I was wondering what waz up Dave? I did not see the post performance comments, but WHAT IN THE HELL was Zayra wearing??
Dilana rocks!

Counting down the days for the release!

Posted by: LisaG at August 1, 2006 09:38 PM

DUDE!! Amazing Rockstar! Ryan kicked ass. Dilana amazing as always. Storm....yeah, OK. Lukas....SUCKED ASS! I'm sorry all you Zayra haters but she knocked that one out of the park. That was cool. Patrice held her own with Tommy, not an easy feat! Magni, SOLID!

Jill.......can you say DONE, ENOUGH, GO FIND A LOUNGE IN VEGAS AND GET A JOB!! And Toby not looking good, mate! Josh is great, super talented and not right for this band. Dana, I still don't buy it.

Ah, what you missed. Libertine dildos,Skippy chunky PB,Why Cry diligence,Lep bashing, and us-not too much,we create our own fun:). TLee was xcellent tonight! Last Oct, when I seen him he was rocking it also. Zayra or Jill has to go. That was so cool of Supernova to do that for Magni. My youngest just started walking and that is special. Have a good eve DMN, Luv ya, Db

Posted by: Danni at August 1, 2006 09:49 PM

I also just in the last few weeks watched my son walk for the first time. Couldn't imagine being thousands of miles away when it happened. Good on ya Dave and Supernova for bringing the family in from Iceland. Bet Magni steps it up large when they get there too.

Jill, ya gotta go. Just god awful you are, sorry.

Posted by: bajatango at August 1, 2006 09:54 PM

still watching as I post this...another great show Dave...would you mind grabbin' me a beer while you're up dude? You hammered Jill and she deserved it.

Looks like Ryan may get the encore he killed tonight, Magni was awesome as well. Lukas was not feeling comfortable in his 'celebrity skin' tonight and it showed. I don't think Dana has had to fight for a meal in her life, somewhere John Entwistle and Keith Moon are cryin in their scotch.

gotta catch the finale...

peace y'all

Posted by: wingman012 at August 1, 2006 09:56 PM

Yea Danni, they missed a lot huh. Well if you missed it, you can go back and read all about the dildos with peanut butter on them! ha ha

Jill sounded awful, but why is she cheap for grinding, and Zayra isn't for the clown costumes! Just cause she gives you guys a hard on, she stays around? Her vocals sucked! I concur Ryan will get the encore, and Lukas wasn't at his best. I am realizing more each week just how hot and sexy Lukas is! I love you Lukas no matter what!

Dave, I think you guys were too nice tonight. Were those your pants that Dialna was wearing? Ha Ha. I want to watch you and Tommy mud wrestle too!!!!

Hey Dave,

Just wanted to drop a line and let you know you have me, hook, line, and sinker! Actually, I am a blog "virgin", if you will...never cared enough about any site enough to read it, let alone comment. But once I started watching the show, I had to get more...couldn't get enough! And then I found your site, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate getting the insider scoop! And the YouTube video was awesome - thank you for being true enough to your fans to put that out there.

Keep it coming - we love you!!!

Posted by: crackstar at August 1, 2006 10:20 PM

Good show - I thought Patrice did OK. I know some have questioned why she would think she's qualified to sing with Tommy, Jason and Gilby if the thought of singing with Tommy makes her so nervous, but y'know, right now, they're still TOMMY, JASON and GILBY - these massive rock stars that she's gotten to know a bit, and there's still going to be some of that "oh my god, it's TOMMY on the drums back there!" feeling going on. If she were to end up getting the gig, though, she'll have some time to get to know the guys during rehearsals and such, and most likely they'll become Tommy, Jason and Gilby, the guys she works with. But for a first time on stage with one of the guys, I think she did reasonably well - and I liked her version of the song.

Dave, THANK YOU for being so blunt with Jill. She oversings EVERYTHING, overacts and overeverythings. Oi! I have to say, though, I wish you guys could do like INXS did last season and drop both Jill and Zayra at once and just put them out of our misery!

I really hope either Dilana or Ryan gets the encore tomorrow. Both were INCREDIBLE.

And good on Supernova for bringing Magni's family in. It's very cool to see that they know the importance of family and reconise that even in the crazy world of rock, sometimes you just need to be with them.

Posted by: lerxstlady at August 1, 2006 10:25 PM

Lukas..ho boy..am seriously frustrated with him!

Dave,
Can you do us a favour? Can you give Lukas a real hard kick in his arse or a good punch in his face and ask him to get his act together and STEP UP!!!

Posted by: Reez at August 1, 2006 10:31 PM

So, in one of the above comments someone asked why is Jill 'grinding' cheap?

Here is my take: Sex sells-but pimping yourself on stage is an embarrassment. Personally, I think that she needs to respect herself & show some respect for Gilby. If Gilby wanted a groupie I am sure that he could find one after the show. Last week, Jill put women in rock n roll back about 30 years! There are 3 talented men with STRONG personalities that she must front out on stage. They have years of music behind them-this should be an honor to be auditioning for the trio.
It was great to see that some of the contestants (& I can't stress the word enough) finally took heed to what 'the panel' have said. Come on guys, 'the panel' are telling you of your opportunities so you can improve & become the lead singer of an amazing band. I think that the contestants really stepped up to the plate this week!
So my vote is for Delina~~an amazing woman! I would love to see her a part of Supernova.
Dave thank you for posting your blog for us to see!
I raise my glass to you Dave!

i am still cracking up over zayra's performance! i fucking love you dave! all you could do was laugh. then you asked for time to digest what you saw! funny stuff right there.

Bajatango, how old is your lil one? Mine just turned one. Little godsends they are:) Crackstar, welcome to the show, u will love it here:) A smiley for Linda since she always makes me laugh, whether it be about Ireland bonfires or whatever:) Guess what the show that was your competition on ABC, The ONE(ironic) was cancelled after just ONE showing. Don't you,,,,,,,,, forget about us,DN:) Thanx for taking time out for your loyals.

Posted by: Danni at August 1, 2006 10:57 PM

Hey Dave,

I actually thought this was the worst show from either season. Do you ever just sit up there and listen to what Jason is saying and go to yourself "this has to be the dumbest guy on the face of the earth" I keep imagaing that the metallica guys are watching every week just to cut him up. I agree with you that there is only a few people that could front a band with T. L. But I think you have Dilana in that group that can, there is NO way she would last. I am afraid however that Jason may be pushing away the right person for the job.... Storm may win on default..You are doing a fantastic job this year and you are providing the only credible voice on that panel..good on ya..I am a huge fan of the show. Also if you could email me the clip on brooke from this week I would appreicate that a great deal.

Posted by: Shawn at August 1, 2006 11:01 PM

I am curious as to who it is that chooses the song choices? Is it the guys in SuperNova?

Posted by: Lisa at August 1, 2006 11:26 PM

Dave, can you tell Perkins to post a new blog over at Rock Star Go Home! He's slacking, with only one old entry. Tsk, tsk.

Posted by: Jason at August 1, 2006 11:34 PM

I am really disappointed in the songs, most of them seem more appropriate for Idol. I couldn't wait for Rockstar so I could here some real rock and roll. Reggae, 8675309?

Alana, I wasn't defending Jill, I think too many women in videos are just there to look sexy not sing. What I meant was that Gilby criticized Jill, which was right on, but why doesn't he tell Zayra to quit playing the so called sex kitten?

Dave, instead of kicking Lukas in the ass, could you lock lips with him for me? HaHa. Actually, that would be very sexy!!!! I would like a photo, or maybe a video!!! OK, I'm a little punchy, I've been up since 2:30 a.m. I guess I'm horny too!! That happens when I'm up too long!!

Criss Angel's fan club e-mailed me asking me to help promote his new CD, "MF2". Mind Fuck 2? Oh yea, MINDFREAK 2. What the hey, don't they know I'm too busy working for you?

Dave, quit slacking off, I'm going to have to kick your ass, well maybe just grab it!!! hahahah

Oh, one other thing - if you have any pull on the song choice, PLEASE ask them to knock off with the weekly Nirvana. Yes, they are a FANTASTIC group, but there is such a wide range of music to choose from when picking songs to have these guys sing to keep using one group over and over and over. As some may have picked up on from my nick, I'm a MAJOR Rush fan, but I'd be getting sick of hearing their stuff redone week after week by this point, too...

Keep rockin', and can't wait for the 15th!! Got (ONe) on preorder :D

Posted by: lerxstlady at August 2, 2006 12:37 AM

Linda~~no problem! :):)

Posted by: alana at August 2, 2006 12:38 AM

Dilana rocked it tonight. She does every night and I'm always surprised by her, because she takes the show to a whole new level each week. Seeing her ride on the guy's shoulders was classic. Perfect.

I really hope Zayra goes home soon. It's so redundant seeing her butcher songs every week but thinking it'll save her if she wears those skintight outfits. Every time she tries to rock out, it just ends up being her SPEAKING the lyrics really loudly and emphatically.

Posted by: Ali at August 2, 2006 12:41 AM

Why no bottom 3 this week Dave? Brooke mentioned it but it was never posted on the TV...

Posted by: Shawn at August 2, 2006 12:47 AM

"Brooke, I need a moment to digest what I just saw..." That was one of the great moments of reality tv I have ever seen. I almost fell off the couch.

Dilana should win, hands down.

Posted by: David at August 2, 2006 01:19 AM

Shawn-

Just a thought:

If you are going to open your post with calling someone dumb, you MIGHT not want to pepper that very same post with all manner of spelling and grammatical errors!

Posted by: CorasMama at August 2, 2006 01:30 AM

What is wrong with me? I...enjoyed Zayra's performance. Mostly because she is batshit insane, but her little crouch while singing 'Jenny, don't change your number...I NEED to make you mine'? I died a little with happiness.

Hated, hated, hated Lukas. I've never liked him because I cannot understand a thing he says. Tonight, though...Hole is one of my favorite bands ever, and he couldn't even be bothered to learn the lyrics? For shame, troll man, for shame. And from a Billy Idol fangirl, his Rebel Yell didn't do it for me at all. I'll never understand why he got all the praise he did for that song.

Finally: Storm FTW guys, she is amazing.

Posted by: Lydia at August 2, 2006 02:01 AM

David,

LOL you are right my spelling and grammer needs work but I never protested to be very smart but I can tell you one thing I havn't done or wouldn't do and that is quit the biggest rock band in the entire world because it wasn't enough for me.

Posted by: Shawn at August 2, 2006 02:31 AM

Dave, ru gonna do anything about those people selling Supernova episodes illegally on the net?

Posted by: belle at August 2, 2006 03:22 AM

Ok.

Just finished watching the reality show, all the way down here in Nuuuu Zeeeelaaaand, first time I have managed to bring myself to watch it.

I was left with completely mixed emotions after watching this thing.

First up, no one can say that the contestants aren't all talented and charismatic front people. The guy on the piano tonight blazed. The freaky chick is electric, no doubt.

Equally if one was to be honest, and truly appreciates what 'rock' is, one could only, truly, admit that in doing the show, all these contestants are absolute whores who have sold their souls to Satan, with no more credibility than the most insipid manufactured pop moppets.

I am trying to articulate why these talented young souls doing this thing bothers me so much Dave, and it comes down to this:- the whole putrid thing stinks, reeks, of $$$$, yet again.

True rock is about crawling through a country in a van, stinking, like AC/DC, and the Stones did, purely for the sheer, deep love of it. True rock is about horny, angry, testosterone soaked youth, it's young Elvis, it's Kurt on the 'Teen Spirit' video. It is raw, animal fucking and it is jilted and disturbed and often drug and alcohol damaged, like Jim Morrison, like Iggy, like the Oasis boys.

But don’t get me wrong, Dave, because true rock that leads to $$, fame and all the stuff you live is a beautiful thing. When it is EARNED. When it happens the right way through sheer hard work, when it happens after something brilliant explodes out of it's box all over everybody...wow...that's a wild thing. It is the absolute, immovable truth about all of us on this planet. WE ALL HAVE TO WORK TO REAP WHAT WE SOW.

You see, cream always rises to the top, Dave. You, Steve, Perry and Eric didn’t need a fucking TV reality show. Janes made it because Janes was Janes was Janes (the Janes that played Auckland in 91, that is). Same with Metallica. Same (prior to the post-Appetite, coked-out-Axl-on the-Grand-Piano-and-orchestra Gilby era) with the Gunners. Same (to a immensely less artistically credible, but still rock level) with Motely. All you guys worked it, loved it, earned it, because you loved making something that spread like love. Nothing stops that.

You did it without a TV show, instant escalator to the $$ and associated fame benefits, that everyone seems to covet

That's rock.

Isn't it fascinating, the all-consuming power of greed and how it makes everything dull. Malcom McLaren, who invented the Sex Pistols visited NZ the other week and lamented how money just makes everything so boring.

A bunch of 40-something dudes covered in designer this and that, make-up, little wrinkles, tattoos and matching Marlborough-husked voices. All already multi-every-thing, doing what is being done on this Show, is most certainly NOT rock. That's the poison of the $$.

Again – please don’t get me wrong…old boys can be cool and fucking rock, no doubt. Check Iggy 2006 – WOW!!!! Tool, the band I so wish Janes had grown like/alongside with. Check the Stones who did such a great, stripped back show in Auckland earlier this year. Even non-‘rockers’ like Miles, Muddy Waters, Ruben Gonzales…they rock, in their own core styles…

As for you guys Dave - maximum respect for all the Jane's (Janes as in Eric A on bass) stuff that I still worship - all-time, no doubt. Jason - you also have huge mana' (NZ Maori term meaning 'respect-commanding authority’). Tommy: more of a bendy-straw circus act than the drumming behemoth you claim he is, Dave (anyone who knows their drummers, knows he can't even shine the shoes of - say - Danny Carey). Gilby – you’re the bottom, duuuuuuuude.

I am a person who has music 'all up inside me' as Miles Davis once said - I listen to it from dawn till dusk, I write it, I think about it, I get off on it and all that other stuff.
And I wonder what Miles would think about this. Or Perry Farrell, or Lou Reed, Dave. Bowie, Lars/James/Kirk….Thom Yorke, Bill Hicks… the guys from Tool...all people who un-disputedly, truly 'rock'.

All who bother to have read this far, who want to really feel the hair stand up on their neck should check New Zealand’s Shihad, and while at it, Shayne Carter’s Dimmer and his phenomenal previous guise The Straitjacket Fits. If that sounds far too ‘small little unimportant blip on the planet’ for you, then maybe re-visit the artists above. Or Dave’s solo on ‘Stop’, the opening track off ‘Ritual De Lo Habitual’, or maybe Chris Cornell singing anything off ‘BadMotorFinger’.

SO:- to conclude why Rockstar Supernova gives me the shits? All you contestants….you all REALLY want the $$ and the fame; each and every one of you wants that end stuff. But each and every one of you wants to cut out the bitter-sweet ride there. Whores.

You hollow whores. The tragedy is, you are all probably good enough to get there, and really benefit from the roller-coaster in between. Without sucking the cocks of three boring old guys.

Remember – just because lots of people watch it, doesn’t make it good. It’s a shit cake with a sugar frosting. Dave...I really recommend you check the Straitjacket Fits. That’s rock.

Posted by: tracey aka nb at August 2, 2006 04:26 AM

So.. here are my opinions on the contestants.. because I see all ya all's views.. and it makes me want to post my own.. and it's about 4 something in the morning right now.. so I've faced the fact that I've got no life anyway.. so I might as well be on here..

Zayra.. I don't get why everyone is trashing her so much on multiple websites.. Yes, she's not right for the band.. but neither are the majority of the contestants.. (In my opinion, ofcourse I could definitely be wrong.. I'm just your average young person who likes to express her opinions.. whether they are right or not)
And the whole phil being kicked off thing.. I don't see why it was such a big deal.. He most likely would have been eliminated in the next few shows or so anyway.. it's not like they kicked off Dilana.. Phil just doesn't have the "it" (whatever "it" may be..) needed to become a STAR.. he could end up a great performer possibly.. but not STAR.. Plus.. he kind of comes off as a bit of an ass.. and not in a good way.. but hey.. that's just me..
So I'm happy Zayra stayed.. I think supernova made the right decision..(especially considering the newspaper) both contestants are not right for the band.. but atleast Zayra's performances are much more entertaining than Phil's.. And I give props to her for not changing herself OR her outfits to be more accepted or more "normal".. Hooray individuality! Plus.. how many people besides her and me would have the guts to dance around in a tiny leopard wrestling-ish type of outfit? Probable not many.. I think people should lay off on the hatred towards her..
As for the show tonight..
Ryan was the best.. intense.. beautiful.. it gave me chills.. I was suprised he had it in him!
Patrice was good.. but Tommy Lee's talents stole the performance away from her.. maybe she should have been more daring? you know.. do something insane no one would see coming.. like foam at the mouth and roll around on the stage floor.. or whatever.. Just something suprising so she could steal the performance back..
Lukas.. bad night.. but he'll bounce back most likely.. we all just have our off days/nights once in a while..
Jill.. I think she screamed a tad too much and kind of brutally murdered an awesome 80's song..
Dana.. I still just can't see her as a rock singer.. I know you can make transformations.. but I just can't help but feel her new rockish, rebel-like type of attitude is just an act because she wants to go further in the competion and be more accepted by the viewers.. I can't help but feel she is more of a pop singer.. she seems nice and has got a great voice though..
Josh.. great voice.. great.. but.. not exactly the right genre for this competion.. but it was very good none the less..
Zayra.. entertaining.. and in general I liked it... I like her voice better when she sings slower songs.. the slower parts of the song weren't too bad.. props to her on the outfit!
Dilana.. great.. because she manages to make every performance of her's different.. amazing stage presence.. she's my favorite.. and I have a feeling she's the best bet to win..
Storm.. great song choice to show her versatility as a performer.. she really has an amazing voice..
Toby.. good.. but his performance kind of gets lost because there were other performances tonight that were so much more interesting.. but he's definitely talented..
Magni.. more or less the same as Toby.. but the part with him missing his family so much made me tear up.. I will admit..
And..
yeah..
looking forward to tomorrow's show.
Wow.. well after all that..My computer better not just randomly die on me before I press post..

Posted by: Marlena at August 2, 2006 04:57 AM

Dave,

Thanks for always keeping it real. And for calling a time out. I think we all needed six minutes to wrap our heads around Zayra's performance. Sigh. I was all for her heading home last week but I would never have experienced what I saw tonight if she had. I don't know whether to laugh ... or cry ... I think I settled for speechlessness.

Dilana, on the other hand, never misses a beat. Guaranteed goosebumps EVERY week.

best to you up there, from a chick down under

Posted by: maverickchick at August 2, 2006 05:10 AM

I'm sorry but I think Zayra has too go man. She ain't rockin my world, hasn't from the start. She'd be better off in a B grade horror flick!

Posted by: Tash at August 2, 2006 05:10 AM

Short comments about the contestants. If I don't comment on someone, I don't remember them and that should speak for itself.

Lukas- I liked him in the beginning. He sings like horse shit. I can't stand to listen to him and I don't think he would last 2 hours on stage.

Dilana- Golden. She needs to win this.

Ryan- Was never one of my favorite but last nights performance was GREAT.

Dana- Everytime she tries to be dirty, or mean, or dance around on stage like a rocker it looks SO GODDAMN FAKE! She looks like an uncomfortable teenager up there. Doesn't know what to do with her arms, so she keeps them at her side most of the time and when she DOES move them it's so stiff. She's a pop singer, not a rocker. Please go home.

Toby- Always one of my favorites. I liked last nights performance, but you're right. Going in the audience after Dilana... eek.. However he probably planned to do that which means he got the short end of the stick going after Dilana.

Storm- So hot. Great singer.. I could see her with this band. There is just something about her that doesn't sit right with me. Maybe it's all the "possessed by the music" faces she makes.

Magni- I love the guy, but contrary to what people thought last night was not his best.

Jill- Deserved the remarks you gave her. She's vanilla. Even though I like vanilla, I don't like my ice cream to scream at me.

Zayra- For the fucking love of all that is remotely fucking holy. Go home go home go home! I'm so sick of listening to her. Hey Gilby..HER VOCALS ARE ALWAYS OFF BROTHA!

Posted by: T. Messiah at August 2, 2006 05:21 AM

Dave,
Last week when you told Zayra to get a solo career started, I really commend you for that. I can tell that obviously your perception of her performance and artistry is more keen than the Supernova guys.. Not to knock them or anything, but I have a million times more respect for you than all of them combined..
I also loved it when you said you can grind with my band for hours (after Gilby went off on a rant)..
Hopefully next season you can find some people from the grunge era.. (I am auditioning this time for sure, I'm very upset at the quality of contestants this season..)
Maybe Kim Thayil or Chris Novoselic could be involved next year?

Posted by: Andrew at August 2, 2006 05:23 AM

I don't think overall Zayra's voice does better singing Spanish. Her accent is too strong to sing songs in English. Which she would be doing with SuperNova. I really hope she goes next or Jill.

Well, we'll all see whose head the 3 put under the SuperNova Guillotine tonight!!!

Posted by: Savvy at August 2, 2006 05:23 AM

Dave, let me ask you something do you think dalana will last 1-2 hours on stage with supernova?.I dont think so and another thing why do you insist on picking on Toby every week.your comments tonight to him were not justerfied in anyway and i thought you were a good guy but i was wrong.
Ps what the hell is wrong with supernova in keeping Zayara every week the show is becoming a joke.

Posted by: steve at August 2, 2006 05:27 AM

OMFG Dave, you are a slacker! ; )

Your comments on last night's performance show had me rolling! To Dilana: "Are those my pants?" LOL. And just your facial expressions alone after Jill's and Zayra's performances were awesome.

Posted by: Carole at August 2, 2006 05:29 AM

Morning Dave & 67's,
Great show last night! Ryan surprised the hell out of me--I didn't think he had it in him. Zayra...well...strange as usual, entertaining though in a weird way.
Shrill Jill needs to go, she's trying way to hard--Dave, right on with the commments to her, although I know you'll get crap for being "mean". I love it when you are so brutally honest!
I don't know if Lukas was sandbagging or what, but if it was a calculated move to look like he's not so dominant, it was a bad one. I think if the contestants don't take the time to learn the lyrics, they are being disrespectful and wasting everyone's time.
Tommy was awesome, but like you said, some of them disappear in front of him and Storm was one of those.
My bottom 3 = Josh, Jill and Zayra, Jill should go home.

Have a good day, all.
Love,
Sue

Posted by: Sue at August 2, 2006 05:33 AM

trying way TOO hard. oops.

Oh, and Shawn, two things--the person who post's name is BELOW the comment, not above, and the bottom three showed on my TV and they were Toby, Jill and Zayra.

Posted by: Sue at August 2, 2006 05:44 AM

Dave, thanks for the forum. I still really want to know what's going on the TPC in the past week - you and Steve seem to have gone all dark on that front. Maybe a radio show over lunch in the valley? Anyway, What the EFF was up with that show last night?! It was a total turn-over! Well, almost - you and Gilby were still the voices of reason and sanity. Jason seems to have really been taken aback by his mid-week meeting of all of these fragile egos, and he really toned it down, which I find odd as none of these guys has EVER been an ass - totally solid guys, which is one of the more enjoyable aspects of this spectacle. Jason's comment to Storm has me really wondering what she thinks she can do now - it's not like she will be able to cover "Crazy Train" or "Slide It In" in slacks and with class..., but then again, we still haven't heard ALL of the Nirvana catalogue, yet. Ugh. I have really had some favorites and they choked, in my estimation (D & L), and then the 'baggage' really came on - way too much in an AI way, but really showed that they had some talent - especially Ryan, who up until this point has been a lifeless lump. That said, I have to think that the talent scouts who rounded up this motley crew (pun intended) didn't know who the band was going to be - I think they thought they were going to be finding a front man for Coldplay, or someone equally limp, but tv friendly. Any chance for TPC in Tucson? DP

Posted by: Da Pope Of Biscuit at August 2, 2006 05:46 AM

Toby, Zayra and Jill should be in the bottom 3 tonight.

Posted by: Savvy at August 2, 2006 05:53 AM

1) I heard a commentary on TV prior to the Rock star season 2 auditions (don't remember the show). The point being reported was that contestants would be chosen as much for their 'edge' as their talent - the goal being to give the reality segments more of a 'Survivor/Big Brother' feel. (I might add that the first couple episodes were edited in such a manner IMO).

2) There is (was?) a clip on the RS site in which Storm Large reported "fights and broken furniture"

....what's goin' on, Dave?

Posted by: camp59 at August 2, 2006 05:58 AM

As always..loved Dilana! Ryan, although he reminds me of Neil Diamond, performed very well last night. It was his best yet. Storm did well but something about her bugs me and same with Patrice..She would be better off with a solo career. Zayra..maybe she doesn't cut it for Supernova but I think they should let her stick around some more...I don't think she is the suckiest one up there...I find her entertaining and can't wait to see what she does next week. Jill..should go home. The rest....no real opinion on.
Dave...lovin' your comments...you are a crack up and you also keep me comin' back for more!
Another note.....CAN'T WAIT FOR THE 15TH!

Posted by: michelle n. at August 2, 2006 06:09 AM

I want to echo Kyle's comments from a earlier post. Please lay off the Nirvana songs. There are millions of other great rock and roll songs to choose from to highlight the rockers range and talent. Dilana is awesome and thanks Dave for being so dead on honest with them.

Posted by: Jon at August 2, 2006 06:18 AM

Chiming in:

yeah Dave... great hearing you're honest comments...

because as they say...

I would rather watch Zayra's crazy antics ANY DAY than watch Jill perform again. Zayra is much more entertaining!

"Um... I think need a minute to process what it was I just saw."

Classic. That performance left me speechless as well.

Losing My Religion was the best performance so far of the season.

Oh, Dave, forgot to mention that I caught that "six minutes" comment between you and Tommy...FUNNY!! I do recall an SRL discussing that very subject a while back. :)

Dave~
I loved your comments to Jill. I actually left about 30 sec into her performance to go finish some dishes:) Dilana was fucking awesome again last night and I'm still not quite sure what Z is thinking ... she doesn't fit with this band (she's doing some fucked up rendition btw real rock~n~roll and Celine Dion).
Anyways, I love reading the posts! Lots a luv goin yer way!

On a SRL note. Would you slip in a track by
Mother Love Bone

I picked up "Apple" at a used store the other day and their music, imho, is timeless!!!
Their one of my all time favorite bands!!!

Hey dave, baby!
Watched the show last night and it was a good one. Although i am not fond of Zayara, I really liked her rendition of 867-5309, me being a Jenny and all! Still think she is not right for the band though. And what was up with Lukas last night? I did not like that he kept turning his back to the audience. What was going on with him?
Dilana kicked ass in her performance! I think she is an incredible choice for the band! I am leaning more towards Dilana!!!!
Love you much, Dave!
Checked out your doll on Ebay yesterday, and I LOVED IT!!!! You rock, baby!

Love

ok, my 2 cents worth! I think Storm, pardon the pun, has the balls to front these guys, plus she's level headed off the stage which is a HUGE plus. However get Jill off my TV screen, no way no how do I want to see her there and plus I am tired of ffing her away! Love your comments to the rockers. I dunno where TPC ended up on the VH1 thing, I but I voted for a while, good luck!

I like Zayre on only to watch the look on Gilby's face when she is singing and the remarks she gets. One question about Jill - how come it has not been mentioned she performs with TSO? I don't think she'd make it leading Supernova, but it is interesting that TSO has not been mentioned.
As for song choices - how about something obscure that only the singers who did their homework on the members of Supernova would be familiar with - (something from Col. Parker???)

What is TSO?

Don't mind that pissy raving guy..the show is great and I am sure that some of the contestants have been sweating their butts off in buses..

I was just wondering how come Magni was trashed as a Vegas lounge singer yet Ryan and Storm were given accolades for very lounge type performances last show...Can't see TL backing a guy singing solo at an acoustic piano..

Magni..I liked "Heroes" better than last nights performances and just a bit of overkill about bringing his family..trying to make the dirty rockers out to be nice guys? (ok, sure it was a crowd pleaser..)

And the sound is really off this year unless it is the crappy tv I am watching the show on..of course we want TL to come off as powerful, but they could have raised the vocal mic a bit..

Why is live Rock so loud? All the big egos telling their sound guy "make ME louder" hahhaha.

Wow, I am bitchy this am..must be the sticky heat..*goes and sticks head in the mud*..
