Going To Work
Today is an all new performance taping of Rockstar which will air on Tuesday night. Be sure to catch the reality portion of the show which airs on the MSN site on Monday as the singers go into their first song writing clinic. We recap it on the Tuesday show, but there is nothing like watching total drama unfold in all it's glory. Plus, we get a chance to finally hear some new Supernova and see where they are coming from musically. It should be a really entertaining episode.

First!
Can't wait to see the reality show, Dave. It's one of the highlights of the RS week for me. I'd ask if you're the one helping them with the clinic, but I figure I'll see it on the show tomorrow anyway. :p
Have a blast and stay cool, this Cali. weather's been pretty damn crazy.
Much Love,
~Ali

Hehe for that photo!
Do you think you'll be doing any jammin' on Rockstar this time around? Maybe with some of the contestants?
Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at July 23, 2006 09:23 AM
Yes Dave...please get your ass up there and play a little this season! I love watching you shred that guitar.
That pic is kinda scary! haha...I hate masks like that...I always feel like there is some psycho killer underneath them.
Can't wait to see the performance show. The "Rockers" :) have been getting better and better each week...well, most of them have. So this week should be the best yet!
Love you Dave and 67ers! Enjoy your last day of the weekend. Ali...Im goin to the beach. I can't handle anything close to 100*...can't even fathom anything over it! I've gotta get out of town!
Love, Amber :)
Posted by: Ambersonian at July 23, 2006 09:40 AM
Amber, I know what you mean. I'm going to the beach on Thursday for a few days. Just realized I'll probably miss a LOT on 6767, because that's just how it goes - Miss a day (let alone four), miss a whole lot. :p Ugh, I checked the weather and today's high where I am is supposed to be 114. It's 99 right now. I can't wait to get out of here! :p
And Dave, I agree with what people have been saying, it's always great to see you hammering out your music. You're such a blast to watch and listen to.
Love,
~Ali

Well, I don't know who the guy on the right with the tatooed fingers is...but the other guy looks like he's wearing the pig mask from Billy Morrison's role in Tripping Forward...too funny!!
Yay for the clinics!! Yay for Supernova performance, the trifecta would be...MORE DAVE!!!
Posted by: jezebel at July 23, 2006 09:58 AM
Loopy...will the Asylum be down for a while?
Posted by: Ambersonian at July 23, 2006 10:08 AM
That's awesome, it will be cool to see what Supernova has in mind- what new 'sound' they are looking for. I too would also like to see you engage more with these performers; whether that be on stage playing or simply providing inspirational direction. I recall reading somewhere that you had stated that this year you were not going to be as involved with the performers but come on man, they need it! Besides the whole show could be just about you and I would still watch it; over and over and over again...cheers!

That photo is hella funny, but you can tell - as they say (whoever "they" are) - by the hands.

The photo is very ummmmmm....Pink Floyd.
Posted by: Peebs at July 23, 2006 11:35 AM
Babe, I got you Babe!! You know, that cute little movie about the pig that could talk. Well now I guess he can play the guitar and sing! Ha Ha
Sucks, my computer is too slow to watch the reality episodes. I wish they stilled showed them on VH1. Last season I was able to get to know the rockers better, and I loved Dave's clinics with them.
Posted by: Linda at July 23, 2006 12:16 PM
Everytime I see a pig mask I can't help but think of the front of the Viewphoria DVD by the Pumpkins because for years I never knew who it was until I learned it's Butch Vig in one of them (never found out who was in the other). I also can't help but think of the Primus video "Mr. Krinkle" as that video still haunts me (which is an amazing video as it was filmed in one shot but if you search on youtube you have to search by "Primus" and go to the second page).
PRIMUS SUCKS!
Posted by: OLDSCHOOL at July 23, 2006 01:18 PM
Hey, am i the only one having problems to open up thepanicchannel.com and the panic asylum???
And i havent been able to watch any video of rockstar on msn site, i dont know why it doesnt play... :(
Dave, will shop 13 be selling TPC album to other countries? if not, where can i download the songs?
Posted by: Marivic at July 23, 2006 01:33 PM
Primus Sucks!!? your kidding right?LOL
Posted by: Steve L at July 23, 2006 01:46 PM
I've been having trouble with the sites too. I couldn't get to steveisaacs.com yesterday and today, it looks like the TPC site is down. Maybe they had a server crash or something.

"Blood or ketchup. You vote for blood, or you vote for ketchup. I'm votin' ketchup." - TRES COOL from Spin interview October- printed Nov.2004.

I did too, Tres, I did too-
Posted by: Bv at July 23, 2006 02:04 PM
Probably didn't translate across the pond Steve, but to say that PRIMUS SUCKS! means that you actually dig the shit out of Les and the earlier stuff as he used to hand out bumper stickers at the show proclaiming PRIMUS SUCKS! So, in essence, to say PRIMUS SUCKS! means that they don't. It's funny, on that youtube page, people are going there saying PRIMUS SUCKS! and the ones that don't know are going, "hey, where are all the haters coming from?". HAHAHAHA, funny as shit, the perpetual joke.
Posted by: OLDSCHOOL at July 23, 2006 02:37 PM
Hahaha,no that didn't translate,i didn't no about the history of Les handing out the bumper stickers.
In that case TURN UP THE SUCK(FUBAR..anyone,LOL)
Posted by: Steve L at July 23, 2006 03:09 PM
Dave you've never looked more becoming...
Though maybe if you were a piggy in a headstand...
and those masks may cause some people to have weird dreams about farm animals and rolling around in mud!!!
and about...
"Plus, we get a chance to finally hear some new Supernova"
Will be cool because little Miss ex-RS:SN Jenny has blabbed to a Canada paper that none of them really are into what SN is doing musically, from what they've all heard so far. I think she's just miffed that she got the black leather steel toed boot and wanted some press out of it all. Oh well.

The Asylum is back up and running for your pleasure.
(Thanks!).
Posted by: OLDSCHOOL at July 23, 2006 04:01 PM
Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?
the asylum works fine...but, then again, I've never left.ahhahahahah
off to see the 'other' Dave..singing Van Halen bluegrass style...good GOD!!
What else am I going to do, I didn't have to pay the 100 bucks?, and the Key Club IS a great venue
happy Sunday, Family!!
love,
jezzi(just a gigolette)
Posted by: jezebel at July 23, 2006 04:04 PM
No kidding about Jenny. I read the article and she is totally giving the impression that no one invloved with the show is all that invested in it.
Posted by: Noelle at July 23, 2006 04:46 PM
Good Sunday, D & Fam!
I just watched a really trippy indie film called Primer. What a mindfreak! I HIGHLY recommend it. Here's a link (pretty detailed so if you want less info, google it) to Roger Ebert's review.
http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20041028/REVIEWS/40920013/1023
Shane Carruth wrote/directed/scored/starred in it and made it for about $7,000.
Anyway, looking forward to Rockstar, and the NY Rockstar.msn show on Thursday.
Have a great week!
Love,
Sue

Fuck Jenny. If she was eating that sandwich Dave suggested she wouldn't be able to spew that kinda shit!! I didn't like her anyway!
I guess it's good she got booted if she didn't like it anyway. Wassa matta Jenny, is it TOO rock for you?? Then again Air Supply was a little too rick for her!!
sorry, I hate when people talk shit after the facy (yeah, I know, that's exactly what I just did, but SHE started it!!!) lol
happy Sunday,
signed,
Pissed I didn't go to the taping, but it'z just too damm hot to stand outside
Posted by: SweetMelis at July 23, 2006 05:14 PM
Hi Marivic, I haven't been able to play a video at the rockstar site either.
Jezzi, I thought you were going to the Rockstar taping? Maybe they only let people in with pig masks, must have been a lot of cops!!!!! Ha Ha
No offense, I really like cops, I always ask them if they want to frisk me. Actually, when I had my car accident, a CHP officer gave me a ride home. I had to sit in the back like I had been arrested. He said he would handcuff me if it made me feel better. I was definitely having a bad day seeing I didn't take him up on that offer!

Sunday 10/DN:
Will the AUG 7th show at the Hard Rock be a full or condensed set/show? (That would be good to know for those of us that may consider treking it.)
Thanks for any word on the details. -Al

hey maybe the folks at CBS could make sure that the folks in line have bottled water and rig up an awning with some fans..haven't been over there, maybe it's happening..just a thought-seems with all those clever stage hands about they could throw something up quick and even have roll down sides and throw in a few cheap air conditioners. Probably a typical bureaucracy ;costs more to pay someone to oversee it than it would in materials...
Posted by: merrymagic at July 23, 2006 06:29 PM
Hey Dave
hope all is well in the Navarro camp
i was thinkin...ya know how (well if you dont - ya do now) when you type in codes like 'Alt 0189' or 'Alt 0190' you get fancy keys like upside down ?'s and !'s and fractions and all that jazz (i would demonstrate but im on a laptop that wont let me)......well i was thinkin you should try and get one of the panic channel sigil...so instead of typing 'the panic channel'you could just use the sigil - or fans of the band could put it in their messenger screen names or in their myspace titles as a sign they like the band - that way other fans with it can see and recognise each other as people of similar interests and taste in music and maybe even become friends etc- its sorta like when ya go to a gig n u see some dude in a fugazi t shirt n u say 'dude...fugazi are awesome' an u have a nice friendly chat with em til the band comes on..... i have a habit of saying more than i need to...i hope uve understanded what ive said and hope you try n make it happen.....or give me permission to do so myself - then ill tell u the code cos i think other members of the panic channel community would agree with me that its a pretty kool idea and would use it if one existed.....
anyway...cant wait til i get ONe......tis gonna be sweet
cya later Dave

hey dave, I just wanted to say hey, and tell you that I wish you nothing but the best. I just recently heard about your split(I don't pay attention to celeb gossip, so I think I was the last person to find out....)and I think it is great that you are still friends. she is a very sweet woman, and she left quite an impression on me when I met her (and you) at the SG/Courtney love show at the wiltern theater.... I'm not much longer in L.A. I bought a house in NC. I'll deffinetly come see your band If you play Raleigh....... Cheers, dear. ♥

I'ld rather be locked in an room, straped to a wooden chair, and forced to watch reruns of Commander In Chief-than to listen to a cd of the Z.

....or -an- apartment in the valley.
Posted by: bv at July 23, 2006 10:09 PM
Dave, or anyone?
Is there anywhere I can obtain a whole bunch of your deez nuts calls to room service and the like? Do you have that shit up as an mp3 anywhere, or could you possibly? Or will it all be archived like in SpreadRadio re-runs. Let me know.. Thanks.

Linda, I know...I had tix and everyting, but I won tix to see David Lee Roth, it was 20 minutes away, and in an airconditioned casino..I just got back, I had an extra ticket, asked a girl that was getting ready to buy hers if she wanted mine...The guy asks for ID, I tell him that the last guy who carded me got a kiss on the lips..he blushed, and next thing you know, he gives us both VIP wristbands...yummy drinks and all!!
As for Dave ..well...interesting, to say the least...bluegrass Van Halen? wow!
ok, I like the idea of easy ups and bottled water, but I'm here to tell you, the first line is on the sidewalk, so I don't see that happening, the second staging area is shaded, and there's portapottys..hee hee.
Every time it's pretty much a crapshoot how long you wait in line, I've had no wait, I've waited an hour, it's the nature of the beast..but the wait was ALWAYS worth it..
ok, sorry, Dave, how I do ramble, it's all that free RedBull..haha
love,
jezzi(Key Club ROCKS)

Posted by: Savvy at July 24, 2006 05:59 AM
A few questions.
1) I am assuming that the RS Mansion is rented for the show but who lives there year round?
2)What's the deal with the little short beds..lol? Nothing like sleeping with your legs hanging over the end.
3) Dave why have you decided not to engaged with these performers during clinics etc? Fans want more Dave you know...lol makes up for the Zyara's of the world.
Posted by: Noelle at July 24, 2006 06:35 AM
Oh and BV your comments above are hilarious. For myself I would rather be strapped to a chair watching re-runs about anything than be forced to listen to a whole CD of Zyara.
But maybe your on to something, we could send a copy of Zyara's CD to Guantanamo and use it to torture 'suspected terrorists'....
