Performances Tonight!

Damn there are some funny rumors around regarding the show. First of all, I don't know who Janet Charlton is, but I do know who she isn't. She aint no Perez Hilton, that's for sure. At least with Perez, you get humor and the rumors are at least based in SOME fact. He leaves it up to the reader to do the dance between the two. As for Janet, she just kind of sees what sticks. Well, with Rockstar, she doesn't have a clue as to what she is talking about. If she has an inside source... Name it! Come on! I dare you! Name it! If you don't know what I am talking about... She has claimed that she knows who the winner is. Trust me... Nobody knows until it's over. In fact, if there is one thing I CAN share, it's that Supernova has yet to be on the same page with each other in terms of favorites and they are waiting to see if their ideas line up in the coming weeks based on the remaining performances. Very diplomatic and democratic style. As for the stuff about Storm being edged out through our comments... That is just stupid. Don't forget that no matter what happens, the band can throw out whoever they want for whatever reason they want. They can also save whoever they want. Hell, they don't even need reasons! It is true that the public vote shifts the game in a huge way and that Supernova considers the results every week, but there is no reason for a conspiracy! Why would anyone try to conspire something that they ultimately control anyway? Just doesn't make sense. These guys are busy writing and rehearsing, not to mention that Tommy is still doing Crue stuff on our days off. They don't have time to come up with a "master plan". The remaining six are all good and tomorrow's elimination is bound to be heart-breaking for some! Each singer has a pretty solid fan base at this point. Tonight is the night, if ever there was one, to VOTE!!! I can't wait to see what kind of shit I get on this blog after the show. Since I am already at the tapings, my game has become reading all of your thoughts after each show airs.

Remember: "The views and opinions expressed in this page and on the couch are strictly those of the page author. The contents of this page have not been reviewed or approved by CBS, MBP or Supernova. Awwww hell yeah!"

I'm very much looking forward to tonights show and will be voting for the best performer, whomever it as, as I've been doing so far.

They're all good in highly individual ways and thanks again for showing us all the talent!

As if we needed any more incentive to tune in tonight! (Can't wait)

OOOo am i the first? Yeah i think this whole consipracy thing is so silly, why do people even care that much? Just enjoy some good 'ol reality fun!! Anyways, Dave i just noticed the other night it says you are executive producer on the show, what exactly does that mean you do?!?! Just curious!! Thanks, Candice

hey dave,

i love the show and i love your blog. you update almost as often as i check in on it.

i always look forward to hearing your insider info and your opinion. i am thankful that you express your opinion, and you often reflect what i am thinking.

since i haven't commented before, i thought i'd let you know that i am voting for toby. i think dilana and lukas have been untouchable (like mig and marty last year) and they will be #2 and #3. but tommy seems to love toby, and man, he worked on stage with them last week. maybe my mind will be changed when i see someone else in front, but right now, toby's my man. even though he is almost guaranteed to be in the bottom three.

thanks again, dave. much love, kylen*

I think that people come up with these crazy ideas just to get attention. Some of the comments on this site are truly hilarious. I enjoy reading them, but as with everything, they must be taken with a grain of salt. By the way, Dave, I read your book. Now I get it.....damn!

Thanks for keeping this site going. It is absolutely fabulous.

Love to all........

i don't think it matters how many times you say it, or how many ways you say it --- there are some people who will always look for conspiracy and gossip..

i bet it's getting wearisome for you to have to repeat yourself so many times that the show isn't fixed or settled ahead of time..

i love watching the show every week, and hearing your comments, as well as SN's comments.. it must truly be an awesome experience for those singers fortunate enough to have made it onto the show and get to have feedback like yall give!!

definitely anticipating a great show tonight..

thanks for reading our comments - we love you, dave..

listening to (ONe) here in dallas today..

Anyway, can't wait for the show tonight. It is getting real hard now to vote. But Dilana is still my fav. Have a Great day Dave. Love reading your STUFF!!<:

I said it before - I'll say it again, this is a product of too much technology and too little intellect. Unfortunately kids now a days have nothing better to do then start shit. I think alot of it is being said now just to get a rise out of you - FUCK EM. Who are they going to say it to if you aren't listening????? Actually read what Storm had to say, she stood up for your comments, she knows they aren't personal. Anyway, very curious myself as to who will win. I have my favorites - but who knows.

Hey Dave,I must admit that the traffic about the whole RS:SN controversies has caused me to put the show back onto my Tivo list. That said, I don't believe in the truth of a conspiracy, either. My wife seems glad as she missed watching you, anyway. _GO LUKAS!_ BTW: Still haven't taken The Panic Channel out of my truck! -DP

Posted by: elizabeth at August 29, 2006 11:22 AM

Hey. I'm really not one to bitch and moan about conspiracies. And if The Majestic King says the winner hasn't been chosen I believe him. In all ways the guy comes off great, Supernova is an excellent diversion from my real life, and I absolutely love SRL. Having said this, I also think it's total bullshit for Dilana to get a song she's already recorded. It's up on her website, I just listened to it. Unless every singer left in the competition got a song they have already recorded as well, it seems unfair to them.

Again, I know that it's only a television show, and by nature a produced show is a form of manipulation, with the viewer agreeing to be manipulated for the sake of being enertained. But this doesn't quite seem to adhere to the nature of the contract, if you know what I mean. It has a dishonest tint to it.

Love for you to address it if you have the time, as I'm sure there's some reasonable explanation. Of course, seeing how you've already posted today to squash rumors, maybe I'm asking too much.

This does seem a bigger deal to me though than Janet Charlton.

keep up the good work.

Posted by: place for a name here at August 29, 2006 11:24 AM

damn, Dave. I don't even read your blogs anymore...I just roll right onto the tirade. I read somewhere the band formerly known as Supernova aka Suave Porn and YOU, Chappaquitik actually...wait...take deep breath...PAN STORM ON HER EVENESENCE SONG? FUCK IT DAVE, WHAT DO YOU WANT?

PS. I have this personal theory that DILANA IS ACTUALLY A MAN! So when you fuck her make sure she isn't "tucked" (ya know?...or maybe that's your thang!)

Posted by: brnduck68 at August 29, 2006 11:25 AM

OK Dave, I got it. They should just have some kind of Superpalooza. Complete Supernova with Toby and Magni on vocals, Magni on guitar. Besides Gilby needs another guitarist, he doesn't have the hot chops to fill out the sound by himself. (You could, but Gilby ain't no Dave.) (Now THAT would be a fun band.) Opening act is Dilana with House Band. Lukas with Rise Electric and Storm and the Ballz heat up the crowd earlier on. Ryan and his piano are the first act.

That way we don't have to say goodbye to anybody. I love all of these singers (well, Ryan is kinda angsty and meh sometimes) and don't want to say goodbye to any of them.

I really think this is Superpallooza's best chance of selling tickets and touring for longer than a couple of months.

The webisodes are becoming painful to watch- I am really more interested in watching the performances- both nights. I actually may not vote now, simply because all of the remaining people are incredible and I don't see any need to choose between them. I would be happy with any of them winning. I just enjoy having them on my TV every week. I am going to be right pissed when this is all over.

Posted by: arwen at August 29, 2006 11:29 AM

Well, thanks for having the show and giving me some good ol rock and roll to tune into on the TV.

I know you've all heard enough about the Dilanagate but it was worse than unprofessional to bag on her in front of an audience. You don't invite singers to show up and perform/audition where they're dressed up and putting themselves out there for the crowd and then reprimand them in front of their crowd! I respect you much Dave but that was very uncool. The professional thing would have been backstage after the show or as an actual part of the clinic in private with the other singers. Bad form, my man.

If you have Rockstar again please don't sandbag any other singers like that. It would have messed with your head too. I know you been in the game for years but who reprimands people in public like that except for abusive bosses.

Thanks for listening and hope all the singers are doing all right. There's a lot of love for them out here.

Looking forward to the show! Dave, I'm curious to know how much control the rockers have over their staged performance theatrics? Lukas got props from Jason once about the lighting highlighting a certain part during his performance, and his response was "I wanted it to do that". Do they have some input on lighting and other special effects?

Posted by: Laura0627 at August 29, 2006 11:39 AM

Rockstar's getting more and more interesting and I'm finding myself less and less interested in the outcome as time goes by.

So in that vein, some more highly important issues for Dave to address in his blog:

1: This runaway washing machine - is it a top loader or a front loader? I'd have to favour the front loaders myself, so I'd suggest you look into the Dyson washing machine - currently not available in the states I'm afraid but I'm sure your new assistant will import it and heft it up the stairs on his/her back for you. Has the ultra cool feature of contra-rotating drums so when you're spinning a cat in it you can watch it change direction. Joking!
http://www.dyson.co.uk/nav/inpageframe.asp?id=TECH/2DRUMS/QUALITY&sinavtype=pagelink

2: What's your taste in watches? Personally I'm not a fan of the Cartier, iconic though the Tank Americane is, and while Patek Phillipe can be uninspired, I quite like their 60's Bond flavour. Vulgari - really the name says it all. Personal favourites would have to be the original black-and-white Raymond Weil Othellos, and the Piaget antiplano is nice.
I only ask because I've never seen a picture of you wearing a watch so it's clearly something you've no opinion on. Hey, if you're going to be asked random crap, why not something new?

Well, all of this attention to the show is a GOOD thing. Love the show. I blog about it, so dorkily! ;)

Thing is, I DON'T have a fave.

Dilana and Lucas would fit the look.
Dilana, great voice, has the conflicted mind filled with emotion and fury. Seems like she has an interesting story to tell. Will she be stable enough?

Lucas, was not my fave, neither was JD...I was wrong there. Interesting voice.

Toby seems like he would too, esp after he did the SN song. Seems like they would have fun with it.

Storm, very dynamic, very professional. May take off on a solo venture. She might be too much for even these gents to handle.

Ryan, has grown so much. I was not fond of him at first, but he has grown on me.

Magni, just a likeable guy. Talented too.

Seems as though the reality segments are focusing on Dilana and Lucas...but maybe they are being smart and going after the drama aspect. Def gives them more face time to them.
Good TV, better ratings, more CDs sold...
Who will make them the most successful. Hmmmm...

Just ramdom thoughts...

Thanks for the fun reading Dave!

Cheers!

Dave -

I think the show is really captivating, and that your insider posts really add to the experience for fans of the show. I must say, the way you embrace the convergence of tv/print/web/radio on the "Dave Navarro" brand should be a wake-up call not just to other artist and hosts, but to other brands in general.

Anyway, aside from stroking your ego, I just wanted to let you know that your RS:SN "Darkhorse" is no longer a Darkhorse. Vegas odds on the show now have Ryan tied as a 5/6 favourite with Lukas to front the guys.

Dilana, Magni and Toby come in as 2-1, and your new Darkhorse is Storm at 5-1...

Thought you might find that interesting. You should call someone else a "Darkhorse" and see if your words have an effect on Vegas...

Cheers.

Posted by: the Sue w/horses at August 29, 2006 11:49 AM

Dave, I agree with you Ryan is growing on me. I had him in bottom 3 the first several weeks and just couldnt get past his "boy scout" image. He is serious into this business though. He takes everything so serious and comes off as a business man type approach to this audition. Which might not be so dumb. Supernova are talented artists but each one of them is also a smart businessman. With Ryan youll get good chops, some writing ability and also maturity. The kid isnt a party animal a la Lukas or Toby.
I'm afraid Tobes is going home this week. Or Storm, whom I really like and id for sure check out her music if she ever released anthing. Toby could front this band. I really believe that. But hes got some growing to do, first.
I still think its a crap shoot between Lukas and Dilana, although Magni might fool them all.

Take it EZ Dave
Peace

Dave,
I think your the shit! I look forward to reading 6767 everyday. I love what you and TPC have done, you must be so proud of oNe! I have bought my tickets to see SN regardless of who is their lead singer. I think Lucas is by far the best to lead this band but ultimately SN has to make the right choice for them.
As far as the editing of RS goes, it's all for ratings. I have not been a fan of what is/isn't shown on the performance nights to you for evaluation...but I can't change it so why bitch!?
All six of the remaining rockers add their own flavour each week and I enjoy it tremendously. I can't wait to see tonights' episode and hope that they all do well.
I'm hoping to come and see TPC somewhere in the US...but until then I'll be listening to the cd over and over and over again.....

In the Name of ALL that is UNHOLY...the message boards are full of ridiculous rumors...
SURELY no one took THAT one serious!!

As for your words being influence...well, that's true...some people take your word as Gospel (dark as it may be)...Dave..watch your forked tongue carefully!!

Keep up the good work...you are the last person on earth that still gives me nightmares!!
Gotta Love IT!

I must say, I am really digging watching the singers do their thing week in and week out. They are really very talented. All the remaining contestants could easily front a succesful band in today's day and age. Seeing Supernova perform though, a sort of finished product...has been kind of a let down for me. I can't really say the songs were that interesting, or catchy...it really seems pretty canned to me. Dilana has been my favorite performer throughout the show, and even seeing her front them didn't really help that much. I think the band either needs another guitar player because clearly Gilby is just a rhythm player who's riffs are pretty stale. Yea he was in GNR and all. That's great. But he's doing nothing that really makes their sound interesting. How about subbing him for Dave Navarro? Now you're talking!!!!

Posted by: Johnnybot at August 29, 2006 11:57 AM

You told Storm that Chappaquiddick was your safe word while you guys were bantering about the corset she was wearing...your corset, I believe ; ) Unforch that didn't make it on the air.

If I was in Supernova I wouldn't want to be on tour with a guy that's a passing out drunk (Lucas), or a gal with anger management problems (Dilana).

That said, I think Dilana is still the front runner for me. She's the whole package.

Lucas definately has an interesting presense, but his draggy, drunk, grimacing stage performance gets on my nerves.

Storm is great, but 100% a solo performer, doesn't need Supernova.

Magni is a solid singer, but not the same stage presense as Dilana. Although I know for a fact that all of Iceland (250,000) are rooting for him.

Ryan is great if I don't have to look at him, the constipated, angst ridden facial expressions are difficult to take week after week.

Finally Toby...there's something off about him for me. Maybe he's just not dynamic enough, not special enough, I just feel "whatever" about him

QUOTING DAVE:
Remember: "The views and opinions expressed in this page and on the couch are strictly those of the page author. The contents of this page have not been reviewed or approved by CBS, MBP or Supernova. Awwww hell yeah!"

HAHA! ~ That is too funny. Hell yeah, this show is getting hot! glad to see you have a sense of humor about it. I'm not surprized at all!

I find myself being a little nervous about how the show will be edited tonight since I was at the taping Sunday. Will they chop down Toby's ovation and praise? or will they show it as it was? How about the Dily-drama, will they insert canned groans? will they enhance her ovation?? Dilana sure acted as though her ovation was being enhanced. LOL! Lukas was a cutie pie for sure! Ryan was awful! will they show his performance as it appeared in person or will that be enhanced??

Dear GAWD I hope they highight Toby's back-up performance on TV with Storm! He was on stage right in front of where my face would have been if I wasn't turned around to watch Storm on the runway. DAMN! Missed it completely!

Well, I don't want to forget to throw in a nod for Magni. He was very good vocally, LOVE that song anyway.

Do you & Tommy like checkin' out each ther's nipples?? That's what I wanna know.

Glad to see Janet called on her bullshit.
I read her blog entry and never once believed it.
Just thought she was out for some media attention.
Plus if she does turn out right, her "lucky guess" will have some people not knowing if she really knew or not.

In actuality, I came across some sort of entertainment blog a few weeks back before Dilana's temper tantrums so to speak, and it stated that they knew she was the winner. When I went back a couple days later, the entry disappeared.

I think maybe her blog entry regarding the winner of Supernova will disappear as well.

You folks should see what is happening in iceland now, musicians here have but a comercial together to get people to vote. There was a show here on www.skjarinn.is for one hour just for Magni, everybody is going to be Zombies at work tomorrow, because we cant start voting until 2 a.m.
Just think about it we are about 300.000 ho live in Iceland, when the population is much more in other contesters countrys.
We are going to do all that we can so Magni can stay longer, not just to win, we just want to have him longer in the show because of his talent.

I have to say i´m sorry about my spelling :) but you folks can understand it mostly
Thanks for grate show and thank you Dave for all you have done in this :)

Chappaquitik?

Isn't that the Ted Kennedy thing? A road he was driving drunk on and had an accident and some female with was killed?

hey dave. love you on the show, you're cool.
i just had to say that magni's performance of fire was fucking amazing and the best performance of the season in my opinion. i can't understand how that guy is in the b3. i hope people realise how much talent he has & start voting for him. i personally think that the whole "he misses his family" thing that was made out to be such a big deal has ruined his chances a little. the show won't be the same without his talent so i really hope that he won't be the one going home.

Dave...Much to my suprise, when I was at the local record store on my lunch break to pick up the new GODHEAD release, I saw a cd from Zayra! Have you seen this?

Dave, isn't blogging fun..lol...

May the best rocker win (and no, you can't take out your competition by badmouthing or blinding them ;)) Dilana reminds me of that saying ~ rearringing the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I tried to buy ONe yesterday at HMV, it wasn't there...

Should be fun tonight!

Kt -- You and I must be the only ones without cell phones or computers at home :-) I'm just glad that the call-ins don't determine who goes home...that that's up to SN. They're not going to let anyone super-amazing go home.

You always said that if a TV channel had nothing but panic and hysteria on it, it would be the highest rated station.

Just look what conspiracy has done to this blog--300, 400, comments a day since it all went down. The Panic Channel, all the way...

Posted by: Schwing at August 29, 2006 01:14 PM

Dave, I still want to know about the vocals on "Lie Next To Me." What part did you sing, if you sang. Inquiring minds want to know.

As for why posts are showing up twice, just click the post button ONCE, people! It saves it, even if the next page doesn't load right. Trust it. Then hit reload.

As for the people who say Dave was out of line for spanking Dilana, if everything else is going to happen in front of cameras, everything else should happen in front of cameras, too. I hope Dave ripped her again for almost ending Magni's career.

And that's why Magni was in a bad mood at the photo shoot, you dipwads. He had a huge gash on his forehead that was being masked by a cereal box worth of makeup and Dilana is in the corner jumping on a friggin trampoline saying "I'm Back! I'm Back!" Where the bleep did she go?!

Burned myself a CD of some Lukas stuff and "Kiss Me" by Cleavage and almost all of the Rise Electric stuff is pretty incredible. I love the sound. I want more. It's NOT RIGHT FOR SUPERNOVA. Let's focus on that, please? Same goes for Storm.

Toby, love him or hate him (including you, Dave) is the right fit for the band. Magni should lead the House Band forever more.

Dilana, who chants her own name to ruin a classic love ballad, who writes songs that my 5-year-old cousins would think are cheesy, who thinks only of herself and obviously has no regard for others (whether it's in the press or ignoring their safety by shattering glassware near their faces) has no business being in the music business. I don't see the attraction AT ALL.

Ryan is a mess too. The squinting, the forced "angst" and the underdog attitude still don't mask that he's really not that good of a singer. Watch the first webisode and you'll see that his "out of nowhere" approach was completely strategy. Not singing for Supernova in the studio was complete stupidity, but apparently it worked and has kept him around this long.

One last question, Dave, as executive producer, can we have a week where Storm wears nothing but that football jersey she was given? You know, to kick off football season. And make sure she has to dance around a lot.

Dave someone already explained the Chappaquitik thing. It was you bantering with Storm. I read it on a forum and picked up on it. You know how you do!

I've just finished reading Don't Try This At Home. Since noticing you suddenly this year on RS:SN I've been listening to your solo album, LOVING The Panic Channel & tried the book as well. Totally interesting stuff. It did make me incredibly sad reading the ending where you were so happily married to Carmen, knowing that that dream is now over.

If it's any comfort to you, I split with my husband who is still my best friend. And in some ways that's a much healthier relationship for both of us. I wish you the same joy and send you heartfelt love and hugs.

As for Rockstar.... the remaining 6 performers are all so great, the shows will be great. I can live with people being sent home except for Lukas, who I think should take this thing!!

I will heed your advice and VOTE MY ASS OFF for Lukas tonight!

Still patiently awaiting announcement of Panic Channel Toronto tour date....how will your trip to India fit in with that??

Hello David! Just catching up on your blog. Fun times, eh? I have been enjoying your video for Why Cry and I've just got to say that Steve is a very good-looking bloke. And he sings well, too. I saw you on MM last week and must say you two make a very handsome couple. ;^) I hope The Panic Channel does well for you. I also heard that The Panic Channel will be playing with Supernova on a few selected shows? Is that true? If so that would be totally awesome.

And now on to the show. I just want to say that all along, even in my criticisms I hope I never lost sight on the fact that is it what is good for SN that is paramount. So what does SN need in a front person. For me they need a strong songwriter, one who can write good melodies and interesting lyrics. They need someone who can play guitar because a rhythm guitarist is always handy to have just to add a bit more muscle during a performance. You can have a kick ass studio recording but if the song sucks live then what's the point. For me it's the live version that counts the most. They need someone who is a strong vocalist not necessarily the one with the best voice. And by strong vocalist I mean someone who can interpret the song and add nuance and texture. They need someone with a strong personality to play off Tommy. Gilby and Jason are strong people but the one who's personality leaps out of the tv at me week after week is Tommy's. They need someone who won't be fighting against it but can compliment it. And someone who has a ton of sex appeal and charisma. Ok, so the last point is missing in this particular crop of hamsters but I'm sure that can be worked out somehow. Maybe put Tommy front and center. The man has sex appeal even if you feel like you would want to wash yourself in disinfectant afterwards. ;^)

I feel that there is not one hamster that has all of the qualities that I think SN would be looking for. So I think the most important quality would be the song writing. Everything else can be worked around but if you don't have strong, well crafted songs you may as well go home.

Anyway, that's my .02. Ymmv. And by the way, when doing your laundry remember to sort properly. You don't want everything to turn pink now do you.

Love to you always.

Hey Dave,
I don't think you would be violating any secrecy rules by telling us if there is an unwritten rule about the singers not selecting songs originated by the 3 bands represented by Supernova. I would love to hear Lucas sing Unforgiven.

Dilana use to be my favourite but she killed it! How is it possible to be that stupid? Oh well she said she was sorry but really, think before you act!
So now I have no clue who to vote for.
I'm from Iceland so the media here is brainwashing us, Vote for Magni, Magni is the rockstar and who knowes what else everywhere.. But I will not vote for him unless he deserve it, wich I didnt think he did last time.
Ryan I'm starting to like very much, first I thought he was nothing spesial but he has aproved alot.
As for Luckas, he has a great voice when he use it rigth but I'm not sure he coult do it.
Storm.. well she has annoyed me from the first show and I have no clue why. But she has a strong voice and I wish her all of my luck.
Toby.. just not Supernova's type in my oppinion. Still, I'm not Supernova so I'll just shut up about that..

Anywhore, it's your page, Dave, so hey, I'll shut up about Rockstar: Supernova.
Your music is awsome, I like your solo prodeckts more than the panic channel's.. And nice blog btw. Aand..
uhm..
Hope to see you in Iceland somtime;)

Hey Dave,

I really love this show, but Magni is the best he does not need any bad hate mail to make him a part off the Lukas and Dilana bullshit, I think that is what is great about him. He is not involved there are mostly good comments posted about him. Ya I see your point somewhat about having people love and hate you when it comes to the press etc. I really don't think you need any hate though when your are just starting a band that will all come in due time. You are better off starting out with love. AND THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE WITH MAGNI, HE IS MAGNIficent!

I just have to say that Ryan is the best in my eyes becuase he has the best performances. Sure they are all great on the show but the next day who's song from the night before sticks out in your mind? For me its only Ryan's. And I have found a lot of Ryan's solo work and loved it. If the other contestants' work is out there then its been either hard to find or nobody is talking about it.

I like all of the final 6 for different reasons but at the end of the day Dilana and Lukas have a lot of fans because of their personalities but Ryan has a lot of fans because of his performances.

Dave, love your Spread Radio music picks. Makes local radio look PATHETIC. Gimme more. I mean PLEASE gimme more. (Manners n shit.)

PhanTim true dat, by this point Rockstar should be all about Supernova. Good list of what they need. Agree on the songwriting. Their bedtracks are rockin but their 2 finished songs could be better.

Thanks for the laundry tip. I learn all kind of shit on here.

Rock on kids.

Another reason to vote like crazy is Brooke said on last week's show that the difference between in and out of bottom three was "a handful" of votes. However many that is, if she wasn't blowing smoke, that's a good reason to do your part.

Posted by: justin at August 29, 2006 01:42 PM

My guess is as follows:

Tommy - Lukas
Gilby - Dilana (hell he played with Heart)
Jason - Dilana

I also guess that they won't ever agree on this. So, they may have to offer the gig to both. Question is, would both accept it?

They NEED NEED NEED Lukas for his song-writing and arranging (he rocks). They NEED NEED NEED Dilana for her "stadium rafter shakin" vocals. They need BOTH their fan bases - bad.

Dave, could we have a double winner here? Seems to me would make for a great concert.

Dave Navarro is so cool he wrote into his own blog. And some of the "dipwads" still went on and on about their own little creative masterpieces and didn't even seem to notice. Very funny. It's all very funny. You know when someone ain't Perez Hilton, they ain't very much at all. Conspiracy theories are the American way, people. Good thing a Brit created the show.

Dave's blog is the best. You know, "Keep on Bloggin in the Free World" could be Dilanna's next hit. And we could write the rest for her too cause you know we'd have to.

I hope Dilanna goes soon. She's like a gothic gargoyle. All proud to be perched in a rooftop and sulking.

That is, they were laid back and flexible during the photo shoot. Dilana could turn it on. The Dark Horse looked a bit uncomfortable, as did Magster.

Hey Dave. :-) It’s inspiring to see you in such fine form, hilarious as always, and full fighting spirit, today. LOL Borrowing a favourite word from Lukas: “Booyah!? bro… :-) One thing I forgot to mention last night… Critics tend to be people who have attempted, but failed, at whatever they’re criticizing… That’s why I cheerfully ignore the often caustic nonsense they spout. Don’t let the TPC reviews get you down, dude. You’re the ones up on stage rocking out in front of legions of appreciative people. Critics… they’re probably in their dungeons petting Mr. Bigglesworth (“Austin Powers? ;-) ) and wondering why their master plans to dominate the galaxy have not yet come to fruition. ;-) Like I said yesterday, you’re our guy when it comes to an insider’s perspective about “RS:SN.? Without being a sycophant or toady LOL, I’m often surprised that I find myself in complete accord with most of your opinions and comments. It’s almost a shame, because you’d make an excellent opponent for a verbal sparring match. LOL But, then again, you’d just make me collapse into a heap of laughter and that would be the end of it, right there. ;-) I heard one comment in advance that you made at a recent show taping that had me scratching my head. That was quickly replaced by the affirmation of the fact that you are entitled to say, think and feel whatever the (insert colourful phraseology—I’ll save the actual swearing for when I’m in chat or at my own blog LOL ;-) ) you want. Your honesty and take-no-prisoners (and no BS) attitude are just more things I dig about you. I had to laugh last night when listening to SRL and someone tried to tell you to do something, like go eat dinner or where to go eat. I just gave a mental “headshake? and thought, oh dear, Dave is not the kind of guy to try and tell what to do. LOL ;-) (‘Takes one to know one…’ ;-) ) Back to “RS:SN…? The show will be over soon and perhaps your blog will return to a peaceful state after that. Sorry the “Troll-B-Gone? wasn’t 100% effective… It’s like using antibiotics, the Trolls develop immunity and then it’s “superbug? syndrome all over again. ;-) You won’t be getting any crap from this corner of the world post-show and shouldn’t be getting it from anywhere else, either. But, alas, the indigenous species “profundis ignoramus spoutoffalotus? frequently escapes from its nature preserve and tramples things before being recaptured. Have a good one, man. I’ll be out of commission busy voting tonight, so any additional comments here may come in late even for my Night Owl style. ;-)

you know dave it is kind of strange to me that people come here just to bash you. while i have been a fan of jane's for a long time...it had been a long time since i had really listened to much of jane's until i saw INXS last year. and that is when i started coming here to your blog and when i met such wonderful people. i do not remember everyone getting their panties in such bunches last year as they are this year.

but just think: it is almost over and hopefully the haters will go away. and what you will have left are those of us that have been here for a while (and those that have always been here) as well as many, many more new fans. welcome people!

Wow... I never knew there could be so much drama revolving around a tv-show. It's not just any tv-show, but still... It's kind of funny how people can't find anything better to do than to think of conspiracies. I remember that those were better in the old days (JFK, Area 51, etc). Oh well.. Have a great show!

Look, even IF SN has already picked the eventual winner... SO WHAT? It is their damn band and their damn choice to make.

At this point, the only say we, the viewers, have is to keep our fave on the stage for as long as possible. It's ALL good. So, vote!!

Personally, I see it like Dave sees it... Each of the guys has a fave, but it isn't an across the board favorite yet.

Hell, my 76 y/o mother thinks you are da bomb. Thanks for your blog and I'm diggin The Panic Channel big time. I look at it this way... what would reality TV be w/o conspiracy theories... gives the naysayers something to do with narrow minds and limited time. It's too bad you even have to respond to it. To you, SN and the hamsters: ROCK ON and thanks for he entertainment.

Back to the serious issues of the day;

Christy, I totally appreciate your concerns about lack of sales and service, however the wonder of all things Dyson is that they're built properly by proper British "Mad Scientist" engineers. Dyson went through 5,000 prototypes before finishing the first hoover (vacuum), and the theories they went through trying to re-invent the washing machine were properly mental. They don't break down. I strongly suggest you try out the dual cyclones.

Hey Dave!

Thanks fr letting us share.

Two questions:

About the special effects....do the rockers have intput into that?

Secondly:

When Dilana wrote the lyrics to the SN track, they were extremely corny. Also, it turns out that they are quite similar to her video "Breakfast in Central Park" as is the melody she used. I believe she didn't write that, but am not positive. Any comments on that?

Have a good one. Take care

Hey Dave, just wanted to say thanks for letting us have an insiders look at everything. The new record is great, and I've got so many people hooked on Rockstar. This year has been so much better than last IMO. I hope there is another next year, but I wonder with TPC and the product how much time you'll have. Thanks again for everything.

So glad I was finally able to garinsh DSL in the boonies (yes - there are freaking people in the middle of nowhere still dealing with dial up!) Was able to vote fast and furious last week and plan to do the same this week! My conspiracy- may have to vote for all of them!

Posted by: Scansalot at August 29, 2006 03:23 PM

I just would like to say that I do not see what everyone sees in Dilana. She is not right for Supernova and she even acknowledges it in her latest blog. DILANA SAID

"I learnt that I am in control of ME & nobody else. My goal is my career – with or without S.Nova."

Now that to me DOES NOT sound like someone who truly WANTS to front this band. I just don't get it.

If you look at Lukas's blog however, you will see that all he wrote about is how GREAT SUPERNOVA'S NEW TRACKS ARE!!!!! He is really EXCITED ABOUT THE MUSIC!!!!!!! In the end, LUKAS IS THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS BAND!!

Posted by: Amy at August 29, 2006 03:30 PM

Someone posted as me which is scary in a kind of Matrix Agent Smith kind of way... (Mr Anderson) anyway Hi Dave, how are you doin? xx
RS SN ...
Look, Lukas is annoying me. He's talented but realistically he's too short to front Supernova! He just STILL doesn't open up his vocals often enough.
Magni - I TOTALLY agree with the flippant comment about Magni fronting the house band! Great idea! Magni is a star but maybe not a supernova.
Ryan - needs a personal shopper to help choose new wardrobe / image consultant.
Storm - great cept for when she's murdering disco.
Toby - sweetie.
Dilana - sounds like liquid metal. I would love to hear her cover a Metallica track like Nothing Else matters or Enter Sandman cos the more I listen to her the more that's what she reminds me of.
Dilana looks the part infront of the guys but really at this stage, Toby, Dilana or Magni for Supernova..
Silky Kisses.
Xx

Tomorrow Toby says Goodbay.
Ryan is the frontman of SN from the first episode or even early of that.

Posted by: Janet at August 29, 2006 03:33 PM

I'm still pissed at Phil for getting himself booted. The more the show goes on the more I can see him fronting the band, but it's too late now. "Feed Your Head" is still my favorite RS performance of all time and Jason looked like he was having a blast playing that with Phil all those weeks ago. The only other front person I can see with the band is Dilana. She's a natural with them. Anyway, looking forward to tonight's show!

Dave,

Great job with SN - the show is fun to watch. I do have to cry foul on the viewer choice picks though. Every contestant got the wildcard - that says LOUD and CLEAR - we don't want repeat performances - even if they were great. But the wildcards choosen for each didn't seem cool. Dilana's was "mother mother" a song she is very familiar with, has performed on stage before this competition and recorded. Lucas and Storm on the other hand got very hard songs to perform that they don't connect with. I think on a whole a lot of the audience is fed up with the SAME songs. C'mon there have got to be more rock songs to pick from. We are hearing the same songs as last year and then hearing them over and over again this year. Please pass this feedback. Mix up the music more - more originals - no more repeats.

I'll be tuning in though - even for the repeats.
Rock on - PC is great too btw.

just listened to a replay of the phone call Storm made to one of the local rock stations here in Portland yesterday. she was kind enough to take the time to clear up some of the rumors about Dilana. i have to say i was on the fence about Storm, but i'm now on her side. still want Dilana to win.....Stormy is a bad bad girl and needs a spanking in a bad way. (tee-hee). would love to see her fetish photos.

finally had enough $$ to purchase (ONe) today. can't wait to play it!!

Dave, i have to say it....you are so YUMMY!!!!

Posted by: ddhoney at August 29, 2006 03:35 PM

Hey, Dave!
My name's Samira and I'm from Brazil! The Rockstar show is not very well-known here, and I only watch it because some really good people post it on the net. But I love it!

I can't believe you really read all the comments after the shows, but I'm writing it anyway.

I just watched the week 9 show and I can't understand Supernova's dislike of Storm. Everybody I talked to thought her presentation was just AWESOME. She's awesome. I think as a band they'd be most successful with her, considering the type of music/show they want to do. Are they intimidated by her?

But Dilana is still my favorite, I really like her voice. I hope her fans still love her despite her declarations on the media clinic.

Finally, I really have to say one more thing...you're SO HOT! :D

Kisses =^.^=

P.s: Sorry about any language mistakes. As I said, English is not my first language.

Hey Dave,

We always enjoy your input on things. You seem to have a level head and an interesting point and perspective. Of course I'm refering to Rockstar. Sometimes my girlfriend and I don't agree with you - or with each other - but we appreciate the honest effort you put in.
For years we've watched singing shows and we've always felt it's good, but there was something lacking. I mean how do you know what you want when you haven't seen it yet? We're not visionaries in this field. When we started watching Rockstar INXS last year we realized that the passion, style, energy, performance, etc... everything was so much better than anything before. It's kind of like we returned back to the professional performances on Ed Sulivan and others, but with an up-to-date rock flavour. Thanks for doing your part to bring Rockstar to TV and help us really enjoy Rock'n Roll music in a new way. I have to say I really respect a person who says they're going to do something and then they actually deliver - I'm refering to bringing attention to Dilana's actions last week. And we hope the show goes on for years to come with you and Brooke there doing your thing.
Also, I can't remember if you participated in a performance last year. Are you planning to join the rockers on a tune this season just to change things up a bit?

Cheers

Can't wait for tonights show! With the past shows it was pretty obvious who was going home. But now it's intense because as you said before-at this point everyone is great. We have our favorites but IMO no one totally sucks out of who is left. And Wednesday will be very interesting.

Posted by: Savvy at August 29, 2006 04:29 PM

I have to chime in due to last weeks performances. I only got to see them last night and I have a little to say about "the dark horse’s" performance. While I understand that all music is somewhat "borrowed" from other musicians- I think that BLATANT plagiarism needs to be addressed. The "original" piece that Ryan played- while good- was COMPLETELY a rip off of numerous other songs.

The opening riff is almost note for note to "The package- A perfect circle" (minus the drums), The rest of the song is a combination of about 10 different Matthew Good songs- which I noticed Ryan listed in his "favorite" musician columns. If you’d like to get a listen as to where this song is such a rip off- listen to any of the following albums.
1. Last of the ghetto astronauts
2. Raygun

So honestly- while Dilana got shit on for her comments- I am somewhat inclined to agree.. with a slight change. Ryan would be nothing without Matthew Good!

Dave speaking of rumors I read on another site that you were thinking about closing down your blog because of all the post about the show, it that true? If so why, weren’t you just the one saying how important the Internet is, you should be stoked people even care. There are so many shows for people to watch. I work in the industry and buzz is everything, clients pay big bucks just to build buzz. I found this site from another RS:SN site then started reading about your new CD, I loved you with both Jane’s Addiction and RCHP. So I went to iTunes listen to your new CD loved and bought it. Buzz is good.

I also love that you read your blog and understand the importance of the Internet, so many artist still do not get it.

I actually just listened to what Dave said on SRL, and he was talking about all the STUPID ASS QUESTIONS people keep asking him. And all the STUPID ASS conspiracy theories people can't seem to get over. (My words not his) He’s not in the band, he doesn’t know what Supernova thinks, (he hasn’t taken that mind reading class at the local Jr College yet), and he’s sick of people giving him shit about the show. I’m not trying to speak for DN, but since I literally just heard it on the rotation loop I thought I'd throw that out there!

Hi Dave!
A wee critter chewed on the lines about a mile
away, and OOPS! no power! Life in the woods.
Catching up on reading here.
Indian food. Nice concept. You must be a spice
fiend! I had rice and water, after two forkfuls
of whatever it was that was served. My vocal
chords froze, and I looked like I was at a three-
hanky "chick flick"--could not stop my eyes from
watering. Thank heaven for Pepcid.
Supernova: PLEASE PLEASE! Dave! Write 'em a
check if you must: PLAY!!! I"m sure that Gilby
is a nice man. But he doesn't have your fingers,
Dave.
Media: Oh, boy. My family would be visiting me
on weekends if media hounds pestered me. I don't
know how you cope with that stuff; one would
think that civility would let them know when they
have crossed a line.
Laundry: Remember: dilute the bleach before you
add it to the washer...lingerie on delicate cycle
please! Maybe a housekeeper?????
(OnE): On cut 3. First 2 kick-ass. I'm happy.
But also listening to Bach cello sonatas. And
trying to get my fingers to cooperate with an
F chord. Not good. Neighborhood cats occasionally yowl..
Have good week, sending you love--awolf.

Storm is awesome. I have a girl crush on her. Her versions of 'Pinball Wizzard' and 'Everyting' were electrifying. She's just flat out awsome. Magni rocks. I love his performances and personality. Ryan is killer and, to me, the best vocalist. I also thought his performances of late have stood out the most - hey, he's the only one who has done a double encore? right. I love Dilana's performances, she is entertaining, but her voice is monotone and I don't think I could sit through two hours of that. The same goes for Lukas. Toby is the total package, great voice, entertaining, changes it up, likes to party and the girls love him. I think he'd fit in great. However, I think Supernova will choose Lukas. Before the show even started, Tommy said he wanted someone scary to front the band. That would be Lukas or Dilana, but based on the reactions to Lukas' performances and the drama that has plagued Dilana, I'd give it to Lukas. I hope I'm wrong, and Supernova totally goes outside the box and picks someone no one ever expects (wouldn't that make for great TV?). Anyway, I'm starting to get sad that it's all going to be over pretty soon. Not only will I miss the show, but I'll really miss seeing Dave on TV twice a week. He's not just entertaining and brilliant, but he is just gorgous, gorgous, GORGOUS!!! Dave, thanks for posting on a regular basis, I look so forward to reading what you have to say every day. You rock, dude. Be true to yourself....and keep on doing what you are doing so well. Don't let the skeptics get to you. We, your fans, know how awesome you are and trust in you.

Much love,
T.T.

I don't know what the hell everyone is going on about Dilana for...seriously she fucked up but that doesn't mean she needs to lose. Everyone of those guys has fucked up on that show. Ryan talked shit about Dana on camera...did anyone say anything about that? Lucas said some shit about people too...I don't see anyone jumping on this shit. Just because she actually knows her talent and was never in the bottom three doesn't mean shit. She could lose...but so could everyone else...has it ever occured to anyone it's up to the guys...it is an audition/contest. People are so retarded. Just leave her alone...she ain't hurtin' anyone but herself...so let her deal with it.

Ok I know some of you think Dilana's original song on the clinic was pretty awful the lotion and thong song.Well I heard Breakfast in Central Park was the basis to this song and it's pretty crappy in it's own right.

Buuuttt,I just stumbled across a song she did as Dilana Smith called Kiss a Butterfly.LMFAO!I know it's piling on but ya gotta track this one down and give it a listen.Man I really hope she get's to do an original on the show and it's this one.The lyrics in this puppy make the worst country song I ever heard look pretty damn good.

g'day dave
firstly i would like to say after listening to your radio show for the first time yesterday it was great i can't wait until your live again. To hear your thoughts on all things including topics such as the jonbenet case was amazing keep up the great work.
after last nights show i must say it is great to see that dilana does indeed break down, some would probably see it as a flaw, i see it as she has truly shown us that she is human with feelings that run deep although she needs to give herself a break.
all this conspiracy theory bullshit is just that SHIT some people aren't happy to just watch and enjoy talent such as there is on RS:SN they would rather spend their time trying to find a loophole in the outcome, i think you are all doing a great job and i am glad i am not in the position that Gilby, Tommy and Jason are in with having to find a singer it seems way to hard to choose.
ok love to all great job and tell toby we want to see more of that naked flesh
luv col

1. I would much rather hear some information on upcoming The Panic Channel tour, is it true you are touring with Supernova?

2. And as for SRL and your blogs being inundated with RSSN, maybe a stop would be put to it with more entries that have to do with you talking about the MUSIC YOU ARE MAKING? I know I am infinitely more interested in hearing more about the record, whether there is going to be a video for the second single, Teahouse of the Spirits, confirmation of Houston Buzzfest, etc.

3. What of Camp Freddy's single release on September 4th of Surrender? Heard a preview on CFR on Saturday, awesome guitar work!

i tried to post this earlier but my computer refused...(so if it shows up later, sorry)

i find it strange that people will come to your blog to say stupid, hateful things. i have been a fan of jane's for a long time but i had not listened to them in a long time...until i saw you on INXS last year. which is when i stumbled upon your blog and all of the wonderful people on here. funny though, i do not remember everyone getting their panties in such bunches last year over the reality show. huh.

anyhow, just a few more weeks dearest dave and hopefully the haters will go away. and what you will have left are all of us that love you. your fans that know how much of a good person you are. those of us that have been here for awhile, others that have been here since the beginning, and the new faces that have only recently found this place. how cool is that?

After reviewing some viewer comments on the rockstar thread, I feel that some people have watched one too many American Idol episodes. This show is for a "ROCK STAR"; the very essence of a "ROCK STAR" since the inception of rock is to be cocky, arrogant and out of control. Unfortunately, cocky, arrogance and out of control on a chick, gets judged the way Dilana is being judged, a little bit of a double standard. Normalcy is not the issue or nor should it be what a rock band should be looking for; eccentric, lively and an performer that doesn't let you forget each and every performance, is what it is going to take to put the band on the map. The public does not need to judge the contestants on anything other than do they make this band ROCK; will the shows be memoriable; let the band deal with personality issues; because they probably don't want someone "normal" as normal would melt down in the long run.

Funny stuff from Janet \"dry twat\" Charlton:

Dave Navarro is calling you out! Ha, ha ha: THAT is a GREAT concept for a NEW Reality TV show actually!
Dave the Dwarf rings people doorbells to CALL THEM OUT: They open the door, but they cannot see him. He gets their attention by slapping his meat snake across their legs. Every episode ends with him being chased off the property with a garden hose. He always trips over a garden gnome who has a signature catch phrase \"Oy Dave, Nice Cock!\"

LOL
----------
Yeah, you\'re probably right, given the character assassination of Dilana that Mark Burnett started last week and will continue through this week. But, I would prefer Dilana; I think she performs more for the audience; whereas, Lukas performs for himself.

----------
Well the boys did say they wanted a dark rocker. At least with Lukas, Tommy will have someone to share eye liner secrets with.

In the end it does not matter ALL of the rest are more talented and they need a more powerful machine than SuperGeezer can deliver.

Has anyone noticed how bad (as health) Tommy Lee looks? I think I need to change my dead pool pick from Keith Richards to Tommy Lee.

Posted by: Janet \"dry twat\" Charlton at August 29, 2006 05:36 PM

Jojo, don't get so upset.......did you use the name Tracy when you posted????? If not, then I'm not talking about you. Anyway, as for the smiley face thing, I just think it's too over used and immature. If you have a problem with that, then I guess you have the right to smack me, but I stand by how I feel. Let's concentrate on what's important...Supernova, and more importantly, our man, Dave. Right, sister? Peace!

Posted by: Tracy T at August 29, 2006 05:38 PM

Ok, I'll cop to the rumor mill: I, someone who has not been seen on the stage with the House Band or SN am the real winner. Yup...it's me alright...really!!

It's all been a ploy to give the 15 folks you have seen or are still seeing a chance to strut there stuff and a great opportunity for the viewers to see some talented folks.

I will rule the stage in my wheelchair and try not to get caught up in all the wires and stuff or run over anyone's toes in the process. I don't drink so the boys will always have a designated driver should we be somewhere that a limo, taxi, or helicopter can't get to.

And I will sign autographs! May not be mine but perhaps someone like Abby Hoffman or Angela Davis or maybe even Country Joe (who knows where his fish buddies are). Or I'll simply have my kid sign things for me.

I watch the show for the entertainment value.

Lukas comes off as a bit smug but then that is because he knows I will be the winner.

Toby, Ryan, Magni - cuties and I may make them back up singers/dancers - you know, like Tina does!

Storm - she is tall so she can stay and get all the stuff I can't reach.

Dilana - Like the girlfriend and perhaps when I am just too tired of singing, she can sub for me. No wait on that one - I might lose my job. Ok....Dilana make up, hair and wardrobe and back up singer.

Ok, so now that the outcome of this summer's RS adventure is known....go by Dave's new CD. Hey Dave, did you cut any on vinyl - I could dig out the turntable!

Everyone of the rockers left are very talented individuals - just like last year. So given them props and let the boys who will be having to work with them make the hard decisions about who goes and who stays.

One more reminder to everyone upset with Dilana - remember JD? He created havoc, disharmony, and understood that if you are really in this gig to win - like it or not - you have to cover your own ass and let the others worry about covering theirs.

Dilana threw a glass and it broke and unintentionally Magni got a cut on his head. Bummer as we said back in the day. JD and the final 5 or 6 trashed one or more of the mansion's rooms with their birthday cake food fight - not worrying about how expensive the stuff in that joint probably is. Remember - this is how rock stars act and get rewarded for it.

Oh well, back to the studio to lay down those vocals. Hope to see all of you at the SN concerts.

Wastay from the BB

Please sir, can you lower the mike a bit when your talking to the camera so we can see more of your pretty face?
On another note, Dilana, who has the most talent in my opinion, will also have the broadest appeal. I hope she doesn't compromise to please the cameras, press or whomever because that will kill her creatively.
Much obliged

Hey Dave,

I checked out the chicks site and I believe she was just trying to get her name out there ! I wish you didn't name her because then I wouldn't have done a google search and wasted my time and energy! Thanks for your website you keep me all the way in Australia up to date with all the news and sneak previews on the show, love the show, and most recently bought Panic Channel awesome ! My weeks are filled with Supernova, good luck with the rest of the show, and your band and hope to see you in Australia some time soon, maybe on the Big Day Out ??

I think Dilana self destroyed...her pathetic sobing was sad.

Posted by: Tracy T at August 29, 2006 06:10 PM

If tommy is looking for a drunk to front the band like vince does for the Crue, then he's got it in lukas. But, I thought the reason tommy and vince didn't get along was because of vince's drinking? So why would he want that again???????????

Anyway, it's the tommy lee project, isn't it, so do our votes even matter??

Posted by: Tracy T at August 29, 2006 06:25 PM

Magnik f-ing rocked nirvana!

Posted by: Tracy T at August 29, 2006 06:26 PM

Am I the only one out there tonight???????????

Posted by: Tracy T at August 29, 2006 06:27 PM

Lukas can really perform, but with the way he voices, he slurrs the words so that I can understand them. What's up with that?

Posted by: Tracy T at August 29, 2006 06:33 PM

I didn't see the webisode, so all I got of Diyawnagate was what was shown tonight. I'm honestly sick just unto death of that cowardly broad. Please - no more "mama drama".

Posted by: Kell at August 29, 2006 06:56 PM

Dave, your radio show is a hoot!! Gotta be careful you don't slap yourself too hard... that was so funny.

I hope that girl gets her hoodie or t-shirt. There is only one post office in Canada, don't worry about what province, as long as ya have her first name and street number she'll get it..lol..;)

Posted by: vicki at August 29, 2006 06:58 PM

Yes! I'm so thrilled I get to hear your show! I wish I could record it. Kids. LOL

Doesn't Tommy start the tour with Aerosmith/Crue before Rockstar: Supernova is overwith?

Posted by: SJ at August 29, 2006 07:01 PM

Dave, what are you thinking? Dilana's perf. was the weakest of the night, and you think it was the best in both seasons?!?! Crazeeeeeeee :)

Posted by: bajatango at August 29, 2006 07:01 PM

I feel like I should pay to have seen tonights show. F'n Awesome!

Posted by: Cosina at August 29, 2006 07:03 PM

Hey Dave,

2 things who the fuck is talent scouting for rock singers in Canada? You find a guy living in his car under a bridge and now this dude is flipping chicken wings? That's sauted in all kind of wrong sauce.

Ryan was awful I can't believe you guys gave him even pretty good comments and I don't mean the lame ass piano jumps his vocals were brutal just fucking horrible.

Posted by: KeithMoonLives at August 29, 2006 07:04 PM

This really sucks. I decide to vote after all, and I keep getting error messages, over and over. So, for the record, I was going to vote for Dilana, Storm and Lukas. What the hell, Dave?

Posted by: arwen at August 29, 2006 07:06 PM

Dave,

I am trying to vote for Lukas but the web site keeps crashing! What the hell is going on?!

Posted by: Beth at August 29, 2006 07:08 PM

I can't vote, either.

Posted by: Kell at August 29, 2006 07:10 PM

quick comments

Storm - I usually don't like her - and I thought she was pretty good tonight. Not sure why Gilby dumped on her. I actually thought she did a great job (better then Jill).

I loved Lukas. As always he just eats up the stage.

I dunno I really just didn't like Dilana tonight. Maybe I'm just sick of hearing about her ALL the time? It's like Dilana overkill or something. Can't we move on and show a little more of all of them instead of her all the time?

Toby did an awesome job on both songs. I really like him he's got alot of character.

Ryan - well he always came off as a JD wannabe to me. I still don't see him fronting this band but that's just my opinion ;)

I really like Magni. He did a great job tonight. He's just a no bullshit kind of guy and seems to be the one who keeps things on an even keel.

/cheers

hmmm one of these days I really need to listen to SRL

Posted by: Serafina at August 29, 2006 07:11 PM

Dave, I really hope someone will bring the fact that people have been unable to vote tonight to the appropriate powers that be.

Posted by: Kim at August 29, 2006 07:16 PM

can't vote either.

Just keep getting runtime errors

Posted by: Serafina at August 29, 2006 07:17 PM

Guess what, Dave? I can't vote for my pick because the server is too busy. Not my server, because I can surf and get my mail. The MSN server. I have to wonder if there isn't some string pulling this week. Twelve minutes is a long time for a touch typist to vote, and last week's elim ep said only a handful of votes made the difference. Well, if only a handful of votes make the difference this week, I'll know who to blame.

Posted by: Lisa from Burlington at August 29, 2006 07:17 PM

holy shit the server crashed during voting tonight!!! i tried voting several times but was shut out by the rockstar.msn.com server... hope this doesn't screw up the totals. it's so hard to vote now - i still love dilana but i don't want magni to go and toby was awesome...
guess i'll have to keep fingers crossed!

I can't even get on the damn site to vote!

My mother called me, flipping out: "Lukas is in the bottom three! What do I do? How do I vote?"

Posted by: shawna at August 29, 2006 07:19 PM

Dave,

Keep getting error messages every time I vote for Lukas.

Initial 3 in the bottom 3 at the beginning of the night will hardly be accurate!

Posted by: Beth at August 29, 2006 07:19 PM

Dave,

Tonight's show was the best I have seen yet! You were right on with Toby stealing it away from Storm. He did awesome on it! Toby, Magni, Diliana, and Lucas all did awesome on their songs. I am wondering what someone from the audience said while Jason was talking about Ryan's losing his leadership of the band when not in front of the piano. Can you let us know? It was muddled out! My predictions would be that either Storm or Ryan go home this week because their performances weren't as strong as the others. Maybe it could be another double elimination! Who knows!?! Diliana kicked ass on her song! My husband even liked it and he hasn't been too keen on her since the beginning.

Can't wait to see it tomorrow night!

P.S. - The person you were writing about in your blog about the conspiracy and all that wants one thing. DRAMA!!!!!

Take care!

Posted by: SheilaB at August 29, 2006 07:20 PM

I keep getting Runtime Error, ive been reading that nobody can get votes in, i hope it gets up soon because a handfull counts and we all missed out on 25 mins of hard core voting time on our fave rockers.

Posted by: Michelle at August 29, 2006 07:20 PM

Is anyone else having trouble voting?? Fuck. I keep getting server errors from msn. I think that it's Storms turn to go home tonight. Dilana proved that she deserves to be there, she really rocked it out! Bottom three.....Storm,Ryan and Magni. Can't wait to see tomorrow night's show.

Posted by: Kimber at August 29, 2006 07:22 PM

At the risk of being bitch-slapped by Gilby, can I just say that Toby Rand is completely and utterly fuckable? I love his voice and I love his bod and if Tommy Lee promises to hire him to front the band I'll be first in line to buy tickets when they come to Florida.

Posted by: ALP IN FL at August 29, 2006 07:23 PM

Posted by: wendy at August 29, 2006 07:24 PM

no wonder Lukas etc ended up in the bottom three. No one can vote :/

the ethical thing to do would be to keep the window open longer.

I still can't vote

Here's to an exciting show tomorrow :)

Posted by: Serafina at August 29, 2006 07:25 PM

Well you decided to lay all the drama to rest? I guess that was the best conclusion. Everyone seemed to be close to having a nervous breakdown after all the drama, oh my.. the poor rockers hehe.
...still I was waiting for something witty coming from you mister D.

on other notes. How come you haven´t been practicing your Icelandic language skills with Magni? He´s been teaching the rockers to swear in Icelandic.

Posted by: Erna at August 29, 2006 07:25 PM

Tonight's show was really good. Mr. Navarro, Dave, I think, and it's just my opinion based on recent blogs and how I perceive, that maybe this conspiracy stuff spewing about and such, well, it might be getting to you? I could be wrong. People are going to have their opinions, speculations, and that's all they are, just their opinions and speculations. It's on them.

I personally don't see how anyone could "know" if this or that person is going to get it for certain, so it's all speculation, as I see it.

Quack, quack, be like duck, let it roll off your back. ;-)

I'm having trouble with your chatroom. Over the weekend I could enter just fine, now I get a popup about connection? I have cable internet. Oh well, will just keep trying it. :-(

Although I'm just a mere 7-10 years older than you, and it all depends on the day and my mood the age I admit to, I have learned that rumors rarely hold real truth, and all the other junk is just that...junk.

Have a good night, hon, and don't let this silliness get to you. (((hug))) Toodles...

Ohh, Chappaquitik...stop sleepin' around...people talk. Just read one of the latest blogs (yes, actually read this one). Something about no conspiracy...b.s. And how Suave Porn aka the band formerly known as Supernova, have been busy writing music! I almost snotted...we are not actually thinkin' that trash takes time to write...do you and Suave Porn ACTUALLY THINK WE ARE THAT STUPID? Pulease....I can just hear it now....

Gilby: "Tommy, think you can get off that girl for a sec so we can write some music?"

T.L: "Common man, you are the uptight, controlling asshat of the group, you write it."

Jason: "Damn, I should have stayed and taken Metallica's sh*t, cause this suck ass group is goin' NOWHERE!!! *sighs* I wonder if Z's busy?"

But, hey...all hearts and candy...we love you JORDIS!

DAVE - THE WEBSITE IS DOWN...WTF!!! HELP! HOW CAN I VOTE FOR LUKAS IF THE FUCKING WEBSITE IS DOWN!

Posted by: Ava147 at August 29, 2006 07:29 PM

DAVE PLEASE HELP!

I reside in Canada. I have come online directly after Supernova ended to vote for Lukas, and I cannot vote. I go to select him, the voting page appears and when I hit submit it takes so long and then I get an error message. I tried for about 15 minutes to no avail. I then when into Lukas' space/blog and other people have written in their comments that they cannot vote either. This is pure crap. He should be fronting Supernova and yet his fans can't even vote for him. Please investigate before tomorrow's elimination.

Posted by: Judi at August 29, 2006 07:30 PM

Hi Dave,
Tonights show was awsome but then again it's always great to see everyone bring it in the end. The fight is on and this is when you really see who has what it takes.
Anyway, I am only here for my mom. See my mom is sick. She has breast cancer and with the treatments she has been in the hospital for a little more then a week now. She loves this show. She makes me tape it and bring it to her so she can watch it. She has introduced me to all of you guys music and I didn't know my mom liked that kind of stuff. She's cool but laid back.
Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say hi and that my mom can't wait to see what happens next week. I hope she's home for then. But either way she will be watching. Is there anyway someone or all of you could wear something to show you support the research for a cure for breast cancer? I know it's lot to ask for. It's only me and my mom. And I'm only 14. She gives up everything for me. And I know almost if not all of you have been someway connected to someone who has suffered. Even if it's just the small ribbon. It would bring a smile to her face! which has always been there until she got so sick.
Anyway, I should go. I have taken up so much of your space. Take care. My mom is Kathleen. And she is an awsome mom!

I thought I would hound Dave about something he has no control over. Yeah, www.rockstar.msn.com isn't working. Many people cannot access the site. For me, once voting was open, my first vote never went through. 30 minutes Dave! 30 minutes of not being able to vote. Tell Lukas I tried :(

lol.

bye.

We can't vote on Rockstar!!!! Lukas is in the bottom 3 and that's because none of us can vote! This is b.s. all we get is an error message and we've all been trying since the voting started. HELP! lol

Posted by: Karen at August 29, 2006 07:35 PM

Dave,

You told us to vote, man! But we can't.

It would be really unfair to ANY of the rockers to put them in the bottom 3. Don't know what you guys are going to do.

Posted by: Sam at August 29, 2006 07:35 PM

Hey Dave!
That was a great show. My fave tonight was Magni, so much so that I'm actually trying to vote for the first time but can't seem to get the votes in. I hope you mention that(I'm sure you will since most of your blog comments have been about that. They are really brought it tonight. I think you guys were a bit harsh on Storm, I liked her performance. Couldn't stand Ryan...It's like he's trying too hard. Toby and Dilana were both great! Lukas was great but I'm not a Nirvana fan. I'd really like to see Magni and Lukas sing with SuperNova so I really get a feel of what would work best with them. I still feel like I'm missing that piece of the puzzle. 3 Dynamic personalities with such music history really need that 4th that can stand with them and really be their peer to give the band the crediability to make it work and not a one hit wonder and then poof*....Just my two sense.
Peace and a Good Nights Sleep! K

Posted by: KristiBelle at August 29, 2006 07:37 PM

You know one way to let the conspiracy theories die?

MAKE SURE THE WEBSITE FUCKING WORKS ON VOTE NIGHT.

No matter what the results are now, I'll have to call bullshit - especially since, surprise, I can't vote for Storm, at all.

Posted by: Mackiavellian at August 29, 2006 07:37 PM

Guess what, Dave? I still can't log onto Rockstar to vote. How long is it going to take before the connection can be made? You're the exec. dir. and you get to take the heat, I'm afraid. Believe me, nothing you feel can match the fury of a fan who cannot vote her fave out of the bottom three. BTW, did you have fun with the Dilana-as-alien conspiracy theory? I hope so! P.S. As a touch typist, I can log roughly five to six votes a minute, with about one spoiled ballot every 45 minutes and about another 45 minutes for br breaks, etc. That's a lot of votes, if you vote until three a.m., as I do. So it's not just one vote my fave is out by, it's a thousand, give or take a few hundred. That's more than last week's handful of votes, isn't it? My fave's lost approx. 550 votes so far. I'm keeping count, you see.

Posted by: Lisa from Burlington at August 29, 2006 07:37 PM

First of all, I'm pretty sure that Dave can't do
anything about the fact that the voting is screwed up, so quit yelling about it!!!! ha ha!
Second of all, how can anyone think Ryan is going to win!? Yes, his performances have been MUCH better & he's improved greatly. However, I could NEVER imagine him fronting Supernova. The majority of his performance feels soooo forced. Plus, his frown/face drives me nuts.
Storm was my favorite, but she hasn't been doing much or showing much diversity in quite a while. Love her voice though!
I've never posted on here before, I just read, however I feel I am ranting. Sorry all!

Posted by: Jill at August 29, 2006 07:38 PM

I'm listening to Daves' radio show... right now he's talking about the size of his....

Hey Dave.
I LOVE you for being so positive about our FAVORITE Ryan! We are freaking out here because we can't vote for him! PLEASE don't let them send a rocker home if we can't vote! That would not be fair at all! Maybe-next week can just be a double elimination or something...PLEASE help us! We LOVE Ryan and can NOT see him leave! He was AMAZING tonight!!

Posted by: Gina at August 29, 2006 07:41 PM

Dave - I really hope you do read ALL of these comments. I really do. I agree with you - there is absloutly no need for a consipracy - but I have to go on record and state that I felt Jason’s comment to Ryan tonight to be completly unjustified. And his reaction to the audience “booing? his comments was unneccessary. If he wants to critique other people - he needs to learn to be critiqued himself. The look on his face when he was booed - he was pissed. Jason should LISTEN to the audience - if they disagree that Ryan’s performance was bad - LISTEN. They are the ones that are going to buy your records!!!!!!! I feel 100% that Jason was attempting to influence the opinions of the viewers with his thoughts - and that his attitude has cost Ryan some votes. Lukas is Jason’s favorite - it’s blatantly obvious.

Posted by: Willo Keays at August 29, 2006 07:41 PM

I liked all the performance tonight but I liked Dilana the less. Storm rocked and I am not a fan, but she was amazing.

But I CANNOT vote. Hey Dave if we cannot vote make all the singers sing for survival tomorrow night, it is only fair.

edit: if the voting can't be accessed tonight. god forbid "the voting be fixed" my bad.

Posted by: larry_kings_shoulders at August 29, 2006 07:44 PM

my take on all six...

Dilana - "Mother Mother" (Tracy Bonham)...
Energywise it was a duplication of her 200% given performance of "Lithium"... This was her best performance since then... She finally fully brought it on again... She seems right to front Supernova...

Toby - "Rebel Yell" (Billy Idol)...
I didn't take to his "White Wedding" cover nor did to this one.
I think because his voice isn't as strong as Billy Idol's he
should have done both of them in his own style instead of trying
to do them like Billy Idol... I never really got into any of his cover songs, but when he fronted for Supernova, he pulled it very nicely, which is why I can see him fronting Supernova...

Lukas - "Lithium" (Nirvana)...
I thought he really made it his own in a good way... He totally deserved that long loud and neverending applause... He seems like he could front Supernova...

Magni - "I Alone" (Live)...
He did this cover spot on... FYI, I'm not a fan of Creed, but I have heard this song (on the radio)... His deliverance of this song was total perfection... He's got a great voice but still not sure he's right to front Supernova, he comes across as too intellectual to front them...

Storm - "Bring Me to Life" (Evanescence)...
Her voice was beautifully pristine and she performed it well... Toby did well in backing her, but I disagree totally with Gibly that he stole her heat... I think she is too "artsy/intellectual" to front Supernova...

Ryan - "Clocks" (Coldplay)...
He performed it really well... I've never heard the original... I'm not really a fan of Coldplay, but I enjoyed his version... Though I still think he's too angst ridden to front Supernova...

So in essence (and as of tonight), I can see Dilana, Toby or Lukas realistically fronting Supernova... In that order...

Since I can't really wrap my head around who's going to get Tommyhawked next, I'll happily wait for the spoiler tomorrow...

Happy sleeping you all!!!

Ugh, I can't get any voting in at all. Has the system crashed. This is so unfair. Dave, what do they do in a situation like this. Our favs are missing their votes for tomorrow night. I hope this is handled properly or there are going to be some irate fans.

Posted by: Jenna at August 29, 2006 07:45 PM

server is back up - i just voted

Posted by: gw at August 29, 2006 07:46 PM

Hey Dave, Thanks so much for opening your website up to us Rock Star fans. As you've likely heard from all us whiners, we are all having trouble voting... and it appears most of us having trouble with voting are trying to vote for Lukas. I understand about system overload, but I've been working steadily trying to vote for the past 30 minutes and have so far only managed to record a grand total of 8 votes. If Lukas is thrown into the bottom 3 due to system failure, I'll have a FIT!

That being said... I gotta tell you that Lukas is by far the most mesmerizing and exciting performer they've got competing to front SuperNova! I'm 42 years old and not just a horny 20 year old groupie... I love music and have significant discretionary cashflow... SuperNova will make a huge mistake if they do not go with Lukas!

Thanks for your ear.

Try this link to vote:

http://rockstar.msn.com/#MainNav.Music

It looks like the MSN server is overloaded - too many people voting at once. All I can say is keep trying! Ryan needs all the votes we can get for him tonight!

Posted by: Willo Keays at August 29, 2006 07:47 PM

Dave...

You did it... You telepathically fixed the voting site... We all knew you could do it...

Now can you please tell Gilby that my best friend's dog named Harley wants to go on a date with his dog Chopper...

Posted by: Savvy at August 29, 2006 07:48 PM

Dave,

At such a pivotal point in the show at what? 10 weeks into the season, for the servers to be down for over 30 minutes is unacceptable. How is this possible with two big corporate giants: CBS and MSN? And please don't tell us that the server couldn't handle the volume of people voting, I would imagine that a contingency plan was already in place and would have anticipated this in light of the success of the show to date. Please address this during the elimination show. My personal opinion, many votes have been lost as a result and perhaps there shouldn't be an elimination show, but what kind of ratings would that generate, right? Please ensure that they fix this. -H

Word Girrrl. Lukas for the win, all the way.

AND SOMEBODY FIX MSN FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: bajatango at August 29, 2006 07:50 PM

i take that back - i could vote one time. each subsequent vote gave me a runtime error. it's hosed.

Posted by: gw at August 29, 2006 07:50 PM

when are you guys gonna learn? dave has nothing to do with the votes! email MSN

Posted by: melanie at August 29, 2006 07:51 PM

Dave,

I understand that the website crashing is not in any way your fault and has nothing to do with you. However, you are our only contact with the show. That is why you're getting all the blogs.

This absolutley stinks. I agree with some of the other commenters that the only thing to do is have all 6 rockers sing for the elimination show. Casting only 3 in the b3 will piss off a lot of people. The early results are inaccurate.

I'd appreciate it if you could post the email address of the producers of the show. I have a bone to pick with them (not you)!

Posted by: Beth at August 29, 2006 07:52 PM

48 minutes into the voting and 1 vote for Lukas got through! this is b.s.! please address the problem on tomorrow's show, Lukas, and all the rockers need to know that we are supporting them, we just couldn't vote!

Posted by: Karen at August 29, 2006 07:53 PM

Great music tonight but for me I have had enough of the 'big brother' part of the show. I guess your marketing people will be tweaking the format based on each week's audience profile. Very disappointed to see Dilana sell out with all that 'I love them all' stuff ( unless it's true of course). There is a real contradiction when artists can express themselves freely in their music but not verbally in an interview. Maybe it's because I'm a Brit but it seems a bit unAmerican to me.
BTW it was great to see you live at the Edge up here in Toronto on Friday...

Posted by: Caroline69 at August 29, 2006 07:53 PM

great show I am on my way now to go vote, hopefully whatever was the problem has been fixed.

Posted by: Noelle at August 29, 2006 07:54 PM

Iggy fuckin Pop!!!! yeah!!!!!

Posted by: Shane at August 29, 2006 07:54 PM

Who cares if you can't vote?I want to see Lukas in the bottom 3.In fact give him the encore every week let him do all the remaining songs with Suave Porn.I just want to see the dude on the TeeVee.Imagine flipping fucking chicken wings at Hooters that is so funny.Bwaaaah!

The rest of these cats aren't even on the same playing field that Lukas is.He's in the big leagues these jokers can't make it to the minors. That's not even considering how talented a song writer he is.So chill out.Let Mark Burnett work his magic and enjoy the ride.

Posted by: KeithMoonLives at August 29, 2006 07:55 PM

It's 10:45 p.m. and I've gotten 3 votes through for Lukas and I've been trying continually.

Don't expect you to do anything about it Dave... I just want to make sure you know what a problem this is!!!

Posted by: Elizabeth at August 29, 2006 07:56 PM

What a joke! The server is down because TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO VOTE?! As a result NO votes get through.

The only reason Lukas is in the bottom 3 at the beginning of the night is because of the server crashing. He has a HUGE following and he gave his best performance tonight.

I think it was Lukas' fans that crashed the website! LOL

Posted by: Sam at August 29, 2006 07:59 PM

I agree that I would like to see Lukas do pretty much every song, but we his fans want him to know that we are trying to vote for him and we cannot. He does NOT belong in the b3 based on performance.

Lukas, you have a massive following, but MSN is not co-operating!

Posted by: myson at August 29, 2006 07:59 PM

Dave: This is bullshit. No wonder why at the end of the show Lukas was in the bottom 3, because his fans can't even fucking vote for him. We keep getting a "RUNTIME ERROR" message. It is quite obvious he is the best of all the rockers and Supernova would be blind not choose him as their frontman BUT WE CAN'T EVEN VOTE FOR HIM. PLEASE PLEASE ADDRESS THIS TOMORROW. IT JUST ISN'T RIGHT.

Posted by: Teresa at August 29, 2006 08:00 PM

there is a message on the rockstar site that they know there is a problem and the tech people are working on it. I am hoping in light of this that the voting will be open/ extended so that people have the chance to vote.

Has anyone tried by cell, I don't have one but that might be the way to go for now.

Posted by: Noelle at August 29, 2006 08:01 PM

Wow, Ryan blew me away tonight with Clocks. That piano slither was so hot. But why the fuck can't I vote!?!? How can they have a fair elimination show tomorrow when most people can't vote!! WTF!?!

Posted by: Jackie at August 29, 2006 08:01 PM

Dilana proves she's the winner. She is rivoting. She effortlessly draws your attention to her. And then SHE leads your attention to the band. Don't forget all of these SN guys have big egos and DIlana is the only one who really interracts with the band in each performance. Lukas is too independent. I liked Toby's performance on the SN song, but his performances on the covers are too old-school rock - nothing fresh. I am a fan of Ryan's voice, but geez he threw too much into that performance - like a circus act. Storm is underrated - she does so many things out of her comfort zone and does well with the material. Magni - great voice - just nothing wow on stage.

Can't Vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: kfc at August 29, 2006 08:02 PM

ok Dave ... I LOVED how you got Lukas tonight ... I don't know how you kept a straight face for so long. I would have cracked. Wicked show. By far, my fav was Lukas. I haven't been as keen on Toby lately but tonight he totally converted me and was a close second to Lukas. I really liked Dilana's performance too. I just wish that the server wasn't overloaded I haven't been able to vote yet

But the bonus is that I can listen to SRL while I'm trying ;)

Posted by: MJ at August 29, 2006 08:02 PM

No Fuckin Way!!!! Lukas is in the bottom three? It hasn't aired on the West Coast yet. I don't fuckin believe this!!! I heard it was his best performance yet, what happened? I am not directing this question to you Dave.

Posted by: gw at August 29, 2006 08:06 PM

Hey Dave, Tell MSN their site crashed. We can't vote for anyone. I always vote 50 times for Dilana, but tonight I got one vote in before the system crashed. Too bad. I tried to vote for others too, but... all you get is one error msg after another

Posted by: Klo at August 29, 2006 08:07 PM

One hour into voting, I still have only been able to register ONE VOTE.

Not your problem Dave, but you are the executive producer so it is good to see everyone bringing to your attention in a large way.

Posted by: bajatango at August 29, 2006 08:07 PM

Dave
I hope that you will announce on tomorrow's show the problem with tonight's voting. It is definately not fair to the final 6 if they are not aware that we, the fans were unable to vote due to your techical difficulties!!! Lukas did not deserve to be in the bottom 3 after his performance tonight!!!
Tell "Buford" (Lukas) that his family and friends luv him. Thanks Dave
Stella

Posted by: stella at August 29, 2006 08:07 PM

LUCAS is finally where he belongs for a performance, I just dont see a huge range in his voice. Dilana has that high range that is a bit like what Steven Tyler has. I like Toby and the guy from Iceland also. To me, it comes down to those 3. Thanks for the Blog Dave, Canada loves the Panic Channel

Posted by: John Buffam at August 29, 2006 08:08 PM

Linda:

Lukas was BRILLIANT doing Lithium. Don't worry about that. No way he should be in B3 because he CRUSHED Nirvana.

I am able to vote now ...lol yes !!! Lukas

Posted by: Noelle at August 29, 2006 08:15 PM

Dave and peoples,

After tonights performances, I would have to say that Storm is going home, but that is only my opinion. Lukas was super despite the fact that he hated the song and original band. I also find his personality endearing and kind of sexy. Toby was great both by himself and with Storm. I agree with SN that he stole a little bit of her thunder. Ryan was awesome and raised the bar for himself yet again. Gotta love that "Dark Horse". Dilana....I find her a bit smug, a bit rough and I still don't know if I could listen to a full album of her signing. Magni is great...if he was doing covers of "Live" songs. Did I forget anyone? If I did, then they were not worth remembering.

I am now going to try to vote and hopefully everything is straightened out.

Posted by: Lauren at August 29, 2006 08:16 PM

I have been attempting to vote for Lukas for an hour and ten minutes now and it has only launched 8 votes for me and those took forever. It kept saying -server error in '/' application runtime error....I tried voting for someone else and it went right through. I want to officially complain and say that is voting note is invalid and unfair. Do you know how many votes I could have gotten in for Lukas by now and instead of "trying" and trying to find who to complain to. You can not even find any where on the SN site to say anything. I hope you read this stuff before the show because it is really unfair and not a true account of votes. I knew something was up when I say Lukas in the bottom three. Now I know we are not being allowed to vote for him.

Posted by: pj at August 29, 2006 08:17 PM

Dilana has the most memorable performance of both season's tonight?!?!?!? I admit that it was good, FOR THAT SONG, which makes it an ok cover imo. What was up with that whacked leg over the guitarist stunt. I didn't even think it was the best performance tonight. Magni does a live version that is better than then CD "produced" version and then Toby channellimg Billy Idol sang at least as well as Dilana's with a stage performance that flippin' rocked. I really respect the opinion/insight of you and the guys on the couch so maybe I am missing something. If you get a chance can you expand a bit about your reasoning for that comment?

Also, I agree with Karen about the "Big Brother" stuff having gone too far tonight. AS exec producer, if you have input, see if you can tone that stuff down and give us more performances. Sorry to be so negative but I love this show so much it is hard not to nitpick. Need something to do be between the excrutiating long time between episodes. :D

Posted by: SpikeSpiegel at August 29, 2006 08:19 PM

FYI-don't know if any of you watched ,oops what was oh yeah American Idol, had the same sort of challenge with the voting- they did an extra show because of it and wiped out all the previous nights votes so everyone had to vote again the following night. Perhaps this might happen at RS. Just a thought.
Yeah Dave, SRL was quite interesting tonight. This was only my second time catching it. I had only caught the last bit and wasn't too certain WTF you were talking about. Hey it takes a special man to admit that someone is being overly generous about your 8"...
Good nite!

I would like for you to please let Lukas know that his fans are trying to votes for him. Please Dave address this on the show tomorrow. We love Lukas and are trying to vote for him.

Posted by: Integrity at August 29, 2006 08:21 PM

Dave, now you are going to have to try to live down or backtrack from saying that Dilana's performance was the best in both seasons. You can't be serious man. It was maybe 5th best tonight alone.

:p

Posted by: bajatango at August 29, 2006 08:24 PM

Hey Dave,

I stumbled upon this blog site through rockstar and i'm listening to my first "spread radio live," and I have to admit that i'm so enjoying it. Love the mix of music, love the conversations you have. Seriously, i'm a big fan now!

Posted by: Micheal L at August 29, 2006 08:26 PM

Dave, please give us your thoughts of the "lost" hour of voting tonight for Rock Star:Supernova. And, what are your thoughts about the Rock Star message board moderators deleting every single thread that mentioned the problem. ONE SOLID HOUR, votes could not be cast. East Coast voters have been hosed: the 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM time frame. This is bad!

Posted by: SoulMistake at August 29, 2006 08:27 PM

Dilana's performance the best of both seasons of RS? SERIOUSLY? Yeesh.

love ya though

Posted by: Jocelyn at August 29, 2006 08:29 PM

For the first time, I was actually really impressed with Dilana.

However, I find it hard to believe that's she an actual "rocker" after watching her pre-Rockstar songs on Youtube. Some wild hair and wacky makeup does not a rockstar make.

Anyway, I do hope the initial votes are discounted - there's no way Lukas would be in the bottom 3.

Posted by: julieb75 at August 29, 2006 08:30 PM

Dear Dave, re your love affair with Dilana, if you honestly think her show tonight has been the best you've seen over the last two SEASONS, I want some of what you're SMOKING.

Oh and FIX the damn voting!

Posted by: Aeolyn at August 29, 2006 08:31 PM

Dilana's performance wasn't even the best of the night, let alone the best of both seasons. I really wanted to love it, because I generally value your opinions. But, seriously...I thought hers was the WEAKEST of the night. I have never been a Storm fan because something about her bugs me, but I even voted for her a few times because she was far better than Dilana.

I know you all want to be over the Dilana Drama, and that's cool. But to say "what lead singer hasn't said something stupid" is a bit much. She ISN'T a lead singer, she's a contesant on a reality show TRYING to be the lead singer of a band. SO, she's busy dissing her friends in order to climb over their backs. So not cool.

Even though I so don't get your whole Dilana love fest, the fact remains that the 6 rockers left are all extremely talented. While someone might not be my favorite, he or she is certainly someone's favorite. I hope they all have big careers ahead of them.

Posted by: B A Hughes at August 29, 2006 08:44 PM

Posted by: Jaded at August 29, 2006 08:46 PM

Supernova votes who goes home, if the site is having problems its no big whoop. I don't think they'll send Lukas home for his first trek to the bottom 3.

Great show tonight. I really dug Toby's performance. Only his second that I felt was worthy of paying 99cents for on MSN. I felt the version of lithium Lukas did was subpar, I was surprised by Dave's reaction to it. I remember looking at the song selection to vote for the various singers online and I remember how I envisioned their performances based on what I had seen and to me, Lukas went a complete 180 as to what I had imagined he would do with the song and it just didn't work for me..

You know, I would love to see Lukas and Dilana in the bottom 3, along with someone that they'll send home :) I just would love to hear what song they've choosen to perform. I thought Patrice's Iron Lung was so awesome, Phil's Smoking Umbrella was killer and Z's Razorblade was crap, but entralling enough for me to go out and get the original artists version and play it over and over again :)

Dave, thanks for everything, keep it up, after this is over try to get on another show so we can get more DN! I don't think there is such a thing as too much of a cool thing.

Posted by: Alex at August 29, 2006 08:46 PM

Dave: I know you read your comments and I am coming to you with a suggestion regarding the Rockstar elimination show tomorrow, Wednesday. Due to the unfortunate mix up with being unable to vote for so many viewers/fans, I think the producers should have Brooke waive the reading of the 3 names listed in the bottom at the end of today's show. Obviously this was not a true reading.

Posted by: Jade at August 29, 2006 08:47 PM

Hey Dave,

Hope tommorrow nite that the F'in voting issue gets talked about--servers not working up here in Canada for a good hr of voting time! UGH! Not good! I do know OUR ( the fan) only has a partail impact but at least they should have the reality of how fans were really voting not the bull figures that will come in from this mess tonight

Posted by: LadyCAnnuck at August 29, 2006 08:48 PM

Magni fans havn't been able to vote either. and it isn't dave's fault. Dillana performance was good. just good. magni, toby and storm were all better. sory dave. don't see it.

Posted by: jennifer at August 29, 2006 08:48 PM

Does anyone actually think anyone will say a negative word to Dilana for the rest of the show?Of course not obviously the reason she has gotten so little flack is that the producers may have thought she couldn't handle it.I know it's hard to believe that someone could have a meltdown on a reality tv show but stranger things have happened.

I predict she will go the whole season without criticism.Who cares she ain't winning.Do you think Suave Porn would pass up a talent like Lukas? They would have to be the biggest group of dummies ever.Their manager would have to be a complete idiot their record label would have to stunned their marketing people would have to be complete buffoons.

I understand that people have their faves and shit like American Idol or something but this is different this is rock and roll.Any serious musician or industry type will tell you who's winning this gig.It ain't rocket science.

Posted by: KeithMoonLives at August 29, 2006 08:49 PM

The Rockstar site was down for almost an hour (the first hour of voting) they are now attempting to cover it up and I think its super lame, deleting fans posts in the forums and deleting comments on spaces trying to let our rockers know that we have been trying to vote for them.... all I have to say is lame coverup...hope this is addressed but think it wont be, its the kind of thing I think would have Tommy Lee kicking someones ass lol

GOTTA SOLUTION FOR THE VOTING PROBLEM DAVE!
Since the voting is already screwed throw em all in the Bottom 6 and let em duke it out tomorrow night - I'm owed it for the hour+ I've wasted without being able to vote.

Any other way soils the voting process and you don't want another Bush/Gore hanging chad fiasco........

Oh Dave, with only 2 more weeks until the finale, this completely SUCKS. The timing couldn't be worse...oh, unless it happens next week! Please ensure this doesn't happen again.

Seriously, the bottom 3 at the end of the show tonight should not be read tomorrow. Its inaccurate. Please flex your Executive Producer muscle on this one.

Hey Dave,

Love the show, except for the soapopera type of drama, that seems to have to take place.

Of course I'm a big Storm Large fan, even though I first came into contact with her thru the show. I only wish you had wrestled her for the corset last week :)

take care, off to vote some more

Hey Dave
I love Lukas's performances. I do think it is unfair that Dilana sings a song that she has before. She is my least favorite and needs some meds too. Could you please announce on the elimination show that the voting on the website is not voting for us. Maybe everyone should sing a song. Lukas in the bottom 3 is a joke!
