Head To Hollywood SG/TPC Event: 9/6/06

Wednesday, September 6th at The Dragonfly in Los Angeles: The Panic Channel will be doing an acoustic performance. The Suicide Girls are hosting a charity event that night and what better charitable pairing is there than The Panic Channel and The Suicide Girls? None, I say. Proceeds to benefit Head To Hollywood: A non-profit program of the Pituitary Network Association that provides comfort and escape to survivors of cancerous and non-cancerous brain tumors.

Chances are good that I will be doing another Spread Radio Live today at some point. Look for the usual indicators that I am live, such as the spreadradiolive name and "ON AIR" icon in your AIM buddy list, a post here on 6767 or a MySpace bulletin.

Oh yeah, I am hosting a party tomorrow night at Pure Nightclub in Las Vegas, located at Ceasars Palace. What happens there, BETTER stay there!!!

You are a generous person, Mr. Navarro . . . giving back to the community and helping others in more ways than one with your talent and skills. Sorry to miss the show, and hope TPC will rock the Midwest again soon. Chi-Town in the house. Double Door and Hard Rock.

Dave -
I think by you showing that its right to give back you are teaching a lifes lesson many dont get in their homes.
Thanks!

Dearest Dave,
Yay! Some TPC info! No offense (we all love RS:SN), but SRL and TPC is way more interesting. Keep sending the love to us.

Wow Dave, That sounds like a cool event. My youngest daughter is a bt survivor. Are you involved with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundations's ride for kids event too? Some of the survivors of these brain tumors have lifetime issues that are not easy to deal with.
Good luck and I hope y'all have a successful fundraiser.

note to self: work harder on getting public support for Dave's role in the next Pirate's of the Carribean movie. ;)

Dave,

It's great to get some more live radio. I love it! It is a nice replacement to RS:SN.

I hate to say it but, the show, is losing me. I loved RS:SN because it wasn't like Survivor (too personal) and the performers were real good, singing better music than the adult, contemporary top 40 on American Idol. However, after last weeks Dilana show it was too much like the Osbornes - and I am NOT blaming Dilana. I blame the show for focusing WAAAAAYYY too much on the bull*&^%.

Sure you want some drama but, the focus... I don't think the performances have been as good and I am not looking as forward to them. Lately, all Lukas does is his Drunken Master routine on stage, Storm rolls her eyes around, everyone seems to think you have to do is just roam around the crowd (maybe stand on an amp or something) and, your most dynamic performer, Dilana, is now clearly broken down from the TV crap. I feel bad for Supernova now as, all the performers are cowed, gone conservative and dull! Probably because they are now afraid to do anything.

But I still love SRL.

Later.

Nice pic, Dave, I'd recognized those arms anywhere, especially since they made an appearance at the TPC listening party in NYC...did you see the pic Deena took?

ANOTHER SRL, we are getting spoiled, thanks for making the week better--I moved Kristen to her dorm in Manhattan Tuesday so I am sad, my partner in crime is only a train ride away but it's not the same. TPC and all the SRL helps, though :)

Hey, Angel , Original Angel, there are so many new people posting here that I thought in the other thread it was Angel but it was another (Angel # 2?)

TPC Asylum Members/Agents/6767 Family get together in NYC hopefully in September...will let you all know a possible date and you can yay or nay it!

Hi Topcat,
( I couldn't reply back in the last blog)

Right on!! It must have been amazing in NYC punk scene at that time.

I didn't see Iggy and the Stooges in the 70s/80s. (I was too young.Still a babygirl punk ;)
But, yeah I know where you're coming from with Iggy during that time (my older siblings were into the scene at that time in Toronto). And I was very influenced by their scene and music as I was growing up.

I saw Iggy in the 90s, small venue, 500 people. He was already a legend. I was in the front row/centre, standing room only. (turned into a freakin mosh pit during I Wanna Be Your Dog - but worth it all. A security guard I was chatting it up with that night, pulled me up over the gate and lifted me onto the stage- I ended up holding onto and dancing with Iggy and he didn't object to that! What a Trip!

Topcat, I'm trying to remember the band that opened for them that night, and I'm at a loss for the band name.

Maybe you can help me out. Great band that I really wanted to see open that night. I loved their vibe.

The only way the band may stand out is if maybe I try to explain the guitarist, because a female guitarist was rare. "Vie/Vy" maybe was her name. She had big hair.
I can't remember the band name right now. But they were a trip seeing live too.

If you know which band I'm talking about, let me know. And maybe Dave can spin one of their songs on SRL :)

Hey DAVE,
I was wondering, if songwriting is going to end up being a big part of the show, why haven't any of the rockers done original songs for elimination night?? Is it not alloweed or have they just not thought about doing it?

thanks,
Leah

Posted by: Leah at August 31, 2006 11:38 AM

SWANSON- I recall seeing that there was a keyboard player(maybe Paul from the House Band?) at the side of the stage on the SN track. I think that was keyboard you heard, not guitar. Then again, I love the conspiracy angle.

Also, Tommy Lee used fake drumsticks...

Hello Dave!

Two questions for you my friend.

Why do you think elimination show no 7 and 8 were so much better and had much more memorable performances than no 9?

Please compare in your mind two elimination performances Dilana and Magni.

Is it possible that you can answer these two questions with one name you don“t like so much?

Dave, I love your album.
Last night's SN song was the best of the 3 performed. I thought Lukas won't fit with the band but watching and listening last night, Lukas really did fit. He made the band look younger and the song fresh and modern. It was great and I will buy their CD and go to their concert.

Dave, please take back your blog and banish all this Rockstar stuff. There is message board on MSN devoted to all aspects of the show. You claim to have no real executive power over the show, the songs, the editing, the rockers, the band .. . nothing so why do you allow all this opining on a blog about you, your life, PC?

Dave you know your shit, Dilana killed it with "Mother Mother" the other night. To me thats what embodies a true rocker. The look, voice, attitude, headbanging & most important the wicked headbutt to the mic at the end. Now that's rock!!! Just had to give you props for respecting the music & not giving into the drama again. Thanks man.

Posted by: Carole at August 31, 2006 12:33 PM

I don't understand what you guys are talking about the whole SN performance. I was at the taping, and nothing was faked, it was live. They had a special setup for SN, and we had to wait while they dismantled it and set up the houseband's equipment.

Posted by: Linda from San Diego at August 31, 2006 12:35 PM

I am Canadian myself and I just cant understand why people are so in love with Lucas. I thought he was terrible with SN! His voice is creepy, and not good at all. I thought he didnt fit with the band and he was screaming so loud I couldnt even hear Gilby in the back-up vocals. I would definatley not be buying anything from SN if he is the frontman.

I was a huge Dilana fan for a long time but I am not liking her latest performances for some reason. I still like her and it had nothing to do with her spanking, I just am not diggin her as much.

Storm, I love her, she is my daughter's fav, but in all honesty she just doesnt fit with the band either, but she is great and very talented.

Ryan: Oh boy, I am glad to see him go. I havent liked him since he was going around the house bashing Dana like that. I kept thinking that he had a crush on her and she rebuked him, so he trashed her. I think he is an asshole and his performances were awful and forced and I was embarrased watching it. That Painted Black thing was awful and when he was writhing around on the piano the other night I was laughing so hard I had tears running down my face. When he broke the guitar right after the band mentioned they wanted somehting borken on stage, well how cheesy was that? He is a dick and showed his colours when he was booted. Where was the Thank You for the new guitar, exposure etc...good riddance!

Toby...Toby is becomming my favorite. I love his voice, his performances and his attitude. I have been voting for Toby and Magni recently. I was so happy he got the encore!

Magni: I really like him and have voted for him as well although I would pick Toby before him.

Lucas: I dont get it, I think he is OK, but his voice does not appeal to me I guess. I didnt like his performance with the band either, I would hate to hear that over the radio.

Well That is my 2 cents

BTW, I think you ROCK DAVE!

My husband is wondering what kind of weird shit I'm into when I have the SRL site up. I like the music but the page is so graphic I can only open it when the kids and hubby are in bed. I wonder if great music can only be created and promoted with porn?

What are your thoughts on the subject?

Posted by: Teresa at August 31, 2006 01:17 PM

so perhaps you know the first 12 people on your myspace page...but Dave can you really not find a woman who wants to be on "top" and yet will not somehow be linked to the play boy mansion? i know - trust me i know. i am in the air national guard for a few more years. it IS a boy's club. maybe not a good ole boy's club like in the military, but a boy's club none the less. i guess having those girls there keeps you up to par with TL but you are beyond him and i think you already know that.... and i am sure some of those girls are nice and possibly intelligent but...CA is so well populated - isn't there anyone else?

sorry just a female observation. besides that you are the only reason that I have ever watched SN(the few times that I have) and I love your new cd. the radio show i seem to constantly miss but i think that has more to do wth me just recently moving into a new apartment with a new roommate. No more walking around naked, the price we pay for cheaper rent...

I just want to say that I've had a chance to listen to that latest Supernova song a few more times...and I am really starting to LOVE it!

People have to remember that this is a raw, unproduced performance of a song that no one has heard before. If they put this on a cd with the voices blended and the music at just the right volume and so on, it would chart imho for sure.

Lukas did a great job on vocals, and the music was right up there as well.

Congrats on the new album Dave - testiment to the fact that enough shameless promotion can help even the smelliest pile of shit sell. C'mon dude, wassup? Please maintain your integrity! Attaching yourself to this Rockstar train wreck is awful. I tried to listen, but good hell! The music sucks! You are a great guitarist, but these projects you have been attached with lalely are beneath you!

Ok, Ok, you talked me into it I will be on "top" of Dave, and I am not linked to the Playboy Mansion. It would be my pleasure!

I'm sure CA is full of women that would like to go out with Dave. As beautiful & sexy as I think he is, I'd give up being on "top" if he was back with his (soon-to-be-ex) wife. They made the sweetest pair!

Rockstar III? Rockstar Halen, they obviously need the help and think of the freaking catalog! BTW Dave, is the field of songs with a release so narrow that we can't squeeze some 80s metal out and make it bleed? I mean seriously hoss, look who's sitting next to you over there! lol

peace

I just read that there will be no Season 3 for Rock Star because it was beaten badly in the ratings by a couple of other reality shows this summer. That will make me sad, if it doesn't come back. Time will tell, I guess. (I used to tape the other show and watch Rock Star.) They're just not polling the right people!!

Hi Niki,(and all inquiring SNers)

Dave did a Spread Radio Live internet broadcast last night dedicated to Q&A about the SN elimination last night, as well as many other questions and comments all about RS:SN.

And as an added bonus, Dave is just so damn sexy to listen to.

The SRL's go into rotation 24/7.
So you will just need to listen to the internet broadcast show from Aug 30th.

Hey Dave!
We just wanted THANK YOU for supporting Ryan! YOU were the only one who seemed to really "get" him! He is a true musical genious! I bought his solo CD after I heard him do "Losing My Religion" and it is FANTASTIC! Every single song on it is GREAT! I really think SN was just threatened by his awesome songwriting abilities. Maybe YOU can do something with him in the future! I would pay BIG bucks to come see you and Ryan in concert together! Thanks for being the brains of the show! We love you!!!
