anything other than their earlobes pierced. The very thought of that gets my blood up. (Tipper Gore vs. Jello Biafra... remember?)
-It is my assumption, Dave, that you have a very healthy sense of humor, and slanted toward the twisted, or DARK, side. I hope that you have been able to find time over the past few weeks to actually read some of the comments here, and I sincerely hope that you were not at any time offended by the often graphic, vulgar nature of the riffing, of which I myself have been "guilty".
-If you wish to contact me personally, my home email has always been available. If you don't mind an occasional irreverent post, and twisted wordplay, cool. If I hear from you directly, I will cease and desist forthwith and posthaste. Word! (sadly, I admit to thinking that you do not read many of these comments and do not personally contact many, if any, of your Family.... I am guilty of cynicism)
-I'm nearly finished here, so please indulge me a little further;
in my humble opinion it would be very helpful if you would address some of these "blog etiquette" issues and lay down some guidelines and rules for myself and other posters of the irreverent school of thought (I refrain from naming names out of respect and decorum). I respect you as a musician and increasingly as a human being, and rest assured that your wish is my command. This IS your site and I DO respect that.
I've heard that the chat area can be fun, and FUN is what I am after most of the time. (guilty of seeking fun = me)
THANKS for reading, Dave. Keep up the great work!
SHOUT OUT - yo Blou and gang; let's meet and chat some time.
(B'meister; email me at home, dude.)
SHOUT AT - WHAT'S UP SQUID? YOU'RE A NASTY FUCKER BUT I LOVE YA!
Sincerely,
have a great Sunday,
Art Carcass.

Dave, the tattoo is great. Her story is an example of how we can't always hide our pain and suffering. We all have scars from the past that aren't easily hidden, and hopefully remind us of how fragile life is.

This is the second time in a month that an entry on 6767 has made me tear up. The new tattoo is beautiful.

Posted by: Caffeinated Sue at September 17, 2006 12:02 PM

good Sunday, D & Fam,
Beautiful, meaningful new ink. I am trying to finalize my first one--pretty sure what it'll be and where. Hey, when you come back to NYC why don't you and Steve accompany Kristen and me to get our first ink--that would be historic! It has to do with NIN and the fibonacci series--are you familiar with that? It's really amazing... Thanks for the superfast podcast. Glad that MB (Duffdiver) and Robin (Peebs) got through--but you missed the best part, about Peebs' new tattoo! Ask her.

Have a great day, all.

Love,
Sue

Posted by: Sue at September 17, 2006 12:13 PM

Beautiful tattoo. Did you get it because of meeting the holocaust survivor Rose? Or is that co-incidence? Reading the posts that seems to be the assumption - if anything came to light into SRL or CF then I haven't heard that yet. I'm no one to comment I realise - and I'm only sharing an opinion - but it just seems ironic to commemorate her in that way if that's the case. I'll explain why I think that. Although the poetry of engraving something into our skin means different things in different cultures. Personally I also have a couple of tats, the first my Mum caught me with and then cut me off for 6 months as she was so appalled and horrified.. The words of my Grandmother that fixed the situation - she was the Great Matriarch of our family. Anyway point being - as jews we are not meant to have tattoos. Religion decrees that we must go back as we are on this earth ie whole and not disfigured or marked. It is therefore against our religion to be tattooed. So, when you look at the tattoos given to the victims of the Camps it was one more way of demeaning Jews. So to make that point about meeting her and her history with a tattoo is bittersweet. It is gorgeous inkwork notwithstanding. And entirely possible this has fuck all to do with the general assumption being blogged about - however when you click on the photo and it says for Rose... it's either that or Rose McGowan! :) Love. I wish I could put the pic here .. I don't think the blog takes pics.

Dear A.C.-
I respond directly on behalf of one of my most gifted children,Dave, who is very busy this day.
Your contrition seems heartfelt, and because I am your creator and can see directly into your soul, I hereby absolve you of any and all wrong-doings with respect to 6767.
After the death of your body, however, you WILL be held accountable for that package of pencil crayons that you shoplifted when you were in grade seven. I also take issue with your love of such nastiness as Glass Casket, Byzantine, Cannae, Lamb of God (how DARE they?) and other purveyors of music from the dark side.
(you will be spending an undetermined length of time in my special purgatory for ARTISTIC- TASTE OFFENDERS, and will be subjected to a non-stop assortment of songs from Dan Hill, Celine Dion, Corey Hart, Christopher Cross, and the newly formed group from the recent CBS television show that is now banned from further mention on this blog, unless mentioned by my gifted son, Dave.)
In addition, my child, you are instructed to obey the following ten commandments;
1.THOU SHALT leave the use of the term "ad nauseum" to Bloumeister from Montreal Quebec Canada. He has "vocabulary seniority" with respect to that term and this site. You are allowed primary, discretionary use of the word "puerile", provided you spell it correctly.
2. THOU SHALT no longer threaten Humboldt Squid in any manner with respect to this blog. At a time and place of my divine choosing, there shall be a day of reckoning for the squid.
3. THOU SHALT play at least two full Navarro compositions per day, for the duration of your Earthly life, as an act of pennance.
You are further commanded to accompany any guitar solos with "air guitar" in the nude. I shall show clemency and not command you to do this in public.
4. THOU SHALT make every effort to renounce the "dark side" and devote the remainder of your Earthly life to "golden light", "healing", "pyramid power", "tantric sex", and "poutine".
5. THOU SHALT limit thine self to a maximum of three postings per thread. Anything above and beyond this limit is banished to the chat room. If you are caught exceeding this limit, I will char your ass like a Harvey's burger.
6. THOU SHALT move to Brisbane Australia as soon as possible and form a rock band with "Darkside Cookie" ... the music must be pleasant in nature, the pre-amp drive on your Marshall JCM-800 must be kept below "4", and the lyrical content must be uplifting and of a spiritual tone. (e.g. "behold the little bunnies, innocent and fluffy... lift their hearts to Heaven as they die for rabbit stew") The word "Roo" should be incorporated into the name of the band.
7. THOU SHALT refrain at all times from engaging in verbal hostilities with other posters who dislike your words, opinions, and methods. "Turn the other cheek" means "let is slide", NOT "take a long hard suck of my ass, fuckwad" .... are we clear, Art?
8. THOU SHALT immediately purchase more Navarro merchandise. Owning all of his recorded work and attending every possible concert in Toronto Ontario Canada does not give you the right to claim credit for some of the moneys used to construct the Olympic-sized Navarro swimming pool. A minimum of five hundred dollars (U.S.) must be spent by Midnight tomorrow (Monday) on t-shirts, dolls, replica guitars, etc. in order to fully regain my compassion. My son, all sins must be atoned for, and you are getting a very light Godsmack on the wrist.
9. THOU SHALT never again make jokes that poke fun at my special son, LUKAS ROSSI. He has done his time in Hell, otherwise known as HOOTERS, and is now entering an epoch of great creativity and reward. Leave him be. He is busy perfecting his sonic pitch and articulation, and is surrounded by others who are among my greatest creations.
10. THOU SHALT announce any further posts/comments with the words "Tongue In Cheek Alert" ..... this will allow those among my flock who do not understand you or approve of your ways to easily bypass whatever it is that you feel you must say.
Now, GO IN PEACE, and start shopping!
(see commandment #8)
With stern compassion,
GOD.

**WARNING - GOING OFF TOPIC (AGAIN)**

Eline - what I learnt from my visits there was that mostly everyone suffered. What blew me away most was learning about the people of Dachu village. The camp was right on their doorstep and they didn't know what it was for a long time. When they finally figured it out and started slipping food to the inmates thru the fences the whole village paid a terrible price for their humanity. 400 German men, women and children taken into the village square and shot - all for helping starving people.

My in-laws have told me about catching and eating rats just to stave off death by starvation and about the awful retribution exacted on them when the Russian troops came in.

You are right, it was very easy for it to happen - such is the nature of politics. Unfortunately, its still happening in many different places all over the world.

**WARNING - GOING OFF TOPIC (AGAIN)**

Now I want to address the issue raised my Bloumeister.

The problem with chat and world time zones is that between you guys up there and me and cookie down here is that we would never get to spread the irreverence together. FUCK THAT!

If Sir Dave (SIR being my concession to DN arse licking) could change the chat room to a forum then we could stop graffitti-ing his blog. Everyone is happy. Except Sir D because he has to fuck around with his website.

It's not happening in the exact same way. Yes there are horrific hideous atrocities being committed, genocide goes on and it's unacceptable. But it has not happened in the same way since and to state that's the case is both wrong and fucking upsetting. Signing out. As this has nothing to do with CFR and is only upsetting me. Silky.

Here's Tom Green's blog entry at tomgreen.com

Check Out Dave Navarro's www.6767.com site!
Awesome. I met Dave at the taping of Carson Daly last night. He just wrote a nice blog at his site about The Channel here, tomgreen.com. Go check it out, and listen to his radio show that he does from his house. I think I may be taking some calls on his show at some point as well, and hopefully, we can get Dave by The Channel next week.

It was cool talking to Dave today on the phone. Clearly he is as excited as all of us around here, about the internet. The ability to program, and creatively control our own broadcasts, is exciting. It will be nice to sit down, and take some calls from you guys, on this topic.

go check out www.6767.com

thanks Dave!

I appreciate your very kind words, which have helped to assuage my hurt little feelings and the mounting guilt which has begun to eat at the periphery of my soul.
I have, according to the channeled Commandments, one further post allowable this calendar day. Rest assured, dearest sister of mirth, that it will be a doozy.

OH MY GODS YOU'RE SO FUCKING FUNNNY!
I knew if I was to sneak back here for a quick look I would get a laugh! As for the chat, Ugh, painful shit in there. There is an obnoxious guy called Bugmeister, whom I have a sneaky suspicion could actually be our friend Humbolt Squid. Either that or I am paranoid and I see him wherever I go! ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Dave, the woman that inspired you on that plane's daughter posted here on September 3rd and wished for you to contact her by email, if you would. If it is legit here it is for you to be able to contact Rose:

Dave - I am the shorter daughter of the woman you spoke to on the plane yesterday. My sister and I were with my mom when you and you manager met us all on the Southwest flight home from Vegas. You are really great for getting the word out on this to young people who don't know about the Holocaust and I think you're a sweet and talented guy. My kids would love to meet you and perhaps come see one of your shows. Please email me back -- even just to say hello.
Thanks,

Re: Dr Robert Ramsey (2003) writes that customer complaint handling is an important aspect of CSS, and that responding to serious complaints can be the quickest, easiest way to pinpoint products, services, systems, or employees who are not operating as intended. By tracking the effectiveness of complaint handling systems a reality check of an organisation's response times and capacity to correct mistakes can be gauged. Complaints offer an opportunity to find weak links that otherwise would have gone unnoticed until perhaps a serious problem redeveloped. Usually complaining customers are valued messengers.

Hi Dave

Great tat, very touching. From all the hype here she has not only touched your heart but ours as well. Well it touched me anyway ;-D

You would think that with the religious persecution and cultural differences that they experienced in that era, our generation would have learned. With what is happening in the world today history repeats itself, although there are some differences.

Maybe one day we will all learn to accept eachother for our differences and learn that war doesn't solve anything.

I'll shut up now.......

Great site and hope to catch Panic Channel and Supernova when we visit the US in January.

Love and Hugs to ya

Dave,

I know I speak for many when I say how much we agree with your reasons for getting that new tattoo. We should never allow ourselves or our children to forget what has happened.
But to add even more meaning to our convictions we should also never forget all the lesser known atrocities that have taken place, are taking place and unfortunately will take place right before our eyes in the future. Hitler was fond of telling his SS subordinates, whenever they expressed concern over the consequences of their actions, "fear not, does anyone remember theTurks?". This was in reference to the wholesale extermination of the Greek and Armenian populations of Asia Minor (Turkey today) by the Turkish army in the aftermath of the 1922 Greek-Turkish war of which my family was a victim.
(Ask my fellow Greek countryman Tommy Lee to tell you about the Turks). Not to mention the numerous smaller scale incidents of genocide that are happening even as we speak. Wear your new marking proudly, for it serves as a reminder to all of us of the need to be vigilant.

On a lighter note allow me to thank you for the great new TPC album. You've made a diehard '70s rock fan interested in Rock music as it has evolved today. Also as a resident of Toronto, thanks for your kind words about our city when you were here in August. I especially enjoyed Steve Isaacs’s pictorial account of your visit which lent it such a personal behind the scenes feeling.
This pictorial commentary and your spirit of "Taking it Back" entertainment/journalism are what bring me to a small proposition I wish to make to both you and to all your fans;
how about a TPC and fan based living journal of the band and it's members as it evolves through time? What I have in mind is a gathering of information, interviews, video, audio, etc. from all sources, both TPC and its fans (remember the power of the Web?), filtering it for accuracy (via the band or a collaborative band/fans method) and presenting the end product in a structured and complete way i.e. book type format.
The physical work can be done by fan volunteers (tapping into all that talent and expertise) and the result can be presented in a multimedia PDF format. This would be the band chronicle as it is happening with contributions from both the band members and their fans. It can be updated as events happen and posted on the TPC website for downloading and viewing.
The multimedia PDF format (as opposed to HTML) lends itself to repurposing as the band sees fit with minimal modification i.e. this one constantly evolving "book" can be
either distributed electronically (containing video and audio clips) or printed as a book conventionally. Obviously copyright and artistic control belong to TPC, the fans may contribute material of their own making (stories, video, audio etc.) surrendering their rights to the band.

Dave, I would love to hear from you or anyone else their thoughts on this idea.
Again, heartfelt thanks for all that you mean to us.

Bill.

Dave, Wow...I was in High School around the time of the "Ritual De la" cd came out..etc. I actually went to the Dachau concentration camp while in Germany. My friends and I went to Europe for two weeks and cruised all over the place and we ended up going there after hitting Mad King Ludwigs Castle. It was heavy. The whole place was leveled other than the place that was used to show the people the basics of the camp. What was scary was as you walked in the place there were barbed wire fences and watch towers..... as the tour guide spoke... he reminded people that the inmates were shot on the spot for trying to escape..... It was uncomfortable. I remember the UN sculpture dedicated to the people who were there. There were rows and rows of nothing (buildings that were knocked down) all that remainded were the foundations. While there where churches that were established after the fact....on the site. It was scary at the same time. If you ever get to Dachau while on tour check it out and you will see what I mean....

The Museum on site is the heaviest thing I have ever seen.........

There is a vistor's book, It's on volume 1000000xs by now..... but if you read through it there are people from all over the world who signed it.

I recall a similiar phrase written by the people.....

The phrase was.....

"Never again......"

"I am not into interspecies erotica" - Satan.
That is pretty hilarious coming from an entity with bright red skin, a horned skull, a long tail, cloven hooves, and terrible breath.
You are the direct result of interspecies erotica.
No matter, I have more important matters at hand.
Let us leave this area to the worshippers who shall soon be rising from their Davey Dreamy Slumbers.

God you watch too much television. that description of me is a human misconception. i appear in the form of my choosing. if you were the true god you would know that. again you are mistaken. beastiality or "interspecies erotica" was created by your heathen followers, not by me. personally i find it quite repulsive. don't blame me for every sick and wrong thing in the world. i take credit for a lot of things, but assfucking rottweilers is not one of them.

Posted by: eyeduswallow at September 18, 2006 02:16 AM

eyeduswallow, because you are human and you believe what you read. you forget the bible and its description of me was written by man not by God. you dream of me in whatever form is acceptable for your human mind to process and comprehend. that doesn't necessarily make it the truth. the supposed God that's posting here is an imposter, and his description of me is his human interpretation, not fact. don't be so quick to take things for face value.

hey there dave

tpc is on repeat mode on my ipod - just brilliant!!! one question, though: the keyboard (?) sound towards the end of "left to lose" reminds me pretty much of Killing Joke's "S.O.36". Intention or is it just me being such a KJ-fan that I spot bits of their influence in every other song?
And, please, if you're planning to tour Europe, don't forget to include Switzerland (country between Germany and Italy ;-)).

Now yur just being silly... besides if I remember correctly, Dave can block anyone he wants from posting and I hardly see that happening. But then some of us could say the same thing about "dumb shit from the same people..." Just ignore it if you don't like it, ragging about it only makes it worse, in case you haven't noticed...also makes you a target. Just an observation...

PEACE & LOVE BROTHA'S & SISTA'S!!!

Posted by: C- at September 18, 2006 06:22 AM

Dear everybody,
I remember when I used this blog as a place to have conversations, and a place to use as my personal journal, Maybe the reason I did was because I wanted DAVE to see. But, that was a year ago, and now I use the asylum as a place to have conversations, and my personal journal..this, too, will pass. I think maybe our friends don't understand, that, although Dave reads all of their tremendously witty comments, he responds pretty much only to questions directed at him....

The only other option I can see is if our new friends could give us the web address to THEIR sites, so we can come over THERE and have conversations that don't include them, and put our personal journal in their comments section.

I truly wish they would all join the community, cause the wit they display here would be a welcome addition to many of the threads over there.

love and peace,
jezzi(HI DAVE!!!)

Posted by: jezebel at September 18, 2006 06:24 AM

Jezebel - To respond... You're right i don't remember this site as your personal journal... but that should be okay. New posts to the site should be welcomed. Instead, because of "The family" new additions are ragged on and told to go away. This site is in no way limited to the topic of Dave's new tattoo, although i'm sure he feels very validated that he got a tattoo you all like and appreciate! Just because there are posts on here that "The fam" doesn't agreed with, does not mean they should start name calling...Every "conversation", I have gotten into I was told to "go to a chatroom",as these people continued their chatting. Perhaps if the topic isn't what someone wants to discuss, pick another... there are plenty to choose from. Also a note, perhaps if we were included into your community without having to conform to your rules, it wouldn't get so ugly. But unfortunately because i am married and don't want to discuss Navarros ass or tattoos, I am constantly ragged on here. Perhaps if the "conversations" were geared more toward music and less on DAVE, there would be more discussing!! Jezebel, don't think that i am singling you out, but it is an observation of your comment.

Posted by: C- at September 18, 2006 06:47 AM

OK, I wasn't going to respond but fuck it.

C:
The Family welcomes new people. There are many people that have joined in over the years, welcomed with open arms. We were all new at some point. HOWEVER, these people did NOT come in with nasty attitudes, personal attacks, asinine conversations to and from themselves, etc. and fill the blog with needless bullshit. They came in, chilled, saw how laid back and nice people were here and at the Asylum (formerly the Community) and then integrated into the group.

The only reason people were saying to go away is that this place has been, for the most part, a positive place for us to go, discuss Dave (yes, we DO discuss Dave as well as music as this is his personal blog--we discuss everything under the sun at the Asylum though) and believe it or not, form many friendships that we've carried outside of Dave's world.

If you're married and have so many better things to do with your time, then why are you here? I'm married too, and my daughter happens to be an active member of the "Family". Yeah, we talk about Dave's tattoos or whatever he happens to post about. If he plays a show we talk about that. If he hosts a charity benefit we talk about that. If he plays POKER, we TALK ABOUT THAT. See a pattern? Why don't you take some of that free time you have and read the archives and you can get to see what the "Family" talks about and how we interact?

Oh, and they're not "our" rules. The Family didn't sit together one stormy night around a fire and think them up. TPC and the mods/admins of the board all agreed upon the rules, we all follow them. Don't like them? Well, some people on the boards don't like some of them either but they follow them if they want to post there. Take it or leave it. Don't act like we're not including you when it's your choice not to register because you're such a REBEL.

Remember, YOU chose to join US, already in progress. We shouldn't have to change to accommodate your tastes and whims--if you don't like it, don't let the door hit in the ass on the way out. We were here before you happened along, and we'll be here long after you find another board to troll. And by "you", I mean the collective you, not just you, C.

~Sue

Posted by: Sue at September 18, 2006 07:36 AM

"Perhaps if the "conversations" were geared more toward music and less on DAVE"

What? Less talking about Dave Navarro on Dave Navarro's PERSONAL blog? That makes absolutely no sense.

If I want to talk about music in general I go to a music message board. Like the Asylum.

Posted by: Robin (Peebs) at September 18, 2006 07:54 AM

Well Sue, here is that personal attack that I keep referring to. I stated nothing in my previous post to insult any of your "crew" and yet here you are talking to me about my having nothing better to do. The LAST thing I need is you showing me your "pattern", because it is SO VERY obvious to see the pattern of conversation here. I came to this site as a fan of MUSIC, not just of Navarro, looking for an alternative way to pass my daughters naptime other than TV, and YES I got sucked into the WEB OF HATE, but you know unfortuneatly, it was more interesting than the talk of DAVE's whatever and how wonderful it is. It was also freaking hilarious. I don't "troll" sites, this was the first board I have ever posted to, and only the OUTSIDERS welcomed me, not any of the family. I have only ever been continually attacked, disrespected and insulted by the family, so I really am NOT looking to be accepted by them. Why? Maybe because I didn't I *heart* Dave Navarro at the end of my post.. Frankly, I guess when I came to this site, I didn't realize that Navarro was so vain he needed a website dedicated only to the postings of how great he is...silly me I actually considered that he may like to read to opinions of others, But obviously he only told a select few what his actual intentions were with this site. You keep saying you don't like what we post here, yet you continue to read ALL the posts and find in in your hearts to respond!! Noone EVER asked you to change anything...but perhaps you should allow others to discuss other topics no matter what they are instead of ragging because they are not what you want to discuss. Oh and by "you", I mean the collective you, not just youu, Sue.

Posted by: C- at September 18, 2006 08:13 AM

Peebs, please refer above, I have a feeling Dave Navarro did not start this site to hear how great his ass is!!

WHY he resurrected this blog. This the the second coming of 6767.
Dave is kind enough to let us all into his world, even if it's just on this blog. I think we should all show a little respect.

Posted by: Robin (Peebs) at September 18, 2006 08:25 AM

C, hon—you were INVITED to join in, by Jezzi but you said, “Also a note, perhaps if we were included into your community without having to conform to your rules, it wouldn't get so ugly. We all have to go by the rules.

No one is attacking you. I am sorry that you have such a bad opinion of this site, but I think most of it stems from the “outsiders--your words not mine—they are the ones with the worst comments. Most of the hardcore family members haven’t even been posting OR reading here too much lately, myself included, there are literally hundreds of comments I haven’t even seen. Additionally, there have been people hijacking posters’ names and posting nasty comments using their name and email address, again myself included, so maybe you’re seeing that.

Actually, I don’t know why I am on the defensive here because I didn’t start or participate in bashing people—I guess I just felt that Jez and our core of constant readers/posters was being attacked and was trying to explain.

We’re all fans of music, if all we talked about is Dave’s ass (and he isn’t so vain that he needs a site about it, he knows what his ass looks like) we’d have run out of words for that long ago. By the way, there’s a site called DAVE NAVARRO IS GOD so if it’s a question of fulfilling a vanity quota, he can always go there. Not that he needs to. But now you’re attacking Dave so you’ve probably opened up a whole other can so to speak.

This may be a waste of time to tell you, but there are many music fans and parents at the Asylum, and if you’d put down your sword, you might find that you actually like it there.

As soon as I read the tat...I knew what it was referring to - It's beautiful.
I would have love to have sat in on that conversation. I'm sure it was insightful. I can't imagine.

Posted by: zoodishbu at September 18, 2006 08:31 AM

Wow...I'd hate to say this but I'm going to. If this is your first msg board you've ever posted on..Maybe you need to first learn some basic netiquette.
and as far as people not agreeing to everything Dave does/says/music he plays..whatever your reference was...Not everyone agrees or likes everything Dave. I've spoken my mind about things I don't like. It's really no big deal. Just an opinion. Yes, everyone has one. Yet no one has to agree. :)
Maybe browse around in the archives..do some reading..see what Daves blog is about. If I'm not mistaken it is Daves personal blog and he can post whatever he wants here. I sure wasn't aware it was some general music chit chat blog.
There are tons of music threads in the Asylum..Head over there..plenty of room for everyone. Come on...give it a try..actually I don't think they need rules there..cause hey, most ppl are rather civil when it comes to posting.
If you want a good debate head over there....
again...I *heart* Dave..and I also...hate RS!
I'm so glad RS is over with!

Peebs - Whatever you have referred me to is fine, I apologize but I am just not going to go there and read something from 2 years ago. I'm sure it was a valid point. I'll be glad to read it here if you have it to say. Perhaps you CAN refer me to any disrespect that I myself have shown toward Navarro since my first posting not so long ago??? The respect should be shown to ALL that enter this site and this blog... not just to the select few that you agree with!!

Hi Family! Hi C!

Dave, you have a nice ass. It's actually my screen saver on my cell. Scissors in hand, tattoos all about. Sometime's I leave my phone open just so the screen saver will come up. Other than that, I get to see the beautiful artwork done by one of the Family (Sue, I think) of your hands in ropes. Also, Jezzi's background for her MySpace. Yes, quite lovely.

So, I'm not sure where the tattoo came about. Anyone care to enlighten me? Please?

Jenn, I think that's the one Deena did--I am SO not artistic!
Thanks though :)

Do you mean the new one? The story is in the Sept. 3 post.

Posted by: Sue at September 18, 2006 09:06 AM

Seems to me, from my position on the sidelines as an interested observer, that certain regular posters have made a huge emotional investment in their presence here as commentors (6767 commentators). It can sometimes then feel as if these regular posters are staking their territory ie by use of their right to reply / answer other people's posts. Please don't be aggro or abusive with me about this but that's just how it seeems. Personally I thought it was Dave's blog. I thought we were all in a pretty priveleged position to A) comment on it and B) have this interaction. I therefore also thought it was supposed to be LESS about the bitching and the aggression between posters/comentors and more about Dave and his connection to his fans. Dave - PLEASE can you set up some boundaries as lately on occasion it's unpleasant in here. Thank you. PEACE !!! Silky.x.x.x

so I went to the Motley Crue/Aerosmith concert at Jones Beach Theater in NY last night. And I was very disappointed that Tommy Lee did not do a drum solo, I hope he does when he plays with SuperNova in the Winter. I want to check out that show simply to see TPC, and TLEE.

and btw, way too much smoke/fire/booming crap. I could barely see through it. And I have 20/20 vision!! Dave, don't let TPC get sucked into all that extra crap, totally unecessary.

Posted by: Kate at September 18, 2006 09:14 AM

May I also just clarify for anyone who continues to feel that I am disrespecting Navarro by entering HIS site, that I completely respect and commend him for ALL his efforts in the MUSIC community. He has brought a great level of awareness to unrated and non commercialized music all over the world and with the exception of THIS season's SN show has done great things for music. I really don't care what Navarro has tattooed on his body or what he looks like, I care what he has done for the music careers of so many who normally would not have the opportunity to share their work. I am not sure peebs how you read my bashing of Navarro in my previous posts.. but again I am hearing to go somewere else, and here I am defending my comments that were AGAIN taken out of context. I apologize to anyone I have offended, but I still believe that we ALL need alittle hate in ours lives, even just for amusement. I HAVE gone back to all my previous comments to others and not ONe time did I get on and just bashing people, all of the comments were responses to being told to go elsewhere and called names for not saying what somone wanted to hear.
Diane/fri... whatever hun, this is the shit I'm referring to, and I won't even comment of your spelling in yor bashing of me. I have browsed, I have seen, and I HAVE NOT been anything but civil here today....yet I am continually being torn apart. Is this just because I am the only target for you at this time???

Posted by: C- at September 18, 2006 09:20 AM

INTERESTING debates, and an admirable amount of restraint from those who have been here longest.
I've been confused by the huge gulf between those who don't appreciate and those who do appreciate the "bullshit" posts (quoting someone above) ... it must be frustrating to be a long term 67er and see this t.v. show come along, boosting the comments tally into the stratasphere.... must also be frustrating to know that so many people who come here have been enjoying some of the sick/twisted humor.
I can't argue with Sue's post, however. (and I won't)
Rest assured that the trend is revealing the light at the end of the tunnel; the number of posts is dropping drastically, and the "bullshit newbies" are becoming bored.
It's a shame that some of your were offended; nothing truly harmful was intended. If Dave IS personally contacting some of you, that is fantastic. His life must seem surreal at times.
If Dave were to contact me personally and tell me to get lost, I'd respect that completely, and I wouldn't even challenge him to a guitar duel or anything.
Have a good day,
don't worry so much,
it's almost over.

C~ and this, your direct quote, is my entire point:
"but I still believe that we ALL need alittle hate in ours lives, even just for amusement."

I DON'T have room for hate in my life, that would be reserved for something drastic, like god forbid someone harming my kids. Not some inane comments from people I don't know (or even DO know) on a messageboard in cyber space.

lol, Art--you vs. Dave at Guitar Hero would be AWESOME, DUDE. :)

Okay, I now know. Wow. That brought tears to my eyes. Dave, I never really realized that I was so "into" the Holocaust and WWII. It has been brought to my attention by others that have noticed. When I go kill time at Barnes & Noble, I find myself locked into books of those times. Have you read "Night" by Elie Wiesel? A very short, powerful read.

I've always wanted to meet a Survivor from then. I can only "imagine" the experience and time you got to spend with that lady. I await the day I have a life changing
