Start It Over Here

Here is a new thread so I can keep up with you guys! I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MSN!!! Don't know what to tell ya! I'll know more when I get to work tomorrow about the voting fiasco. In the meantime, rant and rave all you want here... I haven't seen the show back yet but it sounds as though it is much worse sounding on TV than it was in the studio. I'll confirm or deny in the morning.

oh, look at me i'm first. tee hee hee.

Haven't seen the entire show yet, but Lukas was the first performance all season that made me sit up and take notice. Very very good.

No rant here.... yet ;)

Posted by: vicki at August 29, 2006 09:01 PM

hmm...almost midnight here on EST and still having trouble voting for Lukas. Got some through for Toby and Magni, but still no Lukas. Dilana hijack his voting window or something? Hehe, j/k but seriously, this is just wrong....hope you address that tomorrow on the show....

Posted by: Rae at August 29, 2006 09:03 PM

Oh Dave, with only 2 more weeks until the finale, this completely SUCKS. The timing couldn't be worse...oh, unless it happens next week! Please ensure this doesn't happen again.

Seriously, the bottom 3 at the end of the show tonight should NOT be read. Its inaccurate. Please flex your Executive Producer muscle on this one.

We know you have nothing to do with the MSN voting but please make sure that it is mentioned on the air tomorrow night that voting was down for the FIRST 1 1/2 hours!

I still love you and you're still sexy! Thanks for being so kind to your fans and listening to us bitch!

Dave, ya look great!

RE: my Creed and Live genera-blend...

In regards to Magni's performance... Sorry got those two bands mixed up... Creed and Live... They kind of genera-blend together... lol...

Posted by: Savvy at August 29, 2006 09:07 PM

Dave, you're so frickin' cool the way you interact with the fans.

Bono is the only other celebrity I know who is as giving to the fans as you. (He'll sign anytime anywhere!).

Frankly, I don't know your music very well but I've got heaps of respect for you and I shall check out your musical accomplishments in the coming days!

Not nice to rag on your peers but....Dilana was NOT the best in 2 years. Not even top 5 tonight. Period.

Only caught a few of the performances. Set the recorder to the wrong time. Doh! The Dark Horse delivered. Toby nailed it. Dilana was powerful. The rest of you will have to fill me in on Magni, Lukas, etc.

Posted by: Bri@n at August 29, 2006 09:12 PM

Dilana was good Dave, but definitely not the best performance ever seen or heard in both seasons!!
The outfit alone made her like a character out of a Super Mario video game tonight! I just don't see her fronting Supernova unless they really aren't too serious about the whole thing. And given the SN songs released so far, that may be the case.

Toby was the best of the night.
Followed by Lukas and Magni.

Posted by: heather at August 29, 2006 09:14 PM

Hey Dave... just want to say that you're doing a good job up there, but it would be cool to hear Supernova first before you voice your opinion. It is their gig.... although I enjoy your outside perspective.

My personal opinion, if I were to audition those last 6 for my band I would have to go with either Storm, Toby, or Magni. They can all sing on key, have a varied range (though we haven't heard Toby try that much) and have amazing charisma and stage presence. The added bonus is that they are all fairly humble (a quality that is the glue for the chemistry in our band and allowed us to be together for so long).

From what I saw in the clips online, Dilana has trouble with upper ranges and falsetto. Lukas... (Eddie Munster) well I can't stand to watch him or hear him.

Ryan isn't quite the fit for the band, but has tons of talent.

Good luck with your new band. Maybe we'll share a stage some day.

Peace

Posted by: Ringo Ryan Starr at August 29, 2006 09:15 PM

Poor Dave LOL. Can't catch a break. If someone isn't bitching to you about theories, favorites, or song selection, they're bitching to you about how to fix the voting.

I just wonder if the hour lost to Storm, Lukas and Ryan fans will be significant enough to mention on the show. The other three contestants could get votes in but those three couldn't. That could really fuck shit up.

Anyway... All I hear on Rockband is how surprisingly amazing TPC's CD is so I'm going to have to check it out.

Posted by: CJ at August 29, 2006 09:15 PM

Dear Dave,

Because of the one hour MSN voting screw up tonight from 9:55 PM to 10:55 PM, why can't all six performers sing their own "elimination" song tomorrow, and let Supernova decide? Supernova decides anyway. Really, what's the difference - deciding who needs to go, out of 6, or who needs to go, out of 3.

Regardless, tonight's voting results need to be thrown out. And, someone in management needs to determine if the Rock Star message board moderators really should have deleted every single thread that mentioned the voting problem (and in fact, still deleting). Talk about bending reality...

Posted by: SoulMistake at August 29, 2006 09:16 PM

well i cannot vote still. i only wanted to vote for lukas and ryan anyway. i am totally shocked that dilana cut magni, but magni seemed to be okay and he wasn't upset about it. i cannot stand dilana and even though i thought her crying sounded fake..i believed she was sincere tonight looking into the camera. to me, i did see remorse in her eyes. i really don't see her winning now with her temper..too many tempers in one band is not a good thing. but i think that you are right dave, she will have a fruitful career. (did i just say that??)

Posted by: MoonRider613 aka heather at August 29, 2006 09:16 PM

The show was pretty entertaining tonight. It is getting difficult to decide who should front SN. I keep going back and forth from Lukas and Dilana. But Toby definitely impressed me tonight, very unexpected. Dave, I think it would be awesome if an uncensored version of RS:SN came out. I would love to see how the four of you actually interact with the "rockers" and each other. BTW your new assistant is one lucky bitch. Peace!

Posted by: Amy at August 29, 2006 09:19 PM

question about voting

In Australia, the performance show finshes Wed @ 9.30pm (Aussie time) - we can then vote till 11.30pm (WOW!)

How does this ad up with the USA getting to vote for a lot longer
(Toby must be doing well then with such little home town support)

Also does the voting from the website count the same as the sms voting?

enquiring minds need to know!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the show - thanks for the entertainment and keeping Rock music rockin!

Posted by: Vicki Veranese at August 29, 2006 09:20 PM

It was after 11 when i finally got through. Heather, i know, right! i was like, "hello-w!". It was an accident, tho. I felt bad seeing her cry. i don't like to see people cry. :(
Toby is the best fit for them.

Lukas... (Eddie Munster)
LMAO Ringo!!! I thought I was the only one who thought that!

Hey Dave, Let me start of with a "I am a Dilana Fan" so you know off the bat where I am comming from, this whole Dilana fiasco was SO blown out of proportion, Yes she was wrong but damn 3 nights of lets get Dilana was a bit much... This Voting Fiasco tonight was and is going to make Many PO`d and will no doubt be a black eye for Rockstar but unfortunately SHIT happens and what can one do... When that many try to hit one site at the sametime, dinial of service can and will happen... I am SO glad you cleared up the rumor mill on the who has already been picked... It is good to hear and I trust your insite into this matter... Now here is a confession... I was such a rocker in my day, (I am 48) and over time I moved away from rock, this season of Rockstar has reignited the fire of yesteryear so now I find myself tuning in again but I had no clue as to who you were, so after watching one night did a search on you and HERE you are. I started listing to your radio casts and DUDE you are to cool and now, I wont beable to say to anyone when they say 'Panic Channel is so cool" What is that a new cable TV scary movies show? LOL you have a new fan....

Posted by: FloridaFan at August 29, 2006 09:29 PM

DAVE U ROCK!

I took a look over at the MSN boards & they were out of control & starting rumors that the voting was fixed & all that shit.... I am sooo sorry, but I told them to take their concerns to you & let you deal with it & leave msn the hell alone. You ROCK & as fans we know you'll get this issue of not being able to vote addressed so the fans can stop thinking this is fixed. Those of us that know you, know damn good & well it's not! This is a great chance to get the girls naked if you get this shit under control! ROCK ON DAVE!

Posted by: steph at August 29, 2006 09:31 PM

Great show. I guess it took last weeks drama to wake everyone up. All performances were great. I have been able to pick the bottom 3 each week but this week is going to be difficult. The 2 people I see being a great frontperson are still LUKAS and DILANA. Dilana rocked her ass off tonight and I would definitley buy tickets to see her with or without SN.

Check Please!!!

Sauteed in wrong sauce, too funny!!

I love how so many people go/complain to you about anything and everything Rock Star... conspiracy theories, song selection, favourites, and even voting on the msn site - because we all know you're in charge of that.

Anyhow, I loved SRL (or the part of it I caught anyways) tonight. Thanks for caring about your fans and the awesome entertainment/music as always!

Posted by: eli at August 29, 2006 09:35 PM

Toby doing covers does nothing for me...
However when he fronted Supernova he smoked it!!!
Then backing Storm he came alive...
He is definitely a band team player and holds his own in a band setting where he can get his rockin' groove on...

How the FUCK does a 19 year old get to be your Assistant? What a lucky bitch!!If i were her I'd be all up on your ass...Oh sorry, got caught up in my fantasies.. any way business at hand Supernova..Toby brought it tonight..No denying that shit,Ryan gets better and better, loving his performances..Dilana got it right tonight, though im kinda tired of her stomping around like a kid having a tantrum..missed Magni and Lukas but will try to catch them on Youtube before i vote.Keep keeping it real Dave,Love that i am listening to some Live Spread Radio Live as i type this shit.

Just wanted to comment on the voting fiasco tonight. Not only could I not vote on the website but Canadians do not have verizon! I hope the initial bottom 3 does not count.

Posted by: Marie at August 29, 2006 09:42 PM

Dave- Good on ya for telling Dilana that everyone's made mistakes and have said things they shouldn't have. Unfortunately, it was leason that needed to be learned, but I think she showed she can bounce back quickly.

Tonight was an awesome night. All of the rockers brought it and it's going to get tougher from here. It's hard to see such talented people go, but I know that most of them, if not all, will find a place in the music industry where they'll be successful.

You're doing a slamming job at hosting the show again this year and you look great. All my best. Peace.

LOl take their concerns to Dave. He'll love that, I'm sure.

Posted by: Yolster at August 29, 2006 09:46 PM

What I don't get is that I don't recall a SINGLE criticism of Dilana yet. I could care less about all the reality show BS, nor do I have a problem with her being in the "lead" or being the best fit.

Just ONCE I want to see someone say (tonight for instance)....

"Great job Dilana! It is good to see that you didn't let all the emotional BS affect your peformance. You had great stage energy and you always work the crowd well. I think you have the ability to sing with intensity without screaming, which you did a little bit tonight."

Is that too much to ask? Maybe the semi-critical stuff is being edited out?

All the performances were good tonight so I don't have a problem with anyone being in the bottom three, but I thought Dilana was actually the worst of the night, let alone the best in two seasons (Jordis...."Man...World" is still the best in my book...and I didn't like Jordis).

Posted by: badgermaniac at August 29, 2006 09:47 PM

Hi Dave, Please let us know where the early voting results come from please! I couldn't get a vote in for Lukas and he ended up in the bottom 3 with that performance and audience reaction? Doesn't make sense, please let us know.

Posted by: MS J at August 29, 2006 09:50 PM

Hey Dave, I got something for you to ask Dilana or for you to comment on... So many are saying on the boards that she is a reincarnation of Janis Joplin or is just immitating her,,, Is this to you a bad thing? Yes she reminds me of that powerful rocken star! Personaly I wonder what what both she and you think on this...

Posted by: Jeff at August 29, 2006 09:51 PM

I hope someone addresses this voting issue. I'm glad to see you are on top of it Dave. I am really impress with your business like manner. It is nice to know when people complain, people listen.
Thanks

Posted by: Dee at August 29, 2006 09:52 PM

consulting stone age RSSN chart Re: BOTTOM 3 = 8/30

Dilana Lukas Storm = 0 B3
Ryan Toby = 1 B3
Magni = 2 B3

So if Storm Lukas & Ryan Toby or Magni end up in the official B3...

That will officially leave Dilana the only rocker w/o a B3 performance!!!

Hi Dave: Lukas was phenomenal tonight but when I tried to vote for him the first hour and a half the on line voting was not working.

Then I was able to vote for a short time around 11 PM my time (Texas) and boom the server down message started again.

The people in Iceland say they have not been able to vote at all. Maybe this is why Magni is always in the bottom 3, because he does not deserve to be.

I am hoping you can tour Lukas with Magni and Toby along too. They are all so good.

Cheers, Renate

Posted by: Renate at August 29, 2006 09:56 PM

When I go to the all the rockers except for Lukas, I can vote but when voting for him I can't. Check his blog, I'm not the only one experincing this problems. Please addresses this voting issue on the show.

Maybe Storm made a tactical error by having Toby back her up and the band overpowered her at the start (tough to do). But who gives a shit? She brought it.

They all stepped up, and delivered a great show tonight.

...very tough to pick a bottom 3. Storm, Magni, and Toby I guess...who knows?

Thanks again for the SRL Dave, and please pass a thanks along to Todd for last night's laundry room tip.

peace y'all

It is only here that I see about voting trouble...I just hope that those votes that were cast -- like mine -- aren't nixed because there was some trouble for some people for a bit of time tonight....I know it would be frustrating to have the voting not work, but it is frustrating to think that I did vote for no reason.
Just something to think of when weighing on a decision

Ryan was killer. LOVED it. I don't agree with Jason's comments for THIS performance. I thought Ryan brought it tonight.

Now, I've seen Billy Idol do Rebel Yell and Toby KILLED it. He was fabulous.

Dilana fucking rocked. Period.

Who else performed?

Posted by: SJ at August 29, 2006 10:04 PM

Hey Dave,

I have read your blog for months now over my morning coffee....I have never posted a comment until now.
My husband and I love your new TPC album...we stayed up late to watch you on Kimmel and watch RSSN together religiously.
We love our music...its actually what brought us together as a couple, and all of our fave bands are represented on RSSN.
We love how you are so connected with your fans, take time to keep an updated blog and you have some good advice each and every show!!
My hubby was a Dilana fan in the beginning and I have see-sawed between Dilana and Lukas....*being Canadian leaning more to Lukas*.
The "reality" part of the show is interesting but has never swayed our votes....either we like the singing or we don't!
So tonight we were both shocked and amazed to hear you say that Dilana's performance was the best out of both seasons......Hubby looked at me and said it must sound WAY WAY different in the studio than on TV....she was good tonight... but was not even close to the best singer tonight IMO.
Everyone has their own opinions and I would never try and change that.....and am not trying to change yours in anyway...guess I am just wondering if the performances are THAT different live than on TV.
Toby came from nowhere and CRUSHED Rebel Yell....and Lukas definatly won me over to his side for good with his performance of Lithium.
And to be honest...Dilana never getting any advice or critisism at all through the whole show helped us in making our changes to voting/cheering for Toby and Lukas
afterall....this is a competition and everyone has room for improvement at some point right???

Anyways...still looking forward to see how things go tomorrow night and that they fix the problems with the voting!!

With huge amounts of Love and Respect
Take Care and Rock on!!!!!!

Posted by: Stacey at August 29, 2006 10:04 PM

ok, saw the whole thing now. Dilana was good but I didn't think fantastic good.
Bottom three should be: Storm, Ryan, Magni

Posted by: David at August 29, 2006 10:05 PM

SweetMelis... Hell no I didn't tell them to come their ass & complain to Dave.. Dave don't need that shit! I simply told them to check his site that Dave wouldn't be a part of a show that is fixed & stringing their fans along....I get so fuckin tired of those people starting rumors that this is fixed & they guys end up losing fans by not knowing what's up! They needed to see a fresh prespective & REAL ONE here! I am a huge supporter of DAVE (have been for years & luv everything he does & how real he is.) Dave loves his fans & doesn't want shit started over some damn msn shit that he has to blog about for hours to clear up stupid ass rumors!

Posted by: Steph at August 29, 2006 10:06 PM

Ahhhh, Toby BROUGHT IT tonight. Can't believe you thought Bonnie Tyler, er Dilana, was the best of 2 seasons. Marty's Creep or Jordis' MWSTW takes that honor.

But Toby. Toby, Toby. He was hot as love tonight.

RE: the voting issue. If it were the 'old' days and people had to use their phones to call in, they'd get a busy signal, and would just think the lines were jammed and keep trying. Why's this any different? We all got in eventually.

Posted by: Logan at August 29, 2006 10:07 PM

A few things annoyed me tonight.
A) Not being able to vote Lukas..very uncool and I hope it's taken into account tomorrow, so he knows his fans didn't desert him.
B)The Dilana praise..she did good, but not THAT good. I've lost a bit of respect for you guys after that. She's consistently the same, never switches it up, and her voice sounds like she smokes a few too many packs of smokes. It's not fair that the other contestants get ragged on for the littlest thing, but she gets away with everything, if you guys want to hire her, just do it and don't put the other contestants through the rest of this crap.

End rant.

BTW, still love ya dave, but ease up on the Dilana love.

Posted by: Rose at August 29, 2006 10:07 PM

Gosh..is Rockstar over yet??? I mean..is it almost over for the season now?
Dave--I think you should try a new show..maybe something like "Dave-Going Tribal"...I'd watch that.
Seems like this season is taking forever..and I haven't even been keeping up with it...Hmmm
Have a great night all!
I'm not hating--I'm just sayin'... :)

Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at August 29, 2006 10:07 PM

C'mon now Dave. I really do like you man, but it's easy for people to believe in conspiracies when crap happens like Dilana not getting called on plagiarizing her alleged "original" song from a previous song she had sung (and in fact, getting to sing with SN on that song), and footage of you dropping the newspaper hammer on Phil somehow gets magically released on YouTube to calm down the firestorm over why he got booted over Z. I'll I'm saying is you're right, it's SN's band, so they can do whatever they want. But just be upfront about it (and not so much you, but the SN guys). Dilby's comments to Storm tonight were laughable ... just say she isn't right, don't insult us and her by trashing it.

Posted by: Howie at August 29, 2006 10:08 PM

I AM SO FREAKING, UBELIEVABLY, HAPPY DILANA IS BACK!
I have been a fan of Dilana since I first began watching this show.. and even though she is amazing in whatever song she sings, I was worried the "Mother Mother" performance wouldn't go too well... *mostly because I remembered Jill's performance of that song... yuck >.<* and Dilana needed a great performance to pull her out of that bit of drama....
And she killed it... it was amazing.. I love the way she sang "I'm losing my mind!" You could feel it. It was electricity. Brilliant.

Tough night. Everyone did nicely. Toby really bailed Storm out...and still it was an iffy arrangement, IMO.

If I had to guess, I say Storm goes this week -- based on all the performances and the fact that Dilana and Lukas have huge fan bases.

Posted by: Jamie at August 29, 2006 10:14 PM

Dave,
I have always loved you; however, I think you lost your mind with all the praise you heaped on Dilana. The best in 2 seasons? No damn way. She sounded better singing it acapella on the reality section. At first she makes a nice impression up their. She looks semi-cool, a little old though, and doesn't sound terrible, but then she raises her voice and dogs start to kill over. Her high register blows. All she did tonight was throw her hair around her head. Boys do that much better. Head banging looks better on men. She looks like someone's grandmother up there. I know she is not that old, but she appears it. She is the mom that refuses to "dress her age" or tone it down a bit. She is the 60yo at the local diner smoking at 3am with a bunch of drunks telling her stories. We all know people like her, but there is no way she is right for them and there is no way that she had the best performance. Maybe she sprayed nitrous oxide into the room and it hit mainly you (Gee, wish I had been next to you for my dose!) Even the audience was barely clapping compared to Lukas and Toby. Please rewatch and see if your opinion does not change. Sorry for the rant, but I truly do not like her and I hate to see the others made to feel like they did not do a good job and that she did so damn good, when at best, it was mediocre. Jill sang it much better. Love always!

Hey Dave,

You are doing a great job dealing with the fans and all the performers and keeping a neutral opinion at the same time.

I just saw a copule of the las shows and I think that Storm is a great performer and also the guy from NY, I don't remeber his name.

The best of luck!

Posted by: Arturo at August 29, 2006 10:15 PM

Dear Dave:

Why is everyone pandering to Dilana? Her performance was really subpar tonight but she got so much praise, I am confused. Had to go clean out my ears and run the Tivo again and I was not wrong with my first assessment. What's the deal with all the special treatment for Dilana?

I heard she got a lawyer and threatened to sue everyone. Is that the reason for all the faux Dilana "love" tonight? The fans are not buying it and you can plainly see she is not one bit sorry she did all those crazy things but instead because she got caught.

Bad vibes on that babe's Karma.

I know you are one of the Producers. We would have all preferred to see some more of Lukas (by far), Toby, Magni, Storm and Ryan rather than the Dilanadramarama. Dilana can get on the Surreal Life after the show is over - that is where she might be more entertaining. Janice Dickinson could start a rock band with Dilana and they could drive each other crazy; maybe that woman Omerosa could be the singer.

I am French but I love American Television drama stuff because it is so disingenuous.

You, my friend, rule and I hope you will continue to have much success.

Best wishes, Michel

"I am sooo sorry, but I told them to take their concerns to you & let you deal with it & leave msn the hell alone"

Not for nothing Steph, but that to me sounds like you told them to come complain to Dave. I am simply going by exactly what you said. Your last post says something completly different.
But whatever, I guess I just "misunderstood".

Dilana gave me the chills tonight. I thought she was just awesome! Still watching all the performances as I vote.

No Problems with voting for me except at the very end of the show and it was a bit early yet I guess. Damn I had to vote for Lucas once just to check it out and it worked as well. Oh well three more for Lady Dilana to make up for that one!!

All in all I didn't care for Ryan tonight at all. Toby was just ok. I can't even believe that anyone would think that Lucas was near as good as Dilana's performance of the same song. Storm I thought did great, although I don't see her to the end. Magni was good, I like him, but I think not for SN.

I can't seem to get your radio casts although I have tried. You are cool, even though I agree with an above poster, I didn't know alot of your musice until I found this site..........ummm guess I'm just an older gen rocker. Child of the sixties and didn't come out of it till the late eighties ;P

Great job you do! You have a new fan in me.

Posted by: Shonie at August 29, 2006 10:21 PM

What is going on with the voting? I can't get my votes in as usual. No wonder Lukas showed as being in the bottom 3...there HAS to be a glitch. Please look into this for everyone's sake. Cheers

Posted by: ILKA at August 29, 2006 10:22 PM

the bottom 3 results after the break should not be shown to the rockers. it would be unfair for them to think these results were accurate. I couldnt get even 1 vote in for lukas for over 1 hr. if they go by voting results this show is fixed.

Posted by: amle at August 29, 2006 10:23 PM

Dave I have to disagree about Lukas and Dilana tonite, and here is why...Lukas doesnt sound that great vocally, it sounds like he struggles alot..at least on TV anyway. He is edgy and a good performer...I feel that is why he is so popular, and Dilana just didnt bring it this week, its so obvious her performance has been affected by her own drama. Dilana is one of my favorites, but after seeing what went on at the house, and her 2-facing everyone else...Just doesnt seem she is mature enough to handle the responsiblity of fronting Supernova. Hey Dave you said Dilana's performance tonite was your all time favorite...Mine was Everlong, Marty Casey...doubt you care, but I wanted to add that;)
Later Dave...
P.S What is the latest on Marty?? Is he still selling real estate?

Posted by: friskygirl at August 29, 2006 10:24 PM

Dave- we have not been able to vote for Lukas and I hope something will be done as it is really not fair. His performance tonight was by far the best. Ryan's was akward and Toby didnt do nearly as good on Rebel Yell. Dilana- best performance of two seasons???? she did not even sound good. What is going on. You are usually really unbiased with your comments but what gives??

Dave, I know you have nothing to do with MSN BUT you have more power that us little nothings out here that are trying to vote, so for the record it is 10:17 pm here in California, voting should have opened up but so far I can not get on to vote.
On the brightside of things I finally got to hear your show live, Yayyy!

Posted by: socaLukasfan at August 29, 2006 10:26 PM

Diane, I'll be glad when rockstar is over too. We need Dave back with CFR on Saturday nights. Get in there and help Mr. Morrison out! That was cool to hear you on CFR and SRL at the same time though.

Anyway, tonight, Toby did the best, IMO. I think he'd be good for Supernova. The rest have something quirky about them that I don't like, especially Dilana. I don't know what you guys see in her. Easily one of the worst singers I've heard. That's my .02

Hola Dave:

Is there some sort of conspiracy against Lukas?

We could not vote for him tonight, will keep trying.

When I clicked on the other competitors it would have let me vote for them (but not Magni or Lukas) I gave Toby a few votes because he is great and I could vote for him but MY MAN IS LUKAS is having technical difficulties and I do not like that one bit.

Hope this does not negatively affect Lukas' chances.

Rock on, Martina

Posted by: Martina at August 29, 2006 10:27 PM

You know what all six are good and being in the bottom three doesn't mean shit at this point if you nail your song anyways.
People need to relax...besides I'm looking forward to seeing what any of those not in the bottom three before do with a song completely of their choosing.

Great stuff Dave with the music, show, and of course the blog!

Posted by: Hounsy at August 29, 2006 10:29 PM

Hey Dave,

Show was great...tough to call but odds on are that Storm gets the axe tomorrow. Would love to see you sit in for a Supernova track on the show...that would be killer.
Anyway...lots of respect for all of you, been a huge fan of Gilby's and love how he is straight up about his feelings...good mesh there with Jason and TLee.
Love the new Panic Channel stuff as well

Thanks and all...

Hello Dave...
Umm I used to like you...what the heck were you sucking on Dilana's ass for? Then on top of it..I can't get any votes in...is this fixed? I'm telling you Lukas was amazing tonight...and if he ends up in the bottom 3..we know why!

Posted by: Jess at August 29, 2006 10:31 PM

SweetMelis... It's all cool.. sometimes posts on blogs can get confusing...Sorry that came across wrong for you. (DEAL WIT IT.. I meant.. let him clear it up by reading his numerous blogs that he has already had to post to clear the tons of shitty rumors already flying around in internet space) The concerns were about the show being fixed & Dave has so many posts explaining the process & how it works & that it is not FIXED and he or nor the SN guys have nothing to do with the voting. That is what I meant by getting it cleared up by reading his site. I hope that helps clear that up for you ;-)

Posted by: Steph at August 29, 2006 10:31 PM

Storm and Magni continue to be completely impressive. Not just with their HUGE musical ability, they draw me in to each and every performance, they both rock-big-time. But, they are also so caring and giving to each of their fellow housemates. I just hope they aren't carrying the caring to the point it is a fault.

Posted by: JB at August 29, 2006 10:33 PM

Jess,
How very sweet.

Posted by: Yolster at August 29, 2006 10:34 PM

Wow Dave, you are like that new parent that gives out a spanking and then over then tries to elevate their guilt by showering them with love. Come on, best of two season, not even in top two of the night. How tiring to listen to the constant tongue bath that Mother dove constantly receives.

Posted by: Trust Me at August 29, 2006 10:34 PM

Dave.
Dude. I love ya man--you rule, you are believable when you speak/write etc. I gotta say though, how can you keep from taking a swing at Gilby, he so OBVIOUSLY has a hard on against Storm and will sacrifice reality to make it clear that he doesn't want her. He needs to get professional and f*ckin get up there and play with her to Supernova music or original music and then make a goddamn decision: right for us, not right for us.

I could care less if she wins or not but the fact is...you gotta be fair and while the song itself sucks she nailed it vocally. And is consistent.

On to Lucas. I think he is the only one that has the full package: can do original stuff and nails the dreaded karoake that these guys have to do. I know you like Dilana but I fear her musicianship is more limited.

I can't wait to see these folks do original stuff & supernova stuff.

Are YOU gonna get up there and rock with any of them...

THAT'D BE (to quote you) AWESOME.

Posted by: anne adams at August 29, 2006 10:35 PM

Hi Dave
I'm so upset right now...I didn't get one vote in.
You have to be tone deaf to not think Lukas was the star of the show..and we can't even show him how great he was..pisses me off. Dave..your sexy as hell..but when you sucked up to dilana..your sex appeal few right out the window....

Posted by: Cherrycoke at August 29, 2006 10:36 PM

SPREAD RADIO It looks like you are trying to spread some sort of diease with that logo and then when I go to the site there's women all spread.......Dude have not you heard of HIV and hundreds of other problems? Also although these women obviously want the attention, dont you think it is kind of degrading to market women as commercial objects based purely on their bodies? Dont get me wrong I love that you are out there doing your thing but just Something to think about

Posted by: Debra at August 29, 2006 10:36 PM

I have been having trouble voting all night. I either get on for a bit and it is incredibly slow or the site is down completely. I think you should mention that in your show because the Lukatics and the rest of his fans have a powerful voting force and there is no way in hell that he could be in the bottom 3. With that performance!

By the way, Dilana was pretty good tonight, but the best performance out of both seasons, COME ON! Don't feel bad just because you called her out. She needed that to knock her off her high horse.

Lukas rocked the house tonight! Toby was good too, but he always has to use props and tonight it was women. Nothing wrong with that, but sometimes you have to use your mind, body and voice as your creative tool. You know who does that???

That's right.....LUKAS!!!

People are craving Lukas and can't get enough of him, including guys!!! We are passionate about him as an artist and just wish that you would mention tomorrow how much feedback you got about the trouble we had voting or even that we were in an uproar about him being in the bottom three.

Thanks for listening to me rant and rave, you're the best!

Posted by: gingy at August 29, 2006 10:36 PM

Dave,
First of all, you are hot! The CD rocks!
Second, the Dilana drama worried me a little and I hope that she does not take a huge hit over it. I mean really people, don’t we ALL have that little bottle of Prozac that gets us through an ordinary day, let alone a RockStar day! Dilana has done awesome throughout this entire competition. I really think SN needs a woman to front them. I was really hoping Storm would be in there as well but seeing that she has not had the best performances in a few weeks, well her time may be near. Anyway…..I look forward to tomorrow’s elimination! Have a great day Dave!

Posted by: Lisa from Houston at August 29, 2006 10:37 PM

What was up tonight Dave. Lukas was by far the best and we can't even vote for him because the stupid voting doesn't work. They better have a re vote. What was up with kissing Dilana's ass too. She did not even sound good. Ryan- that dark horse needs to go to the glue factory. Toby was good but his Rebel Yell was no where as good as Lukas's ! Tonights show was fixed against Lukas for some reason. I guess he is too good!

Posted by: Kelly P Vouri at August 29, 2006 10:38 PM

The internet, the 'game' you'll love to hate.

I have no real faves, I think the 'reality' I see outta the whole thing is the reaction of people towards it, unfortunately, some of it, allot of it, is kinda ugly.

Performances? I'm really sorry to anyone who may be offended by my saying so, but Dilana so seems to so easily out do the others, it seems also moot.

That chick must have sang some metal, she definitely has an element I'm not hearing in the others. Anyways, leave it at that. I tried to vote and the thing tanked...heh...more controversy.

Posted by: Bliterhcaster at August 29, 2006 10:38 PM

Once again, Dilana did not go anywhere ... she just offended everyone else on the show and nearly killed someone.

Her performance tonight was blah compared to everyone else. Best in two seasons? Dave, seriously, not even close, brother!

Toby should win this thing. Magni is great. Lukas did his best performance of the season, and that's saying something. I'm glad Gilby ragged on his back-turning -- it worked and helped tremendously. Storm was GREAT. Adding Toby didn't hurt, it only helped. Hers was way better than Jill or Zayra. And Ryan -- the guy is TRYING TOO HARD. It looks so forced and painful! I don't want to see him TRY to impress me, I want him to impress me. His piano at the beginning was not good. The fill-ins on the breakdown was good though.

Send Ryan home, Supernova. He has a hot girlfriend and supposedly successful piano act that he misses. Set him free.

Posted by: justin at August 29, 2006 10:38 PM

Given the ridculous criticism of Storm's performance, I'll say I bet the sound on TV was better than the studio this week.

Were you people listening to a different woman singing a different song?

Also...way to drop the ball on the smashed glass incident. She could have done him serious, permanent damage and you pussies just let it goe for fear of making her cry again.

Weak sauce. She deserved to be slapped in the fucking mouth for putting someone in harm;s way. Look at the video again and see how much glass bounces off Magni's face. It's dumb luck that nothing hit his eye or went in his mouth.

Posted by: JimK at August 29, 2006 10:38 PM

Hey Dave, yeah more ranting on the voting, I read above somewhere that all the rockers should sing one for SN due to the voting fuck up, I almost threw a wine glass on the floor!!!
Anyhow.........what I really wanted to comment on was the statement you made about Dilana's being the best of the 2 seasons and I think you are hot but crazy! I loved JD last year but one of my favorite performances of both seasons has to go to Suzie MacNeil's Bohemian Rhapsody! I mean I don't think anyone can duplicate Freddie Mercury, not should they even try, but I was blown away by her last year!!! And I am sorry but Dilana was ok but it was not even HER best let alone the best of both seasons. She really does sound the same every week, and I used to like her.
Lukas Kicks Ass!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Amanda (AKA FreakieGirl) at August 29, 2006 10:39 PM

umm and oh ya...Dilana the best in two years???..I think you need to watch all the tapes over again...

Posted by: Cherrycoke at August 29, 2006 10:39 PM

and dark horse has come a long way but really kinda seems contrived, is it just me?

Posted by: anne adams at August 29, 2006 10:42 PM

Hello there Dave,
Wow! I sure love this year's Rock Star, even better than last year! You are doing a fantastic job, the whole program is awesome!
I just wanted to give you a shout to say what
a gentleman you were to comment to "move on" from all the controversy, etc. with Dilana and the press. She is a wonderful person and performer and truly shows her heart and soul and every emotion in between. From the very first show, her singing Lithium - I was totally mesmerized, unreal! It is so obvious, Lukas is a poser and you can kinda tell the guys, besides, Magni, love when Dilana is kicked down a bit. Anyhow, Chow for now, keep up the good work, you are a class act!

Posted by: Tammy at August 29, 2006 10:44 PM

Not including the beginning of the show or the comments from you & SN, the show was amazing tonight!! I think all of the final six are awesome, but please don't treat any of them the way you did Dilana last week. Verbally abusing a woman 'til she completely breaks down is not impressive and it's a horrible way to teach someone a lesson. If you and the other guys have made so many similar mistakes in your day, why did you feel you had to do that? Are you a hypocrite? You owe her an apology. I watch the show because I want to kick back, enjoy the performances and forget about the day I had at the office. I didn't realize there was an "old boys club" in rock n roll and I'm really disappointed. I was completely bummed out when the show started tonight and last week's clips were shown AGAIN. You and SN are obviously great judges of muscial talent and performance ability and only SN knows who will be the best one to front their band, but judging a person's character so harshly in front of millions of people after seeing a few edited clips was no more responsible than Dilana's were in the "clinic". The show was my absolute favorite until last week. It's not my favorite anymore and it's not because Dilana made a "mistake". Thank God for Dilana, Lukas, Toby, Ryan, Magni and Storm. If not for them, I wouldn't watch the show anymore. For the remaining weeks, I'll just fast forward (thank GOD for tivo) through the commentaries and just watch them!!! I hope they don't learn too much from you or SN.

Posted by: SHIVERS at August 29, 2006 10:53 PM

Dave I love that you not only read your blog but you reply. You seem like such a down to earth guy it is great and very refreshing. I heard a radio interview with JD Fortune and he said you were one of the nicest guys he had ever met. And that you only lost it one time on RS:INXS and then come right back and personal apologized to everyone in the room, very classy. And not being able to vote for Lukas sucks, but seeing him sing two nights in row fucking rocks.

Posted by: lukasfan at August 29, 2006 10:53 PM

Lukas kicked ass as always, Storm is the next to leave, Magni never changes up songs, Ryan will be great on his own, Toby has really been stepping up as long as he keeps the props away, and wow, Dilana looked about 70 on TV! I'm so tired of hearing about her. Dave-you rocked the plaid

Posted by: rim at August 29, 2006 10:55 PM

Dave,
I heard you on SLR say the Paris Hilton gave the Panic Channel only 1 1/2 stars. Any slam from that worthless hole, I would take as being a high compliment. If she hates it, it MUST BE AWESOME!!!! I love the tracks that I've heard. Keep up the good work.

Posted by: Ron in Phoenix at August 29, 2006 11:01 PM

I did have some trouble voting but finally got it to work. Just imagine how many ma boy Lukas would have gotten if it hadn't been messed up. I must say also them making you put your shirt back on bummer. That was not very nice. You are one sexy man. Oh well I just have to use some good old imagination :]. Anyways Love What You Do. GO LUKAS!!!

Posted by: Richelle at August 29, 2006 11:01 PM

& here I was thinking I was on the same page as the majority for once, only to find out there are ....'problems with the voting' - DAYMMM!!!!

I just don't get all the Lukas love. Or Storm love for that matter.

I did like the Ryan piano thing but he has to do stuff like that coz he's kinda boring.

Magni has huge talent as does Dylana but if I were SN, I'd much rather be sharing a tourbus/plane/motel room for 12months with Toby than any of them....& he can sing too!

Maybe Dave they all should sing again 2morrow nite - that would not solve the voting probs but it would be fair, & cool for us watching.
