Spoiler: Don't Read If You Don't Want To Know!
***Rockstar Spoiler***
So tonight is the night that Supernova sent little Jenny home. Sorry, Jenny, you cute little thing, I was pulling for you but your vocals on Vaseline were... Not great. You know, vocally Dana DID redeem herself but there is something lacking with her in a major way. As I have stated before, she is an American Idol type, not a Rockstar. As for Jenny, she is sweet, has good style and does her thing, but at the end of the day, she doesn't have the chops to front this band. Honestly, if there was ever a season of this show called Rockstar: Veruca Salt or Rockstar: The Breeders, she'd be perfect! It'll be interesting to see how Josh steps it up next week. Yeah, he did an OK version of Heart Shaped Box tonight, but he's just not striking a compelling chord for me on the hard stuff. When he broke into his song tonight, I stood up with excitement hoping for a riveting performance, but I ended up sitting back down pretty quick. He did, however, get a little "edgy" with his "flanked by hot chicks" move towards the end, but it just felt a tad contrived. He should really go the route of Dave Matthews or Hootie. He could kill it in that market... But a Rockstar? Not so much.
So this The Panic Channel interview Steve and I did today. I guess it will eventually be up at AT&T Blue Room in a week or so. We never got a chance to find out why, after so many years of answering machines and voice mail systems, that cell phone companies feel we need a recorded woman instructing us how to leave a message.

Interesting show tonight & IMO it's frustrating to see the bottom 3 all 'needing' to go - sorry - but they aren't the right 'season' for the band - great for other things - not this. THIS is the part of the show that urks me - "the weeding out weeks" before we get down to the top 4 that have it, bring it, & sustain it thus, making it riveting TV. THIS is also the very thing that makes this show stand out from others - you get right to the point w/talent & don't make us suffer thru the "auditions!" You get the best- and let the games begin. Love this show & hate my impatience.

god damn it! when is that spanish whatever chick going to go? she sucks!
Posted by: zoezee at July 19, 2006 07:09 PM
I liked your idea of everyone saying "Push 1(or whatever # jumps you right to the beep) to leave a message" as their voicemail greeting. If everyone did it....life would be better. hahaha
Maybe you should drop the 'Save the Blue Crab' campaign and start a 'Get to the fuckin Beep' crusade. You've just gotta think of a catchy hook phrase...I think I've got too much time on my hands tonight.
Looking forward to seeing the elimination show. I agree about Josh being great in the Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson genre, but Im surprised he is already in the bottom 3. He's way up on many of the contestants as far as vocal chops go...
Have a good evening, Dave and 67ers!
Love, Amber :)

Dave, it seems to me that A LOT of "the rockers" (haha, I had to say it) this season accidentally stood in the wrong casting line and ended up on Rockstar rather than American Idol. GREAT VOCALISTS, but not a fit for that particular band. Zayra, Dana, Jenny, Jill, etc...
Who actually picks the contestants?
Posted by: Kim at July 19, 2006 07:41 PM
Dana did kick it up a notch or two...for once I'm actually interested to see what she does next week, however...I still don't think she'll last. That is all ( :
BEEEEP
Posted by: blacklace at July 19, 2006 08:03 PM
Hey Dave! I was at the taping today, and I thought Dana sucked ass. How is this chick still on the show? At least Jenny seemed to do what you guys were saying - putting down the guitar and rockin' out. But Dana? Her dry-humping poor Raphael (I think) was kind of embarrassing. You looked fuckin' hot though.
Posted by: TakeTwo at July 19, 2006 08:04 PM
Come on Dave I agree Jenny should have went but Josh was down right pathetic there is a reason he is singing coffee house and it's because he can't hold a note when he trys to sing rock. That bit at the end after the band stopped playing and he was screeching was simply awful.
Posted by: SlappyJones at July 19, 2006 08:07 PM
Dave why is that the best singer for this band seems to be the singer who won the competition last year and the second best fit would be the guy who finished second last year?I don't get how these dudes fit this band other than Rossi but I can't actually tell if he can sing or not.
Whassup with that ?
Posted by: TheWhoSellout at July 19, 2006 08:17 PM
Jenny gone... Not surprised...
I say Dana and Zayra are next not in any particular order...
Posted by: Savvy at July 19, 2006 08:34 PM
i totally agree with zoezee. Zayra should totally go. sure she may be unique and shit but she's so NOT right for this band. lukas or dilana!!! \m/

Hey, look, the Monkees. They were a huge influence on the Beatles- Quote from Dumb and Dumber my fave movie that is on. Anywho, really luvin the fact that I am seeing your sexy eyes ever week. I mean, I usually HAD to tune in to Camp Freddy every week. There were some PRICELESS moments on cam;) Look at all these posts angel and imagine how many people care and love you. That is good to know. Thanx for answering questions on everyone's mind. You are very honest with us. I am agreeing with everyone on quite a few people being gone. I am just wondering if Vince Neil, Sebastian Bach, or Peter Steele need to go up there and show them what being a metal singer is??? Have a good Thu 67 family! DN<Thanx for all you are:)

Okay forgot to say...
Jenny doing "Vaseline"...
I can't even imagine it yet alone really want to hear it... I missed tonight's elimination because I was teaching private yoga...
I hope Dana goes next then Zayra just 'cause I like her more and it will give her more exposure on the tube...

i haven't read anyone elses comments. i just want to know why Nirvana is the most covered band on this show. I have a very unpopular opinion of them. i'm just bored with it.
sorry, just my opinion

Gilby Clarke is so handsome!
Posted by: skarp at July 19, 2006 08:53 PM
I was wondering about the talent scouting myself lol. I realize putting together a "cast" for a tv show means a mix of talent to appeal to a wide audience, and that was easy to pull off with INXS. But this time around you can even see the band thinking "wtf?" during the performances. Some great talent for sure, don't want to be disrespectful, but completely off the mark in terms of fit for Supernova with the exception of 2 or 3 tops. Mind you, I didn't think anyone could successfully front INXS last season and just tuned in initially out of morbid curiousity, but I just truly ended up enjoying the show week after week. Something is just way off this time around. Maybe it would be more compelling and fun to watch with more closely and appropriately matched competition?
Vibes, Dave.

I agree with you Melis, I mean, let the fans of the show pick some songs for the singers to play. It just gets old hearing the same songs for two years. I was pleased to hear Dana so a song I have never heard. That was a pretty cool song. Love exposure to new music -SRL-:) Well, we can always dream of more metal tunes on the show!

I believe that the song choice is seemingly limited because in order to use a song on television, CBS must have permission from whomever owns the copyright to the music. Im sure that a lot of the bands mentioned in posts over the last couple days, have been approached...but denied usage of their songs. I'm not 100% certain if that correct but I think so. Dave?
(u looked smokin tonight by the way!)

... I had to log in to check. I couldn't wait. (..I'm in Australia)
I'm glad I'm feeling the same kind of feeling as others here... and Dave especially agree with the Josh/Dave Matthews and also your comment to Jenny during the show, re. Lilith. That is exactly where I pictured her. Which is a great compliment to her... just not for the Rock Start 'thing'.
Posted by: Jenelle at July 19, 2006 09:18 PM
I wish they woulda waited longer to vote off, the hottest girl there! but she isn't right for the band.
Posted by: Nikki at July 19, 2006 09:27 PM
Surprise No. 2! - DANA!! Woohoo!!! She brought the rock and she's not even used to it? wtf? did I heard that comment? She has a VOICE for rock. And BLUESY ROCK at THAT. I SINCERELY hope she finds a BOATLOAD of rock tunes she loves and practices, practices, practices!! Not because she needs to improve anymore (tonight she was ON!), but because she needs to BROADEN her base in order to make herself more competitive at song selection time.
Glad to see Dana redeem herself in such a smashing way! But Josh over Jenny? *shakes head*
ALSO!! Could someone please get yet another message to the song posting people? PLEASE ADD Pat Benatar, Chrissey Hynde and the Pretenders, Aerosmith, and some Soundgarden to the choices? Thanks! :)
Wow, I must say that the "hard rockers" (and I am one of them too) that this forum attracts have a very fast and direct way of speaking their minds! But that's what I like about personalities like all of you - no pussy-footing around, just get right to the damn point/crux of it all!!!
HAPPY ROCKING! :) :0 :)

Jenny went home, definitely the right decision. I am really pissed off that they showed most of last nights performances without showing Lukas. Tommy gave kudos to Jill and Dilana, and they deserved it, but no mention of Lukas. They always say they love his performances, yet they never mention him again. I was sure that he would do tonights encore. I was shocked that it was Magni!! I totally adore you Lukas!!!!!

good to know i'm not the only one, but my overall opinion of Nirvana I'm pretty sure isn't popular, I mean i liked it when it was out, but someties i hear it on the radio and i can't believe it's still so "in rotation" it's been what, like 15 years.... i don't know, i think it gets way to much credit. But like i said, it's not that i dislike it, but if he didn't kill himself would it be the way it is? i'm not trying to disrespect, I am actually looking for other opinions and to mabey think differently. But then again, I might be right!!! ha ha ha

oh yeah, one more thing, Gilby is very handsome. and for the record, they all look exactly the same in person, Brook, Dave, Tommy, Jason and Gilby. Exactly the same. I was pleasantly surprised, although I've seen Dave up close and already knew that he looks way better, well, up close and personal!!! ha ha ha wink wink

I almost forgot, I heard "Why Cry" this morning on 91x. They said it was a request from rain, I'm sure that's not how they spell it, but that's how they pronounced it. Funny, after the first few bars I thought, I know that song, what is it? Of course then I went dah Linda, it's "Why Cry"!!! How many times have I listened to it, I lost count. Great to hear you guys on the radio. I still haven't seen the video on VH1, but I'm sure I will soon. xoxo

Interesting show tonight. I have to say, the vocal coaching made for a VAST improvement in the performances. The singing has gotten much better. The only thing is, it seems like nobody really has much stage presence at this point in the show. Three weeks in and everybody is still just clutching the mic stand and walking up and down the stage.
And like SweetMelis said, I can think of somebody whose voice I'd MUCH rather hear on the phone, and it's NOT the AT&T chick. :p I bet you could make some awesome ringtones. Though, five bucks says they wouldn't be suitable to play in public if there are virgin ears within listening distance. :p

Wow, lotta comments, great show. I agree with your statements Dave, except I woulda kicked Josh first. His grin is irritating me. Missed Tuesdays show, we were outta power for 30 something hours but the bonus was I watched the elim at a friends house who seemed to dig it as well. How did Lukas do..he wasn't on the recap. Cool Magne got the encore..he started off really out of sync but pulled it off in the end..except that sashaying stage presence . Have a great week!

I can't believe Zayra is still there. She's an appallingly bad singer, she's got awful stage presence, she's useless at bringing the rock, dresses like she's in Flashdance, appears to be deeply stupid, and is totally irritating all of the time.
On a positive note, she's not pretty either.

I might catch heck for this, but this season has yet to wow me. Last season, I turned in every week and I was entertained. This season, I just count the acts away until I see the two who I feel have talent perform. Lukas and Dilana are the only ones that have sincerely entertained me. Jill, Storm, etc are just acts I expect to see at the local bar in my Wisconsin college town. Harsh? Perhaps. But come on, they are fronting a band with fucking Tommy, Gilby, and Jason. You better fucking bring it every damn week. I see the winner being Dilana or Lukas. If I am wrong, that will be a bullet I have to bite.
Now, onto the Nirvana thing. I am a huge fan of Nirvana so perhaps I take it a bit defensively. BUT, someone mentioned Nirvana still being on the rotation and it has been like 15 years. I hear old Red Hot on the radio all the time and it has been nearly as long. I hear Crue and Poison on the radio. Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper, CCR, The Beatles, Billy Joel, etc. I do not believe it has nothing to do with his death, but the music was a turning point in the industry and a lot of people who were really finding their own with music at that time and in our teens and early twenties hang on to Nirvana and Pearl Jam and groups like that. Seether is still my favorite song ever and that was ages ago. Good music never dies. Either does music that has made an impact.

amanda..I agree with you about the Nirvana thing. I guess there are a lot of people that didn't and still don't get Nirvana. Thank God they are still in rotation! As far as Rockstar goes I wouldn't mind hearing something different. I think part of the reason Nirvana songs are on that list is because they are not easy to cover vocally and it's a way to challenge the contestants. Just my thought!
Posted by: michelle n. at July 20, 2006 05:56 AM
Amanda...
what you said... i totally agree...
i say it's Dilana or Lukas...
Posted by: Savvy at July 20, 2006 05:56 AM
Spot on with your comments again, D. I find that most of the contestants are lacking fire, passion and intensity and I am having a hard time connecting to them. I found much more drive and was more emotionally invested (well, as much as one can be in a TV show) in the INXS contestants last year. Still love Dilana though. I've compared it to the Survivor 2nd season thing--the first season, no one knows how to "play the game" so it's more intense and raw, the 2nd season, they are more about thinking through their next move, using their heads, trying to be smart about thing, rather than going with the flow and letting their hearts guide them. That may help the players, but it makes for less riveting performances to watch. Hell, who am I kidding, you're the main reason we all watch anyway! ;)
Have a great day, D & Fam.
Love,
Sue
P.S.- any NY area 67's that want to/are going to the Rockstar MSN private show next week, hit me up if you want to meet up. Kristen and I are going(and maybe DD and Peebs).
Posted by: sue at July 20, 2006 06:26 AM
Zayra has GOT to go. My boys and I keep going back and forth as to whether a dude or a chick is going to get the opportunity to front SuperNova.
I think a chick fronting the band would be cool. And I'm rooting for Dilana. I think both her sound and her look is just what the band is looking for. But then again, I'm not in the band so I really wouldn't know.
But going back to Zayra....I do NOT think she is right for this band. The girl has skills, that is for sure. But I am not partial to her sound, and I don't get a feeling of good mojo from her either.
Posted by: Orelinde at July 20, 2006 06:49 AM
Hey Dave, my sexy little god....
i am very glad that Jenny is gone. Zayra really plucks my nerves and thanks to Tivo, I tend to fast forward straight through her "performance" if thats what you want to call it. Dana as little to be desired and definitly NOT the one that should front this band. Gilby is looking insatiable these days. Something about Tommy really is irresistible!
Lukas and dilana will most likely be in the bottom two! They are the hardest rockers up there!
Love ya, Dave

Sue - Rockstar MSN private show in NY? What's that about? I'll have to look into that and see. (I can't seem to keep up with all this stuff lately!)
Dave - Totally agree about your comments. Too many Hootie wannabes up there... lol
About Nirvana - I agree that there is WAY too much Nirvana music on RS this year. Or maybe it's just the WRONG Nirvana tunes. Dave and Tommy and the guys keep saying "bring the rock, bring the rock", and in return these singers bring slow or mid-tempo Nirvana songs.
If you're gonna cover Nirvana, at least do a more 'upbeat' song like "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Lithium", etc. Something with more than, like, 40 BPMs. Songs like "Heart Shaped Box" are just so maudlin and depressing. Sure, there's a time and place for that, but this show is not it.
OK, I'm done. Back to the grind.
Peace out,
Posted by: Denise at July 20, 2006 07:59 AM
I's suprised at the criticism of this year's crop of contestants to be honest. Vocally, they're a lot better than last year's were at week 3 (not that I torrented the last series and have checked or anything...) but I think that the problem they have this year is that while they're good singers, they're not getting into the groove they need to be in to front Supernova.
Last year, the contestants had to front INXS, a frankly... uhhh.... "less challenging" band with a uhh... "lower onstage performance dynamic" uhh...
What am I saying, INXS are a karaoke band and their audience would accept any karaoke singer as a fill in for hutchence. The singer for supernova has to be a ROCKSTAR in a way that nobody last year did - they're a soft lot this year apart from Dilana and Lukas, last year there wasn't even a Dilana or Lukas at this stage of the game.
Posted by: slutmonkey57b at July 20, 2006 08:22 AM
If I can be objective...Lukas Rossi has the most incredible stage presence I have seen in years. And his guttural delivery is somehow unique. Dilana and Magni are interesting as well but Lukas has Rockstar written all over him. And have you checked out some of his older stuff? Guy can play it all over the place. Amazing.
Posted by: bajatango at July 20, 2006 08:39 AM
Zayra, Jenny and Dana all have trouble w/pitch. They all sound so out of key. I usually hit the mute button within the first 10 seconds during their performances. Their days are numbered.
Posted by: dawn at July 20, 2006 08:43 AM
Ditto!!! I think Dilana and Lukas are the most creative and talented out of the bunch...Storm, she's hot...but her vocals aren't doing it for me and her facial expressions bug me...however my neighbor would love to get up on her!!! You and the boys look great and the bad was slamming as usual...I got really happy when I noticed you wearing what looked like your wedding ring!!!
Love and PVibes to you and Carmen!!!

Posted by: chrissy at July 20, 2006 08:46 AM
Dave I agree with you. Many of the performers have talent but not all of them are cut out for Rock. I personally think it will come down to Dilana or Lukas only I can't decide which of the two I like more.
For myself; they just seem to be more willing to put themselves out there and take risks. Instead of trying to make themselves fit in with the 'song choice', they are reworking songs to fit them!
Though I must say Dana did a great job in handling the comments made about her performances and the questions/ challenges posed to her at the beginning of the show. She stood her ground and that is a great asset to have when dealing with the press. Although myself and other Canadian's were shocked and appalled when she referred to Sass Jordan as 'underground' - huh?? It was also nice to see that they finally reviewed their performances while reflecting on the feedback that has been given to them.

Too bad Dilana isn't a guy because she has the most "Rock" look, sound and attitude. But there is no way they are going to pick a gil to front the band. And the guys? Eh. There are okay, but nobody I would listen to. It will be interesting to see what Josh can do as he has the best voice, but seems kind of whimpy.

How dare anyone call INXS 'a karaoke band' (several swear words and other rude stuff i won't post)
Posted by: ylais at July 20, 2006 10:14 AM
Dav,
Please convince the guys to ax Zayra. What a yuck..If Tommy and the boys don't take Dilana on the road you should. OMG does she rock the house...

Dave maybe you could enlightment me if you have some insight...What I don't understand is if they do all these worldwide auditions, why do they end up with a handful of people who don't suit the band at all? Is it so difficult to find fifteen rockers that actually have the look/voice/stage presence that Supernova is looking for? I love the show but I think it would just make for a more interesting show if it wasn't so predictable in the first four or five weeks of the show.
Peace

HEY!
I know that this comment might just be shooting off at the mouth. HOWEVER, I have to try. I always enjoy the song selections. Honestly I have no complaints about it. I just would like to see a little heavier take on the whole situation. ESPECIALLY with this Supernova, I would absolutely LOVE a guest appearance by Reznor. I often wondered why "they" weren't using the great vocals of Trent to showcase the sound of the contestants. Then I realized the need for his keyboards and quite frankly HIM to make this happen! I think it would be fabulous and well id PAY to see it. I think there are enough "radio friendly" nails songs to encompass the masses. As well the show could get a little bit MORE crazy. I understand that the possibilities are slim to none, and I appreciate just getting the idea out there.
I do have another question. Does the band on Rock Stars choose the songs for song selection, based on what they are looking for? How does it work? Is it part of a money train, that sponsors say what needs to be showcased? What is (if any) the red tape?
In a closing thought, if we can't have Reznor on the show, that's the way it is . Can we then have ONE nails track or ONE Tool track?
That's it for now.
Take Care
Danielle

Jenny was definitely the right choice to go home last night, the vocals were not there. Dana needs to figure out how to use her body, unless she does so, she'll be gone next week. Josh was better... but the song choice bugged me. He didn't seem to feel comfortable in his skin either. Seems like everyone needs to look at the guys they want to be band members with and understand what kind of music these guys do. Ah well. All in all, good show, a billion times better than the other 'become a star' shows out there. Thanks man.

ylais, I definately agree. INXS is very underrated, especially for being so innovative in the business. They were the first to use a lot of the musical and songwriting techniques used today.

Change of channel for a bit...
A movie recommendation (highly recommended)...
"The Proposition"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421238/
Yes it's bleak, dark with a beautiful forlorn soundtrack. But it's a most excellent movie.
Just saw it today.
I hope Nick Cave writes more movie stories and they are put to film. That's all I have to say about this.
You should see it Dave (if you haven't), you'll enjoy it... Both the movie and the soundtrack backing it...

Man! My comment is on the song selection this year. Please no more Stones. The STP was a nice surprise but Nirvana is a spent round.
I wanna see some "KICK OUT THE JAMS MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!" grinding hard kick-ass tunes. Let's see Dr.Zira rock that out. HAHAHAHA!! NO WAY! AC/DC, Soundgarden/Audioslave, Misfits, Danzig, NIN, Tool (I'm with ya Danielle). Give them the hardest shit you can think of and the floaters will drop like flies. IMO there are only three really. Dilana is ithe best by far followed by Lukas and the Aussie dude.
PS I think that song Dana did was pre Sass J. I remember hearing it in the 1970's. I thought it was a Mother's Finest song but was wrong. Anyone???
Posted by: Dane Bramage (ok John) at July 20, 2006 12:14 PM
Dane has it nailed. The song selections should be audience or participant choice, not something that is forced on them. Let them rock to some really good stuff and no more Nirvana, PLEASE. Let's hear some Aerosmith, Zeppelin, Ozzy, MC5, AC/DC, Wolfmother, heavy ass rock and roll!
I thought Jenny was the right person to boot and Gilby hit it on the head with his Lilith Fair comment vs. Ozzfest.
One more thing, Dilana is a GODDESS! She has the "it" factor in spades. Dave, you aren't angling for her after Carmen are you?
Posted by: Florida Bill at July 20, 2006 12:37 PM
Well Dane, haha! Dana said it was Sass J.'s song so ....? I could c em pickn a chick if she can play an inst.& then they could switch up leads-t.lee has pipes

A "10 Question Spot"...
When's the next "Indie Artist of the Month" contest??? Just curious...
'Cause I totally love that part of your site/what you're doing to help the music scene...
Posted by: Savvy at July 20, 2006 12:45 PM
My early money is on Dilana...if for no other reason than for Supernova to avoid annoying and inevitable comparisons to Velvet Revolver by the critics. Lukas has the right chops but is not unique enough to avoid cheap shots about being a Scott Weiland wannabe. Toby would be a safe choice for a limited range of tunes and bring in the female audience on a tour.
Posted by: Kim in Toronto at July 20, 2006 01:05 PM
Toby = would not bring in this female part of the audience!!! On that note, Tommy and Gilby have that part covered... Though Dilana would get me there 'cause she's an awesome performer...
Though Lukas is good, I see him fronting more of a Prodigy/industrial type band...
Posted by: Savannah at July 20, 2006 01:13 PM
I seriously doubt Trent or Maynard would give CBS permission to use their songs for this show. Same w/ the LZ cats....last time I talked to those guys they said they'd never allow it. HAHAHAHA I wish...what do I know?!? Don't get me wrong. I'd LOOOVE to see some of these kids attempt a Nails or Tool song. I just don't see it ever happening.
Hope everyone is having a good Thursday...1 more day people till the weekend!
Love, Amber :)

Dave - how delicious you looked last night, as always. You and Tommy Lee ~ what a dream it would be to meet you both. EYE CANDY at its best! On another note, Zayra is absolutely horrible to watch! GEEZE....My favorites are Dilana and Jill. Dilana fits the part, but Jill is quite the rocker for a little gal. Lukas is awesome but is a bit too cocky for my taste. Some cockiness is a good thing, but he loves himself way way too much. Much love and kisses to you!

Patrice Pike's performance of the Beatles' "Helter Skelter"
= weak and I didn't like the cutesy stuff or her deliverance of it...

You should make the spoiler a little more covert...esp since you are saying who got kicked off b4 the show even airs in most markets. Maybe a cut b4 the announcement?

Spoiler: Don't Read If You Don't Want To Know!
I think that's a little hint! :)
Posted by: hmmm at July 20, 2006 03:39 PM
They definitely need to change up the song rotations. Do we need to hear Nirvana and Rolling Stones every week? Especially since they are the same songs as last year...can't CBS shell out for some different songs? And then last week Toby got the encore when he didn't even sing the Killers as good as Ty did last year. This week was a lot better though with some different songs and Patrice and Phil the man brought the rock for a change.
Posted by: Phil at July 20, 2006 03:39 PM
Nice Heather! Where's my damn shirt, I've been voting my ass off. hahaha...
Posted by: Ambersonian at July 20, 2006 03:41 PM
Zayra = Bjork???
In her FUCKING DREAMS. Bjork is a true original with an incredible voice, musical talent, songwriting talent, a visual artist, intellectual, and no interest in what other people expect her to do.
Zayra's a talentless, childish, whiney hack merchant.
As to INXS being a Karaoke band - I'm sorry, but even if you do like them, their music is MOR pop fodder, and the house band totally embarrassed them last year.

Posted by: kRIS at July 20, 2006 06:12 PM
He just is (all the way to his Greek endowment)!!! He was my 12th grade (1986) locker poster boy... I had a poster of him wearing assless pants, body facing forward and him looking back over his shoulder... all my friends loved it... and some tried to take it... needless to say it got more attention than my school books in my locker on any given day!!! outside of all this he is a total rockin' drummer!!!
just like Dave just is!!!

Posted by: merrymagic at July 20, 2006 08:31 PM
Dave, I was wondering why on the Carson Daly interview you said there were 16 rockers, and there ended up being only 15?
Did anyone see E entertainment news or Extra? They showed Dave's post about his split up with Carmen. Dave, I don't know if you told the press that they will find your response at 6767, if you did, it's a smart move, and hopefully they will leave you alone for awhile. I bet it will bring a lot more people to the site and watching Rockstar.
Okay, I know a lot of you guys aren't into Bon Jovi, but he was on Extra and he is so hot!!!
I really admire him. He has helped build 26 homes in NJ for homeless people.

Dave, why aren't there any homies on Rockstar Supernova? Help a brotha out! Jimmy Hendrix was my man, and apparently yours too!!

I heard this blog mentioned all over the place today, i know i should probably be happy for the publicity, but i like our little community
Posted by: SweetMelis at July 20, 2006 10:14 PM
I hear ya Sweets but if I remember correctly, last year during RS it got chaotic around here with the millions of comments each day. Now w/ the seperation, there will be even more curious ones stopping by...in fact it will probably expand here quite a bit after the album comes out in a few weeks too! Awwwww man......I started out thinking you were wrong but you're totally right!! We've just gotta learn to share the love. :D
Posted by: Ambersonian at July 20, 2006 10:28 PM
SweetMelis, I agree, I like the intimacy of a knowing most of the people who post here. I would guess from Dave's point of view, having more people coming to 6767 broadens the fan base for TPC and Rockstar.
Posted by: Linda at July 20, 2006 10:32 PM
sorry amber, everything you listed was my thought process the whole day. i just didn't elaborate. i admit i got a chuckle reading your entry. i could almost see your face slowly realizing,......although i couldn't see your face, cause i don't know what you look like!!! ha ha ha i'll share the love, but i don't wanna share dave.
I know someone is gonna yell at me for being dis-respectful, but I have to share.....before i moved out here (so cal) people used to bust my chops about my "thing" for Dave telling me he's married and all that,( as if i'd have a chance in the first place) I used to say (completely joking of course) that he was just waiting till he met me and then it would all be over with Carmen! I get here, meet Dave with in a week in vegas on July 4th and now two weeks later the seperation. It's not funny, but i've gotten more e-mails and messages from the people i had that conversation with, asking me what i did.....One could only dream!!
Posted by: SweetMelis at July 20, 2006 11:06 PM
again, i'm not being disrespectful, i wouldn't do anything like that even if i could. i just thought it was the absolute true definition of COINCIDENCE!!!

SweetMelis, wow girl, what happened behind closed doors at Sundays taping! You didn't even share the details or the man! HA HA HA

I love The White Stripes - esp. the interaction between Jack/Meg... Glad to hear The Raconteurs are great live as well... I'm a huge fan of Jack...
Maybe a Raconteurs song can be mixed into the SRL song list!?!

DAVE NAVARO BLOGS ABOUT HIS LOVE LIFE
In a continuing saga of the Carmen Electra-Dave Navaro split, Dave has taken to using his website, much in the style of Britney Spears and her poetry posts, to talk about his personal life:
"A Few Words. So, there are a few questions that I am willing to address. These I'll answer, but I am not taking any others. I figure it's better to say something here than anywhere else.1. Do you have a girlfriend? No. I have been living at home, touring, making and promoting a record or shooting Rockstar for the past several months. There is absolutely no way I could be living with someone in New York. 2. What does amicably separated mean? It means that Carmen and I love each other, we are and always will be best friends. In fact, we are supporting each other through this time. What better way to get through a tough spot than with your best friend?"
Stay tuned for whatever other questions these two may be willing to answer — amicable or not.
